My trip to California this week has truly been about Mexican food and donuts! I again need it to stop in and grab donuts for a meeting so I decided to give this place a shot. I learned that most donut shops in California are cash only operations. This donut shop while smaller than the others that I've visited, still had a nice variety of different donut options. But the big winner here was their endless line of what seemed like millions of different coffees and creamers. I went with the room caramel coffee and regular creamer and it was beyond tasty! I didn't even need a doughnut after having such a sweet and delicious coffee. I would totally come back here to grab a coffee and to sit outside in their cute tables and chairs and people watch. read more

How TF does this place have good reviews when there's BUGS IN THE FOOD?!! Been wanting to try this place for a while from all the good reviews and so we went on a Thursday morning around 10am, not that much selection. First off the lady didn't even say hi or anything. Just asked what we want. She proceeds to rush us (even though there's only one person in the store) and says $4. That's it. Not the best customer service but whatever it's just donuts. We get our donuts and on the drive home I open the bag since I want a bite. I take out a donut and there's an ANT on it. NO WAY that they got there anywhere else but the store since I've literally JUST got the donuts. I look in the bag and there's more ants in the bag. DISGUSTED. So we go back and I ask for a refund and she's says "Sometimes that happens" WHAT?! that's NEVER happened to me before mam and shouldn't happen even "sometimes". This is right by my place and we always walk there in the mornings. It's got the largest selection of coffee. They are cash only! It's worth it. The owner is the sweetest. One time he gave me my entire first meal on the house because I didn't know it was cash only. I had just moved in the neighborhood. I went back the next day and paid him but there's not many people I know that would give me $11 of coffee and doughnuts for free. The doughnuts are always soft and they melt in your mouth. No matter how busy they are, they will always welcome you with a big smile. The food is just as good as the people who make it. Everything is baked daily with high quality ingredients, making their pastries fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend the ham and cheese croissants: flaky, warm and the perfect amount of filling. I love them so much I'm taking half a dozen with me to Peru... The plain cake donut was good However, the raised with chocolate glaze could've had a darker cocoa glaze and it was quite greasy. My favorite neighborhood donut shop! They have so many different kinds of coffee and creamers to choose from. I love their ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant. They will even warm it up for you. This place is cash only, but there is an ATM at the 7-11 across the street. The owners are very nice and used to put tables outside on the sidewalk before Covid. Perhaps they will again someday. The place is clean and they have juices, milk, sodas and bottled waters. The donuts are also really good, I'm not a fan of donuts in general but I have tried them here from time to time and they are good. CASH ONLY (just like every other family owned donut shop, so no surprise at all). I'm always happy to bring a dozen Broadway Donuts to my work when I can (my coworkers absolutely love it too!). They are always so surprised at the high quality. A bakers dozen runs around $10, really decent deal! The taste is always fresh and I never feel like the dough is overly heavy in my stomach. The dough is so soft! The sizes of the donuts are very comparable to other donut shops. They even have a couple of "designer" flavors like red velvet, but they never fail to impress with the old fashion favorites. Parking can definitely be a challenge directly in front of the shop, but luckily parking is all over the place during their business hours (just make sure to pay attention to the signs in case of street sweeping). It's Long Beach, don't be afraid to walk a block or two; it's a very safe neighborhood. The inside has always been really clean, the space is used very well. The owners will provide about two small tables outside to enjoy their products, but it's really more or a grab and go type of place. Lucky for you, the surrounding area is an extremely walkable environment and I suggest you take a walk around and enjoy the historical homes in the area! The owners have always been extremely pleasant and I'm always happy to come in and support this small business. They do close a little early in the day, but I feel that their business hours really reflect the freshness of their product. Was feeling a bit jetlagged so I decided the to make the best out of the situation and get some fresh donuts at 4am! I debated going to m&m donuts for their fresh blueberry donuts, but decided it was too far and not worth the wait. I'm glad that I decided to go to Broadway donuts instead! When I first entered the store, I was greeted by an old Cambodian man and about three trays of donuts. Even though it was only three trays of donuts, there was an assortment of almost every kind of donut which made me question if they were day old. I asked him if these were yesterday's donuts and he laughed and said "We have been baking donuts all night! We never sell day old donuts!" It kind of made feel bad, but I just had to make sure! I ended up getting a blueberry donut, a maple old fashioned, a jalapeno ham and cheese, and then even came back for another jalapeno turkey and cheese croissant. The blueberry and maple donut wasn't the "just hot off the rack" that I'd been dreaming of but I could still tell it was very fresh! The main star goes to the jalapeno ham and cheese and the jalapeno turkey and cheese croissant. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it was! They really don't skimp out on the amount of turkey, ham, or cheese put into each croissant! I wish there was a bit more jalapeno but I never think anything has enough jalapeno or spice to it. The croissants were piping hot and they literally pulled it straight from the oven into a white bag for me. I only meant to share a ham and cheese croissant with my boyfriend at four in the morning but we ended up each getting our own and finishing it. The cutest mom and pop donut shop in Long Beach. The interior is clean and no frills, with minimal decor. Raised and cake donuts, as well as a few danishes and croissants are displayed in the glass case. They have every traditional flavor you could hope for, plus some seasonal options. Coffee is self serve, and the vast selection lines the length of the shop-literally dozens of freshly brewed choices. I was happy to find two almond milk creamers in the lineup as well. My boyfriend brought me a bag of cake donuts from here last week and I was blown away at how delicate, moist, and flavorful they all were. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar. Today I tried a raised Maple Bar, and was equally impressed by the freshness and quality. The vanilla scented dough was light and airy, and the icing tasted of pure authentic maple syrup. Prices are absurdly cheap, and the employees are lovely. To the haters complaining about the "low quality" coffee and limited assortment of flavors-take your wannabe bougie attitudes to one the hundred other 'artisan' donut shops in LA.
