Better then ever! Renovated outside, tablecloths inside, food outstanding! Still "flavortown" to us. Waitstaff are the best. And, don't forget, they take reservations too!

Ok people here we go. So we have been hearing about this place called Brick Oven pizza BYOB with 1and that their chicken parm is better than Spano's in Point Pleasant. So we have to try, I'm a Spano's fan. We pull up to a small parking lot on the point of a road and the outside looks like a basic pizza shop nothing exciting or inviting. We walk in and are immediately hit with the brick oven pizza aroma and I loved it. The hostess was super nice and sat us immediately on a Sunday at 5:30 pm. Our waitress Dominique came to our table and she was very nice and professional announcing the specials which sounded wonderful. Andrea ordered the grouper over pasta for $30. I ordered the chicken parm over pasta for $27. While waiting they gave us fresh warm bread with oil and Parmesan cheese. Very fresh and good. Wow food came with a ticket time of approximately 10 minutes and the portions are way above average. Now remember everyone has different tastes. The chicken was done perfect and very fresh. How ever I'm not a fan of their sauce because they make it with pepper so it has a slightly bitter taste. The grouper again very fresh but the menu should say it fried. I don't feel a $30 grouper should be fried. But again it was good. For dessert we had the limoncello cake $7 and the pistachio cake $8. Both were fresh and delicious. Total cash bill was $76 and credit card bill was $79. All in a very nice small place with big portions and good food. I will come back and try something without the sauce. As of now Spano's chicken parm is still the winner for me.

So when we needed a dinner location in the Brick, I figured we would try this location. Upon my early arrival, I was seated in the west facing room with ample natural light. There was only one other table of "early birds" nearby and they were loud but entertaining. Our waitress greeted me and brought some water and an ice bucket. I perused the menu while waiting for my friends. To my delight, this place is MUCH larger than Manahawkin. There are at least three rooms. Regardless, by the time we left, it was very busy. reservations are highly recommended. When my friends arrived, our waitress reviewed the menu additions. We decided on the oysters, octopus, arugula salad and the cod special. Everything was excellent. Service and pace were perfect. Plates promptly cleared, bread replentished. We shared a tiramisu and I had a double expresso. We will definitely return. I will take some photos on my next visit.

Is this the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to?…read more Actually, yes, it is. And I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants. The wait for a table was 45 minutes, but it was worth every minute. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We ended up being seated in a back patio room and though it was very hot outside (one of those 100 degree days last summer), it was actually very nice in there. The show started with someone asking for our drink order, then coming back with said drinks. After that she brought out some starts on the house, courtesy of chef and owner Joe. We were off to a great start! Soon after she returned to get our dinner order. After that, Chef Joe himself showed up to our table to thank us for visiting his restaurant and ask how we liked things so far. We let him know those starters were perfect...eggplant balls and a corn/tomato salad. Eventually our dinner came. Both dishes were waaaaaaaay more food than either of us expected. I had ordered chicken with mozzarella squares on top and drizzled in balsamic, which was a special created by Chef Joe's wife, according to the menu. My partner got eggplant parm...and wow, what a pile of food it was. Two huge eggplant pieces piled high with delicious sauce and served with some delectable pasta. Chef Joe came back to the dining room awhile later to ask people how their entrees were, and we let him know this was a great experience. I want to go back to Point Pleasant just to get here again. This time I will make a reservation.
