A pleasant ending to a very difficult day. Thank you for your excellent service! Our family had an awesome evening at your establishment.

We ordered the medium pork belly bossam and it was a good fill for a party of 2. The meal also provided two complimentary light and spicy soups with bean sprouts! The restaurant provides an abundance of banchans and service was friendly, although they did have a rather small (but free) parking lot. I've been to other locations who've offered plating of pork belly on a steamer, however this location did not. I didn't realize it would be a game changer as our pork belly here had some fat coagulated on the plate and around the meat once it cooled down. Not a big deal, but was noted in comparison to other restaurants that offer jokbal and bossam. Overall, it was a nice restaurant to try!

My friends live in Koreatown and love this place - they loved the pajeon. I prefer a different style of pajeon but they are such big fans. I really loved the banchan - so good, even other Korean restaurants I've had. I also liked the bossam. We tried their jokbal since my friends hadn't tried it and it's in their name. It was solid but we agreed we like Chinese cooking of pork trotter better. The cold noodles were also good.

First time here specifically for Bool Jokbal. Service was fast and nice. The restaurant was clean and modern. However, the spicy pork trotter was a bit too sweet for me. I've had a better one that's spicy and not overly sweet. Hopefully, I will get a chance to try other dishes.

We came here for dinner on Tuesday night, it was easy to make a reservation on Yelp but weekday nights didn't seem too busy. It was super easy to park in the parking lot as well which is a plus for ktown. We got the jokbal and bossam combo. Loved the banchan it came with, the bean sprout soup was appetizing. The jokbal was perfectly seasoned and super tender. The bossam was delicious as well. The portion was huge, we had about half as leftovers. Overall it was so good, I definitely want to come back again and try the spicy jokbal!

I decided to try this restaurant because I live nearby and always pass it. They have a free parking lot which is rare nowadays in Koreatown. Ordered the jokbal and bossam combo and the portion is huge and had plenty of leftover to take home. The meat is very tender and well marinated. It's very refreshing wrapping it with the radish and lettuce. The dipping sauce was delicious. Highly recommend if you're a fan of pork!

This fairly new restaurant in K-town specializes in Korean-style pork trotter and belly (jokbal and bossam). When we visited, it seemed a bit understaffed, so service was a little slow--but hopefully, that'll improve with time. What truly matters is the food, and it did not disappoint! The jokbal was tender, savory, and had a great chewiness. The medium size was ideal for 2 people, or 3 if you add an extra side dish. The janban magkusu was also solid, with a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors, and it came in a generous portion. It paired really well with the jokbal. It is in a fairly small plaza, but parking was not an issue for us!

Have you ever tried bossam? It's a Korean boiled pork belly that you usually make lettuce/cabbage wraps with. To be honest, I don't really eat that much meat lol but I think this garlic bossam from Chungchun was amazing! My whole family enjoyed the food so much, we ate so fast! The assorted savory pancakes came with various veggies, fishcakes, and sausages fried with egg--creating the pancake mouthfeel. Everything I tried here was new to me but so good! Highly recommend this spot for late night Korean food!

We had an amazing meal at Chung Chun Jokbal! Everything was incredibly delicious and exceeded our expectations. The side dishes were plentiful, fresh, and a perfect complement to the meal. We ordered the bossam, which came with all the classic accompaniments; fresh garlic, pickled radish, ssamjang, and spicy radish, all ready to be wrapped up in crisp cabbage leaves. Every bite was packed with flavor. We also tried the kimchi pancake, and it was fantastic, crispy and flavorful on the outside, spicy, crunchy, yet perfectly moist on the inside. The ambiance was very hole-in-the-wall and straightforward, which we loved;no frills, just good food. Service was normal, nothing over the top, but efficient and got the job done. Three of us shared everything, and we still had plenty of food left over. Generous portions, great quality and I would definitely come back here again. 9/10

Probably the best jokbal I've ordered/eaten, and I've been living here in Koreatown for quite some time.

    Ellie R.

Perfectly tender pork belly with all the best possible sides. The medium is plenty of food for two people. We ordered the Pork Soup as well to be safe, and although it was good the savory depth of the Bossam overshadowed it pretty quickly. The service was super quick and all encompassing with a clean straightforward interior.

WOW! The Bossam here is phenomenal We got the medium which was perfect for 2. They had a plethora of banchan (spicy bean sprout soup included) that were delicious too. We got the spicy chive pancake and also big yuuuum. They have beer & soju of course but also my favorite, hot barley tea. It was pretty busy with only one server but she was super attentive and kind! 100 stars if possible

That spicy Jokbal caught us off guard in the beginning but for some reason when the meat cooled off, it was less spicy! We got spicy level 2! The meat was so soft and right off the bone. They even had a bunch of fatty pieces for those who love chewy meats. The kimchi pancake with cheese was very good too, tasted almost like a cheese pizza in my opinion. Thank you to the employees for the amazing service! The ambiance was casual!

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
