    Salted caramel coffee

Càphin is one of my favorite coffee shops in Minneapolis. It offers specialty drinks using Vietnamese-grown beans and matcha. In addition, they have stuff from their bakery and weekly pop ups within the local community. Their staff are friendly and the interior is well lit and comforting. Though it is small with less than 10 tables, they utilize their space well and I've often been able to find seating.

Ube dream with oatmilk (left) Latte 3shits of espresso and whole milk(right) - both were delicious!!!

Decided to stop here on a lazy Saturday afternoon and had no regrets! This place is located in a strip mall with a fair amount of parking. This is a smaller establishment, so don't be surprised if when you come in, there isn't a place to sit during peak times! This place is dog friendly! Yes, you can bring your dog inside! With that being said, please be respectful. We saw some adorable well behaved doggies! We also saw one that was barking and growling. You know your dog, make the right choice... The decor inside this place is so cute! Floral and modern! Very cozy! There a plug in's next to the green couch and brown chairs. Not sure about anywhere else. We got the Ube dream with oatmilk and a latte with whole milk and 3 shots of Espresso. Both were truly delicious! We would definitely come back!! If you are in the area, give this place a try! The staff were super nice and I love supporting small businesses!!

Cute cafe within a small strip mall, making parking easy. I always love a Vietnamese coffee spot and Caphin had exactly what I wanted. The egg coffee was delicious. It definitely needs to be mixed very well but it's the perfect blend of coffee and the egg cream sweetness.

Always a busy spot during the weekends - because the coffee is so good! Egg coffee can come hot or cold - I've always ordered the hot, and I recommend it that way! The egg foam is creamy, sweet, and thick. The coffee balances everything out, also very tasty on its own. Banana Matcha is a seasonal drink. A sweet drink that only comes in large, but you'll want a large anyways!

I was excited to try this place out since I always love coffee shops that incorporate Asian flavors. We came on a Friday morning and we thankfully managed to grab a table because it got pretty busy. My partner wanted to get some work done on his laptop and it seems like only the two tables right when you walk in are in course proximity to the outlets. There's free wifi and two bathrooms it's definitely a good place to hang out for a while or just catch up with a friend. I got the Ube Dream, which I really enjoyed. It had the right balance of ube flavoring. I would definitely try out more of their menu next time I'm in town!

Great coffee! I have tried their matcha from the truck so I have been wanting to come to their cafe for their coffee! Salted caramel is a 10/10 if you don't like the bitterness of regular viet coffee. Pastries are okay; mine was a bit cold and not a lot of options in general. They have two gender neutral bathrooms but not a lot of seatings. Vibes are kinda cute and charming but I wouldn't dine in on a really cold day because a lot of the seating is right in front of the day .

Vanilla Cold Brew, Splash of Almond Milk, Cherry Cold Foam

Stopped in mid Saturday morning after a yoga class next door. It was busy but the line to order moved fast. They specialize in Vietnamese offerings like egg coffee and Mochi bagels but also had a great matcha menu and I opted for a cold brew that was soooo good with cherry cold foam! The drinks are not only delicious but they're beautiful too! The space is bright and vibrant but on the smaller side. Will definitely visit again when in the area!

Yesterday I met a friend for coffee and it was awesome to see how busy this place was! We were lucky to get a table and then ordered our drinks. I got a banana latte and it was sooooo amazing! It was a nice treat for a cold weekend. My friend and I spent a few hours there and it wasn't too loud and a nice vibe! Also loved that they are dog friendly so my pup got to come hang out! Can't wait to come back!

Gorgeously decorated coffee shop. Lots of delicious drinks and snacks. Love it here! Service is quick and friendly. It's a small shop, but I was able to snag the last open seat today while I sipped on my espresso drink.

We arrived on a weekend and it was busy which was awesome! I ordered the tiramisu latte with almond milk and it was delicious, it even came with a little treat on top! I love going to places with seasonal drinks.

Tried this place out for the first time with a friend. Really good and cute vibes overall. Service was really good and quick! Ordered a banh mi for lunch and it was decent (coming from a viet). Got the pandan latte which was 10/10! Overall I'll be back and it's definitely worth the trip! Cute neighborhood and good parking situation.

One of my favorite coffee shops in MPLS. The pandan latte is out of this world. The service is always quick and so friendly. The decor is so cute with ample seating and a fun photo op wall. The dog pics are my fave :). Really appreciate everything they've done during the struggles in Minneapolis as an immigrant coffee shop. Keep up the good work and I hope everyone continues to support this great spot - they deserve it!

I'm a little late to the Càphin hype but finally made it here on a recent Wednesday morning. The shop is located in kind of a random spot in my opinion, a little strip mall on France Ave. Inside the space is small and super bright in a nice way. There are a small amount of tables and chairs that look nice for anyone working out of the shop. There is also a small couch and a couple more comfortable chairs. There was plenty of room when I was there but I bet it fills fast on a busy morning. Now the important part the coffee. I'm not the best judge of Vietnamese coffee as I'm more of a light coffee guy and a purist who normally opts for plain black coffee. Here I got the 'egg coffee' which was dark coffee topped with a creamy custardy mixture of egg, sweet and condensed milk and spices. The topping was great! The coffee itself was lacking in my opinion, but I'm out of touch with dark roast coffee these days. I also grabbed the Pandan Latte which was a flavor I've never tried before. Green like matcha but much better tasting in my opinion. If you like flavored lattes I'd get this. I want to come back and try the Vietnamese version of a pour over next time !

Well thinking I would go to Pho Hua instead, I pulled intonthe Shuang Hur Grocer's parking lot thinking I'd grab a few things before heading north on Eat Street. Then I saw signs on the Shuang Hur building for a (new to me) Vietnamese joint in the same building. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! My Huong is an 8-top hole in the wall across the parking lot from the rear of El Nuevo Mariachi Restaurant. The place is homely, small, but brightly lit and plenty of day light through the picture windows overlooking Eat Street. It's a big contrast to Pho 79 type places that are dim and short on ambience. The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. I was seated right away, was greeted by a cheery Vietnamese lady, and ordered Hu Tieu Bo Khu (Beef Stew Noodle Soup.) It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor. There were other menu items like Curry Chicken pho and a Stewed chicken rice dish I'd have to return and try!

There aren't any "great" pho places in MN so can't be too picky. The hot and sour soup was huge. The picture doesn't do it justice,. That's a serving spoon in the picture! It didn't have much tamarind, was a bit sweet, and an interesting choice of okra; some of which were a bit slimy (as okra can get). The tofu was perfectly fried and had a nice bouncy texture. Overall it's a great value and I will always prefer mom-and-pop operations over the sterile, corporate "industrial chic", neon-sign spots that are all the rage.

My opinions are just as much rooted in the emotion attached to each bite. We live in Texas but spend lots of time in the Twin Cities. I'm a vegetarian, so I put off going to Diane's Place because it felt like the options for me were relatively limited. Boy, am I kicking myself for waiting! I told my wife after our first meal at Diane's Place this weekend that I compared the first bite (which happened to be the green scallion croissant) to my responses to certain music. As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree.
