If a shop is called Cafe De Olla, you better deliver and meet the expectations and this place does just that. I first heard about this place years ago, made several attempts to go but didn't have the patience, the wait time and line were always long, they did not accept reservations. When I finally made it in, it was worth the wait A small and cozy restaurant, with a capacity to serve about 50 people between the inside and outside, Cafe De Olla serves up some of the most delicious traditional Mexican entrees and coffee around. Try the chilaquiles and cafe de olla coffee, it's a must. Free street parking, open for breakfast and lunch. Amazing!

Now I know why this place always has a long wait. Hot tip: You can join the waitlist on Yelp before you get there! I came with a friend who is a regular and she gave me a lot of good recommendations of what to order. The menu is quite large, filled with tons of delicious Mexican breakfast options! I'm a big machaca fan, so that's what I ordered. As an appetizer, we got the molletitos with chorizo and OMG! It was absolutely delicious. I got to taste my friend's huevos divorciados and the sauce was so delicious. My machaca was different than what I have had at other restaurants, a little on the dry side, but I enjoyed it. Loved the rice and beans it came with! Another highlight was the Cafe de Olla itself! I think I downed like 4 cups of it, it was so delicious. Service here was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Sinaloa combination with elote and pork deep fried tamales with Chilaquiles, eggs, and beans.

Wow! I also had the cafe de Olla iced coffee. It's so delicious-kind of like a chai coffee. The deep fried tamales are incredible. There are is a pork or elote option or you can get one of each. They're incredible. Highly recommend- get there early cause there will be a line all day but especially around 10:30-11am on a weekend.

Waited about an hour on the waitlist on a Tuesday morning, so definitely expect a wait during busy hours. I ordered the chorizo plate, which was decent but nothing particularly special. I had ordered corn tortillas but was given flour instead; thankfully, they were really good, so I wasn't too upset about it. I also tried the Del Rey Special with machaca and chilaquiles, and this was definitely the highlight of my meal. I loved that the entomatada chilaquiles actually had some heat to them! A lot of places claim something is spicy and it ends up being pretty mild, so I appreciated that these actually delivered. The machaca was flavorful and the overall combination was great. One thing I will add is that the food was entirely too salty, but still good. I also ordered an iced café de olla, which I enjoyed, but I found the pricing a little odd. The iced version costs more despite essentially being the same drink with ice, while the hot café de olla comes with refills and the iced one does not. Service was okay, nothing particularly memorable, but no major complaints either. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would give it another try, especially for the chilaquiles.

Iced Cafe de Olla Was empty during my meal, when I finished and no one ever came to check up on us if we needed any refills.

I got on the waitlist online around 10:15am. Said about 12-12:30pm I get it busy. Checked in around 12:15pm said 20 minute wait, cool. Took 45 min to sit us. Because I actually had to go ask again. How much longer. Then all of a sudden oh just ready in a min, when there was clearly 3 empty table for about 10 minutes. So got seated at 1pm from 10:15am reservation... 3hr wait um I don't think so. And then not once did they check up on us if we needed any refill or anything else.... Smh Food was ok, I ordered a simple burrito and eggs were a bit under cooked. Overall bad experience...

All right first of all let me just see we got there right on time we got served thankfully it was only two of us. We got seated right away. We stood outside sidewalk to which was nice surprisingly. I got my food and my boyfriend got his food it was really good actually I'm pretty sure I got the Chilaquiles, but I forgot the specific name. But who cares because it was delicious lol. As we waited to get her food, we saw the amount of people that came here to eat. Definitely worth it. Cute spot. We took some coffee to go. Definitely we will be back.:)

Cafe De Olla is a Burbank staple. I've been going to Cafe De Olla for quite some time now and they don't miss. Their food is amazing. I always get their Chilaquiles and Chocolate Chip Pancakes with an Iced Cafe De Olla. They have different sauces for their chilaquiles and each one is so good. The pancakes are always warm and fluffy. Service is top tier. Everyone is so welcoming and tries to accommodate you in a timely manner as they do get really busy. Ambiance is great. A cozy breakfast spot with seating inside and some outside. It's on the smaller side so it does get packed. I would recommend being there early. Overall , I'll always tell people to try Cafe De Olla if they haven't yet. It's that good and I'll always come back.

This place is a joke! You have to wait for 3 + hours in order to have a lame breakfast, bad service tiny place fit for the 7 dwarfs never coming back. Food not so good but If you want to come here make sure your reservation is 3 years ahead I'd give it 0 stars but I can't

    El Paisano Omelette
    Anthony R.

Decided to stop by here on a Saturday morning. This cafe has an option to get in line online before arriving so you don't have to wait as long which I like. It was busy but they move fast so we only waited about 20 min. Parking can be a little difficult as it's only street parking. I got the Paisano omlette, I loved how they added the salsa and cheese to imitate the Mexican flag! The omelette had shredded beef that was loaded with all the condiments inside. It is served with a side of hashbrowns that were cooked nice and crispy. I also got a side of pancakes that come with 2. They were cooked very fluffy and buttery. Overall I love coming to cafe de olla!

Ambiance: it's a small and packed brunch place, located in Burbank, street parking only, limited indoor and outdoor seating, expect long waiting time around one hour during weekend perk hours Service: fairly slow, after seated, it took a long time to place order and receive food Food: numerous items on their menu, traditional breakfast and lunch, in both Mexican and American styles MACHACA BURRITO - **** Eggs, shredded beef, onion, tomato, jalapeño, rice, beans, and salsa, flavorful, recommend HUEVOS DIVORCIADOS - *** Two over medium eggs, one cover with red sauce, and another covered with green sauce, served cold and mushy texture CÁFE DE OLLA - *** traditional way of preparing coffee in Mexico, boiling cinnamon sticks, piloncillo spices and ground coffee, very unique flavor for people like cinnamon Price: moderate protons and reasonable prices, expect $25 per person

    Veggie Breakfast Burrito

I went for brunch during the week when it would be less crowded, wait time for a table wasn't long and we were able to snag a seat inside. Our server Matt came to the table right away, grabbed our drinks and answered some questions I had about the menu. I ended up grabbing the poblano chilaquiles (green sauce) it came with rice and creamy beans to dip the chips in. It was delicious, lots of chips so I didn't finish it all but was really good. My cousin got a veggie breakfast wrap and an iced coffee, she said both were really good! They also have gluten free pancakes ($2+ up charge) and will accommodate if you have any allergies, just notify the server. Overall service was great, food was delicious. Seating is limited both inside and outside. Parking is street only, I did find a spot off to the side in the neighborhood with a short walk to the restaurant. **When checking in, note that your whole party needs to be there when the table is ready. They won't seat you before hand.

I really enjoyed this spot! It was a bit of a wait even on a weekday but it was definitely worth it. The staff were friendly just running around due to how busy it was. It was also a pretty small place so that's also probably why they can't seat many people. I would definitely return, it was so fresh and tasty. It really was spicy! I loved that kick and how it was still edible without spice taking over. The cafe de olla was so tasty too, I usually don't drink coffee but I will now!

Chorizo Breakfast Burrito (3 eggs, chorizo, cheese, salsa and hash browns)
    Joe C.

First time eating here with friends and I really enjoyed it. My friend put our name down on the waitlist via Yelp while driving and we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated. Once the table was ready, they called us and sat us down. We ordered and the food came out extremely fast. Whoever is running the kitchen definitely knows what they're doing! I ordered the chorizo burrito with hash brown from their breakfast menu and the cafe de olla. The burrito was fresh and hot with a good kick in spice - the perfect size too. Eating it with the included salsa, it was great! The cafe de Olla was delicious too with a good amount of cinnamon and not overly sweet either. Going to be adding this place to the family's rotation now. It's great, but can get packed as eating is very limited. Street parking is available too. Can't wait to come back! Service was great too!

Ask the Community - Cafe De Olla

I see there is outdoor seating, so are they dog friendly?

We go there often, weekly for a late lunch and during the week it is mellow compared to a Sunday morning where everyone in Burbank wants a table:) I think they'd be fine with our four legged one as long as they are behaved and not bothering anyone.…

Can I place a to go order over the phone?

    I believe so

How do I add myself to the waitlist?

Joining the waitlist on Yelp is an option through the app

Do they sell their coffee grounds? I would love to buy a bag and make it at home.

Unfortunately, no, they do not. But I wish they would 😍

    Where can I park?

    Plenty of street parking!

Would they be able to accommodate a party of 15 (I have big family )?

    I don't think so; it's a small place

What time do you close the waitlist on Sunday?

I looked for waitlist from 9 am on and it never was available.

Why does the waitlist close sometimes, too busy?

Yes. It is a very small restaurant with maybe seating for 20 people. It's always packed. My rec is breakfast for dinner and go around 5pm. Or we will order to go and there's a cute neighborhood park literally around the corner and go eat there…

What time do they stop serving breakfast?

We server breakfast all day. Thanks for reaching out

Anyone know if they're open today New Year's Eve?

    They are closed!

Is there any wait time in the late afternoon?

Depends on the day. You can check the waitlist on yelp.

Are dogs allowed for outdoor dining?

Yes, they have let me have my dog outside.

Do we have to be COVID vaccinated to be able to eat inside or outside?

Hi Kimberly, We are not, we do however require masks at all times when entering/exiting the restaurant and walking from your table.…

Is there patio dining or just the tables in the front?

A few Tables inside and out the front .. that's it

    Does the Cafe have WIFI?

    Yes

Is this restaurant open for outdoor dining?

The restaurants not open for outdoor dining, even though it offers you a time to join the waitlist, don't do it. They texted us once we arrived at the cafe that they were only doing takeout orders.

Is this place open for outdoor dining now?

    Yep sure is

Is this location still open for dine in?

    No.

Hi, I'm trying to go with a group of 4 Thursday morning for a birthday breakfast, are we able to make a reservation/is the wait that bad?

When your close Join the waiting list on Yelp ! Great place to eat!!!!…

Is this place doing dine in or take out only?

The servers brought out water dishes and treats on a silver tray for the dogs- true service! I missed happy hour, but tried a themed cocktail, the onion rings, and the truffle burger. It was all great! My friends and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and our server was great. It seemed like a lot of regulars were there, which helped contribute to the overall good vibes. Dog friendly- YES! We loved it!

That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well
