I haven't been here in nearly 20 years since I was a teenager! But we were in the area and I was trying to think of a fun place to take kids...this definitely was the right choice! Coloring pages, kid drinks, interesting pictures on the walls & complimentary bread makes for happy children (3 & 5!) We ordered sodas, antipasto salad & mushroom/ sausage pizza. All of which was very delicious and surprisingly light! A tad in the expensive side but it was a good time. Friendly and timely service.

OMG! I just LOVE meatball Mondays @ Buca! It's 1/2 price off their spaghetti and meatballs dinners so $39.99 becomes $20 And the larger portion $55.99 becomes $28. I just can't pass up this deal! Ok, I don't go here every Monday but I sure hope they keep this for awhile in this economy. We (hubby and I) got the large dinner with 3 one pound meatballs. We have lunch tomorrow!! Yay! And we asked for extra sauce and bread to take home. Although our server forgot about us (because we sat at the kitchen table), he made up for it afterwards. We had to ask for him the first time LOL. I love the area of the kitchen because I love the bright lights and the people that pass by. I also like the hustle and bustle of the service and kitchen staff. Definitely coming back!!

I love coming here because it definitely reminds me of my childhood and how we would come here for special occasions. Nowadays, I usually order from here when I have a big game coming up or if I want to make several meals for work and home from one dish. There are so many gems with just the pasta alone. The Spicy Chicken Rigatoni is a hit with its mixture of garlic, crushed red pepper and peas, pieces of chicken breast, and spicy rosa sauce. The Spaghetti with Meatballs is always a solid option where half-pound meatballs are doused in marinara sauce and spaghetti. The Fettuccine Alfredo is my favorite and usually lasts several days! I enjoy eating the Baked Ziti, which has provolone, mozzarella, and rosa sauce tossed and topped with ricotta and Italian-style bread crumbs. The Lasagna is truly amazing with its towering layers of mozzarella, ricotta, meat sauce, Parmesan, and provolone cheese. Other wonderful entrees include the Chicken Parmigiana and Eggplant Parmigiana, which are both topped with homemade marinara sauce and mozzarella. The former has parsley and the latter has basil and tomatoes. I would also recommend the Cannolis and Tiramisu!

Early Mother's Day Dinner I had an early Mother's Day dinner with my daughter and it was a nice experience. We had a 6pm reservation, but arrived at 5:45 and were seated right away, yay for being early and the place not being too busy! Our server was attentive from the start, promptly getting our drinks and giving us time to look over the menu. We shared an appetizer (bruschetta) and an entrée (penne vodka). The servings were generous - certainly enough to share. The bruschetta was served in a beautifully crafted bowl, though it was a bit too tall to serve from comfortably. You kind of have to lift yourself up just to get at it. As for the penne vodka, it was okay - we've had better, but we still ended up taking half of it home. The restaurant interior is homey and decorated nicely, which makes it a good spot for groups. Parking, however, is limited; I saw a car circling and waiting for a spot. Prices are on the higher side, but the portion sizes help justify it.

5/5 over all. We ordered a big bowl of linguine frutti de mare. It was actually cooked and seasoned well. The green mussels were awesome. Clams was all over and shrimp. I'm impressed. The staff was amazing and very friendly and they check around on you often. Inside a nice chill family atmosphere. Parking is open but limited and depends on the day but they also have street parking.

The only thing good about this place is the cool decor and friendly staff. No flavor in the dishes, added chicken to a pasta and it was the most horrible microwaveable poor quality chicken I have ever seen at a restaurant. Not worth the $8, not even worth $1. The mozzarella sticks aren't bad but definitely not good.

Buca is one of those places you probably have at least tried once if you're in LA. I have been going to this location since I moved to the valley. Back in the day when I was in LA I know I've been to the one in universal city walk a few times. It's just one of those places that sometimes family or group get-togethers are held. I also ordered catering (trays of pasta and salad as well as pizza) size and during pandemic they had promotions and I ordered to go here on a regular basis. If you sign up you get emails and have coupons for specials or $25off $50. So a couple of days weeks ago I got that coupon and used it. Here's the deal - pasta is placed in the oven so pasta tends to dry up and if you like your pasta to have more sauce - ask for extra sauce. This is what I did for our baked ziti - I asked for more sauce. So it came with extra sauce on the size and our server also said they put more sauce before they placed it in the oven. Love the fresh bread, dip it in a combination of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and drizzle with Parmesan cheese so good! If bread is warm you can of course use butter. Small serving feeds 3 with some for to-go. We also ordered pizza. I took out 1 star because service can be improved - I know the place have different areas so servers maybe too busy and can forget your requests (refill water, more napkins etc). Will recommend for dine in or takeout - they always have specials and promotions so it's generally good value.

Ouch! Has this place has really gone downhill. Went here for my birthday and ordered the chicken Marsala ($50) and Margherita pizza ($30). Glass of Chianti to round it out. For the price, portions were SMALL SMALL SMALL. Wine was a slim 4 oz pour. They claim the chicken feeds 3 people? Not a chance. Maybe 1.5 on a good day. Pizza was gone in minutes. Good example of shrinkflation. And my birthday ice cream? Forgotten. Oh, manager did come out and ask me if I wanted to order more food (I.e. pay more money for small portions). Sorry but no thanks. Won't be coming back.

We booked a last minute reservation and I was so happy I was able to find something early (6pm) on Valentine's Day since we had toddlers. The whole staff were so nice and the food tasted delicious like always. It is always so romantic and we loved sharing it with our daughters.

We came here with a large group. Service was great , food was delicious . The staff was very helpful and friendly . Our experience at this location was great . We will definitely come back to this location specifically.

This Italian restaurant is one of the best me and my family have had, although we live 30 min away it is definitely worth the drive back.We recommend the Spicy Chicken Rigatoni, as well as the Mozzarella Garlic Bread. Most of my family is spanish speaking and thanks to Daisy one of the waitresses, and the owner Anthony they were able to help them feel comfortable and to order with ease. Perfect for a family meal! Large portions and very personable and friendly service. We got the margherita pizza, the lemon caper chicken, the shrimp diavolo pasta, the salad, and the stuffed shells. Personally, I didn't like the stuffed shells, they had a very strong herby taste but my brother loved it. Everything else was amazing. It's not often that family friendly large servings places like this actually have great food! But this place is truly wonderful. read more

First of all let me say that Matt our server is the BEST!! He totally gets it, he makes all of the diners feel welcome and sets the mood to have a good time. Sounds simple, however, it's amazing to witness how many restaurants do not understand this premise. This is an excellent restaurant to enjoy family-style meals, Large portions to share. I came here tonight with my family to celebrate my birthday. We chose this location for the fun atmosphere, delicious menu choices, and great service. We had reservations, and they had our table ready and seated part of our party before everyone arrived, which was great. My brother was served a drink while he waited for the rest of us. We started with the prosciutto mushrooms, Cesar salad, and the green salad. The mushrooms were tasty, but definitely overpriced ($20 for 10). Our salads were $24 each, and were enough for 3 portions each. The real stars of the meal were the chicken Parmesan and the chicken marsala. Both delicious! We ordered a large penne marinara... it was $48 and I'm not sure why or how they can justify this price. Yes, it was a huge bowl. But it tasted like pasta with jarred sauce that I make at home. Our server Field was friendly and attentive. He and some other servers came to sing happy birthday which my kids thoroughly enjoyed! Overall, I was happy to have a nice evening with my family and Buca di Beppo was a great choice! read more

I recently came to Buca few more times in 2022 & 2023. Back in 2022, this Buca of Encino even offer this Limited Time Offer Chicken Wings Appetizer. I really LOVE that Chicken Wing Appetizer, especially how you guys cooked it with the lightly fried & mixed with several Italian Herbs/Spices & slight garnished of parmaesan. That chicken wings appetizer you guys made for a Limited Time Offer beats your Fried Calamari Appetizer (also another good dish I recommend in the past review). Because of the chicken wings, I now updated my score from 4/5 (written back on September 2021) to now a perfect 5/5. However, it's a bummer your Chicken Wing Appetizer is only a Limited Time Offer. Please bring back that particular Chicken Wing Appetizer dish. Overall, several visit since my first review I posted back on September 2021 & I have to say you guys got even better than my first time back in September 2021. Man I used to think I knew Italian until I ate at Buca and enjoyed the curated selection of authentic Italian food paired with exquisite wines/apertifs/cocktails. Don't let his youth fool you, Joseph is a plethora of cocktail/ wine knowledge. He guided me through a four course meal, each serving paired with a lovely drink and story of how the drink came to be. Amazing service and entertainment. They have a plush bar with an authentic 20's speakeasy feel. Many Disappointments from Staff & Management. I have been a frequent visitor to the downtown Columbus Buca for many special occasions every year. It has always been our favorite location to host group dinners. Typically we have reserved one of the specialty tables, most often the kitchen table. I have recently moved away from Ohio, but upon returning over the holidays we decided to host a family dinner at Buca. We were unfortunate to not be able to reserve one of the specialty tables during the tight schedule we had over the holidays. I wish I could say our bad luck ended there, but it didn't. Upon being seated (table of 9) we were lined up in a big line along one side, 1 person at each head, and a large building column taking up the entire other side. This setup was so frustrating to converse around, especially given our limited visitation time with family. Secondly, early into the dinner and just after ordering, one of the other waiters rudely draped one of the "party curtains" across 2 individuals backs whom were straddling one head of the table. The curtain remained in place for over 10 minutes while several waiters and manager appeared to be discussing what they could do. Finally, the curtain was pulled back away and a halfhearted apology given. While the food was slow in delivery, there was no big concern as we tried to visit with family and our newly friend ed column. Just moments after the food was delivered and passed around the table, the manager approached our table and asked if we would move to another table. EXCUSE ME??? We had just gotten our food and were being asked to move to another table? The reasoning behind the request was so that the party just arriving (just beyond the curtain divide) could be more comfortable. I'm not sure if it was the adjoining party or service staff's idea to ask us to move, but I have never been more insulted in years of dining out (and I dine out 5-7 days a week!). After dropped jaws around the table and more scrambling from the service staff, we were again given a half felt apology. To complete the dining experience, another adjacent table had the server move one of the spotlights - without hesitation the server immediately moved the spotlight directly aimed at the row of guests at my table. As I left Buca I don't know if I was more blinded by the light or the whole experience of what just happened to us. Here's a polished review that is firm, detailed, and more likely to be taken seriously by other customers than simply venting. We chose Buca di Beppo to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday because we were told it specialized in generous family-style dining. We worked with the manager ahead of time, confirmed the menu, discussed the portion sizes, and felt confident everything would be handled properly for such an important occasion. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. As the food began arriving, it was immediately obvious that the portions were nowhere near what we had been promised. Instead of each guest receiving a whole meatball, they were literally cutting meatballs in half. Dish after dish appeared to have been divided into much smaller portions than expected, making it feel like they were trying to stretch the food rather than serve the generous family-style meals they advertise. After we complained, they brought out a few additional items, but by then the damage had already been done. No one should have to ask for enough food after planning a special celebration and confirming everything in advance. To make matters worse, the service throughout the event was poor, and the food quality was nowhere near what it used to be. It's unfortunate to see how much this restaurant has gone downhill. The most frustrating part came afterward. A few days later, we tried contacting the same manager who had helped us plan the event. Instead of addressing our concerns, she repeatedly passed us off to someone else. No one ever followed up, apologized, or attempted to make things right. They were certainly quick to take our money, but once there was a problem, customer service completely disappeared. A 90th birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone, and this restaurant turned what should have been a memorable family celebration into a disappointing experience. I would not recommend Buca di Beppo for any special event. Based on our experience, we will never return. read more

A Disastrous Experience at Buca Di Beppo Our recent visit to Buca Di Beppo at the City walk of Universal Studios Los Angeles was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. We had a reservation for 7:00 PM but arrived at 5:30 PM, hoping for an early check-in. Instead, we ended up waiting for nearly two hours while watching other groups--ranging from two to nine people--get seated ahead of us without issue. Despite asking about our table five separate times, we were met with a variety of inconsistent excuses, each more frustrating than the last. The receptionist and the person managing check-ins were incredibly unprofessional, showing no concern for our wait time or the inconvenience they caused. They barely acknowledged us, making it clear that customer service is not a priority here. By the time we were finally seated, the experience was already ruined. No amount of food could make up for the lack of basic courtesy and organization. However, we do want to acknowledge our server, Enrique, who was the one bright spot in an otherwise disastrous evening. His accommodating customer service and warm, smiling demeanor helped pacify some of our frustration. We truly appreciated his efforts, but unfortunately, even great service from an individual can't redeem an overall poorly managed restaurant. If you're looking for a place that values its customers and respects reservations, Buca Di Beppo is NOT it. We won't be returning. read more

The trouble with this restaurant is that its trying too hard to seem Italian, but fails on the basics. The restaurant is congested with stereotypical Italian-themed photos on the wall so that you're reminded that this is an "Italian" restaurant. If Walt Disney had an Italian-themed restaurant, it would look like this. But that's not the reason I'm giving this place only Two Stars. Instead, it gets only Two Stars because of its subpar food, pricing and parking. Let's start with the food. I ordered their so-called "famous" lasagna. However, the waiter informed me that they were out of lasagna that night. WTF? Buca di Beppo brags about lasagna and then doesn't have enough for its customers. What type of "Italian" restaurant doesn't have lasagna available? As for the other dishes, I found them to be a bit greasy for my taste. The parking in the Encino area sucks. It's next to impossible to find free street parking in the area. So, you're forced to pay for parking. They should have free parking for their guests -- but they don't. As for the prices, I believe that Buca di Beppo in Encino is overpriced. I guess those photos on the wall are expensive. If you go there with a large group, be prepared to open your wallet really wide. The service from the waiter was good, however. This is the only reason I gave the place Two Stars instead of just one. read more

My family and I visited Buca at this location and I guarantee we'll be back! We came in for dinner and we were blown away by the food, portion sizes and the service, which were all exemplary. We went into the bar for a while we waited for our table, and our bartender Tom was great. Very friendly and fun and very professional. The restaurant is a fun maze of rooms with a million old photos to look at! They take you through the kitchen on the way to your table, which I found odd at first, but then I figured, they've got nothing to hide! I liked that! More restaurants should show you their kitchen; I wonder how many actually would? The food is gigantic and everything we ordered was delicious. Get the Garlic Cheese Bread. (Seriously good). The Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken is fantastic!!!! Our server Christina had a great smile and was very attentive. Loved her. High points for meeting the manager, Cher. Usually, you only meet a manager when something is wrong with the food or service. Not this time. She visited our table while making the rounds, checking on every table in the room. That was another nice change of pace. Cher was very professional and is clearly 'on her game'. Now a word of warning: The Colossal Brownie Sundae is friggin' huge. Get it anyway. read more

Rolando is absolutely amazing. He sat us in a very cute room that was nice and quiet-- kinda away from everyone so we loved it. He started with being so accommodating and sweet, making sure we got all of our drinks on time. Brought us extremely fresh and warm bread with lots of butter and oil/balsamic. Took our order within minutes and had our salad out in less than 10. Less than 5 minutes later our appetizers were out and he let us munch for an about 5-10 before checking back in asking if he should send for our pasta. I've never experienced such diligence at a restaurant before I was so happy and comforted. He just came back and refilled our waters and asked if it was too cold in here or we wanted the heater on!!! He's actually the sweetest waiter/server I've ever had. The food was absolutely exceptional as well! They even came out and sang me a beautiful and energetic happy birthday! From the moment we walked in, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Rolando was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. He recommended some amazing dishes, and his knowledge of the menu really enhanced our experience. We tried the family-style pasta, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. What stood out the most was how Rolando took the time to ensure our glasses were always full and that we had everything we needed. He even checked in on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything else, which made us feel truly valued as guests. Okay. What is the purpose of pre-ordering a Thanksgiving Dinner only to arrive at your pickup time to be told We're sorry but because no dining has come in to effect we now have multiple to orders We are 2 hours behind could you wait outside You wait outside and them told 2 hours later please get in line. Wait....a line that many people that arrived after you are now in and you're behind a ton of people that had not placed an order weeks in advanced. Poor poor service and I am just putting this out. DO NOT ORDER ANY TYPE OF OUT GOING MEAL ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DINNER ARRANGEMENTS AT BUCA DI PEPPA. So much for having Thanksgiving dinner. So not cool and such HORRIBLE service. Honor the guests who placed orders weeks weeks in advance. 1 star out of 10 stars. Gave 1 star because at least they didn't cancel all orders Don't order Holiday Meals here. Point Blank!! read more

Wow. The customer service here is beyond horrible!! I couldn't even believe the disrespect the manager here had. His name is Ben and one of the waiters brought out our pizza, which took 45 minutes to get, and it was freezing cold and we asked him if he could reheat it and he kept trying to get around doing it. Then when we finally had to convince him to heat it up, he comes back out with the pizza and says to us, "I sprinted here just to bring it to you before it got cold." How disrespectful!! I couldn't even believe his disgusting behavior. The waiters here were all extremely rude as well and continued giving my family attitude the entire time. I'm actually shocked at how horrible the customer service was. Do not go here it is a waste of your time and money for Americanized Italian food that you can get in the freezer aisle at the supermarket. read more

It was my 60th birthday and my sister was taking me to lunch. We chose this BdB but when we got there, we discovered it was closed until 4:00. However, Javier, the manager took pity on me and let us in! The service and food was excellent. I was very touched that he decided to do this. We were waited on by host Grace who was also wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better time. I had been craving their Ceaser Salad and Eggplant parm, so that's what we got with their garlic bread. Both these dishes were awesome, especially the eggplant. We stuffed ourselves silly in a roomy booth. We got the small dishes but there was still enough stuff left over for take home. Went in with by boo today to grab some din. sat at the kitchen table and got seated in 5 minutes or so. The was greeted by our waiter, Chris was his name I think. Nice guy brought us drink and bread and then took our order. While we waited we watched the kitchen and chef work. loud and boisterous it was pots clinking, and people running back and forth and all the good being cooked is quite the show. My boyfriend complimented the chef on his job and the chef approached our table and asked if everything was to our liking. then the actually chef brought us our pizza it was Delish! Only downside is they didn't have ranch to dip my pizza in..but the chef brought me this green sauce that was to die for!! Overall great experience will be back soon. read more

Me and the missus went out for a nice bite a couple days back, and are still left very much impressed on how delicious the lunch was, and how great the service was. Our lunch was definitely crafted, not just made. Everything about it was amazing, we ate with our eyes and from there on it was 10/10. Joseph was tending to us for the entirety of our sit. He was very polite and very allowing of both of us to just enjoy each other's company with an occasional check in and refill. I really appreciated how he went on about making sure we were satisfied with every portion of the whole ordeal. I definitely hope to be back soon and I hope to see more of the wonderful staff at this Buca location! read more

Bucca Di Beppo never disappoints, and this visit was no exception! Rolando and Oscar were incredible--so welcoming and attentive the entire evening. We were originally seated in a lively (but loud) area, and Rolando kindly suggested moving us to a quieter spot. It turned out to be the perfect choice for a relaxed and enjoyable dinner. I went with the 4-for-$40 deal, and wow--it was a feast! The salad was fresh, the pasta was delicious, and the entrée was cooked to perfection. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. The service, the food, and the atmosphere all made for such a great night. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I'm bringing a bigger group to share the experience! read more

On the way home from running errands, we decided to stop to eat at Buco di Beppo's in Encino, CA. The restaurant was clean, the ambiance was nice and the servers were very friendly. Our server, Arlando was amazing. He was service with a smile and a great attitude. He let us take our time in deciding what to order. He checked back with us to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything else. There were only the two of us, so we got a Mixed Green Salad to spilt, which was enough for two more people. One order of the meatballs with marina sauce and an order of the Chicken Lemone (gluten free). All great choices and delicious. Would definitely recommend. read more
