Sandwiches are the type of food you'd need to try real hard to screw up. Conversely, it takes one hell of a sandwich to stand tall above the rest. You can probably surmise that my experience at Bread and Brew was average. The service was average and the food met my expectations. The cubano I ordered came out exactly how I pictured it and tasted just fine. So why am I dissatisfied? Maybe it has more to do with me and my personal tastes than anything to do with the restaurant. I have a hard time coming to grips with entree-priced "meat, cheese, and condiments packed in-between slices of commercial bread". I have to mention that the potato chips come across as an afterthought, and that's if you're lucky enough to have them included with your 'wich. The table beside us received their grilled cheese sandwiches without anything but some kind of dip. I almost had to stifle a laugh cause I wouldn't be too happy to receive what could just as easily be found in any college student's culinary repertoire. I apologise if this review seems particularly mean-spirited, but those are my thoughts on the "Best New Restaurant" in 2018 according to Anchorage Daily News. read more

I keep trying to give this place chances for a better review but I can't. I ordered mac n cheese today and requested no bread crumbs. It was in the evening, maby 6:30 PM. 15 minutes later the server came and told me they make their mac n cheese is made in thw morning and it comes with bread crumbs. Went for the first time a week ago as part of a meet up group. Jenna was our server and such a delight. I ordered a simple house salad minus onions. It came out with onions Jenna brought it back for me. They literally just picked off the onions and sent it back out. I could've done that myself. I hate onions, the smell and the taste. So as I took bites I could tell it still had the onion from the original salad. I ate it anyways because I was hungry. I mentioned it to Jenna and they took it off my bill. Any where that offers a mimosa flight is a great visit in my book! When you enter they have a little line ( think cafeteria style ) where you order and pay for your food and drinks. This was the only downside for Me, i really enjoy sitting down and taking my time to review the menu and maybe order a couple things. But lines make me think of fast food, people waiting behind you.. it's all very stressful. BUT... this food was amazing! I had the Apple Bacon grilled cheese, and it was amaziby! The apple wasn't too strong and it was perfectly soft. An amazing sandwich topped with their delightful sauce/dip stuff! In addition, my husband had the chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese. My wife and I ordered the Pulled Pork Tacos, the Hawaiian Pizza, and a bottle of Smart Water, all to be delivered by Grub Hub. Bread and Brew charged us for all of the items, put the receipt on the outside of the bag, listing everything we ordered, and Grub Hub pick-up supposedly everything we ordered and delivered a single bag to us. When we opened the bag, there was a container with three (3) Pulled Pork Tacos (the only reason for the 2 stars) AND nothing else. When we called Bread and Brew they just credited use for the pizza and water...didn't offer to make and deliver (which we really wanted). But took the easy way out for themselves. However, we tipped Grub Hub on the amount of the total order and not just the Tacos we got, but BreAD AND BREW COULDN'T HELP US WITH THAT. Be cautious when ordering from bread and Brew and getting delivery. read more

This place is very nice and offers a great options of different sandwiches and more. Ended up getting the over under and truffle fries. Would say this is one of my new favorites. The ciabatta bread that came with it was nice and soft and not dry at all. The truffle fries were pretty good. We stopped here for drinks before heading to a wedding. This place is a small sports bar which serves a lot of local craft beer. It was a nice place to stop to hang out. The bartender was very nice. The place is very comfortable with lots of seating. They do serve food but did not try any items off the menu. We finished off our drinks and off we headed off to join with the fun. read more

Had a wonderful lunch today! My server was extremely kind and very attentive! I regret I do not remember his name. This is easily my husbands favorite place to eat. Every time we come the staff are always very kind and helpful! I love how the restaurant is really well lit with natural lighting. They have a pretty small space and seem to fill up quick. Even though it's a small area I didn't feel cramped at all. Even though there is a bar, it is family friendly! It's a great place to go especially on a cold day! The food here is great, and I really like the bar and our door seating. The menu is fun and unique and the Cubano is outstanding. The service docks the star because after Covid they stayed with the counter instead of table service. This is okay, but they drop your food at the table and then it's like you no longer exist. If something is forgotten or wrong you have to go wait in the ordering line which is awkward and frankly the prices warrant a bit more attention. Not enough to keep us from going, but annoying for certain. read more

I hate writing bad reviews because I love to root for small, local business, but I have to say they should not have served me the dry, half made reuben sandwich they gave me. Instead of table-side service (from when I was last there), you now enter the restaurant and place your order and they bring your order to your table. I have no problem with that. The sandwich I received was dry with very little corned beef, and stale-like bread and overall cold. Looks nothing like the photo on their online menu. I'm guessing it sat for a (long) while before it was delivered to me. Two stars (instead of one) because the service was just fine, but the food (including the tomato soup) was cold. read more

I really like this place, the interior décor, and the service with a smile. Ordered a little bit of everything from sandwiches, fries, to dessert. I enjoyed the food, but it didn't wow me. I like that I can get Mexican coke here, which has sugar as the sweetener and comes in glass. One downside to my experience were the bathrooms. The two options are gender friendly, so I went in one, left and went in the other, and decided to hold it and left. The amount of piddle on the seats and floor made me wonder if the person(s) using the joint had vision and depth perception issues. As a female I know some women can be very disgusting so it's probably the fault of both sexes, but I didn't want to try to hover and walk out with someone's water on the soles of my shoes. What makes it 4* then? This place recycles. I asked since I recycle and would have brought the glass home with me if it didn't. I was pretty amazed the other day to find out that Kaladi doesn't recycle. The amount of paper and other recyclable materials that comes out of the different shops is probably mountainous, and with the yuppie/trendiness of the business you'd think it would. I've been here a few times and love the Great White Buffalo grilled cheese. It is amazing and goes great with the tomato basil dipper it comes with. Don't order the pepperoni pizza, just stick with grilled cheeses and beer. If it weren't for me liking that sandwich so much I probably would stop coming here. The service has always been consistently bad. I know a ton of people love this place and think it's a shame the great food and beer aren't supported by great service. I have seen plenty of people that are attended to quickly and decided to give 4 stars vs 3 since it seems like I may just have bad timing. They would benefit from a new system on making sure people are greeted and checked on more often. I've "sat wherever" but have usually done so for up to 10 minutes before I was talked to by anyone and given the chance to order. I gave this spot so many chances before I left a review but have yet to see improvements. Definitely ordering over the phone to go for now on. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The reviews were glowing about this place. But sadly i cannot say I have come to the same conclusion. Most complains I read prior to ordering from here were long wait times and cold food. Those were not the class at all. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The wait time was completely reasonable and by the time I got to my hotel 15-20 minutes later, my food was still hot. My main complain was how overly greasy my grilled cheese was and how insanely salty my tots were. I went through about 7 large napkins eating the sandwich. Was it flavorful? Yes. But i also had accumulated enough grease on my hands by the time I was done to cook three more sandwiches. I understand some type of grease is needed to make the sandwich but this was a little excessive. Also, I tried to shake the tots around inside the box to possibly get rid of the extra amounts of salt. No luck. The salt was coated on there somehow. I need to push them aside and drink some water. I felt my blood pressure rising from the salt. I'm hoping this was a one off bad day, like we all have. I may possibly go back to give this place another shot. read more

Is it a little spendy for a sandwich? Maybe. But what I liked about the french dip was that it wasn't just this huge chunk of bread with some meat and cheese thrown it. It was a sexy, stacked sandwich. I enjoyed the ratio of bread to filling, and the amount of dip was perfect for me without it turning into a sopping sad mess. The bread surprised my by holding up so well even though it wasn't "big" and I loved the crust on the outside but the chew on the inside. When you're craving a hot sandwich, it definitely is the type that keeps you wanting to take another bite. I've yet to try the spot in person but based off of what I've had, I'm sure I'd enjoy it even more with the BREW! read more

You order at the front like a Pandora or Qdoba and you get a number. The problem is... the menu isn't available at a distance and I felt like I was rushed to make a decision because people were lining up behind me. Once you order, you sit anywhere. I had asked if bar was open seating and, fair enough, no one said anything. However, I noticed that the bar tender was refilling beers and I wondered how you paid for the beers after the first you ordered. After a while, the bartender brought checks for everyone. I felt a little foolish that I was sitting at the bar at that point. I suppose now I know. Good little spot for lunch or sharing a meal. I'll definitely look at the menu ahead of time. read more
