I recently went here for drinks and appetizers with a group of friends. The food was delicious, the drinks well made and innovative. Ok, the desserts sounded so good we had dessert too. The decor of the roadhouse is old fashioned, dark woods with reds. We ate in the bar. Next time I'm there I'd like to eat in the main dining room. It reminded me of a lodge decorated in the 1920s. One thing to note about parking. If you're there during a busy time, they provide complimentary valet parking. (Of course, you'll want to tip the valet). read more

Food was good, drinks were a bit strong. I asked for a sweet cocktail and it wasn't sweet at all. Our waiter kept dropping thing on the floor and even tripped on my chair. She kept coming back asking if we were done with our plate while we were still eating. My girls friends and I were trying to catch up and enjoying our meal. By far the most delicious oysters Rockefeller that I've ever had. If you want an amazing snack, stop by and grab an order of their Oysters Bingo. A fantastic creamy blend of cheeses and oysters. Excellent food and service. We arrived an hour late past our reservation. Traffic was bad because it was a beautiful day in the city during Valentine's Day weekend. But we called ahead to say how we were going to be late and the hostess could only keep our reservation past 15 minutes. We decided to come anyway to see if there would be any open tables. Thankfully, there was still an open table for us! We got seated right away and the waitress came by to take our order. We ordered clam chowder to start and I loved how it was packed with vegetables. For lunch, we ordered the lamb shank and the pork sandwich, which were both amazing!! Buckeye is a great restaurant for a fancy night out with delicious food. I recently ate there to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was divine. Every single one of Buckeye's dishes were very well made and mouthwatering. For appetizers, we ordered the onion rings (my mom's favorite) and the oyster bingo. I was surprised that Buckeye even made onion rings, but hey, they were good. The oyster bingo is a customer favorite and I understand why. This dish is oyster smothered in ooey gooey cheese. Cheese makes everything better and that is a fact. As for the main course, I ordered the lamb shank. The lamb was superrrrr tender and just fell right off the bone. The saffron rice that accompanied the lamb was excellent as well. My sister ordered the Hampshire lamb chop. I was able to steal a bite and it was an explosion of flavor and tenderness. My dad ordered the bacon wrapped petit filet mignon and it was the most tender out of all the others. It was so tender and succulent it blew all the other competition out of the water. Anything at Buckeye's will be very tender and delicious. Then for the birthday girl, my mom ordered the Brandt rib-eye steak. This is probably a very yummy dish, but her steak was over cooked. The waitress was very helpful and accommodating and gave my mom another dish. My mom decided to order the pork chop, for it really is an outstanding dish. The glaze on the tender pork is just scrumptious. In addition, to make up for the overcooked steak fiasco, Buckeye gave us a complimentary dessert. Shoutout to them for being so nice. Buckeye's desserts did not disappoint either. The baked lemon pudding and s'more pie were both awesome. I would recommend both of them. This place is one of our favorite steak places near San Francisco. We go here almost once every month or even more at times. We have tried their Shrimp and bacon Cobb salad, it's creamy and can be shared between 2. Their ribeye is bomb, smokey flavor in every bite. The herbed garlic butter adds to its flavor. This is the best ribeye I've had. We have also tried their chicken and filet mignon, both amazingly delicious. The polenta Sticks that come along with the chicken are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, just perfect. The Absolute Pear-fection cocktail is my all-time favorite. The aromatic flavor of elderflower, along with a hint of rosemary, does the trick. The ambiance is good, not too loud, and not too quiet. The outdoor seating area feels cozy and is well heated when needed. The staff and servers are also very friendly, polite, and accommodating. Overall, this place never disappoints us, and we love going here to celebrate special occasions as well as random weekend lunch and dinners. Definitely 10/10. read more

When ever someone asks me about my favorite Marin restaurants, the Buckeye is also at the top of my list. I've never had a mediocre meal or cocktail here. Never. My go-to dish is their Smoked Beef Brisket with horseradish mashed potatoes. I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. They're also famous for their Oysters Bingo, BBQ Baby Back Ribs, and their Chili-Lime Brick Chicken. I'm also a sucker for their Caesar Salad (one of the best ones in town). If you like your Caesar with a bit more kick, order the Brutus (which is essentially a Caesar with red chili pepper flakes). De-lish! Now be warned, this place is always packed. There's rarely an empty seat in the house. I personally prefer dining in their bar/lounge area. It has a warm, cozy vibe to it, and the bartenders always take good care of you. And if you're in a spirited mood, make sure to order a Negroni, Manhatten, or Martini (gin or vodka) from either Jeff (aka "The Bar Fly"), Nicole, or Brian. They're drink slinging skills rival the best bartenders in SF. At the end of the day, this certainly isn't inexpensive "diet" food - but hey, everyone needs to treat themselves every once in a while. And I can't think of a better place to splurge on your pocketbook and waistline than the good ol' Buckeye. The Buck stops here. And I recommend that you do as well. read more

We have a real love-hate with this place. We love the location, ambiance and a couple dishes. We hate the exorbitant prices and most of the food, although they may have changed cooks since we last dined here. The Oysters Bingo are one of my favorite dishes of all time. Went for dinner last night, while we were on a little staycation in Mill Valley. We sat on the first floor with the big fire place. It seems like from other reviews, this is preferable to the second floor. their onion rings are ethereal and went perfect with the pear-fection I ordered. For the main i had their marinated skirt steak which was very tender. The truffle fries were great. My wife had the pork chop which was also very good. Had an odd side with the pork chop, a smoked cheese tapioca. I kind of liked it, it was something different. She didn't care for it, and was happy to let me steal bits. The place always seems to have a crowd, but not too crowded such that you have a long wait. Parking is easy, it is valet and they are great. Super cute place to stop on our way up from San Fran to Napa. We were famished from the flight and wanted to stop near Sausalito, this place hit all the marks. We had made a reservation, but arrived a little early --around 3:30p , and had no trouble getting a table in the bar. The wait staff was very attentive, and the atmosphere was that of a sophisticated neighborhood bar. Leather booths, big picture windows overlooking the bay...oh, and the wine selections were amazing!
