The sandwich was warm and served with these soft, flaky, square croissant buns. The egg had a soft tofu-like texture. The melted cheese pulled it all together. The onion jam was good but I could do with a little less. Nonetheless, I would not opt out of getting the onion jam; it was unique. The cafe is very spacious and aesthetically pleasing. I love the interior and the way it's decorated. It's modern, warm, and inviting. We would definitely love to come back one day.

You can sit at the collection of tables in the apartment lobby, which includes a set of giant steps and huge windowsill bench. It's all a bit unconventional but very cozy. They also have access to the building's WiFi, so you can easily spend all day here. Food: Outstanding coffee and snacks, all of which is pretty affordable priced. I got an americano and black sesame mochi cake, which came out to less than $10...honestly unheard of in much of SF. The americano was outstanding. Progeny is focused on ethically sourced Colombian coffee, and you can really see their love for the country and product in every cup. The coffee is fragrant, slightly fruity, but not overly bright.
