I've seen this place while driving down Fulton but never stopped. Our out of town guests googled coffee houses and this came up. What a great place! Its super cute, has great desserts and coffees. The ladies who brought out our food were super sweet though. If we had questions, they were friendly when answering. Drinks: I would rate them 1. Coffee was okay but the matcha latte was horrible. Coffee was a bit too sweet for me but at least it tasted like coffee. Matcha was horrible cause it tasted like I was just drinking milk. Great little hidden gem right on Fulton @ Alta Arden. The barista greeted me immediately and took my order. I had a California Croissant, scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, and cheese on a huge croissant. It was hot, light and flaky with melted cheese. Just delicious! I was pleasantly surprised that they serve my favorite coffee "Pete's" The atmosphere was relaxed light music playing with large screens displaying a nice creek flowing. There were games that you could play if so desired. The chess set looked really nice and high end. If you're in the area this is just a nice place to come get a bite and chill! read more

First time visitors. Photos drew us in to check the place out for weekend brunch. The shop is cute with a nice use of space and tasteful decorations. Decor and music are very nice. This is counter service and a McDonald's style high mount menu (or QR for online menu). Desserts are made in house and they're beautiful. On that note, we ordered the baklava cheesecake which was amazing ($9.75). She ordered a Nutella croissant ($4.75) which was unimpressive. For brunch, I ordered the chorizo & egg croissant ($13) with a side of tots (+$3). I go out to eat at places hoping to experience something better than I can make at home. My croissant missed the mark. It looked like a Costco croissant with a scramble of chorizo, eggs, jalapeños & cheese. It got the Job done. Last but not least, my cold brew coffee - wasn't. They had cold brew on the menu but that means regular iced coffee here. Sorry folks. I can't see myself going out of the way to come back for overpriced brunch again. read more

This was my 1st time here & it was great! I was torn this morning whether to go back to a place that has amazing pastries & coffee or come here to try something new. After a quick game of scissor, rock, paper w/ my husband, Café 33 won... This place is warm & cozy. Holiday screens were playing & decor was nice. They have several table games to play while at your table which I thought was a nice touch. I ordered the chorizo croissant & it was so fresh, hot & good. The chorizo wasn't greasy at all & the croissant was soft, buttery & flaky. My lavender laté was flavorful also. My husband had the California croissant & loved it. My partner and I were originally walking to a different brunch spot while his car was getting work done, but ended up passing Cafe 33 and opted to try it instead - I'm so glad we did! The ambiance and decor was instantly so welcoming, and the tables were full of patrons who seemed to be having a good time. The staff looked like they were all working hard on getting everything out in a timely manner and were so efficient, even though it was quite busy. I got the salmon sunrise bagel with an iced chai, and my partner got the ham panini. Both were delicious, plated beautifully, and an excellent value for the price point! I've gotten other salmon bagels from other places that were double the price for half the portion, so this was such a pleasant surprise. My only thing is that I wish there were labels/prices for the pastries/desserts in the front cases; everything looked awesome, but I wasn't sure what some of them were. (I'm sure the staff would've been helpful if I asked, but since it was busy I opted not to. :)) Other than that, I'm looking forward to coming back whenever I'm in the area next to try out more of the menu! I was excited to try this place based on the photos of the chimichuri tri-tip sandwich. I even saw a couple drive up in an Uber to go there so I thought for sure this was the spot! It's a small cafe in a strip mall on Fulton. As you walk in there's several crowded tables and then a register and dessert case. The desserts looked old and dry...that should have been my first clue. There were small samples of them strewn in a metal pan some with toothpicks others just laid there, like they were leftover. So unappetizing that I didn't even want to try it. But my real disappointment was that the photos don't represent how the food looks nor are all the menu ingredients actually on the items ordered. I felt cheated and very disappointed, especially because I had that taste in my mouth and was so excited to try it. I feel like if they were honest in their advertising, the place would've been good because the tri-tip sandwich was good just not what they advertised. It definitely wasn't tri-tip, it was more like shaved beef - like what you'd have on a French dip. The bread was good but it was a French roll and there was no chimicurri or fried onions. I asked for the pickles and tomatoes on the side but they only put the tomatoes on the side and when I saw they weren't on the side, the server told me she could pick them off. Ugh, no thanks. I got the chips as my side. They literally opened a bag of Ruffles and sprinkled 5 chips on the plate. Not worth $18. Based on the dishonesty and the lack of customer service, I won't be back. read more

Unfortunately, it's a no for me! So. . .my daughters and I agreed to meet their teacher here to go over curriculum for the year (homeschool). The cafe is a part of a strip mall but it's super cute inside. Definitely a place to grab some pastries, a coffee and chat with a friend or get some work done. However, the cashier did not greet us when we entered, she did not crack ONE smile and she spoke really fast when answering my question/talking to me. . .as if she was trying to get the interaction over with. We ordered a croissant sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese and it came out a little burnt and was smaller than the pics we saw, 2 small cocoas for my girls and a horchata cold brew for myself. My girls wanted to order more treats after they ate their croissant sandwich but because of the unpleasant service I received, I decided against it. I'm just not a fan of spending money where I'm not treated kindly. Last but not least, my daughters noticed a dog in the kitchen and that absolutely sealed the deal for me. My friends and I visited Café 33 for the first time last week and honestly didn't expect too much at first. But as soon as we walked in, we realized how comfortable and welcoming this place is. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, the chairs and sofas were cozy, and all the plants made the atmosphere really warm and charming. We ordered breakfast with Ihor, and he was incredibly attentive. He smiled, joked with us, and made us feel really cared for -- it was perfect. The food was delicious, the coffee was hot and flavorful, and Ihor lifted our mood for the whole day. We wish there were more people like Ihor in the service industry! I've been wanting to try this place because I live in the neighborhood and always drive past it. Today was that day! Super cute ambience, super friendly staff. They were pretty busy so I took it as a good sign. We ordered a golden morning on a plain bagel, and a bacon lovers on everything bagel. For drinks we got a small Havana, and a vanilla late. And lastly, a Dubai chocolate roll as a little treat. They called our name when the food was ready, and I would say it was a little underwhelming. The sandwiches came out lukewarm, and the neither of the drinks tasted like vanilla. If she hadn't pointed out which was which, I would've thought they were both the same drink. The golden morning sandwich came out on an everything bagel with the thinnest slivers of avocado on it. By then, I was hungry and the counter was looking a little crowded with customers so I didn't have the patience to wait or ask for it to be fixed on a plain bagel. We had to get up again to ask for our Dubai roll, but it was pretty okay so I didn't mind having to ask for it. Overall experience was meh. Food wasn't what I thought it would be, but at least the staff was friendly? Maybe they were just having an off day? I'm just saying for what I paid for, I think it could have been better. read more

Wow, I seriously wanted to hate this place. All I wanted was an almond croissant, simple right? I found this place cause it was nearby, according to yelp. I went there and it was packed, I ordered one and it cost a bit more than expected AND I had to wait some time for it (I thought they were already made and just sitting in a glass case) so I was put off. Got it to go and arrived home and tore into it because I was starving. Again, WOW! The croissant was fresh, flaky, full of flavor and better than any I've ordered in the Sacramento area and Europe. This is a great FIND! Nice little neighborhood cafe that offers great breakfast and lunch offerings at reasonable prices. The breakfast croissant sandwiches awesome (California Croissant is a good one), they also have great healthy salads, we had the Green Goddess Quinoa Salad. They have a full coffee menu (Peet's coffee) and also have a really nice selection of pastries and sweets. The location is unassuming but the experience inside is worth a weekly visit.
