My wife ordered the Cheese Steak Sandwich with no veggies and we both agreed these were some of the best sandwiches we've ever eaten. The staff made the experience even better. Here's why: I walked in, placed my order, was clear on my instructions and preferences, the order was not read back to me to ensure accuracy (not a big deal, right? but I'll address that shortly) and the clock began to tick. Four individuals walked into the store, two were Doordash pickups and the others placed their orders. One female cook was in the kitchen taking care of everything that was sent to the kitchen printer, while another guy was meandering through the stockroom adjacent to the register, and the male cashier asked both of them if he could take his break. Mind you, there were multiple orders, prep work needed to completed, and yet only one person was doing the work, the lone line cook. 15 to 20 mins went by and all four of the other orders were completed and I was the last man standing. Shaking my head and wondering what could have gone wrong or better here, I decided to speak up to the cook and inquire about my order. Then out came the sandwich not prepared per instructions, it was missing grilled onions, raw onions, lettuce, and chipotle sauce on my sandwich... clearly the overworked cook didn't even bother to read the ticket and just cooked chicken and cheese on the grill. The guy meandering through the stockroom suddenly appeared, and they scrambled to fix my order. Overall I have to give this store a 1 star rating as they haven't quite conceptualized the meaning of teamwork, and that confirming orders at the time they are made, then reading the ticket again to ensure proper preparation would have suited them better. Undoubtedly I am disappointed that I paid 24 dollars for a chicken cheesesteak, cold fries and a Gatorade when I could have enjoyed a sit down meal for that price and received better service. They have a separate catering menu that includes a wonderful variety of entrees and sides. It was served buffet style with staff available to help serve. The au ju is flavorful, not too salty and doesn't leave some coat of something on your tongue.. the swiss/onion bread works so so well with everything.. the flavor of the Swiss cheese goes well with the au ju. We've had a few different sandwiches. my fiancée loved the meatloaf one and we both love the recent weekly specials.. This week is the chicken curry salad sandwich and last week was the Carolina pulled pork.. I lost my mind with that one.. so so flavorful. I couldn't stop eating it. I forgot it was a weekly special and we got it on the last day. So so sad.. wish it was a regular on the menu.. They have a list of sandwiches but you can also make your own and choose which bread you want on any of them. The thing I love about them is you can order a half sandwich. A couple of times I have asked the counter person if they sell pork belly uncooked as it is a butcher shop and they have plenty of uncooked meat. But she says they do not. I wish I did so it would save me a trip to blue ribbon butcher. I have not tried any of the deli foods, but they have a nice menu. It is always clean, the people are always friendly and the quality seems to always be there so I will continue to shop here for last minute items or if I want to save a trip to town.
