I had the Steak and Squash Bowl...and proceeded to eat every single bite! The steak was seasoned well and so tender...would have loved a bit more char on the squash but that magnificent mix of asparagus, spinach and mushrooms was soooo good! New combo to make at home! What a great find. I had no idea this restaurant existed by my Company's offices until a late uber ride last night. I was intrigued that it was within walking distance and that the menu and photos looked enticing. I ordered the coffee - they had almond milk! And a breakfast burrito with the pork green chili on top. Every bite was super delicious. The pork was tender and accompanied the beans in the burrito very well. Brought a friend here for Sunday brunch. True to BC form- the server was super nice, the atmosphere was chill and the restaurant was clean and inviting! My initial Monte Cristo sandwich came out looking like it had a long hard night- my server noticed me looking at it, and agreed that it looked extremely tired. We (myself and my companion) agree that this is the best meal we've had in a very long time. The food is delicious, light, and fresh. The steak needed no sauce and the home fries are the best I have ever had. We ate a lot in one sitting. The egg white veg omelette is top tier, almost forgot there was no meat inside. It was that good. I felt a little nauseous when I came in because I wasn't feeling so hot and I ordered the carrot ginger juice they have and it knocked my nausea right out... it was good. Parking - It can get busy, but there are a good number of spaces since it's located in a shopping center. Food - The Bird is one of my go-to items. It's a great omelet, especially with the herb cream cheese. The potatoes aren't too flavorful, so ask for ketchup or their house made hot sauce. Service - Service at this location is slow. This is the fist place I have been to that serves a proper cup of tea. The water was boiling and the pot was strong. (Yes aim British why do you ask?!) I was supposed to find out that the tea was decaffeinated! Suited me. Only found out as I was ordering a second pot as asked for decaffeinated! My food was so tasty. What a delight to have smoked salmon that was not too salty or fishy. I ordered the salmon and egg toast with a side of avocado. I come here at least once a week now when I get out of work. I work long 12 hour shifts and I get out in the morning. It has become such a comfort to be able to sit at the bar and relax here and just have some peace and quiet along with the friendly service from the staff after hectic nights. The food is always consistent and the servers always have excellent recommendations. I highly recommend the huevos rancheros! We arrived for a late Sunday breakfast, probably around 11 & were told it would be 20 minutes. We barely stepped back outside to wait for a table and our buzzer went off. I debated between the French toast and and omelet but the garlic herb cream cheese in The Bird sounded so good I opted for the omelet. Shortly after we ordered, another server passed us by carrying a plate of the French toast to one of her outside customers. I almost, almost tapped on the window to get the guy's attention & ask if I could take a picture of his food (he was taking a pic, too) but I thought that might be kinda creepy so I didn't. But seriously, that French toast looked so damn good I wanted to change my order. I thoroughly enjoyed my Bird omelet and fresh fruit though. Kind of weird seats because the barstools don't move and they are a little far from the counter. So you have to do this awkward lean to eat. Not the most comfy but it worked and we didn't have to wait. Service was prompt. Never got our waters refilled and then when we asked, she only refilled one. Food was good. Me and my wife went in yesterday for breakfast we got sat and watched two other couples get sat after us and yet our server jack went to the other tables first greeting them and took their order. He then finally proceeded to get us drinks and take our order which he messed up and only rang in one plate thank god my wife asked him before our food came out so he added my plate. The food is good but the service was honestly the worst I've ever had and I am a server!! We were sitting on an end booth and 3x he reached over our booth to get tea and water for the other tables and not once asked us if we needed anything or how our food was. Finally I asked for the check bcz as a former server I didn't receive any service at all! He only went to the tables that were in suits and dressed up nice which I think is funny bcz I would have tipped him more than anyone in there being a former bartender and server myself. This is my second time at the breakfast club this week! I really like their Huevos Rancheros, I added tinga & it was super fulfilling. The portions are pretty big. My fiancé got the steak and eggs which were fabulous! The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, I also really liked their potatoes! Service was great & the food came out pretty quick.
