We were excited to go in cause of the reviews. Sat down ordered made us download their up so you get a free hummus thing so did we. 5 people ordered different things. Mediterranean shashuka didn't taste good at all it seemed like they open a can of whole peeled tomatoes put in the dish smelled like sweat no taste! Salmon Benedict too dry! Staff was friendly from the moment I entered the door! It's a great looking space and I loved the option to just order via the QR code as I was just dining by myself. That said, a waitress and many others still took the time to refill my water and ask me how everything was. It was midday during the week, so I was able to comfortably sit there and read my book while I enjoyed the brunch and coffee. Will definitely be bringing friends/family in the future! read more

I don't typically write reviews or comment in general regarding service since I've worked in the restaurant industry and I know how tough it is when it's busy and things are running behind. That being said, this was the absolute WORST service I have ever experienced. Like I went here with two friends on a casual Wednesday afternoon- sooo not busy at all. I ordered the Salmon Benedict, my friends ordered the Roasted Mushroom and Cream Pasta, and the Landwer's Smoked Salmon Sandwich. We stuck to tap water as we waited for our food but this was the most disgusting tap water I've had in Boston. The tap water in my own apartment tastes better?? Like it tasted as if they bathed straight up metal and poured it in a pitcher. The food was brought out quickly but my order was wrong and they gave me the Eggs Benedict Florentine by accident. Not a big deal, things happen BUT they offered me a side of smoked salmon as a replacement, which normally would be ok but then I would be missing out other elements of the original dish I wanted, so I kindly asked if it could just be remade. Clearly this seemed difficult for them as 3 different servers asked me what I ordered again and I had to repeat myself as they would type into their ordering system to check. One server had the audacity to yell at me and gaslight me and tell me I didn't order the Salmon Benedict which like why are you arguing with me so much over my lunch order? It's not that deep. I did not understand why it would cause such a commotion just to ask them to remake my dish that they got wrong in the first place? Once I received my meal, I noticed that one of the poached eggs was hard boiled and the other was extremely runny- so consistency is not great but at that point I didn't even bother caring. When it came for the check my friends and I did not feel as if our server deserved 20-25% tip considering she was very disrespectful, but the way payment is done is through an iPhone as the server is LITERALLY WATCHING YOU and verbally asking you how much you would like to tip for her to enter it into the phone, which puts the customer in a super uncomfortable situation?? I was so disappointed since I've heard such great things about this Cafe Landwer, but maybe the Fenway location has better staff? Needless to say, my friends and I agreed that we would never be returning back to the Copely location- it's not worth it, just go to Tatte or Milkweed instead :/ read more

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Great vegan options. I love the vegan shakshuka, vegan soy strip focaccia flatbread, and we always start with a Buddha bowl for the table. Service us always fast and friendly. I would recommend a reservation as it gets very busy on weekends. read more

We asked to move to a seat across the room and they lied to us saying we can't sit there unless we just order drinks, but a group of people sat there and were eating normal food...? We went to Cafe Landwer for brunch, and I was so impressed with the quality, freshness, and creativity of the food. I ordered the Salmon Benedict and loved the preparation with the creme fraiche and fried capers (in addition to Hollandaise sauce). The smoked salmon had the best flavor and texture. The accompanying crushed potatoes were super crispy and positively addictive (I had to eat all of them)! I will definitely be coming back. read more

The WORST customer service. If you are someone of colour don't bother paying a visit here. We stopped by here today for brunch, the host was very unprofessional when we asked for seating of 4. The weather was really hot, so we requested a seating indoors or the outdoor seating which had the umbrella cover on top. They gave us a seat opposit of what we asked after making us wait, and not only that the waitress was EXTREMELY RUDE! The table beside us was empty, (the one with umbrella cover on top) and the waitress still refused to clean it up for us and get the table ready. My husband later went back in the cafe to request a seat beside us which was empty.. but the RUDE WAITRESS CONSTANTLY DENIED. WE HAD TO WALK AWAY BECAUSE OF THEIR RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR. We dine around similar places for brunch around Newbury street and Boston.. but never have we ever faced this kind of RUDE, DISGUSTING SERVICE & BEHAVIOUR. read more

The food was amazing our server was great but as we were sitting here a blonde girl was standing up at the host stand talking to a server sounds like she may be the manager was talking shit about one of her employees and every other work she was throwing the f bomb as there was a table with kids right next to where she was. Very unpleasant to come to a cafe and hear a worker talking shit about employees she works with and swearing while customers are in the place. Very unprofessional. I may come back for the food but I would never bring kids here and have them hear the fowl language coming from the employee. I was on vacation with my family and we decided to go have some drinks at the cafe/bar, my children wanted hot chocolate and when we saw the menu we saw several options, talking to the barista (a very kind tiny woman) she recommended some drinks for my children choco-chino and nutella-chino my kids fell in love and said Those drinks were their favorites, they did not expect that drink and that changed their mood! This was my last time visiting. The service and inconsistent food preparation are inexcusable. Nice to have an Israeli restaurant nearby, but not at these prices. Almost $20 for shakshuka with two eggs and token halloumi cheese bites. When the sahleb arrived in a tiny glass, I asked why it wasn't prepared as is typical, and the waitress said "huh" and walked off. Don't expect anything quickly or courteously done here. read more

Hands down the BEST pita bread I've ever had in my whole life (and I've travelled all throughout the Mediterranean and Middle East). Seriously, whoever is making the pita bread (and specifically at this location) knows what they're doing. You have made me a customer forever and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! This is a great place, with a great location. They recently opened at this location and it seems like they are still in beta mode. The food was a bit bland - not near as tasty as real Israeli or Middle-Eastern food. They didnt even have the Israeli wine that was on the menu. I think that they need to be a bit more attentive to quality control and then this place will be great!!! Will definitely come back for brunch. read more
