    Hot sauce for garlic noodles
    Kristine F.

I've been here twice now and figured it's time for a review. Solid Burmese spot when I'm craving tea leaf salad! Eats: Tea Leaf Salad Chicken Palata Salt n Pepper Calamari Fish Pumpkin Curry (crispy breaded filet) Garlic Eggplant Nan Gyi Dok noodles Coconut Rice My usual order consists of the salad, flaky palata flatbread, and the noodles (like a yellow chicken curry with wide rice noodles). Burmese coconut rice is sticky and sweet like dessert. I prefer plain jasmine rice but my friends like the coconut variety. Tea leaf salad has so many crispy crunchy textures with the tea leaf oil dressing. I love it! I'm not a huge fan of eggplant because it gets mushy but their's is firm enough for me with excellent garlic sauce. Their blue green water cups are from IKEA, which I thought was pretty cool. Employees are attentive and courteous. The first time I ate here, we arrived 45 min before closing and they were still nice to us. They didn't kick us out but we felt bad and left 15 min past close time. I'll definitely come back!

    * Tea Leaf salad is amazing. Definitely recommended. We went here for lunch and ordered Tea Leaf Salad, Black Pepper Chicken, and Swai Curry with coconut rice. Coconut rice, definitely recommended. The black pepper chicken has a nice crunchy breading. It has a savory sweet taste too. The service was fast. There were a lot of tables during weekdays at 1pm maybe because lunch hour was almost over. They're open until 2:30pm for lunch service. I also tried the Eggplant in garlic sauce and the Mango Swai a week later. Both of them are tasty. Overall it's a good restaurant. It's nice to have Burmese Cuisine options. I'm still am on to try more dishes here. So far Tea Leaf Salad is my favorite.

Food is good. Lot of options for vegetarian. Dishes come fast and order are all correct. Great place to celebrate with friends or business clients. Reliable quality. Parking is a little tough.

This was my first time tasting Burmese and I loved it! The food was delicious, service was good, and we didn't have to wait long on a Friday night. Definitely going back. We ordered: - Samosas: good flavor. Didn't need the accompanying sauce. - Palata with Curry Dip: delicious! The Palata was perfectly crispy. The dip paired deliciously with it. Not too strong or overpowering. - Crispy Pork Belly: this was OK. It wasn't as chewy as we thought it would be. I liked that. - House Noodle: so tasty! I loved it. Highly recommend. - Mango chicken: this was OK. I love the flavor, tastes like eating a mango, but I wish the chicken was fried, it's grilled. It would pair nicely with rice. Not bad, just not my preference. - Chili Beef: this was delicious! The beef was tender and packed with flavor. Not too spicy. - Pineapple Fried Rice: Great addition to our order. Really good.

Hello Burma Taste! My friend and I ordered the rainbow salad, coconut chicken noodle soup and mango chicken with steamed rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. I always love Burmese cuisine and I love how the flavors and textures just absolutely pop. It is because of Burmese cuisine, I joined Yelp over 20 years ago and still to this day, Burmese cuisine is my absolute favorite. I love how fresh everything tasted and the staff was very friendly and nice. I can't really eat spicy food and the staff was able to separate all the spicy chilies from all of the food. That is a big Plus in my book. My friend loves spicy food so he enjoyed all of it as well. I cannot wait to come back and try more items on their menu.

It was my first time eating here. We got seated quickly since there weren't many folks in the restaurant, since it was during the winter holidays & people were prob out of town right before NYE. We ordered: Tea Leaf Salad - Ok. Wouldn't try again. A bit too fermented. Burma Crispy Chicken - Think an upgraded Chinese orange chicken that's nice & crispy with a thin crust! Yum!! 10/10 would order again! Best thing I had there!! Nan Gyi Thoke Noodles - Yummy! I would order again! The staff were very attentive. I had a pleasant experience here & would come back!

I have been to Burma Taste for lunch quite often. Last night I ordered it to go. I don't know if it was the cold weather and hot food combination or the spicy sauce they gave - But OMG, I loved the food! We got black pepper prawns, lemongrass chicken and garlic green beans. I always enjoy the tea leaf salad! When I asked for the hot sauce to go, the lady asked me, how many - I said 2 - she gave it without hesitation. I love hot sauces, but this was super spicy. Handle with caution :) Post Covid, they have created an outdoor seating for this place. Ambiance is great. They have a lot of great restaurants on Murphy street now to choose from :)

Heard about this place and decided to try it out. Got the Tea Leaf Salad, Samosa, Pumpkin Curry, Burmese Curry, Burmese Chow Mein, and the Eggplant Garlic. Tea salad is super savory as the dressing is made with fermented tea leaves. It's was delicious and refreshing. The samosa were fried well and hot. Wouldn't necessarily get them again though as there are other options on the menu. The curries were both amazing. They were flavorful, but not spicy spicy so those with a low tolerance are able to enjoy them. The Burmese curry, to me, tasted similar to some Filipino dishes and the chicken that we got with it was super tender. The pork in the Pumpkin curry was also super tender which I liked. As for the Chow Mein, I probably would've rather tried the House noodles. Eggplant was very tasty. All the food came out in like 10-15 minutes which is super fast. Service was nice and friendly. There's plenty of seating inside and some outside. Parking can be tough if it's busy but there's always the parking garages. Overall, great food, go check them out!

My friend and I visited this location on a Friday evening at around 7pm. When we arrived we were surprised that there was extra outdoor seating since the space is covered and has space heaters. We were greeted and seated immediately which was a huge plus in my book. To kick things off, we ordered several dishes to prepare for a family style meal. The first dish we ordered was the tea leaf salad since you can't go wrong with that - it ended up being mediocre. Compared to the previous tea leaf salads I've had such as Mingalaba in Burlingame, this one just didn't have the right kick. The next thing we ordered was the garlic noodles with shrimp - the noodles on this dish was bland, it really lacked flavor and there was about 5 shrimps in that dish... I highly do not recommend this dish. Lastly, we ordered the pepper chicken which was the highlight of the meal - pair it with a bowl of jasmine rice and it was pure perfection. Overall, I'd say definitely come and try it. My more accurate rating for this spot would be about a 3.7 stars.

Decent food, good atmosphere. Went here for dinner to celebrate a birthday and they gave us a complimentary birthday vanilla ice cream with a candle, served with a sprinkle of edible birthday confetti flakes, a candy cherry , and orange slices in a martini cocktail (triangular) glass!! The ice cream was rich and creamy and had a gelato-like texture and consistency without feeling too thick or heavy. We ordered the black pepper beef, vegetable curry (green beans, carrots, okra, eggplant, tofu), and samosas. Loved the potato samosas!! The beef had nice flavor but was really tough and hard to chew/break apart for some pieces. The vegetable curry was soupy and tasted really good (green beans and tofu were a highlight, and eggplant was good but there was only 1 tiny partial piece of eggplant included in the dish), but doesn't come with rice. We had a nice dinner overall and the waitress gave us a bag automatically for our Togo boxes - that attention to detail was appreciated! Service was efficient and friendly!

We came here on Sunday night for dinner. There was little wait and we were seated pretty quickly. The ambiance was lively and the waiters were super friendly and came to check in on us and fill up water multiple times. We ordered: - Tea Leaf Salad - Delicious and loved the flavor, highly recommend this! - Sesame Chicken with Jasmine Rice on the side - The Sesame Chicken was pretty good - a bit too sweet for my liking, but a good combination with the rice. The rice is not included and will need to be purchased separately. The portion sizes are very generous and you can easily share the food and eat it family style. Overall, I had a good experience and will be back in the future to try other items on the menu!

My favorite Burmese restaurant! Stumbled on it on DoorDash. But it's too easy to miss if you're casually strolling on Murphy Ave. it's on the far end relative to where all the other restaurants are. Once you get there, there's both indoor/outdoor seating with casual ambiance. Service was good & faaast! Lychee Martini: 5+ stars!! If you like lychee this is it. It's not just faint flavoring but you can actually taste the fruit & comes with 3 pieces as garnish. The tea leaf salad & samosa soup won't disappoint you either - 5 stars! We tried Dessert Palata for the first time. It's basically Palata with ice cream and was pretty good.

We were a group of 8 for dinner, went without reservation on a weekday and got a table inside right away. The ambience was alright. The service was friendly and efficient. We ordered a bunch of appetizers- Shan tofu, tea leaf salad, mango salad. The tofu was perfectly crispy and sauce was tasty. Tea leaf salad had good flavors with crispy lentils and peanuts. Mango salad was also good, but we liked tea leaf salad more. The server made/mixed the tea leaf salad at the table. Next we got two Samosa soups to share. It is a lentil soup with samosa, falafel and slaw toppings. Both the soup base and toppings were excellent. For mains, we got the crispy chicken and string beans which was both good. For dessert we shared a sweet black sticky rice which came with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. It was a good dessert and large enough to share for 4 people for small bites. Overall the service was quick and the food and drinks arrived quickly.

I've never had Burmese cuisine before, but this looks delicious from the pictures and reviews. Yet sadly I have food allergies. Is there any sauce on the side or a way to over some dishes that don't have Monosodium glutamate/MSG? Any menu suggestion?

My daughter has several allergies and she seemed ok with the food. They are very accommodating and helped me with picking the right dishes.

    Do they need reservations?

    Not on weekdays.

    What's the outdoor seating like?

They have a great little patio on Murphy.

But when I saw that this far-from-ubiquitous chain had opened an outlet right near my home, I figured I'd try it. And I was pretty satisfied. First off, they have a lunch special, which is smaller than their regular combo. Second, you get two out of a choice of half a dozen shellfish: I picked clams, which are really easy to get the meat out from the shell, and crawfish, which aren't so difficult to extract the tail meat (the only edible part worth the trouble) from either. Comes with potato and/or corn. Third is that the food comes with not only a bib and a towelette, but clear plastic gloves. I put these on and felt no difficulty in eating off them, and they did keep my hands clean. I like that. Although there are two levels of spiciness below "mild," I found the mild to be not too spicy, and the Cajun seasoning was delicious, worth scooping up in my gloved hands after I'd finished the seafood. Not too large a meal - maybe next time I'll have a full combo - but tasty. Attentive service - someone was watching to see when I was done, and came over right afterwards.

They're good, but not the best I've had. With my combo 1, I got head-on shrimp and clams with the atomic sauce and mild spice. I heard the atomic was a combination aka Whole She-bang etc. which is what I normally get from seafood boil places. It was ok, nothing too special, very chunky sauce with lots of garlic. The mild spice, however, was really more like a medium spice as it only took a couple of shrimp to really feel it. For my head-on shrimp, most of the shrimp heads were already like detached from the body which defeats the entire purpose of it. They were also on the small side which I know it's by the pound but it's noticeable. It was very underwhelming in terms of that. The clams were good, not much to say about those other than they were absolutely drenched in the chunky sauce. Overall, this place is ok. Nothing really stood out to me compared to other seafood boil places.

This was absolutely delicious and I really loved the sauce on the salmon. The kimchi fried rice and beans/brussel sprout veggies are always a hit so I would recommend those if you can. The mashed potatoes here are also delicious. We also tried the sticky ribs which was an appetizer which was not bad. I did not LOVE the sauce, but it was worth trying. Each rib did have plenty of meat though which was nice. Overall, always would recommend to try this spot!

I love getting a drop-off at SFO ride, typically not an early departure. This one timed out so I…read moremay time it right for an early dinner with my daughter in Sunnyvale. Sure enough we met at the PC off Mathilda in Sunnyvale. This neighborhood sure has grown. Kal's BBQ was still there, my food service account about 20 years ago. I found the PC and parked in the multi level garage just behind the restaurant. Still an early dinner time at 5:15ish, I sat at the to wait and pursue the menu. Now I've eaten several times at the Mountain View location and enjoyed it very much. This spot, well seemed kind cold, empty and I was not approached in the 10 or so minutes I sat at the bar...menu's changed. Smaller or fewer offerings, ok keep focused on what you do well, cut some costs works for me. The kids showed up, still nobody So I grabbed three menus and sat us along the wall at a four top. The server came right over once we sat and we were good. Beverages were ordered and I had decided on the Seafood and chips with cole slaw and a dinner salad. A ordered two sushi roll plates. Aa ordered something but I don't remember. The food was out in good time, I was disappointed that my salad hadn't arrived before my entree....oh well. The salad had the house dressing, I typically ask for the dressing that is house made, I couldn't hear/understand what dressing she said. Anyway the salad was good, I liked the edamame beans as a topping garnish. The Seafood fish, calamari and coconut shrimp and spicy fries, good Looking further it appeared that the cooking time in the fryer was, well inconsistent. The Coconut shrimp cooked to almost burned which made the shrimp dry, spicy fries just a notch below burned but good. The two battered cod pieces, I'm not sure as the battered crust was not too sturdy and fell off the fish. Then the calamari seemed to be cooked just right, a bit on the lighter side. I still ate it all. I didn't eat the cole slaw, it looked as if it was from a few days ago, dry tasteless. As our table was cleared plate by plate I saw Aa hadn't touched his black beans. Now black beans are a favorite of mind, these were tasteless. Aa looked at me as I finished my bite of his beans and said "I didn't like them either". The vibe was not there as it is in MV, my own sense of things. If I didn't know the franchise I wouldn't return to this location, there's plenty of other places to get an excellent meal. See ya at the next place I drive to...thanks Foodguy-Martin.
