We had to wait for almost half an hour, which I guess it's not bad in Orange County. The service was great! I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was very tasty. There is lots of parking space. There is also Trader's Joes and a Target nearby, so we were able to spend our time there while waiting to be seated. Definitely go back again. read more

Meh honestly a little disappointed my first visit there.... Mainly the chicken sausage just ate like a flat tire not a great selection. The potatoes should be hot and somewhat crispy these tasted like a leftover being kept warm. The coffee was not good either - sorry. Perhaps the coffee they use is the stronger tasting maybe warn people and offer a mild for us regular folks. Super good location! read more

Solid brunch option for UCI students since it's super close to campus. I go there frequently before my morning classes and have recently ordered the breakfast burrito (great option, hits the spot as a standard burrito) and the cluck monsieur eggs benedict. I have to say their plates are super filling and worth the price for brunch. read more

No kids menu? Nope. Cafe de olla is amazing, but it is served in a smaller cup than regular coffee and it is more expensive. You have to flag somebody down to get a refill. Steak and eggs was delicious! Pancakes could have been more moist. They were just ok and I expected more from a breakfast focused place like this one. Get here early to avoid long lines. No reservations and your full party must be present to be seated. Decor is all about the theme and super cute! read more

Happy Sunday everyone Decided to try a new breakfast spot today and found this cute place. It's in the middle of UCI center next to a Trader Joe's Breakfast was amazing and the service was awesome. Our waitress was friendly and so helpful. Shout out to Laura Had the Portuguese linguisa sausage scramble.. really tasty. The potatoes could use some seasoning though. Coffee was good. We had a late brunch over the weekend. Majority of group were vegetarian. After food was delivered, we asked waiter to identify what the fake meat was in 2 entrees. Waiter was rude and at one point said, before you order, you should have read the menu when we inquired. For the defensiveness of his responses and just lack of disregard attitude, I would not go back. We didn't send food back irritable waste it, we simply asked him to help us identify the "fake" meat. read more

Breakfast Republic ... yall have a really fun way of naming your dishes and bringing some great food/flavors together. 1- The restaurant has a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. It can run tight, but they are very accommodating. They do get busy, and parking can be a bit of a search. I would recommend parking closer to target where the 2-hour parking is. Also, when you check in up from, just be aware... their messaging system is.. kind of irritating... I got an initial text , then a second text saying to check in with the host... then when the table was ready, I got a phone call from an unknown number.... and I usually will not pick those up. They had not explained that this was going to happen after I had checked in... soooo I did dock yall for that. 2- The hosts were great. The only thing that we had a problem with was that our order changes and added sides did not come out until we te requested them. Outside of that, they did check on us, and it was busy, so I did not dock you there because... it was that busy for all of you. I saw how hard yall were working!!! 3- The food was delicious. I got the steak and eggs, the eggs were perfect over easy, I did order a med rare steak, but it was more rare and that can happen with flank steak if you are not careful. The in between on a flank steak requires attention since it can cook quickly. I would recommend going through deeper cuts, and this will allow you to cook and sear to get some of that char, allow for more cooking and a bigger portion size. I'm assuming you leave out the thinner cuts because they will be more cooked than the thicker parts.the hashbrowns were delicious it was just missing the crispy element... Outside of that, I still enjoyed my meal. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and you have some amazing dishes, so I will be back to give some of your other dishes a go. If you are looking for a good breakfast spot, I would not turn down a trip to Breakfast Republic. read more

I came into this establishment not too long ago with a friend to enjoy breakfast but found our waiter to be rude. Our waiter kept giving my friend weird looks and wouldn't stop staring making us feel very uncomfortable. When it came to pay I took out my card and she almost sort of snatched it from my hands. I was also trying to give her the handheld card reader back after she place it on our table to put in the tip. Great little place located in the University Center across from my Alma Mater UCI. A lot has changed from whence I attended and graduated from there and all of it more or less is a good thing. Breakfast Republic is one that can be considered a good change that opened up in this center. You really can't miss it as it's between the Regal theater and Trader Joe's. We got there just in time because after we were seated and ordered there was a good queue stacking up waiting to be seated. Menu is NOT extensive, but that's a good thing in my opinion. Sometimes when there's too much on the menu you end up with analysis paralysis and can't decide on what to order. They have a bevy of drinks/coffees to choose from. My wife ordered a Michelada, my daughter an ube latte (sounds strange but quite good), I ordered the salted caramel latte and that was SOOOO good. For our brunch, wife ordered the avocado toast with a balsamic reduction and topped with micro greens, pomegranate and strawberry scattered throughout the order. Daughter ordered the cinnamon toast pancakes with walnuts and a sugary glaze drizzled over it. I had some of her leftovers and it was amazing, pancakes were light and airy and had that comfort of cinnamon toast I'm sure you're familiar with. Son ordered shrimp and grits, he loved his dish so much as it was devoured before I was half way through my meal. I ordered the shrimp frittata. My dish was done right, eggs were fluffy and bell peppers were not over cooked so there's that bite to it. There were pieces of asparagus mixed in as well to provide some extra texture to the meal. This restaurant has been on my list for awhile. Ever since I saw the one in SD years ago with a crazy line. Finally got to try it and was really excited. I feel like we ordered the wrong things though. Parking is super easy. Wait time is not crazy. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great, speedy, and friendly. Vibes were cute. This spot was ticking every box! My favorite part of the meal was the coffee. Cafe de Olla had some mixed reviews (mainly due to consistency). However when we went, that drink was delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and bitter. I would come back just for this coffee. Jurassic Bloody Mary was an over the top experience. It was good. The sparkling strawberry screwdriver was sweet if you like your drinks more on the fruity like a mocktail side. The food is served on overly large plates that leave no room on your table. We were two people and ordered two dishes. We struggled with table Tetris. Presentation gave "it's bigger in Texas" vibe" for sure. Crab and Crawfish Benedict was good but the hollandaise sauce was very thick which was disappointing. The potatoes were delicious though. The pancakes . The coconut one was the best one. The strawberry cheesecake was alright. The Oreo one was a little laughable. There was unmelted slabs of cookie butter on top and in the middle of the the two pancakes. I feel like it shouldn't have been presented like that and it was hard to enjoy cold butter on a lukewarm pancake. For us, we'll stick to the coffee and the potatoes. Still a god spot if you want to have a larger group. If we come back, we'll avoid the dishes we ordered and try something else. read more

I had high expectations coming in since my visit to the San Diego location, but this Irvine location just doesn't hit the same. Service is excellent even though they looked a bit understaffed. Our server was the sweetest and gave us recommendations for drinks. We ordered the s'mores french toast with a side of house potatoes and buttermilk pancake. The french toast was pretty sweet, so if you're not a dessert person, don't order this as your only dish. The house potatoes balanced out the french toast with its savory flavor and the buttermilk pancake might just be the best thing we ordered. The batter was pretty much perfect! Drinks wise, I recommend the salted caramel latte, tried the oreo latte but I'm not a fan. There's an outdoor patio seating so there's a lot of natural sunlight inside the restaurant. We used to eat here every time we came to UCI. I would say at least 5 times. Today's will be our last due to the disorganization of how patrons are seated and the quality of food. We checked in at 10:36AM and were told there will be 30 to 40 minutes wait. We waited patiently outside in the rain under umbrellas while other patrons were offered the choice to sit under patio instantly. When our name was called after 1 hour, the usher (may be manager) offered us a table under the patio and were told that we had to wait more if we wanted an inside table even though we are next. Kudos to the waitress who offered us an inside table. Later, rain was gushing onto that patio table while others were dining there. The food has gone worse too with potatoes getting too salty and stale like others' reviews and the omelet is not fluffy. We feel it's no longer worth the 1.5 hours wait for the food. read more

It was just ok. The ambiance and service were very nice but I probably wouldn't come back. I love all the nice little touches that make it feel brunch themed. But for me, food matters most and nothing was special about it. My boyfriend got the protein lover and unfortunately it tasted like something I could've made myself. It's not bad tasting, but I wouldn't order this and go for something else. The strawberry mascarpone was slightly better! Loved that bread, but the fillings weren't very flavorful. The surprising star was the brussel sprouts. I love brussel sprouts and this hit the spot. Excited to try this very busy place on a Sunday and snagged bar seating. Ordered the chilaquiles which were good, however beans were okay and rice was very bland and not authentic. Husband got the breakfast burger it was great he said. The Bloody Mary was too spicy for me to enjoy and the ketchup also has spice which was not my personal favorite as they have a personal brand of condiments. Jurassic bacon for the Bloody Mary came out very slow and appeared and tasted more like ham than bacon. Service was fantastic though! read more

We visited a little after they opened on Sunday so there were maybe two tables sat, but no staff to be found anywhere. We walked in to look around after a few minutes and someone told us to take a seat anywhere. When our server finally did greet us he apologized for taking so long and mentioned he only had a few hours of sleep and was "out of it". Not really something I needed to know, but made sense as the service was subpar and we even watched our food sit ready in the window for 5 minutes. I would have let him know, but both him and the bartender had disappeared. I ordered the San Diego Benedict and my husband ordered the Chilaquiles. Both were okay plates, nothing too special about them. However, I also got a Caramel salted Latte which was the best part of breakfast. If you like caramel it's a must try! I tend to brag to people about how I have THE Breakfast Republic eatery a walking distance from campus! I've passed by this place every time I'm at UTC because I shop at Trader Joe's, it's so convenient. This place doesn't accept reservations, there's even a sign so prepare to wait with your party beforehand. Standard breakfast and brunch spot with some specialities! The environment is quite loud, but what do you expect for a popular eatery?! It sure creates a lot of attraction from the outside, especially the cute egg decorations. The wait staff were patient with my group because we were waiting on one of our friends who was running late. They made sure we were okay with the wait and asked us if we were ready. Once seated, we got our food fairly quick and it was pipping hot! Cluck Madame Benedict: 8/10 -The waitress recommended this as it's an elevated version of the classic. She was correct! This dish was delicious and perfectly seasoned. I was stuffed afterwards, but it was worth it. Not a heavy dish compared to the benedicts I have in the past.
