We loved the original location but then as Broken Yolk expanded , we found that the quality has suffered . Today , however , on a whim, we tried this Glendora location for the first time and we were very pleased- to the point where we may add it to our Sunday breakfast rotation. We added ourselves to the waitlist app and were seated within the quoted time frame. Inside was bright and clean and we loved the lively atmosphere. Our host was very friendly and made quick conversation as we were seated and Searrah was our wonderful server. Not many good things can be said about service these days, so Searrah is a breath of fresh air. She came quickly to take our drink orders and then when we couldn't decide on which pancakes we wanted, she gave us a great recommendation of Nutella and fresh strawberry pancakes . We were not disappointed. The portion was huge and while Nutella is typically sweet , there was just the perfect amount where no syrup is necessary. We really enjoyed our meal and experience at The Glendora Broken Yolk and will for sure be back! read more

My first time at a broken yolk was in Vegas so I was super excited to have one in my neighborhood. There is ample parking outside the location. And there was zero wait time on a busy Sunday morning. Always a solid brunch option in the area. We put our name on the waitlist via Yelp (highly recommend) for a party of 2. Wait was a bit over an hour for New Year's Day. Service was great. We ordered the classic eggs Benedict, chilaquiles (half red, half green) with steak, and the churro French toast. The churro French toast was amazing - perfect fluffiness and sweetness. Half and half chilaquiles is a must when you're unsure if you want red sauce or green sauce. The classic eggs Benedict is always solid We ordered coffee, mocha latte (so good!!) and a side of Baileys for the filtered coffee. Their Bloody Mary is also delish! Really wish i had something to say about the food but I decided after 12 minutes (how do I know it was 12 minutes you ask?? I got a text message from my mom saying enjoy breakfast) I got up and just walked out. We were given waters and asked what we wanted to order within a minute of sitting down and asked for a couple more minutes. That's when the ghost show happened. I think the whole restaurant had two servers working the floor and with the prices they charge, they should be able to afford one or two more to make the guest experience better. Not sure if I'll even attempt to come back since the food looks identical to Denny's (which is right down the street and where I ended up). I guess they'll survive though, good luck to them. read more

We first went to a Broken Yolk Cafe in San Diego several years ago when we stayed in the Gaslamp Quarter for our anniversary, probably 2015. Since then, we've visited this location (Glendora) numerous times, starting in 2019. This review is based on a composite of all of our visits to the Glendora Broken Yolk Cafe. When we first started coming here, we'd roll in around 10:30 a.m. on a weekend and wait a solid 45 minutes for a table. This place is popular, perhaps the most popular breakfast spot in town, and the wait reflects as much. I hate waits, and it's pretty rare for me to not say "that's okay--next time" when faced with more than a 15 minute wait; nevertheless, more often than not, I'd stick around for Broken Yolk Cafe. After the pandemic, during which I managed to get myself onto a decent sleep schedule, we started coming in around 8:30. As one might expect, wait times are much shorter this early in the morning. Food: The food at Broken Yolk Cafe is incredible. From the six varieties of French toast to at least eight varieties of Eggs Benedict and everything in between, the breakfast offerings here are without peer. Back before I got my diet in order, my go-to item was the Ranchero Skillet. A massive, zesty, and absolutely satisfying meal, the Ranchero Skillet never failed to fill me up. I can also recommend the Sope Benedict, a delicious Mexican spin on a classic breakfast favorite, and any of the French toasts. Nowadays, I go in for healthier fare, and Broken Yolk Cafe still has me covered. The Greek Omelet is wonderful yet healthy, and the Steel Cut Oats are filling and guilt-free. Service: The service is pretty solid here. I've never had bad service, and I've frequently had excellent service. Food comes out quickly, and the wait staff are always polite and professional. My wife is a member of the rewards program here, and the servers are helpful in processing any discounts we may have. If one were to corner me and force me to come up with one criticism, I'd say refills can sometimes be slow, but that very much depends on the server, and slow refills are more of an exception than a norm. I've got a pretty old fashioned mindset regarding coffee refills during breakfast--I feel like the cup should never be empty, but times are changing, and I recognize this probably says more about me than anyone else. Ambiance: The décor here is a clean take on the modern semi-industrial style. Broken Yolk Cafe's interior features a large seating area with a mix of large and small tables in the center bordered by booths on the periphery. There is also a decent semi-enclosed patio for al fresco dining with a mountain view. I prefer eating indoors, so I only sit in the patio if a companion brings a dog. The restaurant is well air conditioned, which is so important on hot days like today, and the copious amount of natural light is supplemented by just the right amount of interior lighting. It's a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. I don't know what more I can say. I only come here for breakfast, so I cannot comment on their lunch offerings, but given how terrific everything I've eaten here is, I imagine the lunch is just as great. If you find yourself in Glendora or any of the neighboring cities, come on down to Broken Yolk Cafe for a great meal at a decent price. read more

Didn't have to wait too long to get seated, which was a plus because I was so hungry! I've been here once before but wanted to try their Choose 2 Benedicts deal. I got the Chicken & Waffle Benedict and their Golden State Benedict with hash browns and, I enjoyed the poached egg that came with both. Though the benedicts themselves were a smaller serving size than I had hoped for the price ($17.95), the flavor was good and I was still full after finishing the meal. I would come back again for another brunch date if given the option. Just make sure you don't come during a time that's too busy--their parking lot often gets full! read more

Bad experience with a server named Natali. I dont like posting negative reviews when it's not food related but thos warranted a post for me. My breakfast was ok, my service was ok by other servers on Sunday. This girl in particular had attitude from beginning to end. Broken Yolk was recommended to us by a friend. Service was very friendly and attentive. They weren't too busy on a weekday morning, and there was plenty of parking. Sweet trio: The cinna cake was too sweet and also burnt pretty badly, so it tasted bitter too. The tiki toast was good, but the blueberries were a bit mushy. And lastly the crunchy french toast came pretty soggy and bland, despite the raspberry sauce on top. Ranchero skillet: Very savory. Potatoes were cooked perfectly, but it was a bit too salty for us. I did feel bad eating it because there was a puddle of oil at the bottom. I felt like prices were super reasonable, considering it was american brunch. However, the food was either burnt, too sweet, or too salty for us this morning. Closer to 3.5/5, but I'm rounding up because the staff was nice. read more

Been here a few times but haven't had the chance to post a review. The place isn't hard to find, parking may be a challenge on busy days like weekends. We always use the waitlist here on Yelp to reserve a spot in the line and avoid waiting a bit to be seated. You check in at the said time and wait shortly to be seated. We always get great servers and the ambiance gives a waterfront vibe with coastal decors on walls. So many selections on their menu and fairly priced for the portion of food. They also have a bar section, which is a cool touch. We tried the following: 1. Sope Benedict: corn tortilla instead of English muffin was an interesting touch to the item, served with house fries (giving cottage fries feel). All in all great in taste and seasoning. 2. Machaca: scrambled eggs and beef is good, Mexican rice a bit on the salty side, refried beans already very salty and topped with parmesan made it more salty. All in all taste is good. read more

After about an hour, the owner came over and rudely told us we were "holding two tables over a Coke" and pressured us to order more. I understand businesses need customers to make purchases, but there is a respectful way to communicate that. What made the situation worse was that after I ordered a coffee, she immediately turned to my friend and basically stared him down with a strict look, clearly expecting him to order something too. I explained that we were going to split the coffee, because we're both trying to lose weight, but she continued making the situation uncomfortable. Staring down a customer and making them feel pressured to spend more money is not how you treat paying customers. What makes this even more frustrating is that the menu is already severely overpriced for what is offered. On multiple occasions, I've heard the microwave running while food was being prepared. Paying premium prices for what appears to be microwaved food is disappointing enough without being pressured to spend even more. Even though we only ordered a Coke initially, and have only done that once before, we were still spending money. As regular customers who come here often, you would think that would be appreciated rather than criticized. Be thankful people are still choosing to spend money at your business.
