My partner and I have been regular customers here since it's opening, and we've often recommended this restaurant to friends especially because of the Megzookie dessert, which we've always enjoyed. Unfortunately, our most recent visit this past Saturday was extremely disappointing. We arrived around 8:00 PM with a group of four. We understood that it was busy due to the soccer game, but our first interaction with the hostess left a bad impression. When we asked if there was space for four people, she immediately responded with attitude asking if we had reservation or else we couldn't be seated. We asked if we can sit at the bar and she replied with" you can go check if there's anything available". She couldn't even at least try to provide an estimated wait time, or even acknowledge the request in a welcoming manner. I understand that busy nights can be stressful, but customer service starts with that first interaction We decided to leave and return about 30 minutes later. This time, a different hostess greeted us and was incredibly kind and helpful, which we appreciated. After being seated on the patio, we were served water that tasted noticeably off. We ordered drinks, including the Fotos y Recuerdos cocktail, which always comes with a Polaroid picture, but we never even got a photo taken. We also ordered an Abuela's Cookie dessert, which arrived nearly burnt, along with another dessert platter. Shortly afterward, my aguachile arrived. Within moments of my food being placed on the table, we saw a rat run across the wall. Less than five minutes later, a second rat ran across the exact same wall. It was instantly unsettling and completely killed our appetite. I never touched my aguachile, and our group had only taken a bite or two from the desserts and barely sipped our drinks. Keep in mind we were sat on the outside patio.We informed our server, who promptly notified a manager. While she was polite and ultimately discounted our bill, her response was disappointing. She repeatedly explained that the rats were not coming from the restaurant and that "we are in Downtown Long Beach," suggesting they were coming from the parking structure. While that may be true, being located downtown is not an excuse for customers to witness multiple rats during their dining experience. Regardless of where they originated, they were present in the restaurant's patio dining area, and that is a serious concern. We let her know that we were not looking for a free meal. We simply felt it was unreasonable to pay full price for food that went untouched due to the circumstances. This restaurant used to be one of our favorite spots, and we've brought friends and family here many times. However, over the last few months, we've noticed a decline in both the overall experience and quality. Seeing multiple rats during dinner was the final straw. I sincerely hope management takes this issue seriously because customers should not have to accept this as normal simply because the restaurant is located downtown.

The Food The food lacks the wow factor. Go to Buen Provecho for a fun night out, a gorgeous backdrop, and fantastic ambience. Just keep your expectations grounded when it comes to the menu. It's a perfect spot for drinks and appetizers, even if the main courses leave you wishing for a little more flavor.

If you want the best service with the tastiest food you found the place. We came on Friday around 6pm. It was so lovely and vibrant. The place was filled but we had no wait. Everyone around seemed to be so happy and the ambiance was filled with joy and good vibes. Every dish is about $20. Makes sense due to the area. If you come parking is so easy! Park in one the city of Long Beach garages. Our entire bill post tip was about $80 Now for the experience. First of all the manager goes around to talk with the customers. He is so pleasant and it's clear how much he cares about his job. He talked with us for a brief second and after our appetizer arrived we got feee nachos gifted by the manager after hearing it was our first time My parter got the drink I got the mango agua. He loved the drink and wanted me to write that they make their drinks very strong. He was feeling it a bit after just one. The mango agua was soooo good. If only it could be colder. The food was the best part. The entire thought was my least favorite. The salsas were great however be prepared to have a spicy mouthful of flavor. I got the torta and omg it was amazing. If you want quality carne asada that is so juicy and tender, you need to get the torta. You will feel like a better person after eating it. Also it was so cute to see a small bag of chips with chili. Truly this dish and entire place made me so happy to be Mexican. My partner got the enchilada and it was great too. The salsa wasn't too spicy and the use of blue corn was the perfect touch. It reminds us how there exists other corn in Mexico besides yellow!!!! I need to come back for brunch. I will come back for brunch. We left excited! Truly their happy hour sounds worth it with the price for the tacos. Try to make it and let us know before I tell ya!

We visited this past Saturday 5/16 during dinner time (7pm) with no reservations. We were a little worried as it looked very busy, but we actually got seated right away (group of 4). Everyone was so friendly and our server was great, he gave us recommendations, and checked on us even with a busy restaurant. The food was really good I loved my carne asada tacos! Very very filling and the tortillas were bomb! My partner and mother in law both got the tortas and they enjoyed it as well! The portions are great and taste as well! Now let's talk about the margarita pitcher! Wow they do not skip out on the alcohol (you know how some pitchers you get are watery, doesn't even taste like there's any tequila in it? Yah well not here). We got the fresa margarita and it was perfect not too sweet and well balanced! Split between my mother in law and me we had a gooood time lol (but it's made for 4 ) As for ambiance it was great they played good music and we really enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely be back again I would love to come try the brunch!

Food: 7/10 Service: 5/10 Ambiance: 7/10 I went with my husband last Friday for their happy hour. All of the happy hour tacos are bomb, especially the carnitas taco. The flautas are delicious too. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely terrible. We were sitting at the bar, which is not that large and it's quite open, for 10 minutes before being served. And the only reason anyone notices is because I lost my patience and I went up to one of the servers and told them that we have been waiting for quite a while and no one has come to check on us to take our order. What makes this experience worse is there were people seated across from us whom the manager was laughing and dapping 'em up, while while we sat there hungry and confused. I was considering using this place for my birthday dinner, but after experiencing that level of service I don't think I will return.

I've passed this place several times and always loved the vibe from the outside, so I was really looking forward to finally trying it. I went with some friends, and the earliest reservation we could get was 8:15 PM. In hindsight, we should have stayed at the bar we stopped at beforehand. Unfortunately, the service here was truly awful, and it wasn't just us. Every surrounding table seemed to be experiencing the same issues and openly complaining. After being seated, we ordered drinks and were told our server would bring water and utensils. We waited a solid 20+ minutes and received nothing. Eventually, someone in our party got up and grabbed utensils for the table. When the server finally returned, she brought our drinks, but forgot one of mine and said she'd bring it later. I asked multiple times for water and a straw. Each time, nothing came. I eventually got up myself and went to the bar just to get a straw. Our appetizer arrived; still no water. When our entrees finally came, my patience was gone, and I made a sarcastic comment, which finally prompted her to rush and bring water to the table. At that point, we had planned to order more drinks, but decided we'd rather go somewhere else. I only ate half my burrito, and the running joke at the table was that I might have to walk out with the plate if I wanted a to-go box. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. There was no apology, no explanation, just consistently poor service from start to finish. I can now say I've been here, and I won't be back.

Do not recommend. Shitty quality, taste and lack of care in details. The server was honestly really nice but the time it takes to get just our drinks alone is ridiculous even with how busy it is. Our plates all came at different times so our food got cold while waiting for the rest. Yall for the price this is not worth it. So disappointed. Chips & Salsa -- stale chips Short Rib -- comes with 3 pieces of short rib one of the ones served was just the bone part NO MEAT; one was complete fat. Had to return the plate. Enchiladas -- served us uncooked tortillas. Tasted rubbery. Asada Plate -- poor quality meat; hella chewy but did have good flavor. Beans had no salt. Rice oversalted. Tortillas not warmed up tasted like they'd been sitting then served to my plate. Mole Beef ribs - tastes like uncooked tomato paste; consistency of Ducal beans from the can. Do not get if you know what good mole tastes like. Drinks -- Margaritas tastes like water and took so long to get. Hibiscus Watermelon tastes like artificial everything Prickly Pear no flavor, watered down returned Pineapple Serrano was flavorless. After 3 sips, it tasted like dishwater not able to finish. At least they play good music.

First time here and it lives up to the hype. Food was absolutely delicious. The tostada on the tuna dish was stale but other than that, flavors were beautiful and fresh. The bartender was super nice and attentive. All the staff members were cool too. Inside is beautiful and open.

I've seen this spot change a few times over the years... and was curious to see what this was all about. My husband wanted to treat me out for lunch because he's out in the East Coast and couldn't take me on a date. So he Venmo'd me cash. Anyway, a couple months ago, I was greeted by a nice lady and she made accommodations for me to be able to sit outside in the back patio and the server was really nice too. Good service, good ambiance, yummy food! I got a drink and a tried the Brussel sprouts & some other yummy foods but I can't remember. Must come back and update my review. lol!

Stopped by here. FYI happy hour is 2-5. They have lots of margaritas. Dog friendly environment. honestly great space great environment good music good drinks and good food what more can you ask for. The food was great definitely try the shrimp dishes pastas sauce was impeccable the cilantro on top gave it that extra touch. This is a must try. I also had the enchiladas those were so delicious as well a bit smaller than i expected but overall decent serving. The enchilada sauce was so flavorful. Totally recommend.

Despite all the good reviews, we didn't have a great experience. The service was 5* but the food was average at best. I had the enchilada suica which was smothered in a heavy creamy and cheesy sauce that was overwhelming. The enchilada itself was quite small and I was still hungry after I was finished. My friend had the chicken tinga burrito, which he said was tasty but didn't have much chicken. There was a sombrero wearing gentleman walking around the restaurant singing at such a loud volume you couldn't have a conversation.

Decided to check out this new restaurant, and we were completely satisfied. All of our food came out so fast! Everyone was so kind, especially our server, Matt, and the hostess. My husband and I were beyond impressed with how great the food tasted, so many flavors. We were even welcomed with a delicious watermelon lemon drop shot! The atmosphere is really beautiful and the music is great, but the food lacks flavor and portions are small compared to the price. We had great service, but ultimately I wouldn't come back. I ordered the yellowfin tostadas, chips & salsa, and the brussel sprouts esquites. The tostadas (came with 2) were the size of the palm of my hand & the chipotle mayo overpowered the flavor of the fish. The salsas were just okay. great place to celebrate anyone's special occasion. the atmosphere & decor was modern, soothing and relaxing but yet playful, energetic and romantic -any mood fits their vibe. they offer vast selections of entree from small bites to larger portions. i ordered the branzino which came with rice/beans and miniature corn tortillas. very flavorful, moist, & well prepared. our waitress named megan (meg) was gracious enough to surprise our bday celebrant and everyone at the table a shot of bailey's to end the night with a final cheers which made our start to finish experience a memorable one. read more

Met at Buen Provecho for an early family dinner before attending a performance at the convention center. We were a group of 6 adults and 1 child. Beautiful decor, inside and out. It was raining so we sat indoors. Megan was our server. She is great and only added to an overall great experience. Every one of us, including my granddaughter were happy with our meal. Between us, we had chips and guacamole, queso fundido, enchilada stacks, pibil tacos, fish bowl, flautas, ramen bowl, rice, beans, and their cookie and gelato dessert. Also, Megan kindly treated us to their tostones. No complaints about any of the dishes served. I don't remember all the cocktail choices ordered, but again everyone was pleased with their choices. Although I didn't have a cocktail, I sampled my husband's BP margarita. It was very good. We all agreed we would like to return. My husband and I are talking about going back in the next week or two. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the downtown Long Beach area. read more

Oh my heavens! While visiting LB I tried Buen Provecho and it absolutely made my weekend in LB special. Bartenders and Excellent Recommenders Kenyon and Stephen are OUTSTANDING (I know "Recommenders" is not a word, yet, it is appropriate). The margaritas, salads and carne asada burritos with the house hot sauce are EXCELLENT!!! Really EXCELLENT!!!Don't miss out on the BEST Mexican food and beverages in LB. read more

Tried this place with my boyfriend. Things were fine enough till I mentioned my severe nut allergy. We communicated that it was all nuts, only to have our first course, our appetizer, include a dipping sauce that had nuts! Lol. It's honestly kind of funny because how careless can you be to other people? This place is extremely lucky my boyfriend tried it first and knew something was off. I'm extremely cautious and honestly not one to be annoying with my allergy but this place broke my trust right from the jump, how could I not be? After it was confirmed by a staff that it indeed had nuts, I was turned off from the entire experience. Even more turned off by how our server reacted. Acting like he gave me a spoon instead of a fork! lol. Again just funny to me how they don't realize if i was someone else and ate this sauce with a nut allergy they'd be in hot hot water! After his mistake the server was extremely smug, asking me "you didn't die right!" After my meal... oh brother! Lol. My boyfriend and I are both in the industry. My bf being an executive chef, so the experience was insulting to us as we know how important allergies and customer service are for a restaurant of their (wannabe) scale. The server tried to make it up by giving us a free shot but that didn't really make up for much, as I know they do that for everyone here. Anyway, this place is still new and has alot of work to do regarding their... interesting and possibly deadly... customer service and care for allergies. Very nice staff, great atmosphere but the food was very mid, Nothing special for the price. It wasnt authentic mexican but it also wasnt different enough for me consider fusion? The biggest miss for me though was the drinks. They were terrible! Which surprised me because their sister store across the way has great drinks and better tacos actually. The "michelada" which we had to pay extra for just pissed me off it was just a modelo with mango syrup. I thought it was an accident but they told me that was there version, No clamato, No Tajin, not even a salt rim? I had high hopes for this place since this location seems to have a bit of a curse but I will not be returning. read more

Came here twice their second week open, once for dinner and once for brunch! It's a beautiful spot and the service was great for only being open a few weeks. Both times everything was excellent, the cocktails and the food. We probably overdid it on the ordering but it all tasted so good! It's hard to choose a favorite dish but I'll note that the short rib mole and the brussel sprouts were amazing at dinner. At brunch we all shared 4 different dishes and loved each one. All three salsa options paired well with each one too! Can't wait to go back to try more! read more

I really appreciate the restaurant's ambiance and inside decor. The Spanish style interior feels comforting and transcendental from the neighboring restaurants. The layout is super open and the geographical standpoint allows for such a nice level of shade. Also, it gives a nice breeze, even in the middle of the day. Especially on the outside bar patio portion. The restaurant itself gives Cabo vacation, but in Long Beach. Super great spot to check out on a sunny well tempered day. I got the shrimp and grits which came out really fast and tasted delightful, tastefully seasoned and creamy. I also think it was a reasonable portion size. I came in on Sunday, which was their third day open, and service was amazing! Our server Jaid was so sweet, attentive, and friendly. She even gave us a couple of complimentary shots on the house, and made mine non-alcoholic. I had briefly mentioned that I don't drink, in passing, and the fact that she remembered that was so amazing. The food was also delicious, and came out promptly. I told her I had never seen the barbecue sauce before and asked what it looked like. She repeatedly just said "it looks like barbecue sauce" instead of simply showing it to me or explaining it. I even asked if she could show me the sauce, and she still responded dismissively and seemed annoyed that I was asking basic questions before deciding what I wanted on my food. What made the interaction worse was that there wasn't even a line or rush happening at the time. I wasn't trying to hold anything up -- I just wanted to know what I was ordering. The receipt listed the employee name as "Estuardo," although the employee helping me was a woman, so the register name may not match the actual employee. I'm leaving this review as constructive feedback because a little patience and friendliness goes a long way with customers.

The menu itself is a bit on the higher end, but it's a great spot to split and share. Cesar salad and sourdough are a must! The pizza looked intriguing but we opted for three pasta dishes instead. Fusilli was my favorite, followed by the Cacio e Pepe, and then lemon pasta. I liked the unique noodle options and was satisfied with the dishes. It wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, you're definitely paying for ambiance and the experience. They serve tap water, so we ordered soft drinks and many tables had wine. Since they're so busy, they're constantly bussing your table to encourage you to leave. I don't think this is the best place to catch up with friends. Overall a unique spot in LB!

We started with the meatball appetizer and the homemade focaccia bread served with their house made butter, both were absolutely delicious! The focaccia was fresh, warm, and so good that we couldn't stop eating it. We also shared the Tavern Burger, a flavorful smash burger cooked perfectly and served with seasoned fries that were crispy and tasty. To top it off, our table shared a large Supreme pizza, which was loaded with toppings and didn't disappoint. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. Great food, outstanding service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's always nice to support a small, family-owned business that's doing things right. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Long over due review. Disclaimer, this is from a visit prior to their grand opening so take it for what it is. We were hoping to have a large party seated at Ammatoli but they were fully booked. We noticed the new hip Mexican type restaurant next door and decided to give it a try as they could seat us immediately... warning this may be the only positive. We arrived and stated we needed a high chair for an infant. they stated they had one available and could seat us immediately. That was a lie, we didn't get a high chair, ever. We asked for waters and drinks which took about 20-30 minutes to come out. We then ordered our food as soon as the drinks got to us. First - no chips and salsa provided, a pretty cheap side dish that is traditionally provided at real Mexican restaurants at no cost. No problem, we paid for two sides of chips and salsa and were provided a small plate with chips and a salsa sampler set. Not bad, salsa was decent but nothing special. Our food arrived FORTY FIVE minutes later. We thought okay maybe it'll be worth it. We spent over $300 this day and ordered from all over the menu. Aguachiles had overcooked rubbery shrimp that were fishy smelling. Not a traditional aguachiles recipe used. We got 3 burritos, chicken, fish and beef cheek. The cheek burritos were full of fat, and of course rice and beans. What threw all of us off however was this weird sweet Cole slaw type ingredient. Very out of place and not something you find in burritos. After nearly finishing our meal, the alcoholic drinks came! They were also okay, nothing epic. Here comes the kicker... We finished eating, paid for our food. However, we get the receipt texted and realize once we're home we were charged for another tables order. I immediately call and I'm told to text a certain number to deal with it. Fine, do so, get ghosted and after several outgoing texts, I get swarmed with texts and called at nearly midnight. 8+ hours later is when this restaurant decided to deal with this issue, rather than when it was fresh in everyone's mind. At this point I'm deciding on back charging this since they can't seem to figure out what went wrong. Eventually I send multiple pictures of my order and the problem is resolved about 12 hours later. All in all, this is not authentic Mexican food, their staffing and service stinks pretty bad because of the lack of high chair (or lying that they had one?) and the amount of time it takes to get water, fat in the meat for a burrito that's nearly $20, no chips and salsa provided, and the lack of attention to detail when handling problems like the one I described. Was hoping this would be a great addition to an area that could use a legit Mexican food spot. read more

I have given this place 4 tries and I thought it would be better by now. I have been here for brunch lunch and dinner, the restaurant itself is really nice and spacious but the food always is a miss. Service is horrible. Hostess's each time look scared and dont know where they are going, waitresses know nothing and bartenders seem so busy that they are rude to you. We sat at the bar twice at different times and once a girl named Brenda didnt greet us and said "do you guys know what you want?", no hello, she was obviously in a bad mood and was rude, gave us our drinks until what seemed 15 min later. She didn't ask us if we wanted anything else, said under hear breath to another bartender that this place was a shit show and another bartender started helping us. Third time there, there were male employees yelling at each other in the kitchen. If you have an open kitchen maybe watch your language especially if there are tables nearby, I was able to stand up and turn around to see. It visible and audible. Food is always cold and lack flavor and its disappointing because I really wanted to like this place. They hide their problems by giving everyone shots which tastes as if its just juice. I went back this past Saturday and this was where the straw that broke the camels back, we sat at the bar at first, hostess said we can wait there for our table, there were so many drunk people it felt like i was back in college and i had my mom with me this time. We were sitting in the outside part of the bar and there were these young men that were drinking a big jug of alcohol, I am not joking when I say these men looked like they were 19, and did not see the waitress ask for ID. I noticed each time that everyone that works here look like chickens with their heads cut off and always look mad. Management need to hire better people. So disappointing for my city. read more

First things first, simply wow! I was absolutely blown away by this place. My boyfriend and I ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and it was positively Divine and seasoned to perfection. I got the Dr Pepper themed cocktail and it worked so well with the luxardo it made me think "well duh, of course these two things go perfectly together" and the same could be said for the rest of our experience. My boyfriend went out on a limb for himself and got the beef cheek burrito and absolutely devoured it. I myself got the carne asada bowl and the flavors were so impressive it makes you so excited for your next bite you simultaneously have to remind yourself to slow down so you don't hork it all down in 2 minutes in front of your date. My boyfriend and I also have vegetarian moms, so upon sitting down and reading the menu we both texted images to our respective mothers to let them know their vegetarian options sounded intriguing and delicious as opposed to some vegetarian dishes which just feel like a lack thereof. Our server was Megan and she was the best! She helped guide us through the menu and pick out our drinks and food! To my understanding she's part owner with Stephen, who we also met and got to speak with, and it just gives this environment of home cooked meals shared amongst friends. Bites you want to savor and talk about, drinks you want to order again and again with old friends and family alike, and desserts your kids will beg you for. I cannot wait to come back and try more items and bring the rest of my family and friends. It's such a beautiful space filled with personal touches that make you feel right at home. My husband and I came to Buen Provecho in Long Beach for a date night, and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was beautifully plated and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen really cares about presentation and quality. The chicken flautas were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the enchiladas were rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. Even just looking at the dishes you could tell there was a lot of attention to detail. But what truly made our night stand out was our server Reina she was honestly amazing. From the moment she greeted us, her energy and personality immediately set the tone for the night. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive in a way that never felt forced or rushed. She checked in on us at the perfect times, made sure we had everything we needed, and made us feel comfortable and taken care of the entire evening. You can tell Reina takes real pride in what she does. She didn't just serve our table, she created an experience. Her vibe was positive, friendly, and professional all at the same time, and she made our date night feel special. It's rare to come across service that feels this genuine. The food at this place was one of the worst I've ever had, and it was incredibly overpriced for what it was. The coconut tiger milk dish looked and tasted like the fish had just been caught and wasn't even marinated--terrible flavor. The chips and salsa were disappointing; you have to pay extra for them, and the salsa was awful. Two out of three sauces lacked any flavor, and the one that was okay didn't improve things. The lemon salt chili chips overwhelmed the other flavors and didn't even match with the salsa. One of the chips was just a fragment many tortillas pile for one chip. I'll add a photo so you can see. The enchilada resembled a cookie covered in plain green tomatillo sauce with no flavor whatsoever. The margaritas were a joke--a tiny cup with a super sweet taste, and certainly not worth the price. We won't be returning. I hope this review prevents others from falling into the same trap. Additionally, the service was slow, and the plain water tasted like mildew. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Best of luck if you decide to try it. read more

Came here recently and had such a good experience. The food was really good everything tasted fresh and came out pretty quickly. You can tell the kitchen actually cares about what they're putting out, which I always appreciate. Our server Reina was honestly amazing. She was super friendly, attentive, and just had great energy the whole time. She checked in on us without being overbearing and made sure we had everything we needed. It's rare to get service that good these days, and she really made the whole experience better. Definitely one of those servers that makes you want to come back. This place has a really comfortable vibe not too loud, not too quiet. It felt welcoming and relaxed, which made it easy to just enjoy the meal and hang out. Overall it was a really solid experience. Her customer service was exceptional, attentive without being overbearing, warm, professional, and incredibly personable. What really stood out was her product knowledge. She confidently explained the menu, gave thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything matched our preferences perfectly. Worst experience by far. Whoever was in the front taking names down needs to taught how to do their job AGAIN. I showed up with a party of 10, they took my number down (never received a text) said about an hour wait. Which is reasonable right? Come back about 50 minutes later to check in cause I never received a text to find out my party was never input into the waitlist.....made us wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. (Our first time at this restaurant so we wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves for their first mess up) so FINALLY we get seated and wait an additional 20 minutes to be attended and another 10 minutes for water the be brought out....with no cups what a joke of an Establishment! We left and went to yard house down the street for better service where our money and business would be appreciated. read more

Buen Provecho offers more than just food--it provides live entertainment at no extra charge. During our visit today, the real stars of the show were the rats sprinting across the patio and around the dining area. If you've ever wanted dinner and a wildlife encounter at the same time, this is the place. The food was fine, but it was hard to compete with the excitement of wondering where the next rat would make its entrance. As a bonus attraction, be careful with the chairs. One of them gave up halfway through the meal and sent a guest straight to the floor. Nothing says "authentic dining experience" quite like unexpected furniture failure. Overall, if you're looking for dinner, you have options. If you're looking for dinner, a rat safari, and a surprise trust fall, Buen Provecho might be exactly what you're looking for. read more

I rarely leave reviews like this, but my recent experience here was absolutely terrible. We sat on the patio and witnessed multiple rats running along the wall and across the floor This is a massive health code violation and completely ruined any chance of enjoying the evening. It took a staggering hour just to get a beer Overall, the service is incredibly slow and inattentive. I ordered the ribeye, and it was incredibly tough and difficult to eat. They actually charge extra for house salsa. To make matters worse, the bottled salsa on the table was brutally, blindingly spicy completely ruining the flavor of my meal. Between the pest infestation, the snail-paced service, upcharging for basics, and subpar food, I will absolutely not be returning. Service was ok, ambiance chill, and staff were nice. However, I was sooooo disappointed with the food quality for every item at our table of 5. Our table ordered a few burritos and enchiladas suizas, and they were all either too bland, too salty, or had dry meat. I specifically had the enchiladas suizas with chicken and the chicken had a few bones in it!!! Also the enchilada dish wasn't even enchiladas, it's some weird small serving size item on a skillet that looked more like a mulita drenched in green sauce. My sides of rice and beans were just as bad. Rice was extremely salty to the point where I don't think the chef even tasted the batch they made. The beans were tasteless, just s$it food. I am extremely sad because this is my second time here, the first time the food was amazing. Will not be returning. read more

Meg was the SWEETEST BABY DARLING angel ever. through no fault of her own, things were really busy and she wasn't able to get to us for a minute. She bought us all a round of shots to apologize for the wait, then brought me some damn delicious tacos. I didn't finish them, but it wasn't because they weren't delicious!! It's because I'm on a GLP-1 and it was the day after injection, LOL. Still, the chicken tacos were super delicious. The perfect mix of spice and garlic, and the green salsa was lovelyyyyy. Meg was an angel baby and she deserves all the money and tips in the world. They played polka-esque covers of songs, which reminded me of Weird Al. I'm not mad about it! First time and service was awesome! The food here was tasty! And the atmosphere was phenomenal! We saw this place on Tik Tok and we decided to give it a try, such a great idea for us on a Sunday. Let's not forget our server Abby, there's one thing about just serving guests- but Abby has a connection! She shares her opinion on favorite dishes and suggestions! She knows what guests are expecting and tries to accommodate to the best of her ability. Finally, Joy is here for the reassurance, walking around and asking if there is anything missing that she can help with and asking about further thoughts about the restaurant experience. Went to Buen Provecho to celebrate a retirement and birthday on a Saturday evening. Laura was our waitress, she was attentive and thorough with our order. We ordered the share platter for the table which costs $180, there were 7 of us and came with 3 types of steak, lobster (which I found to be a little dry), beans, rice, guacamole, chips, shrimp & grits, pickled vegetables and corn tortillas. The platter was shared and cleaned off with enough for a leftover dog bone. We also ordered and shared squash blossom quesadillas, Brussel sprouts and camotes. The food was delicious and warm. The drinks were a nice accompaniment to the meal, we ordered beers, old fashions and margaritas. I really enjoyed the evening, the company, environment and food. read more

I recently had dinner at Buen Provecho in Long Beach and was blown away by both the food and the service. Our server, Laura, was absolutely fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations, checked on us at just the right times, and had a warm, welcoming attitude that made the whole experience feel personal. You could tell she genuinely cared that we enjoyed our meal. Thanks to her, everything ran smoothly, from drinks to dessert. I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. It took quite a while for the waitress to even come by and take our drink order, which set the tone for the rest of the visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. I ordered the pozole, and it came out lukewarm and lacking flavor. I also had to ask multiple times for limes, and the waitress kept forgetting, which was frustrating. I also tried the tostadas, but the portion was extremely small and, again, not very flavorful. Overall, the service was slow and inattentive, and the food just didn't meet expectations. I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic Mexican food. read more

She informed us that our wait time was 45 minutes, which was no problem. We patiently waited and strolled around the restaurant. After a total of 50 minutes had passed, we returned to the waiter. Just have to share! I showed up for lunch yesterday with my travel weary cousin and my dog, in the pouring rain. The employees made us feel so welcome! They gave us a table on the patio even though it was closed, checked on us over and over, turned down the music at our request, gave my dog a hamburger patty (he'll never be the same), gave me a free drink they accidentally poured for someone else .. it was incredible!
