Very happy with our meal at Buffalo Cafe. We had a Good Medicine burger and Wheatfish & Chips. Both were excellent. The side of coleslaw was top notch - a little spicy for slaw but very good. The service led something to be desired. Avery was our server and I think she must have had too big an area. It was busy, we were given a 45 minute wait and we were seated after closer to an hour, no thanks for waiting, no one showed us our table just kind of Lapin Ted to a booth. We sat in our booth for 20 min before we ever saw a server, no offer of drinks etc. After 20 min, Avery showed up, didn't offer suggestions etc, barley said Hi. Didn't take drink orders. We ordered and never saw her for 45 min when she came and dumped off our food (which was good), and we asked for check because we didn't want to wait 20 min to see her again. She brought our check and never came back to check us out or see if we wanted anything else, refills on water etc. we paid cash because my husband said she's not coming back....and she didn't. I wouldn't recommended this place if they can't handle the busy tourist season or at least acknowledge customers. read more

I really wish I could give rave reviews, but i just can't. We were given a 20-25 minute wait by host, but after 40 minutes we were still waiting. Coming in for brunch ended up taking just shy of 2 hours. This place is very busy, so if you're not in the mood for a crazy wait, skip it. The food was average. Based on other reviews I was hoping the wait would be worth it, but it just wasn't. I had the Shrimp Cake Eggs Benedict. I love good Hollandaise sauce, but this wasn't it. Son had Avocado Toast and Eggs Benedict. He was ok with the Benedict but didn't care for the avocado toast. Service was good for how busy it was. Waitress was friendly and good with refills. Parking outside is a 2 hour limit and we were told they ticket heavily, so be aware of your time. read more

We ate here for breakfast. I ordered their signature Buffalo Pie, the Leslie. It just said "grilled vegetables", but it was mainly broccoli. I found the hash browns were a bit dry. Their blueberry buttermilk pancakes were fantastic as was the huckleberry milkshake. Their service was excellence. The restaurant was smartly decorated with a beautiful copper ceiling, but it made it a bit loud. It's busy, so get there early. read more

We came here for breakfast on our way to Missoula from Glacier NP. I was expecting your typical diner fare and was blown away. I had the Morning Glory Buffalo Pie (spicy sausage patty with two poached eggs on top of hash browns and smothered in gravy) and my boyfriend had the KC Bacon Buffalo Pie. We also shared a stack of huckleberry pancakes a la carte. Everything was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The staff was friendly and checked in on us without smothering us. We didn't feel rushed or like we had to wait for service or our check. I was a bit surprised it was so busy on a Tuesday morning (about a 20 minute wait at 10am), but after tasting the food, it makes total sense and was worth the wait. I had salmon entree, and ate what I could, took home the rest. Good flavor, strong ginger-maple glaze. Carrots and garlic-mashed potatoes were so good I actually ate them. My wife had a burger and ate it all before I could nab a bite. I guess she liked it. My husband has been getting to eat lunch here, while he works in Whitefish, so he brought me over for viddles on the way to GNP. There was a short wait due to the fact we showed up at noon on Sunday in a tourist town. They were serving breakfast and lunch. I will take lunch over breakfast any time, so I was happy. I ordered the fish tacos on my husband's recommendation. The menu says two tacos, but you get three. The halibut is fried and it really looks like one long piece is cut up to go onto all three. The menu also says they have sour cream, which I didn't apparently miss because I only remembered it after I was done. They were $9.95 and worth it. If you want fries it is another $1, which I ended up doing. I usually take the salad over the fries but it was a fry kinda day. I ordered a side of ranch. Which had a coconut undertone to it. Had I ordered salad and had that, I am not sure I could have finished it. I love coconut, but thinking of it on my salad, not so much. I did ask the waitress about that, and she said she had no clue why it tasted like coconut, she only knew they made all dressings there and they can change day to day in flavor. Drink refills were slow and we had to ask for them despite the waitress looking right at the glasses every time she walked by. Looking at other people's stuff the portions look big for the prices. My husband did say he had the peach french toast and was expecting bread but it was more like coffee cake. Still good, but he was in the mood for french toast. I would go back and try more of their stuff without hesitation, even though he has said his lunches there have been hit and miss. read more

Nothing super impressive. The service that night was wonderful and our server was very attentive. We came back for breakfast as there are only a few places in town and the chorizo and egg breakfast I got was really sub par. The chorizo was completely dry and I could tell it was just not quality ingredients. The service in the morning, granted relatively busy, was almost nonexistent. If you need to feed yourself it's worth a stop but there are a couple other quality breakfast spots we hit up in town. read more

I was in the mood for the Fish & Chips but should have ordered the Buffalo Meatloaf. The Cod was tough and was over cooked. The Malt Vinegar was Heinz brand and was terrible. The Tartar sauce was mainly mayonnaise, horrid. I will wait for my trip to Alaska this summer and get truly superb Fish & Chips. My husband ordered the Cheeseburger and said it was 4 star.
