    12 Piece Chicken Family Special

Been passing by this location many many years. Born and raised in Montebello . I can't remember eating this food as a kid decided to stop by from a food creator from IG and best decision I have made. The chicken is perfect seasoning crunchy-ist and cooked from perfection the coleslaw very delicious rolls. Also delicious. The service was also amazing. Please stop by and support this business. They also have lunch specials. Many next Friday I will stop and get the fish and chips which is only $10 where could you paid that for dinner. You will not regret coming to this restaurant.

Chicken was dry. The side portion that would've been fries but changed to mashed potatoes was just about the same size as the dressing. Not impressed.

Broaster Kitchen is a nice fried chicken casual dining restaurant located along W. Beverly Blvd. It shares a small parking lot with the neighboring liquor store among other businesses. The space is moderate, tables and chairs lined along the right side of the restaurant. Framed pictures all along the wall. Most of the front space is the counter and cake display (empty at the time I visited). I came for dinner and placed a pick up order. I ordered the 10 & 10 which included 10 mixed pieces of their fried chicken with 10 pieces of broasted potatoes. I also ordered two slices of their cheesecake which at the time was all they had left. The chicken was great, nice and crispy skin with not too much greasiness. It had a nice basic seasoning to it, and was not extremely salty like fast food fried chicken can be sometimes. The meat was juicy and had good salt to it too. I'm not sure how they marinate or brine, but it seems very simple and it works. The broasted potatoes were there large wedges that had been perfectly roasted. I love the skin on potatoes giving a nice texture. Because it was a pick up order the potatoes started to steam in the to go box, so I threw it in my toaster to crisp the skin up. I wish the potatoes were seasoned, I think they are purely roasted so it was basically eating a roasted potatoes which it wasn't bad. I just had to add some of my own preferential seasoning. If you're looking for a no salt option then eating them as is will suit you well. This place touts their homemade pies, however the display in front was empty and upon speaking to the lady at the counter it seems they start baking their pies on Wednesday and sell them through the week into the weekend and whatever is left is available. This includes the mini pies. They had 2 slices of cheesecake left which I took instead. For $4 a slice it seemed a little over priced for how small the slices were (see picture). The mini pies are priced the same so I would like to come back and see for comparison. Flavor was great though, nice compact graham cracker crust, that was buttery and packed together well. The cheesecake base was slightly tangy and sweet, a nicely executed cheesecake. Overall a decent place for fried chicken. If you're looking to support local businesses give this place a try!

I enjoy eating fried chicken very much depends who prepare it and cook the chicken pieces right in a fryer or an old fashion black skillet the best way to cook the chicken right. We have been to many chicken joints from different places in the states and some places in different countries. We decided to come to the Broaster Kitchen this my first time going here and try the fried chicken my wife been there many times. We step then we look at the menu display and decided what to order then my wife order the fish n chips and I order the three pieces mixed meal it comes w. ith fries, roll and Broaster potatoe. Each order is made to order fresh and hot when you receive it. It took about 20 minutes to cook the chicken right then they brought the food it looks good. I took a bite of it it was hot from the fryer but it was juicy and very crispy whe I took a bite. Each pieces was cook perfect each piece have that crispy crunch.. I really enjoy the chicken and Broaster potatoes were very good they two pieces and come with fries and roll. My wife did enjoy her fish n ship but it lacking lemon and the malt vinegar that a traditional condiments. The chicken was really good be next time I need to order five pieces.

Me and my Aunt came here for lunch time and order the 10 piece lunch special wings. My sides were coleslaw and potato wedges. The chicken wings were fresh and crispy and love every bite. Me and my Aunt enjoy our meal and had a good experience. Also I took home the banana pudding pie (small) and it was delicious. Hope this helps, Enjoy!!

    The counter. Friendly service.

Used to live in LA and loved going to Howlin' Rays, on this trip back I got to try out the Pasadena spot for the first time. Glad to say it's just as good, if not better, than the original spot given the amount of seating! Arrived around 6 pm on a Friday and waited around 30 minutes to order? Really not bad at all. All the servers were so friendly as always and that really is what makes Howlin Ray's the cream of the crop. The cashier got me a sample of the medium plus to try, as I couldn't remember if I got a medium plus or hot sando. I ordered the luis style sando, no cheese (although I might get the cheese next time to help with the spice) and medium plus, and then a single hot wing because I'm a masochist. My friends ordered the fries (otherwise I would order them as well, fries are amazing!). This location also had Pliny the Elder on tap so I got that as well. I will say, I always go for heat but my friend's got mild and that really slapped as well. The chicken is just so well cooked, I'm lucky I don't live nearby or I'd be here every week. Next time, I might even try a solo country wing! Parking is pretty easy, there's a lot in the back that's pretty packed but doable if you just wait a few minutes.

I know that the long lines seem really intimidating but it's worth it. I love the community feel this place has because all the employees' are friendly and it feels like you're at home. If you want a table, they have these 'reserved' placards placed on the table but it's not really reserved and more so, for one of the employees to "seat" you down at a clean table. Food: Sando medium spice (9.5/10): First time trying medium and it wasn't too spicy. We didn't get rid of anything so it comes with slaw and pickles on top of a spice coated chicken breast sandwiched in between toasted bread. I do wish that the spice was more evenly distributed throughout the chicken since the most spicy part was at the beginning with the solid crunch. The slaw adds a nice freshness with every bite so it doesn't feel as heavy. The pickles add a touch of acidity and I don't think that it was acidic to the point where it overpowered everything. French Fries (9/10): Crispy exterior with a soft, fluffy interior are my cup of tea. The seasoning they use adds a nice spice to each bite. We also got a cup of their comeback sauce and it was the cherry on top.

Two sides I selected were macaroni cheese and coleslaw. Ribs were great with portion of four ribs on intact slab. Cooked well with perfect near fall off the bone meat. Bbq sauce glaze was on point. Next was the tri tip which was decent but way more moist than the brisket. Tritip was sliced thin and decent portion served with what appeared to be Au juice. Brisket was a disappointment because it seemed dry with charred and chewy outer portions. Cuts of brisket were nice and thick though I wish it was better. Hard to beat Texas style brisket especially as it labeled on their menu as such with a premium (slightly higher price). Macaroni and cheese was good as well as the coleslaw. Coleslaw was dressed well and not overly mayo which I enjoyed. I'm glad I was hungry and went with the extra meat added. Price point were a little steep as compared to quality.
