You know those places you go, where the servers make you feel as if you should be honored to sit at their restaurant? That's this place. Spent $95 for 2, on 2 breakfast entrées, sides, and mimosas- breakfast was served cold, glasses were dirty, and the guy serving us was very rude. The hostess was the only nice person in the restaurant this day (4 weeks prior to this posting, Sunday). This was my third attempt at this restaurant, 1 out of 3 was good. I don't hold special high standards for restaurants, as my family has owned a restaurant for 25 years and I understand the hurdles to running a food establishment. I've lived in the area as a local, for many decades. I really wanted to like this place and write a good review, but I would suggest saving your money and spending it on an establishment that does it right, and consistently. read more

Used to love this place, won't be going back. The hostesses are unprofessional and rude. Just as an example, they rolled their eyes when we asked for a to go cup. They were clearly annoyed at our request. I have taken a lot of family and friends here, but the attitude isn't worth it. Go to Nicks down the street. Food is good, service is superb. Advice to management, hire more professional hostesses. It's a shame that they aren't welcoming like all the other staff has been every time I've been there. read more

Great joint but if you are looking for inexpensive brunch this is not for you. My friend and I met up and $120 check later we both walked out happy. I'm a huge fan of Champagne so this was a no brainer I'm just sad that it took so long for me to actually stop in. Staff is not wearing masks. Told me they would wear them if I wanted them to. I thought all restaurant servers were required to wear masks? I wore a mask into the restaurant and took it off as I sat down. The server told me that I would need to wear a mask if she had to wear one. I have eaten at several restaurants during covid and have not experienced this. I am glad to wear my mask until my food would come. I will not support businesses who do not want to follow the rules. I did not stay and I will not be back. (Not one employee had a mask- my recollection was spot on). Just bummed and disappointed. read more

So excited to be back in san clemente and able to go out for brunch!! That being said our 30min wait for 4.5 people ( .5 is our 2yrold) and dog turned into an 1hr and 20mins!!! Kiddos have been VERY well behaved considering...as everyone the hostess explained were 'taking their time' though many 2 and 3 seats were being sat continually?! A little disappointing. Asked for a mimosa while in line and hostess said she'd bring them right over, which Never happened...we also couldnt sit with our dog(as she sat us inside back table by toilettes) and he had to be leashed on the outside fence!!! anyhow i get that people want to hang, and so did we but they could have been a little more accommodating, by seating us outside or even comping our 1st glass of champagne would have made all the difference... read more

They suck big time. Went in with my wife for some brunch, man we should of stayed home. We drove from Oceanside to try it out and were really excited. Well we got excited for nothing! We showed up and there was a ton of empty tables and no line! We thought to ourselves "wow! No wait, even better". We go inside and the lady rudely ask us "how can I help you" with a snotty attitude. Usually we're greeted with "hello how are you, how many in your party". But she was so stuck up. I told her I wanted to get a table, obviously. And she says "OK we'll if anyone on this list doesn't show up I'll seat you guys". The list must of had about 10 different names! And no one was even waiting to be called. It's like they out their name on a list and left!!!? They should of just seated us, we're already there and that's money in their pocket. Not money that out their name on a list and walked away. Well we waited outside for about 15 minutes wondering if we should leave or wait. Well we decided to wait. Eventually they keep glancing over and seems like they cave in and give us a seat. Well once seated, this middle aged Waitress just drops some menus know the table. weird. Then comes back and asks what we want to drink and we ask to start out with water. She returns with water and there's stuff floating I side. We look at the other tables and all the water has particles inside. And it tastes gross. Then she's refilling out of a bottle. I seriously think they fill it with sink water and chill it and refill the glasses with water. So we order two orders of traditional eggs Benedict and crociount French toast. Once the order arrives the same snotty girl at the door just walks up and places the food on the table like if she didn't care. *Walks up "eggs Benedict, French toast" walks away*. She didnt offer ketchup or sauce or ask if we needed anything else. We have to ask the middle aged Waitress for that stuff. And she bring over a bottle of ketchup and it's completely empty. Come on, I know you're older but you can obviously see the bottle is empty. We ask her for a new one and she brings it. She just squeals "oh!" And walks over and grabs a brand new one. With the plastic still on the top. Really?! So i sit there pulling it off, which isnt a big deal but that's her job. Over all the food was good. The service was crap. I didn't even give them a tip, they didn't deserve it. I honestly wanted to get a refund but just wanted to get out of there. Not the way they were acting. It's such a shame..... read more

My husband and I walked in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We were immediately greeted by the ladies at the door and Shortly after Antoine the owner offered me a Mimosa while we waited. Once we were seated I looked around to see other customers food and everything was fabulous. I watched Courtney crafting the most beautiful Bloody Mary with perfect and consistent garnish. My Server was Miranda she was very knowledgeable with great personality and she offered to make me a latte. This place was full of surprises, gourmet menu and impeccable service. They actually have their own book with the history of the family business. What a find and we will be back! read more

We randomly found this place on yelp. When i read salmon Benedict, i was expecting thin slices. However, i was impressed by the large chunk of salmon w/hollandaise sauce drizzled over it. This place is clearly for the experience, not the food. The $13 breakfast sandwich was two slices of cheap bread, eggs with cheese, and deli meat. Honestly kind of gross, and way overpriced. Who puts deli meat on rather than real bacon/sausage/ham for that price? It had a side of poorly seasoned potatoes that they threw some green onions on top. We've also tried some French toast. Bread is decent, but not very flavorful and the fruit topping is literally the same frozen wild blueberries we buy from Smart & Final. All in all, this is cheap under seasoned food marked up to tourist idiot prices. We can't believe people wait in line for this food. If you are going here to have a place to sit, just order a drink. The food just isn't worth the price. You can get better food for 1/3rd the price at a local donut shop. read more

The owners here have really lost there way with their prices. Today, I took my family for Sunday brunch and they charged $40 per bottle for the cheap stuff. That's double what they charged a year ago. We used to come here for brunch but this is 200% increase, significantly higher than the historic inflation we have right now. I've gone too 5 star restaurants for brunch and they were not only cheaper, their champagne was higher quality and it was bottomless. We're not coming back here again unless they come to their senses. read more

Best Breakfast Sandwich! I'm not one to eat too much bread but it was worth every bite. The lattes that come in a huge cup are AMAZING!! Our sever was awesome, I didn't get his name but he was very attentive and very kind. We ended our breakfast with an elderflower mimosa for desert and it was worth every penny. Wanted to treat myself to a special breakfast on my only day off in San Clemente. I noticed Cafe Mimosa serves a gorgeous Pork Belly Scramble and it was a no brainer. The Pork Belly Scramble is only served on the weekends, but the chef made an exception. Maybe I should have waited... The dish is beautifully presented. Crisp pork belly over a bed of scrambled eggs with bacon and ham over roasted white rose potato quarters (excellent seasoning on the potatoes). Unfortunately, the Scramble gets very salty with both ham and bacon in it. And the pork belly wasn't seasoned or rendered well which left a sticky, gooey mess of fat with each bite. For the price and overall flavor, I can't recommend this restaurant. read more

Cute and popular place. Tables are pretty close to each others so don't expect to have private conversations. Food is good. Service is okay. We got the benedict and croque madame. I'd say my croque madame was great and I felt satisfied. However, my boyfriend got the Benedict and while it was good, it was quite small (maybe load up on the side potatoes or add a small salad). We had coffee outside as we were waiting to get a table. When the check came in we were charge twice for it. They rectified the mistake but didn't like that mistep (just double check your tab). Overall not a bad place. But not a must go to for French flavors. You may have to wait for a while before seating too and they have a waiting area. read more
