This was a major hit at the table. I also enjoyed the radish kimchi that went with it 2. Gamjang short rib hot pot: this was just ok. LOTS of bone and not a lot of soup / meat. Big pro is there is a parking lot that was pretty empty when we went at 6pm on a weekday. Service was fast because we were the only ones there but they had a lot of togo orders the whole time. We ordered the bossam, which came with all the classic accompaniments; fresh garlic, pickled radish, ssamjang, and spicy radish, all ready to be wrapped up in crisp cabbage leaves. Every bite was packed with flavor. We also tried the kimchi pancake, and it was fantastic, crispy and flavorful on the outside, spicy, crunchy, yet perfectly moist on the inside. The Combo Jokbal (includes bones) + Bossam was noticeably smaller than the regular Jokbal plate, despite being more expensive. When we asked, the staff said the combo would include more, but that wasn't the case. The food itself was great, but based on the portion sizes, it might be better value to order the full Jokbal plate, which we saw was much larger on neighboring tables. One odd thing is that they're not open for lunch, yet they have a "lunch special" menu. The restaurant was also clearly understaffed, which impacted the service. Despite these issues, I'll likely return to try just the Jokbal plate. This combo plate cost about $65 before tax and tip. read more
