    Tortilla Española, Romesco Allioli* ***
    Heidy C.

I was so excited to try this place based off a recommendation from my girlfriend. We started with patatas bravas, fried eggplant chips, tortilla espanola. The eggplant was delicious. Thinly sliced and nice and crispy with a little sweetness from the honey and some rosemary. Tortilla eapanola was filled with thinly sliced potatoes and a dollop of delicious sauce. Patatas bravas were ok. I expected a little more crispiness. The star of the show was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered the paella. The rice was undercooked. We didn't eat much of it and told our server. His reaction was like oh ok. But nothing more. Like no offer to correct it, make it right or anything to accommodate the fact that we were not going to eat rice kernels that was not cooked thoroughly. We asked him to pack up our food. Huge disappointment to have paella that was not cooked all the way. We also had a pitcher of white sangria. That was good. Not sure I will come back here based of the lack of attention to our issue with the food. I have had paella at many places including Spain. This was a disappointment.

Enjoyed dinner at the patio bar. Loved the cava sangria. The bartenders were very friendly. Enjoyed the classics tomato de pan, bravas potatad and chicken croquettes.

We had a nice meal at Bravas Bar de Tapas. I will say that there are few places in the US that really compare to tapas places in Barcelona, so I will try not to compare too much! We sat at the outdoor patio, which they had warned us was a little windy but they had space heaters. The indoor dining area looked cute as well. They have a good selection of hot and cold tapas. I liked the cauliflower one we got, along with the beet salad. I would say that the tapas are on the larger size. We also ordered the fried chicken meal which was delicious but too much food for two people! It comes with a delicious kale salad as well. I also ordered the cava sangria, which was good but super strong! I did feel like the service was fine but they weren't as super friendly as other places in Healdsburg. The service was really fast, food came out quickly.

Tapas style restaurant offering both indoor and outdoor seating . The weather was perfect the day we visited, so we decided to dine on their cute outdoor patio. The escarole salad was light, but I felt the cheese was a bit overpowering. The bacon wrap dates served as both as a meal and dessert. We really enjoyed the paella for two since it came with an abundance of seafood! The prices are reasonable relative to the portion size and quality of food. Service was great, and we will definitely revisit this restaurant the next we are in Healdsburg!

Was in the area and decided to stop by for dinner. We didn't have reservations but we saw there were plenty of tables available. However, the host was offering us seats at their outside but never mentioned that it was all the way in the back at their outside bar area. It was cold and raining at the time and we preferred to wait for seats inside. But the host seemed annoyed at us and was told that it would take 45 mins for a table. Mind you there were at least 3 tables available. I understand there may have been reservations for those tables but I felt like we were inconveniencing her because we wanted to sit indoors. Despite that, we were eventually seated at the indoor bar which we didn't mind at all. But that altercation just gave a weird vibe and it kind of sucked too because we were celebrating our anniversary. Anyway for the food, we ordered the following: Goat Cheese Toast, Duncan's Mushrooms, Octopus, Catalan Style Sautéed Spinach and Paella for 2. Everything tasted really good except for the spinach. I can do without next time. Also, keep in mind that the Paella takes a while to make so be sure to order that first. Overall, the food was good and there are plenty of options to choose from. I just think the hospitality could be better because it does affect the overall experience.

What a delight to find this place on a rainy afternoon. The restaurant is in a comfortable old house, and the welcoming staff seated me at a high-top next to a warm fire. I started with the creamy chicken croquetas, what a pity there were only three. I could have eaten a dozen. I also had the crispy asparagus and jamon "cigarillos" with manchego and a harissa aioli. Pure bliss. The roasted beets with walnuts and idazabal cheese were delicious and very generous, a reminder that one shouldn't go to a tapas restaurant alone! So take a friend or two and go.

Delicious tapas with a lovely team of people working there! We started with the Tortilla Espanola -- which is a Potato, Onion, and Manchego Omelette with Romesco Allioli. So when you see "tortilla" don't think tortilla in the traditional sense! It was nothing like I'd ever tasted and I really enjoyed it. We also had the goat cheese toast with white truffle honey -- loved the toast it came on. DELISH. We ordered some fried eggplant chips -- the server kindly alerted us that all the food is fried in the same fryer, and I'm not quite allergic but really dislike seafood, and I could definitely taste seafood in the chips. So that's the only dish I didn't care for, but if you like seafood you probably won't even notice this! Finally, we had the Iberico pork skewers with roasted pineapple. This wasn't my favorite -- I think the pork could have been cooked a little more. But I really liked it in combination with the pineapple. I'd definitely return here!

Great experience at Bravas! Came in with no reservation but still got seated right away. Our server was awesome, gave us tons of recommendations. We ended up getting a few plates and everything was hot and delicious. Definitely recommend! Food: 4.4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Marcels foodie score: 4.5

Such a cute spot for a date night or gathering! We spent a long weekend in Healdsburg, did a wine tasting, and came here for an early dinner. There's easy parking all around the shopping district. We were easily seated early before our reservation on the back patio with a view of the Paella chef. The patio is nicely decorated, with string lights and heaters, and very comfortable. We definitely ordered a little too much off the menu but everything was truly delicious! Some highlights were: - the crispy pig ears (a little hard for my bf but I liked the crunch and flavor) - the eggplant chips (and I dont even like eggplant!) - the sardines (super fresh) The Paella was good but lacking a bit of that crispy bottom we loved, but overall everything else was so great that was easy to overlook. Highly recommend this spot for a great dinner!

AWESOME place. Clean, friendly staff, and YUMMY food! We had the crab, paella, fried chicken, chicken skin, eggplant chips, and clams and all were DELISH! Thank you Serving Team!

    Paella for 2

Everything was absolutely delicious. Although, it's kind of hard to say because I made myself try the pig ears. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised by them! They tasted nice. I would highly recommend getting the Dungeness Crab Stuffed Piquillo Peppers! It was DELICIOUS. Would come again!

I've been to Bravas a few times, and I recently came back because the weather was nice and I haven't had tapas in awhile. They have a cute back patio area strung with lights and heaters for the evening. I had the cava sangria, and it's good if you like your sangria on the drier side and slightly sweet. Be ready to eat when you come! We ordered the following: - goat cheese toast: sweet and had the perfect bite! Very creamy and carmelized onion with honey was delicious - Bacon wrapped dates: a bit too sweet for me, and I thought goat cheese would have tasted better than with blue cheese - potata bravas: crispy and tasty with a yummy tomato sauce and aioli - tortilla espanola: a Spanish staple, with thin layers of egg and potatoes. One of my faves! - croquetas: crispy and creamy on the inside. - skirt steak: very tender but steak itself lacked seasoning. - octopus: a bit too chewy and mushy for me Food was good, ambiance was nice and service was great. For a tapas place it's above average, but I've had better tapas!

Do they have "junk fees" on their bill?

Yes. Bravas (and presumably the other Stark restaurants) tack on a "3% BOH SVC CHG"…

Jack, Thank you for your question. We absolutely can accommodate for a peanut allergy. Your server can guide you through which dishes are OK for you to enjoy. Hope to serve…

Do they offer Cocido madrileño on menu or off-menu like a special of the day or special request?

Yes, when facing the front door there is a side entrance to the back patio on the left side of the restaurant. We allow dogs in our back patio and can offer water bowls, however there's no dog menu. As for your question about paella, it is currently…

No. It has been discontinued indefinitely.

Hi Elma- Due to the stay at home order currently in place in the Bay Area, we are open for To-Go only for now Wednesday - Sunday 4pm-8pm.

What time does their happy hour start?

We are not offering Happy Hour at this time. Historically, our Happy Hour has run from 3-6pm Monday-Thursday.

Hi! Our patio is friendly to dogs. As long as they are well behaved.

Can we bring a dog if we eat outdoor?

    YES!!

Hi Emma, Yes, our corkage applies to all wines that are not purchased in the restaurant.

Is the patio section warm at night with the heater provided?

Yes. Nice and toasty last time I was there.

Perfect timing for happy hour which starts at 3pm though the menu only had deals for drinks. Vibes: Loved the ambiance inside and outside the patio. We wanted to enjoy the nice breeze and the patio provided lots of shade. For cooler nights, it looked like they had ample heaters around the patio. I can see this place, especially the bar inside, being very lively at night. Service: Wonderful service from our server. Since it was our first time, we asked for his opinion whether or not we ordered too much or too little. He helped us tweak some items on our order and it ended up being the perfect amount of food with no leftovers and almost cleaned out plates. Each dish came out almost exactly as we finished the previous dish. Food: -Crudo (MP): 5 pieces topped with pepper and onion -Grilled Vietnamese Steak ($19): about 5 pieces on a skewers. Meat was tender and went perfectly with the sauce. The "not so sticky rice" didn't have much flavor by itself. Had to eat it with the sauce and meat. -Mushroom eggroll ($12): 3 pieces of egg rolls. Loved the duck sauce and truffle hot mustard sauce -Kimchi Noodles ($20) + add chicken ($8): the chicken served was the Pollo A La Brasa which tasted well with the dish. I enjoyed the crunch of water chestnuts. It was a unique dish with fresh noodles. For someone who likes spicy food, this didn't have much kick for me. Would order this again! Overall: Would love to visit Lo and Behold again next time we're in town!

I decided to get the kimchi noodles based on all the rave reviews, but thought it was only fine and a bit too oily. Perhaps I'm spoiled by Chinese noodle shops that I think do this kind of wide noodle better. I added chicken to the noodles, which is the same chicken from the pollo à la brasa dish, and it was solid. Quite crunchy and blackened but still very tender. My partner got the famed chicken tenders, which were not bad, but he found the ratio of breading to chicken a bit off (too much breading for his taste). I also really liked the fries.

From the moment we arrived, the service was exquisite--from the attentive wait staff to the incredibly knowledgeable sommelier. We enjoyed an incredible @ 9-course meal (it was more like 20 IG you count each AMAZING morsel of sashimi) featuring so many unique and exotic varieties of fish, each course beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. As a pescatarian, I requested that my entire experience be gluten-free and cheese-free, and the team accommodated my request flawlessly. I never felt like I was missing a thing; every dish was creative, flavorful, and beautifully executed! My favorites were the corn bisque and sashimi bites as well as the complex multilayer cucumber dish! I wish I could eat that every night! It was amazingggg Then came the perfect finale After our 9 courses, we were brought upstairs to the rooftop, where we enjoyed three or four different gluten-free desserts while taking in a breathtaking sunset and beautiful views of Healdsburg. For…read morecontext, our party of four had dined at The French Laundry two days earlier, which may have heightened our expectations. That dinner was exceptional and showed us what truly outstanding hospitality can feel like. By comparison, our experience at SingleThread fell far short of the standard we expected from a restaurant of this caliber. The issues began as soon as we arrived. Despite several emails exchanged beforehand and repeated references to personalizing the experience, the staff initially got my name wrong. We were then directed to look through a small kitchen window without any explanation, context, or narrative about what we were seeing. After a few minutes, a small tea drink was served through the window, but we were then left standing in a cramped entry area for roughly 20 minutes with no meaningful interaction from the three people at the desk. During that time, we watched other parties arrive and be escorted elsewhere while no one checked in with us or explained the delay. Eventually, someone from the dining room asked whether we would like to be seated. By that point, I was already frustrated. Once seated, our server quickly described several small dishes arranged on a flower-and-moss-covered faux log, then left before we had any meaningful sense of the menu, the number of courses, or the direction of the meal. When the sommelier arrived and asked us to choose wine or pairings, I felt unable to make an informed decision because I did not know what food was coming. I ultimately chose the wine pairing simply because it seemed like the safest option given the lack of information. The service throughout the evening did not reflect what I would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. There was little storytelling, little hospitality, and very little sense that the experience was being guided with care. A server attempted to clear my plate while my fork and knife were still in my hands. Another server bumped a member of our party with a plate. Most concerning, the staff appeared to lose track of a guest's allergy and served me her plate instead. To be clear, we caught the mistake; the staff did not. That kind of lapse is difficult to overlook. We also consistently had difficulty hearing the descriptions of the dishes as they were presented, which further diminished the sense of connection to the meal. At a restaurant centered so heavily on the progression, story, and precision of each course, that lack of clear communication mattered. The food itself showed creativity, skill, and technique. There were several good courses, a few that felt unusual or less successful, and a couple of truly strong dishes, including the best duck I have had to date. Unfortunately, it was difficult to fully appreciate the food because the service failures were so distracting and so far below expectations. The one clear positive of the evening was the sommelier. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in discussing each pairing and in making recommendations to other members of our party. His service stood apart from the rest of the experience. We will not return. For us, the evening did not feel personal, polished, or worthy of the reputation attached to it. It felt like highly engineered cuisine paired with service that did not meet fine-dining standards. We left The French Laundry two nights earlier talking about every detail with admiration. We left SingleThread frustrated and deeply disappointed.
