    Thai Tea Bingsu
    Aleya S.

The best spot in Elk Grove for bingsu! First time trying the thai tea version and the boba that came on the side was a little stale. Otherwise everything else was really good. Flavor and texture was A++. The place was packed on a Friday night and we had to be quick to get a table. It gets pretty noisy! Also please be patient if you order bingsu! It seems like it takes a while to make and they seemed understaffed. Don't forget to tip!

Small cafe serving drinks and bingsu. You order at the kiosk and wait for your name or number to be called. We ordered halo halo bingsu and 3 drinks - ube taro deluxe, guava goddess and butterfly white peach lemon sparkling. Halo halo bingsu was just okay. Shaved ice is light and milky and lychee jelly was good but the canned jack fruit wasn't a good match. The ube cream did not even have the slightest hint of ube flavor. Could do without the marshmallow fluff topping. Similar experience with the ube taro deluxe. No hint of ube but the taro was very good. Guava goddess and butterfly peach was super yummy and tasted like fancy mocktails. Highly recommend these.

Bru Tea's bingsu is so good! I've tried almost all of their bingsoo flavors with my cousins, and they're a great size for sharing. Bingsoo flavor ratings: * 7/10 Strawberry Matcha * 7/10 Thai Tea * 9/10 Mango Coconut The service is always great, and it's a fun spot to share dessert with friends and family!

Disappointed to drink a clump of matcha powder, they don't seem to whisk it through a sieve like Rang coffee does.

This review is for the Jasmine matcha hot with foam and 100% sweetness. The tea is bitter. The matcha is not dissolved- see picture. Did not see option for changing milk. There are lots of topping options. Store looked clean with plenty of seating as I was the only customer on a weekday afternoon. Parking lot available. I ordered by the tablet even though they have a register I was not greeted by the employee. Payment was easy via credit card. The wait was not long. Hope to have better experience coming back for bingsoo.

Found a sweet escape at Bru Tea Cafe. From refreshing fruit to decadent chocolate, their bingsoo game is strong. Not a fan of shaved ice? They have a full menu of milk teas and fruit teas, too. The Lineup: * Mango Coconut Bingsoo: House-milk snow topped with fresh mango, mochi, coconut, sliced almonds, and vanilla ice cream. So light and refreshing! * Chocolate Brownie Bingsoo: A chocolate lover's dream. Loaded with Oreo crumbles, sliced almonds, brownies, chocolate sauce and ice cream. * Creme Brulee Milk Tea: The caramelized foam and brown sugar boba are the perfect pair. The space is cozy and pristine--perfect for a quick catch-up. Plus, the staff is super accommodating! You order at the kiosk, and they even have a bell for assistance. Would definitely come back!

Never disappointed with order, service or vibe. Their shave iced desserts are just amazing. Just enough sweetness, gorgeous to look at, and the lack of guilt having such a delicious and tasty dessert because it's shaved ice, right? It's just within walking distance, so another guilt-free reason to support this local business. Yes, encourage you to run, not walk to taste and experience what I can't fully describe.

A really nice and cute boba shop. They offer caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. They also offered snacks and desserts. You order at the kiosk and they will call your name when it is ready. I have tried few different drinks so far. Each drink, I had the sweetness level adjusted. I am so glad their drinks are not overly sweet. Some other boba places, their drinks are still too sweet even though you have the sweetness level adjusted lower. I tried the coconut coffee, lime orange tea, Hong Kong milk tea and banana cinnamon einspanner. All really good. The drink that stood out the most was the lime orange tea. It was really refreshing. This will be a good choice during summer. Service was nice and friendly. Looking forward to try their other drinks next time.

Stopped in Fri night for something sweet. Ordered the mango coconut bingsoo. You order from the kiosk. The bingsoos here are huge! You can definitely share them. Loved the mango & wish there was more little mochis. Staff were friendly. It wasn't busy when I arrived but shortly after the place filled up.

Biscoff Banana Bingsu (sub whipped cream instead of ice cream)
    Pauline T.

I shared a banana biscoff shaved snow with a friend. It had layers of shaved snow, biscoff crumbles, sliced banana, and banana syrup, It came with a side of condensed milk. They were out of ice cream, so they offered complimentary toppings, including whipped cream, boba, and flan. I added half of the condensed milk, but that made the dessert too sweet so we couldn't finish. We thought the ice cream would've been a lot better, as we weren't a fan of the whipped cream and boba. The flan was really good, but also too sweet with everything. Overall, I did like the layers of snow with biscoff and bananas, but I would do without the toppings we got and only take ice cream if they have it. The service was quick and friendly and the venue was cute with plenty of seating.

Out of all the dessert places I've been recommended to try in Elk Grove, I probably hear about Bru Tea the most. I see why now. It's a small-ish establishment best known for their bingsu, but I dropped with some friends to try their drinks instead. The Lychee Dragonfruit Green Tea has a very refreshing flavor at 50% sweetness. The lychee bits and boba add-on will complement the drink well enough that I might shoot for 25% sweetness next time. Pretty good for $8!

Life is short... Eat more bingsoo ! This is my favorite place for bingsoo in Elk Grove! I will make the drive every time for a sweet treat. There's some seating inside and outside. The drinks I've tried have all been yummy as well. Staff are always kind and attentive. Casual after dinner hangouts or even midday catchups are great for this spot ! I will be returning over and over and bringing all my friends here. Thank you Bru Tea !

Super cool spot. I came here with a couple of friends and had a great time. I ordered the Hong Kong hot milk tea with the mango bingsoo. To my surprise, the Hong Kong milk tea was really good. Love how they have seating areas for us to sit, chat, and enjoy. We talked for a couple of hours, the music is pretty loud but the atmosphere was really nice. This is such a good hang out spot. I'll definitely come back and bring my nieces for the bingsoo! FYI: you will need to place your order on the kiosk, so you won't see anyone at the counter until your order is ready.

For yearrrrs I've been missing out on this delicious melt in your mouth goodness. Why did no one tell me bingsoo is NOT your typical shaved ice! I never bothered to even give bingsoo a chance, thinking it was bland crunchy shaved ice, same ol' asian desserts that are smothered in condensed milk, creating diabetics worldwide. Boy was I SO wrong! I tried their seasonal bingsoo: Strawberry Matcha Bingsoo First look.. in love! So aesthetically pleasing the way everything was placed in small cute cups on a tray with the bingsoo showcased in the middle as a mountain of glory. First bite... mind blown! The shaved ice was incredibly soft, smooth, and melted in my mouth. The matcha flavor was strong and the extras added a variety of texture of squishy mochi and crunchy cornflakes. I like that they put the condensed milk on the side so you can drizzle to taste. The fruits were fresh and nice pairing with the intensity of matcha flavor. The Ube Sesame was also aesthetic and refreshing. They don't skimp on the flavors. I asked for less sweet and it was perfect. The shop is totally made for social media. Decor was on point and the tables have lazy susans for that required dessert spin on reels. They have a screen on the wall that shows how they make the desserts that will have you drooling. I was already planning my next visit for more.

Unfortunately, this one just didn't quite hit the mark for either of us. The matcha flavor was very mild and almost tasted watered down. We both found ourselves wishing for more of that earthy matcha flavor to come through. The strawberry portion also wasn't what we were expecting. I tend to prefer drinks made with fresh or macerated strawberries, and this tasted more like a strawberry jam or puree. If that's your thing, you may enjoy it, but for me it just wasn't my jam. Literally. My friend and I also shared a chicken sandwich. It was okay, but nothing really stood out about it. I found myself wondering what type of chicken was used because the texture wasn't what I expected. It almost reminded me of either canned chicken or shredded rotisserie chicken, but I wasn't entirely sure. The café itself was pleasant enough, and there wasn't anything specifically wrong with the experience. We just both walked away feeling a little underwhelmed overall. Helpful tip: If you're a big matcha fan and prefer a stronger matcha flavor, you may want to ask if they can make it with an extra scoop. Unfortunately, neither the drinks nor the food really wowed us, and with so many great tea and matcha spots around Elk Grove, I'm not sure this would be one we'd rush back to.

Staff is friendly here even while they are busy perfecting our drinks drinks aren't too sweet which i love! I've tried their strawberry matcha and its one of the best I've had. Not too sweet and not too bitter! I also tried their jazzy limeade! Its a unique and refreshing tea perfect for the summer. If you get this drink.. be aware it may seem bitter to people because of its unique flavoring profiles. Get it 75% sweetness and once your ice melts a bit .. the drink is super tasty, unique and refreshing!! they also serve sweet taiyako with unique filling flavors! Idk how they do it but it always comes out super crispy. I've tried these at other dessert spots and always get really soggy or soft taiyakis so I was so shocked how crispy and fresh these were. They do make it on the spot in front of you so maybe that's why?! Or their batter is just high quality. Whatever it is.. im not complaining! This has been my new go to boba spots in Elk Grove! I highly recommend if you're looking for a place to hangout/catch up with friends, get some work done, or just need a yummy treat.

I substitute the dairy or opening, made it less sweet, with less ice. I added boba, And was disappointed because the bubble was not sweetened and there was a lot more food than expected compared to other boba shops. The pearls are also smaller than used to. My other drink was a white peach tea, also. For both milk teas that I received, I could barely taste any tea. Those teas we are also very lightly sweetened when I requested for less sugar. I think that full sweetness actually would be enough sweetness for me since I usually get one level last week anyway. For the third drink, I ordered a enemies coffee, At my second visit, I tried signature fruit tea and the hojicha winter melon tea with pudding. The signature fruit tea was 100% sweetness and was not really sweet. I had also asked for the size. For the winter melon milk tea, I opted for the regular dairy option, which made the drink creamier than the first drinks. I had full sweetness for the string, which was pretty sweet considering that there are winter melon pieces in there, which would be a burst of sweetness. Overall the shop is very clean, plenty of seating. Service was pretty friendly! Overall, this is a solid boba shop for this side of Elk Grove!
