Surprisingly one of the best places for chilaquiles. I've given up hope because most places make it way too salty. This was perfection, not too salty, not too bland, full of flavor! We actually thought the portions would be bigger as with some brunch places but I think that one plate each is fine. We didn't have any leftovers though! Most people left this place with a coffee in hand but since we had coffee right before we didn't get the chance to try it. The enchiladas were so good too and their habanero sauce really is super spicy!! All in all, I want to go back to try other dishes!!! read more

A MUST TRY!! Although they always have a looong wait time, it's definitely worth it. I love their cafe de olla, delicious! & my fav thing to order are their chilaquiles... Bomb!! I suggest for the restaurant to expand their space, but overall the food & service is great!! read more

Cafe de Olla was a breath of fresh air. Having grown up in LA most of my life, I learned you will only ever scratch the surface of amazing local restaurants. I came back home to visit and my wife and I wanted to try a new breakfast spot. Quickly found this place and it didn't disappoint. I'm a sucker for cafe de olla and instantly was hooked. The restaurant is cozy, and we absolutely loved how it's a local staple. So many people stopped by simply to order a cafe de olla to go. Our food was great. I tried the chorizo burrito and my wife got a pancake dish. Our little one was also a fan of the food and for a picky eater I'm glad he showed them some love too. All in all, so thankful to have found this spot and highly recommend it if you're in the area! read more

Pretty decent overall and the workers here are friendly. The food was alright to me, so I'm not jumping to return I went on a Tuesday morning and it was pretty busy even then. My wait time was about half an hour, even during the middle of the week. Workers here are super nice but it took a bit for the waiter to ask for my table's order. Took another good while for the food to arrive but I think that speaks to it being freshly made, so I don't mind :) Horchata - 3/10. I'm sorry. My son brought me her for breakfast. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. We got there before 8am and had to wait 25 mins for a table because it was packed. But it was worth the wait. The whole dining experience was delightful. The food menu has so many variations to choose from. I definitely will come by and bring my parents to try. read more

Came here expecting some amazing food and wasn't too impressed. Start with the iced coffee, to me it was way too sweet. I was expecting the iced cafe de olla to come with just ice only and to add sweetener as wanted. My protein plate was great! Eggs were cooked perfect potatoes were cold and had no flavor. I would try something different next time. Atmosphere was peaceful. read more

Worth the wait!! Cafe dé Olla never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is so attentive and welcoming. I had the enchiladas suizas and the berry French toast -- both were fantastic. One of my absolute favorites from this spot has to be their Cafe de Olla. Just perfect! Plus, they have cool messages and quotes all throughout their walls that make the place even more charming. Definitely one of my fave places to eat. Highly recommend! read more

The food wasn't bad overall. My wife ordered the Aztec Chilaquiles, and I had the Poblano Green Chilaquiles. I'd rate the green ones a 7 out of 10 and the red ones a 4 out of 10. However, the main issue was the service. The host, Eric, seemed completely miserable. I'd honestly suggest the owner consider doing a survey or sending in a mystery shopper to see what's going on. Maybe the owner doesn't care, since people seem willing to wait a long time to be seated here anyway. Or maybe Eric was just having a rough day. Regardless, he was rude, and that's enough for me--I won't be coming back. read more

We liked this restaurant for its expansive menu and service. They had a lot of variety in their menu in terms of pancakes to chilaquiles. I had their smoothie and it was blended nicely and wasn't overly sweet. The service was good, our waiter was attentive and stopped by a few times to make sure we were good. The restaurant has limited seating so it's good to get on the waitlist ASAP read more

It usually gets packed on weekend mornings, with waiting times being about 1hr, but try to go on a weekday or after rush hour & it's perfect! Love love love cafe de olla. They have such an amazing selection of items on their menu. My favorite here of course is the cafe de olla, which is amazing and refills are the best. For the food I got the Del Norte plate which is chilaquiles with steak, veggies and eggs. I also got the banana Nutella pancakes as dessert. Seating here is limited but add yourself to the waitlist so by the time you arrive it's easy to get a seat. Service here is always amazing and appreciate the great customer service I receive. read more

This is a 5 star spot in Burbank. All the options are made with great ingredients, the staff is great, and the location is perfect. Gotta be prepared for long wait times, but it's well worth it. I've had a few options dining here and everything is perfect. Plenty of pancake options, Mexican fusion options, and so much more. Quality of food has change as to what it use to be Service has declined and noticed that the waiters don't really care much about customers unless you are white or another nationality besides Mexican or speak Spanish. Literally just got back from a gastronomical visit to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico last night and woke up craving another authentic Mexican breakfast so I went to Cafe De Olla. This wasn't my first time here, but I always look forward to great food and excellent service everytime I dine. I asked for an outside table since the weather today was just perfect and waited about 30 minutes. (To be completely honest, there's always a wait to eat at Cafe De Olla so make sure you join the waitlist as soon as you know you want to dine there.) As expected, my breakfast was amazing and this time I ordered my café de olla iced, equally delicious as having it the traditional hot way. Although this restaurant is somewhat small in size, the ambiance reminds me of being back on a holiday in Mexico with all the yummy conchas and other baked goods displayed in the glass cabinets inside the restaurant. It's no surprise why there's always a long wait to eat here. I am truly a fan of Cafe De Olla and will keep going back over and over again. read more

Forgot to write my review a while ago so let's go with what I remembered. The classic Cafe de olla iced latte is 10/10! Love it and would keep it in a flask if I could. I always get the chilaquiles divorciados and it has such a good balance between the sauces. Service is the average wait but the employees there are always so nice and welcoming. Because it's such a good place, the wait time is timing. If you join the waitlist you have to go to the restaurant for your time to actually start so beware. Overall, this tiny, cozy restaurant has such a big impact on my stomach and will definitely be back the next time I can wake up early to get there before the crowd starts to form. read more

This is by far my favorite breakfast spot! You can find me here almost every weekend. I usually get the Nopalitos con Huevo, they are so delicious!! I've tried all the combos and some of the their lunch options. You will not be disappointed! Food: The iced coffee here is absolutely delicious! The amount of food on your plate once it is served you is almost good enough for two people to share! Their mole is SO GOOOODD!!!! Service: The service is extremely quick but, if you come at later times, it can get quite busy, but there is seating inside and outside. They give you all the best recommendations and they weee on point with the taste. It was my first time coming here, i heard really good things. Cafe de Olla did not disappoint!!! I got an Iced Cafe de Olla, and the Chilaquiles del Norte in Chipotle sauce. My mom got Chilaquiles del Norte in green sauce with OJ and my stepdad got Chilaquiles Aztecas with a hot cafe de olla. We also got chips and pico de gallo for the table, and the pecan shortbread cookies. The beef was soft and so flavorful, the chilaquiles sauce was just delicious. My iced coffee was strong, i added a couple half and half creamers (i like a creamier coffee) but it was delicious!!! The short bread cookies were the perfect bite-sized and sweet but not too sweet! The only downside, the wait time. It was 45ish mins for 4 people, but it's a small space so definitely join the waitlist before leaving your house!! I love this place and will definitely be adding it to my favorite spots! read more

From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. My drink was also incredible. It was refreshing, especially with how hot the day was, and had just the right amount of alcohol. The presentation was so cute I almost felt bad ruining it. Easily one of the best drinks I've had in the Burbank area -- 5/5. The carne asada taco wasn't as impressive as the potato taquitos, so I'd give that a 3/5. Ironically I was not only born in this town but I worked out of the same building that this particular Calaveras is located when it was in the neighborhood of the former "Burbank Fuddruckers". I even pleaded to them I would take the easiest fastest to make this and wanted to just order one drink and again their answer "we already closed everything off at 10:30" and I again reminded that was at that 10:27 & Again pointed to the Google search they did not close till 11 PM though it's a weekday and that's a rare closing hour I'll be the first to admit because I'm also in the business still yet that's what it stated on top of that they had at least five tables occupied being served. in my experience in the field with the mini on top establishments you can see in my previous ratings that I won't put in the review here at the very least a quote can we welcome you back on another day with an appetizer" considering the Oxnard and even Lately in my current town Simi Valley where I'm personal friends with the manager but will not name here did not ever experienced this before. And they themselves said I will shoot post following polite but honest review... Are you talking to someone who wears the T-shirts probably promotes on media on great services but for this review and it only on Google TripAdvisor and obviously yelp . trying to be YELPFUL , hopefully this can be received as a learning curve and in the future Burbank Kalaveras can be more helpful . I visit this place last week and I really wanted to like since a friend recommended this place but my experience was horrible, everything went wrong, I will list a couple of thing that happened and made me never wanting to go back again. They told me the wait was 30-45 minutes since I really wanted to try the place I agreed. We arrived there at 11:15am and the out me in the waitlist, I wait for 1hr and I never receive the notification on my phone that my table was ready so I want to ask what was going on, the guy tolde oh you missed your table, and I said how come if I haven't got any notifications on my phone? He said show me your phone and I did and he did apologize and said give me few minutes I will give you the next table, does few minutes turn into another 39min. At this point I was already frustrated from all the wait but I remained calmed. Finally after almost 2hr we got our table, we order our food. My daughter order the French toast with fresh strawberry's, on the menu has the option with strawberry sauce or Fresh strawberry's and we specifically asked for Fresh strawberry's. I order chilaquiles and my husband also chilaquiles and my sun order pancakes. The food arrived after almost 1hr wait, we were starving after all the wait and the order of the French toast was wrong they send it with strawberry sauce instead of fresh strawberry's and we let our waiter know and he did offer to change it or just bring the fresh strawberry's on the side and my daughter said she was starving and didn't want to wait for another order so just said she just wanted the strawberry's on the side, he did bring the strawberries. And everything will be fine even do we didn't like the food, but when we got the check they charge $6 for the side of strawberries, I wouldn't mind if it was our mistake. I know $6 it's not a lot, it's just the principle that they supposed to correct their mistake. We didn't ask them to remove the charge we just paid and we still leave a good tip because we al way like to tip good. But honestly I wouldn't recommend this place. First of all I did a Yelp reservation because usually you have to wait for more than one hour and I tough it was going to be faster wrong I arrived with my family and the app said 3 people ahead of you perfect time, wrong they remove my name from the list saying you need to check in a least 30 min ahead , so what's the F#@k€n point of do the reservation if I still have to wait for almos an hour, YELP Need to consider this And also the owner of the place, either you "RESPECT" the reservations or remove that service from Yelp, I'm a business owner and like a owner I make try to make things right especially with a service online, if is not good for me or my customers I remove it. Once we where inside one of the waitress first guy from reception, no manners at all, he stated putting the utensils, with out saying excuse me or anything, The OWNER needs to teach the principals , manners before everything, you guys are in a restaurant, we are paying for your services, we are not getting it for free, I always tip a least $10 today I'm leaving tip just for the second waitress. (new guy) The only good thing, I was a new waitress he was awesome paying attention serving coffee , because the girl who started taking the other , she just forgot about Us But she was good to ask for the check!! I've been here twice now and honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. They have the feature where you put your name down via Yelp and they give you an estimated time to come in, which basically means nothing. The first time I used it, and the estimate wasn't even close. We put our names down at 10:30, it said to come in at 11:45, and we weren't seated till 1:15. The hostess said that app is not reliable and we're better off just coming earlier and putting our names down in person. So the next time, I showed up at 9, and they said it'd be about a 45 min to an hour wait and we were not seated until 11:45. Every time I went back to ask for status, they seemed bothered that I was asking. On top of everything else, they ended up giving my table to the wrong person so we had to wait even longer. You're probably wondering why I even stayed...well, I'm stubborn and my friends really wanted to try the place, so I decided to wait it out. Not worth going back a third time, though. The first time was cool because they gave us free refills on the cafe de olla (which was actually very good). Well, that's not a thing anymore. The food is pretty pricey and nothing mind-blowing, so definitely not worth the wait. Also the place is very small, cramped, and loud. Maybe if you're going during off-peak hours when it's not busy, but avoid it at all costs during the weekend. read more
