Breakfast burrito is full of potato's and flavorless eggs. You will find a small amount of bacon and avocado and a sprinkle of cheese. Let's not forget the mini size of salsa they give you for the huge burrito filled with potato and egg. Very bland and no flavor at all will pass. read more

Horrible service. Right from walking in, felt we were not welcome. Joined the wait list for 2, got text that table was ready. They gave a table to the couple who walked in without the wait list. Then they asked to wait another 10-15 mins. We asked them why they gave the table for 2 to another, she lied, said they were on the wait list. We heard the couple say they were not. excited to try this place since they're new in Irvine. Decor is beautiful but the AC is way too Cold so decide to seat outside. Ordered the chk fried steak & ricotta pancakes and a cup of coffee with milk instead of cream. Food took a long time since it's their soft opening & service was very slow. Chk fried is good but pancakes were thick & NOT cook thoroughly since it was doughy in the middle. Food took along time to come & when our bill came , there was a charge $1.80 for almond milk ? I tell the waiter this was a mistake since I didn't order it. she said it was milk for the coffee. I can't believe they charged me milk $1.80 for less than a 1/4 c and it's only for the coffee. Do they charge cream for coffee too? Shouldn't she tell me ahead it will cost extra $1.80 for this, This is ridiculous! Not coming back. read more

We had a waitress this morning that seemed rushed didn't check on us at all and every time we asked her for something she looked annoyed and walked away. She made us feel like we were annoying her. Funny thing is after such a horrible experience right when she dropped off our check she said we have a beautiful family. How convenient after she drops off the check. Her employee number 3811. Unfortunately we didn't get her name and she had no name tag on . Really bad experience. We were all ready to get out of there. I expect a friendly face willing to make us feel comfortable when we eat at a restaurant. We actually went last weekend and had a phenomenal waitress. I was so excited to try this place. The person who sat us was super nice. I was ready for a great experience. The waitress Alicia was rude from the start. She probably should have repeated back the order to us. I was given the wrong meal. I looked at the person I was with and said I thought I said red. They heard red come out of my mouth. When my food was brought to me it was green.I ordered red chiliquellas. The server told me the red sauce was under the green sauce. The worst part was while we were eating she tossed the bill to my side. Very disappointed in the service and food. Maybe the pancakes are what to order. As for Alicia she shouldn't work with the public, or maybe they need to train her better. I will never step foot in that restaurant again and I will pass the word. WOW! I'd been so excited to try out another breakfast cafe in Irvine! BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED! Yes, it was 11 am on a Sunday and extremely busy, but still my eggs were stone cold and so was my toast. There was plenty of front staff on hand but obviously not enough cooks in the kitchen. Also, the ambiance isn't anything special and it was absolutely freezing inside. This place just recently opened near me and my gf and I had to try it out for breakfast! It wasn't our first time at a Broken Yolk, but it was definitely a new experience. The place was big and open and even had bar seating with the patio opened up, how cool for a spot in Irvine. All that being said, our server Yuridia made it much more special of an experience. She was so kind and helpful as we struggled with the menu and could tell she was enjoying what she was doing!! For sure the life of the party She recommended the Benedict combo and I was sold! The host stand was a nightmare, said we had to wait over half hour when there were open tables. Not sure if servers know how to turn tables quickly and communicate that with hosts. Hosts should be more proactive with resetting tables or sitting open tables to just help with the flow. It seems like additional training is needed for front of house. The huevos rancheros and chilaquiles were great, especially for a restaurant not specializing in Mexican food. There was an issue with the Yelp waitlist, so I suggest going in person. With that said, they got us seated super quick. Our server, Alicia, was excellent and checked in on us often. read more

This place is amazing. If you compare this place with Snooze, it is night and day. Service is excellent, Roger was awesome. They don't rush you and the vibe is just awesome. If you are in the fence between Snooze and Broken Yolk, it should not even a choice, broken Yolk all day. Snooze does not even care if you are not satisfied with their restaurant. Today was their grand opening. Everything seemed to run smoothly. My sever Danny was exceptional and quick. I had my drink and food order taken in less than 5 mins. Danny made sure my bacon was cooked how I liked it. He kept my glass refilled which is a big deal to me. The food was great. I had an amazing experience. Went here for lunch this past weekend. We ordered the breakfast burrito, cinnamon pancakes and a bloody mary. The food was good however the service was terrible. Front of the staff was nice although our server Daniel was very rude. Once we had finished ordering he pointed to my menu and said something along the lines of "you gonna hand me that." We had also asked for lemons for our water and once he brought them he just threw/slid the plate on the table. Our food came out pretty fast but our server never came back to check on us nor refill our waters after he took our orders. About 10 minutes or less went by and he had already brought our check and didn't say a word when he dropped it off. Once again he just threw/slid it on the table. We had also just started eating so I don't know why we would've gotten our check already. We couldn't even enjoy our food because it felt like we were being rushed out of there. We also tried to see how he was treating other tables because we thought he might just be having a bad day. But we noticed he was very nice and professional with other customers and checking in on their tables. Not sure if it was because our order wasn't much and he wasn't expecting much of a tip.
