I love this place for Ski Apres! I always get jalapeno margarita, love their wings, wild rice soup, quesadillas!

Nice patio and atmosphere, friendly service. Great music outdoors. Sadly, my fish was way over done, and the chips were cold. I originally asked for those instead of fries, so ended up getting a side of chips from the server which was nice, but glad I had fries after all since the chips weren't fresh. My husband enjoyed his burger and said it was good though, and I liked the coleslaw. This was our 2nd time here, and I think the name may have changed since then and the menu. Seems like a fun joint for drinks and apps while listening to the music, but not sure I would order entrees here again.

This is a really nice place. Great deck, nice atmosphere, food and service are great. We've stopped by here a couple times and have really been impressed. Portions are also really good. Worth giving them a try.

Great view. Good service. Sad and profoundly pitiful food. Lacking imagination and blah at best. Never again!

It was ok, nothing special. Service was sub par. Was not busy. I didn't order any food, because of the fruit flies that were flying around.

The restaurant itself has a nice style, but it has more of an open concept vibe. It can get loud indoors, especially if there's a sporting event on. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a Taphouse, after all, but it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter restaurant. The staff has always been very nice. We've never had any issues with the service. We were starving, so we ordered quite a bit of food. We started with the crispy fried pickles. These are pretty dang great, and my wife described them as the "best fried pickles" she's ever had. I thought they were good too, but maybe not the best. You get a decent amount, a little expensive at $12. We decided to splurge on a second appetizer and ordered the jumbo bacon cheddar chive tots. These are absolutely amazing. "Heavenly" is probably the best way to describe them. I feel like I could eat 30 of these in one sitting because they're that good. They have to be some of the best jumbo tots I've ever had at a restaurant, and the house aioli makes them even better. They're $13, and while they're still a little expensive, you do get a good portion. They're good enough that I'd call them an absolute must order. My wife got the Spicy Honey Salmon Bowl and really liked it. Since it's salmon, it's obviously going to be a little more expensive, but I was impressed with the portion size. She even had leftovers to take home, and she said they reheated really well. I've been searching for the best Nashville hot chicken sandwich in the area, so I decided to order theirs. It's also available in a "Minnesota Nice" spice level, but I ordered the regular spice version. Overall, it was pretty good, but it's not the best Nashville hot chicken sandwich I've had. That said, it's probably one of the better ones in the area and MUCH MUCH better than Barley & Vine's version. I do wish it had been a little hotter because it really isn't that spicy. There's a little heat, but not much. As for the flavor of the sauce, I thought it was good, but I've definitely had better and I've certainly had worse. Overall, it's a solid sandwich, and I'd order it again. I got it with their fries and have no complaints there either. We sat outside since the weather was nice and really enjoyed the patio. The bugs were a little annoying, but there's only so much the restaurant can do about that. The service wasn't slow, but it also wasn't particularly fast. Our waitress was kind. Altogether, we ended up spending over $80 after tax and tip. It felt a little pricey, but we did order two appetizers, and my wife had salmon. There are definitely more affordable options on the menu, and considering what most restaurants are charging these days, I can't complain too much. One thing I can and will complain about, and it's partially why I deducted a star, is the 3% credit card fee. They're passing part of their overhead operating/processing costs on to the customer, on top of the higher menu prices we've all seen over the past few years. That's disappointing to see. All that said, I recommend this restaurant, and we'll definitely be back. The credit card processing fee is incredibly annoying, and while the Nashville hot chicken sandwich wasn't amazing, it was still good. The jumbo bacon cheddar chive tots are an absolute must order, and the staff has always been friendly.

My wife and I have been here many times, and there's a reason we keep coming back. That said, not everything is perfect. The food here is consistently great. I could go into more detail, but we've had so many different dishes over the years that it's hard to list them all. For my own notes, I had the Short Rib Melt this time and absolutely loved it. I wanted more! The Burrata Bruschetta was amazing too. It was way too expensive for only four small slices of toast, but it was delicious. We've also really enjoyed their French Toast in the past, along with several other menu items. The cheesy hashbrowns are usually amazing, but there were something off about ours this time. Maybe we just got a bad batch...? Their coffee drinks are also very good. A few people at our table ordered lattes and said they were much better than an average latte. They were also very large. One thing that's both good and bad is that they change and rotate their menu fairly often. On the plus side, you can visit and try something new that you may not have seen there before. On the downside, some of our favorite dishes are no longer on the menu, which can be disappointing. The same thing seems to happen with their specials and deals. They used to have a Smashburger special, one day of the week, but I don't think that's offered anymore. I also remember several other specials they used to run that are no longer available. There have been a few times when that has kept us from visiting. Their hours are also weird at times, so I strongly recommend checking the hours on their website before making plans. They may not be open when you expect them to be. For example, we've wanted to go there for dinner several times on a Monday or Tuesday, but they aren't open. Kitchen closes early several other days. It was extremely busy when we arrived around 10:50 to 11:00 a.m. on a Sunday. We were honestly surprised by how packed it was, and there was a wait for a table. Just an FYI if you're planning to visit during a busy brunch time. Also, in case the owner is reading this, using AI-generated images on your website and inside the restaurant is a massive turnoff. I don't want to see AI-generated artwork on a restaurant's website or hanging inside the restaurant itself. That is an easy star deduction for me. The design and style of the restaurant are really nice. It has more of an open concept setup, so it can get a little loud, but for some reason it never seems to get as loud as you might expect. If you go during a slower time, it can be very relaxing. Overall, I really like the look and feel of the restaurant. I feel like I say this in 95% of my Yelp reviews at this point, but I'm going to keep saying it. The prices aren't great, especially compared with the portion sizes. I won't spend too much time on this, but if you're looking for a budget-friendly restaurant, this probably isn't the place. The service was mostly great. They were clearly very busy, but our waiter never refilled my water, and he didn't come back often enough for me to ask. He also didn't know what soups they had for the day, and instead of offering to go check, he just said he "didn't know" and my friend ordered something else for their side. Not a huge deal, but maybe a coachable moment. Since the restaurant was so packed, it also took quite a while to get our food and drinks. That was understandable considering how busy they were, but it's worth knowing if you're in a hurry. Overall, we really love The Better Half. The food is great, the coffee drinks are better than average, the restaurant has a nice and relaxing atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and there's usually something new to try. The higher prices, weird hours, rotating menu, discontinued specials, AI-generated artwork, and occasional slow service keep it from being perfect, but the great food and overall experience will keep us coming back, just not as often as some other places.

The tater tot hot dish and cheese curds were good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to say great. Tater tot hot dish was lacking in saltiness and richness but still packed some nice meat and crispy tots. The cheese curds were good, but didn't come out real hot so the cheese was less melty and more solid. Service was good, we had a large table of 16 and the staff maintained order and organization well and managed to serve us all together. The environment is what you'd expect, a bit on the noisy side, so not a place you'd want to go if conversation is your priority. Acts much more like a sports bar than all else Highly recommend if you're in the market for affordable happy hours, best deals in the cities.

You can make reservations and they have an app with a loyalty program. There often is a wait during dinner time, so if you can plan ahead I would make a reservation. Tavern Grill recently revamped their menu and they have some really great dishes! Some notable dishes: -- The Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps appetizer is SO fresh and flavorful! You can add on cashews and avocado. The avocado slices were so thick and fresh. The wonton strips were some of the best I've had -- so light and crispy. The thai peanut sauce on the chicken was fantastic and the ginger sauce had a pretty decent kick to it. -- The Chicken Skewers entree is my go-to dish. It's such a classic and it has consistently been good every time I've ordered it. The chicken is juicy and the peppers and onions have a nice charred grilled flavor. The garlic parmesan sauce complements the dish well. -- The Chicken Wild Rice Soup is on the chunkier side, which I enjoyed! It was nice and creamy and didn't skimp out on the wild rice. The Clam Chowder served on Fridays was a little too salty. -- The Skillet Cookie is so warm and gooey! The ice cream melts right into the warm cookie. The cookie is on the doughier side and the outside is on the softer side. It's almost the size of the entire plate, so it's easily shareable between a few people. -- The Fish Fry Basket doesn't taste too greasy, and the tarter sauce complements the fish well. The fish has a clean flavor and on Fridays you can get a refill of 4 pieces of fried fish for an additional $7.50. You can add on their seasoned sour cream for an additional cost. The seasoned sour cream is thick and adds so much flavor to the waffle fries. Last time I was there I received very friendly and attentive service from Sam.

He stated he wasn't there and he couldn't explain why I was charged more. Said he wouldn't fix the bill but couldn't explain why I was charged more. I told him then he should just remove the tip and have it match the receipt. He said he wouldn't do that because I digested the food. I stated I'd pay for the food but you aren't going to tip your establishment 50% of my bill when I never authorized that. He hung up on me. Response to Tavern T the owner. As you may have read I already spoke to Mike who claimed he was the GM and he wouldn't resolve the issue. Why would it be different now? I even advised Mike I would be writing reviews and potentially filing a lawsuit. It wasn't about the money as much as principle. He laughed and said he encourages me to. Clearly he doesn't care about his patrons and is willing to lose business over small amounts of money
