I love this place. Not to mention they have one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. This place is right across from the aquarium so if you go before the aquarium, get validation at the aquarium, it's $8 flat rate. We came here before the aquarium and had a delightful meal. It was 4 of us and we ordered an appetizer of these little shrimp baskets that included fries that were so good. I forgot what they're called but they're like $21 or so. I ordered a steak and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. My husband got the shrimp Mac and cheese and it was so delicious. I invited my parents and Dad got a pasta plate (forgot the name) with shrimp and it was a generous amount that he took some to go. My mom got a plate with fish that had lobster sauce, some spinach and mashed potato and it was delicious. My steak plate also had mashed potatoes and although they were good they tasted a little under seasoned (but still good). It also came with onion rings. I like that they have an area for strollers outside if you don't want to bring it in or you can decide to bring it in. My baby was asleep so I brought it in and it wasn't a problem. Great service and if you haven't been here before there are cute signs with the words "run forrest run " or "stop forrest stop " (after the movie Forrest Gump) that alerts the servers of any requests. So when u turn the sign up that says stop, someone stops by and asks what you need. If you leave the run one on they know you don't need anything...pretty cute idea. Worst experience ever! My wife and I have never been and wanted to try Bubba Gump Shrimp. We had our Dog with us and they were dog friendly. We waited the typical 20 minutes to be seated. This place is located in Long Beach. It is decorated full of Forrest Gump memorabilia, although I'm not sure we all recognized everything from the movie. We ordered some seafood. The price was about 50% higher than California Fish Grill and we received slightly less or an equal amount than if we ate there. It tasted marginally better, so we mainly paid for the ambiance. My server was so nice but when my entrees arrived a roach about the size of my thumb ran underneath the table. I got up to grab the closest server to help me kill it but it ran up on my side of the booth and was dangerously close to my food. This is not a review of the restaurant or the food, but of the staff at the adjacent store. I am outraged. I can not believe the audacity of the staff. My daughters accidentally left their brand new stuffed toys purchased at the nearby aquarium, on the counter of the Bubba Gump gift store where we had purchased multiple items. When we returned to retrieve them, the two employees had indicated that they had given them away because they "didn't know where they came from." Instead of holding them behind the counter, possibly expecting the true owners to return for them later, they threw their hands up in the air and just gave them away to the first party who asked if they can have them. Who does that????? At almost every establishment that we have left any of our possessions by mistake, we are able to retrieve them by the staff who leave them behind the counter as a lost and found item. I was very surprised and disappointed at the lack of professionalism I witnessed. My two daughters were quite sad and disappointed that their toys were just "given away." Had they been left at a random table, I would understand if they had been taken, but they were left at the counter where we had paid just moments before, and where two employees were standing behind. My friends and I decided to come here before heading into the aquarium during lunch time. Was seated within minutes. I ordered the glazed salmon and a cup of clam chowder while both my friends ordered forrest's favorite feast. The food took about 20 minutes to come out which we were fine with. At first look, everything looks very ordinary and whatever. A bit disappointing since this is like $20 per plate right here. I can totally make the salmon fish at home and it would cost me less than $20. The sauce that went with it was disgusting. I don't know what sauce they were trying to make but i had to drink water to wash down the taste. The rest of the salmon dish was fine. Nothing special just okay. Thought the forrest's feast would have more food but came in less amount than I thought. Clam chowder was incredibly disappointing. Watered down and plain. Service was kind of bad. We flipped the forrest's sign to signal the servers to come to us but it took almost 10 minutes for them to arrive. I saw a few people glancing at the sign at the corner of their eyes but continued walking past us like they didn't see anything. In conclusion, would not come back to a bubba gump. Our table was not set up for us at all and we had a reservation. The host was snappy, I really didn't appreciate his attitude. The young lady at the door was sweet and obviously just adhering to procedures. The restaurant was only maybe 1/3 full- there was no reason to not let us sit and enjoy a drink or two while we waited for the last 3 of our 9 top to join. Not the greatest start. Then we waited about 10 minutes to get service. My grandfather tried to get a few drinks from the bar but was told to go back to the table a server would be with us shortly (which she was not). Living in Long Beach this was our first time visiting Bubba Gump due to the fact that it seemed crowded all the time. After waiting in line for only approximately 15-20 minutes we were seated. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. After placing our food order we had to wait longer than we did to be seated to receive our food. We waited any where from 45 min to 1 hr only to receive Luke warm food. I informed another waitress about this and she said she could get me another plate but that I would have to wait a while. I told her NO. The food was not the quality and especially not quantity for what we were charged. A $65 bill for a take-out order for two people. It was just horrible. I guess we were charged for the glass jar we received and the validating of the parking ticket. Anyway, we will not be visiting bubba gump any more. After writing and posting this review I was contacted immediately by the manager Mitch. He was incredibly nice and thanked me for the feedback. Service was horrible and the two guys that claimed they were managers were unapologetic to the fact that our food came out extremely late. Our server even stated that she complained to the manager that our food was taking longer than others to come out. But how are they backed-up when others kept getting their food served though?
