I live in ktown and have been to at least 20+ kbbq spots over SoCal. This place is amazing great service, PHENOMENAL pricing, wide selection and a sides bar which is rare! I am so glad I found this hidden gem just off of wilshire. And if you're still hesitant they have parking! I know parking in ktown! The bottom lot is small but they have an additional lot on Ardmore. Please if you want to make date night taste delicious get yourself over here asap!

A hidden gem! A small, family-owned K-BBQ restaurant where everyone takes great care of the customers. The place is very clean, and the prices are great. They also have dedicated parking spots underneath the building and nearby, which is a big plus for K-Town. I loved their marinated beef belly -- the sauce really makes the difference. Their soybean paste sauce (ssamjang) has a nice, savory flavor. I didn't eat much of their chili sauce, but it was tangy and a little spicy, which helped cut the grease nicely. The selection is good for the price. I just wish they had steamed egg on the menu too! We will be back :).

This is a budget friendly, AYCE Korean restaurant. The cheapest price point for dinner (Plan A) is $23.95 (see photo below), which is almost unheard of in Los Angeles. As someone who primarily orders Beef Brisket when they're at a KBBQ restaurant, Bud Namu works for me because I am customer with a cheap meat palate. Since I have gone to so many other KBBQ restaurants, I can tell you that if you are picky with meat quality then you probably would not want to come to Bud Namu. I recognize that I could definitely get better Beef Brisket cut elsewhere, but if you're just looking for an affordable, AYCE KBB experience, don't complain and just consume. I enjoyed that my additional sides were basically at a small, self-service station that I could refill at my convenience. It is a cozy restaurant located on the south of 8th Street (so if there is no space in their parking lots then you'll have to circle around a little bit to find a spot).

Decent option for AYCE Korean BBQ, especially since they have their own small parking garage underneath. Self-serve ban chan and very attentive service, most of the meat quality is okay, but the galbi was not quite up to their competitors. We quite enjoyed them, but in the end, they felt a bit more ordinary than not, and in such a competitive market.....

A hidden gem in an inflated kbbq scene of KTOWN! For lunch at $19.99 or dinner at $24.99, you get your usual kbbq meats for an all you can eat price. The staff are super friendly and attentive to grill changes and sometimes help cook if needed! Even when we went to the all you can eat sides bar as well, they set up our meats and prepared our grill for when we came back. Plus with kpop blasting in the background, ample parking, and good meat selection, this place has my heart and I highly recommend if you're craving kbbq in LA!

This place never misses meaning that it always hits the spot, no matter what. Always providing those fresh food, and vegetables from the bar. And the service is always spot on. The ambiance here is nice and welcoming to its customers when they walk through those doors. We've been coming here for years and years and it never gets old. And I'll be back 100%

This place has a lunch special for the A tier at $20!!! The chadol is so goooood we got two plates and then we had pork skin like 4 plates of it. The salad bar is so good. Make sure not to put more on your plate than you can handle cause they charge you for leftovers. Service is so good. Everyone is nice and even the Spanish workers speak Korean. Ambience is good! Everyone there is hungry and working hard!

I've been here a few times w my bf & we both really liked it due to the budget friendly prices, good quality of meats, & overall good/attentive service. However, the last time we went was highly disappointing & I don't think we'll be returning. We went late on a Sunday night at around 9pm since we saw online that they didn't close til 11pm so we thought that was enough time for us to eat whilst also not staying so late that it would upset the staff. Mind you, I work in retail so I make sure to never show up too late to a restaurant bc I know what it's like to have last min customers when all you wanna do is go home. Even while keeping this in mind & trying our best to be considerate of their time, they were not very considerate of ours or our money. We get there & were met w a woman who seemed to be distracted on her phone, but another man waiting on tables saw us & sat us down immediately so we were off to a good start. He asked us how we were & in turn asked him the same. He said he was good, but that he was tired. We even apologized for coming in late, but he said that it was okay since he still had to be there until 11pm anyway. So, we begin ordering & after about 30 mins at 9:30pm, he lets us know that they're doing last call. We were kind of confused since it still seemed early, but we went along w it anyway & ordered one more round. Then, he brings us the check & doesn't even say anything. It was as if there was a sudden shift in his mood. We try brushing it off, but then he comes back a third time saying he needed payment bc there were closing their registers.. it was only about 9:58pm at this point & he said himself that they closed at 11pm earlier. Why are you closing your registers an hour before close? Anyway, we put our card down, he takes it & comes back w the receipt to sign. My bf didn't sign it right away bc we're still eating at this point, but this man tried to take it anyway. It wasn't until my bf spoke up & said "I haven't signed that yet" when he finally backed off & said sorry. We were so upset at this point that I couldn't even finish my meal in peace. We felt so rushed to get out of there & to make matters worse, they had turned all their TV's & music off making for an uncomfortable & tense environment. We really shouldn't have felt rushed to leave since we were spending good money there, but we left earlier than expected anyway bc it was so obvious that we weren't wanted there. Looking back, the man who was serving us mood changed after an Asian family in front of us left. They were all speaking to each other in what I'm guessing was Korean the first half hour we got there & it wasn't until they left that he started rushing everybody else in the restaurant out. I can't help but feel discriminated against for being brown, I don't think they would've treated us that way if we were also Asian. And if you wanted to close early that night bc you were "so tired" then you should've never seated us in the first place. I would've much rather been turned away at the door & gone to another KBBQ in the area where we could've spent our money somewhere it would've been appreciated. What disappointing experience. I hope somebody reads this & does better next time.

Price: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Staff: Super friendly & attentive, good service My boyfriend at the time showed me this spot and it's been my to-go to for KBBQ. This place is one of the more affordable KBBQ places in LA and the quality is delicious! My classics are always the briskets and pork belly, but the beef bulgogi here beats some of the other places I've been to. The staff are quick and attentive and I like how they communicate with their employees through walkie talkies when it gets crowded. The self-serve side dishes are honestly what keeps me coming back since the sides meshes/compliments so well with the meat. The spicy rice cakes and potatoe salad always hit the spot for me, but they also have kimchi that's really good and Mac salad along with other sides.

Pretty decent for value and portions , but the meat was somewhat bland, the japae noodles slightly greasy, condiments were great though and very tasty - still searching for something similar to a lunch in Seoul

Ask the Community - Bud Namu Korean BBQ

Do they have lunch specials on the weekends?

    No. Only M-F

Is a vaccination card required to dine in?

Yes it is - or photo of vaccine card is fine too

Do you guys still do AYCE lunch? If so, I'm willing to visit tomorrow

Bud namu is always Ayce but with covid they only have one menu of ayce at the price of 18.99

Hi, now that there's outdoor seating, can I bring my dog?

Don't bring the dog. It's just not that type of place. It's outdoor, but it doesn't feel like it. I could understand if it were sidewalk seating or in a parking garage, but you have to go through the kitchen and restaurant (very little contact tho)…

Do they sell korean bbq meat per pound to go?

    No they don't

Is there a minimum amount of meat that must be ordered?

No, just don't leave a lot of left over food.

How much is the vegetarian menu?

Not vegetarian friendly. You can get rice paper, ban chan, and cheese maybe.

We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!
