Beautiful little restaurant! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu items. Food was yummy! I had the Eggs Benedict and a side of potatoes. The potatoes were nice and soft in the inside and the outside had the perfect crunch. The eggs were delicious! My mother in law had the blueberry pancakes and I can honestly say it was the most I saw her eat all trip. She absolutely love them! If you're in the area, it's definitely a must stop!

I loved Cafe This Way! It definitely lives up to the Bar Harbor hype. I got to the restaurant around 8am on a Sunday morning in the fall, and only waited about 15 minutes to get a table. They had a comfy waiting area nearby the host stand. The host also did a great job of making sure you could hear your name being called. We sat in the outdoor seating, which was covered and really a great Maine experience. Service was friendly, and the food came out very quickly. It felt like a Gilmore Girls/Stars Hollow-esqe scene. I ordered the benedict, coffee, and the blueberry pancake. The pancake was one of the best things I've eaten in Maine. It was a perfectly crispy on the outside, thin and absolutely delicious pancake. To top it off there were real Maine blueberries and real maple syrup. It was simply delightful. If you find yourself in Bar Harbor, make sure to go to Cafe This Way.

Our group of 6 came here for breakfast before a tour and all enjoyed our meals. I had one chocolate chip pancake that was really good a scrambled eggs apple juice and my wife had two eggs over easy with toast and like her breakfast. Emma was a good server making sure we all had what we ordered and coming back to make sure all was good during our meal. The prices of food here is very good and with good food we'd definitely recommend it to all visitors to Bar Harbor.

My husband and I shared: - Lobster Benedict - Maine Blueberry Pancake - Home Fries - Atlantic Brewing Blueberry Soda The food was absolutely delicious. I expected to like the Benedict more and it was so good, but the blueberry pancake blew me away. I don't love pancakes, but this one was thin, crispy, and had so much flavor. It was the best pancake I've ever had. The portion sizes are on the smaller side and prices are fairly high, but that's typical of lobster in Maine. We arrived a bit before 11 and didn't have to wait too long for a table.

Worth the wait for a tasty warm breakfast! My only regret is I wish we came here sooner in our trip because we would have definitely returned. There is both indoor and outdoor seating - outdoor was lovely for a summer morning in Bar Harbor. I had the blueberry pancake with a side of eggs. The pancake was thin but huge and had a nice crispy caramelized texture to it. The fresh wild blueberries were amazing in the pancake - so sweet and the best blueberries I've ever had (we also ordered a cup of them as a side). My husband had the Harney which was corned beef hash with poached eggs, and sourdough toast - the hash was more potato than meat but the poached eggs added more protein. Highly recommend coming here for a lovely breakfast or brunch.

First time visiting Bar Harbor and this breakfast spot was recommended over and over to us and I certainly see why! It is such a charming spot with delicious food, friendly service and is dog friendly. Definitely arrive early or at least make note that you'll have to wait because it is extremely popular. My mom and I didn't mind the wait so much since the weather was perfect, but we got there around 8:30 am and hung out for a good 20 mins or so before we were sat. The table next to us had asked if we were from out of town and recommend their blueberry pancakes. We were lucky that the restaurant received fresh blueberries just that morning (otherwise they are frozen). Wow.... that recommendation lived up to the hype! It is not your typical fluffy pancake; it is still fluffy, but the crispy edges really elevate the texture and flavor of the pancake. Of course the blueberries were a lovely addition. It'll be hard to find a pancake that good ever again. I asked the server what their most ordered savory items are and he recommended the burrito. Again, great recommendation! I love a good, hearty burrito and every bite was satisfying and delicious. Definitely recommend going here if you can! You won't be disappointed.

Great breakfast spot in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. We got here around 8am and had a very short wait - by 8:30-Pam the lines grew. So the tip is get here early! Aside from the regular breakfast dishes they have daily specials. We tried the strawberry shortcake (made with biscuits) which was very good. The blueberry pancakes are excellent - someone said best ever and I tend to agree. We ordered a second round of pancakes that were so good!!!

We had breakfast here three days in a row during our stay in Acadia, and every single meal was fantastic. The staff deserves a special shout-out, Tyler and Brenna were incredible hosts who took such great care of us, making us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. My husband loved his vegan tofu scramble so much that he ordered it all three days, flavorful, hearty, and perfectly cooked with fresh veggies and crispy home fries on the side. I decided to try something different each day: the ricotta toast on Day 1, the avocado toast on Day 2, and a bagel with herbed cream cheese on Day 3. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was fresh and strong, just the way I like it, and the quirky, colorful interiors added so much character to the place. From the food to the friendly service and the fun atmosphere, Café This Way truly captures the cozy, creative vibe of Bar Harbor. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Acadia, you'll leave happy, full, and already planning your next breakfast here!

Heard so much about this place and it lives up to its reputation. Host was fantastic....welcome and efficient. The food was FANTASTIC. I got the lox bagel...a home favorite growing up in NY...and it was a good size with creamy dill cream cheese and large pieces of beautifully smoked salmon. The carafe of traditional mimosa was the perfect touch. 10/10 definitely recommend.

So good we came twice for breakfast! We were here fairly early (7:30 both days) and got seats inside with no wait. Service was friendly, and it was very relaxed and cozy inside. Boyfriend got Eggs Benedict and I got a blueberry pancake. Those little Maine blueberries are so tasty. Pancake was the best I've ever had. Thin and a slightly crispy edge. The food was delicious both days, and the coffee was great and our cups were always kept full.

I'm on my way! Lovely breakfast restaurant! This place definitely made me feel happy with complete vacation mode. Surrounded by beautiful artwork and outside the flowers and greenery ow my....We got seated very quickly after giving my name.The man told me it was the first time meeting a Denise,my lucky day! This little hidden awesome place had amazing blend's of coffee, famous Maine lobster,the famous blueberry's and a little bar in the back what else can you ask for!? My son devoured his lobster eggs Benedict,I had the creat your own scramble,I chose the scallions and cheddar,my husband said the oatmeal was the best he ever had served with fresh blueberries and brown sugar,and last but not least my daughter's Monti Cristo french toast breakfast sandwich with ham,egg, and cheese. Service was delightful! Definitely get the Berry smoothie! This is one of my favorite restaurants we visited while in Bar Harbor! read more

Very good breakfast place! We ordered the Harney, Kit's burrito, and a seasonal salad to share. The portions were good sized and both dishes were wonderful. The seasonal salad was really fresh. Coffee was really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and the service was very friendly. We went there at 11am and waited less than 5 minutes for a table. The outside seating area is reserved for customers with dogs, which is really nice! Next time we will bring our pups with us so they can hang out too. We will make sure to swing by here again for breakfast. read more

More like 3.5 stars, service was excellent, but food was just fine, nothing special. We arrived around 9am on Friday morning and place was pretty busy and we were the 5th party in line, but seated probably within 10 minutes (line moves real quick). They run a tight ship around there and tables are cleared pretty fast. Coffee was actually pretty good for being a diner type establishment. We had the burrito and corned beef hash. My corned beef hash was pretty good, eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was nice, I just wish that the hash was browned more/crispy. Gf's breakfast burrito was alright, but the hash browns were fantastic. Great service. read more

We ate out for every meal while in Bar Harbor, and tried a different place each time. Cafe This Way was the biggest disappointment. There seemed to be a disconnect between their 4.4 star average review and the food we saw coming out of the kitchen. The home fries were the most basic potatoes with no flavor. The eggs on the Benedict weren't poached correctly. I was really hoping for some better food there. read more

We came here for breakfast on our last day in bar harbor, it's a short walk from our hotel, when we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The breakfast place has a lot of space, we feel much more comfortable compare with 2cates. I ordered breakfast as usual, girl friend ordered veggie breakfast. She said the veggie stir-fry with tofu is among the best. She is going to cook that at home later. My egg, toast, and the potato are all great! I finished all. This is definitely the best place for breakfast, we are going to save this place for our future trip. But i forgot to take picture of our food. So next time. Trust me. read more

We all have food memories that catapult themselves into the Hall of Fame. The kind of meal you'll tell your grandkids about. The kind of meal you try to replicate at home or somewhere else and all it does is reinforce just how good the original was. That was my blueberry pancake experience at Cafe This Way. First off, we loved Bar Harbor, but as with any tourist gathering spot, there's always a chance that the restaurants don't have to be spectacular to survive. That was NOT the case at Cafe This Way. This eclectic, artsy, fun, slightly off-the-beaten-path place would be a standalone in any area. The crowds were in full force, but they were still able to get us sat in under 30 minutes. We didn't take long to order because we know that 1) Blueberries in Maine are the best and 2) I was running a marathon the next day and the more carbs I could get, the better. The pancakes were gigantic with a slightly crisped, almost lemony edge. They were thin but not too thin, loaded with blueberries inside and on top, and a soft, melty butter on top. Just simple and perfect all the way around. The way they were cooked was just right with a nice tannish brown top but not burnt nor underdone. This little shop closes for the winter, and I don't know when they reopen in the spring, but all I know is if you come across this review and are in or traveling to Bar Harbor, this one is can't miss. read more

This was our first breakfast in Bar Harbor, and what a way to begin things! We arrived just on the tail end of hurricane Dorian, and the weather swept all the clouds out to sea so the morning was absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous. It put us in a great mood and Café This Way just added to the experience. We walked across the city center and waited in a very short line for a table. Our server seated us in the indoor/outdoor area, which was the best of both worlds. The interior was modern, quirky and fun, with interesting details, and lots of pops of color. AS we looked over the menu, we saw dishes walk past and were sure we made the right choice. I ordered a chai with alternate milk, and he started with some coffee. Our server forgot what I ordered to drink and had to verify, which I don't mind at all, but really made him visibly embarrassed and upset. To eat, I ordered the monte cristo, because I always like to compare it to the way my family used to make it, and hubby ordered the blueberry pancakes. I was honestly not a fan of my dish, and felt like the flavor combo was not harmonious. The pancakes however stole the show with their crispy lace edges, which just SCREAM butter to high heaven. Luxurious! Definitely the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. Service was super fast, prices were good for the large servings and plentiful options, location was convenient, and they had tons of seating and many gender neutral bathrooms for those who are tracking that sort of thing. I would definitely return here on a next trip to Bar Harbor, especially for some of the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had! read more

Very informal atmosphere and a content, soft hum of people pouring syrup on quarter-cut pancakes, talking about little things during this much needed break - how your roomate's coffee interacts with your body and why a migraine almost isn't worth a final exam, why filtered tap water never tastes the same and which smart water does, and whether to drive three hours to the nearest Costco... In Canada. One of our [new] servers hadn't learned the names of their dishes yet. Calling out "two eggs and sausage" happened to match three slightly different orders, one belonging to a vegetarian. Another server, who recognized the kerfuffle, joined to help fix the situation right away. Thanks for being patient with my family, guys! I ordered four over-easy eggs (about $1.75/p). We had multiple Eggs Benedicts, Kit's Burritos, Scrambles, and The Usuals. Everyone was happy and full and reports that the food was pretty good. read more

Came here on Labor Day and waited about 40 minutes for a table for 2. It didn't feel too long since they have self-serve hot coffee and blueberry muffins to nibble on while waiting. The blueberry muffins was a homemade whole grain muffin which wasn't very sweet but moist inside. Not my fancy for a muffin but it if you are into that healthy stuff you might like it more. For breakfast we got the Country Breakfast and an Omelet with local chorizo, tomato, scallion and cheese. Everything was good old classic breakfast but the pancakes were special. We upgraded for blueberry pancakes and they were sooo good! They taste like Dutch pancakes, light/moist inside with crispy outside. They are thinner than regular American pancakes. They also come with pure maple syrup. None of that fake imitation artificial stuff. I would definitely come back here but I would just get myself a stack of blueberry pancakes and maybe a side of bacon. read more

Great location and cute theming but food was mediocre at best. The host was super friendly but our server couldn't be less enthused about being at work that day. Great place for breakfast, but this place seems super popular, so we were placed on a waitlist. The host was great, but they don't allow u to leave the area. The host calls you by name, so you have to stay in the area since they do not call or text to let you know the table is ready. Got seated within half an hour on a Saturday morning around 10am. Ordered a chai latte, and it was really good! Also ordered blueberry pancakes and they were amazing. The blueberries were just the right amount of sweet, and the edges of the pancakes were crispy! The breakfast sandwich was really good too. Lastly we had a blueberry muffin. I saw pictures of this on Yelp, but didn't see it written on their menu. I'm glad I asked them about it. The blueberry muffin was warm, moist, and decadent! Definitely recommend this place, but I do wish they would be able to text in the future to let us know when a table is available. This cute restaurant is right in downtown Bar Harbor. It was little busy and we had to wait about 30 minutes. Once seated, we ordered coffee, water and our meals. I got the Cafe Monte Cristo which included a French toast sandwiched with egg, cheese, and bacon. I poured the house made maple syrup on it and it was delicious. All of the staff were super friendly and the host Tony was really funny! The decor and art was lovely, they had fresh flower bed, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We stopped here for breakfast after an early morning hike in Acadia. I ordered an omelette and my girlfriend ordered the breakfast burrito. The service was great and the food cane it quickly. My omelette was pretty good, I just wish I had more of it. My girlfriend really liked her burrito though! I would recommend stopping here if you're looking for a good breakfast. read more

Listen up, breakfast seekers! After trying a few of the other popular spots in Bar Harbor, I can say with confidence that Cafe This Way is not only the best breakfast around, but it's also the cheapest. This place is an absolute gem. Let's get right to the main event: the breakfast burrito. Hands down, this is the best breakfast burrito I've had in a while. I ordered the Kits Burrito with chorizo, and it was a revelation. First, the structure was perfect. The guacamole, salsa, and sour cream were all served on the side. This might seem like a small detail, but it was genius. It meant that every bite was about the incredible flavors of the main ingredients: the fluffy eggs, the sharp onion, and that fantastic, spicy chorizo. It didn't get soggy or overpowered by condiments. So many other places try to cheap out and fill their burritos with a mountain of potatoes and sour cream to make it seem hefty. But not here. Cafe This Way respects the burrito, and they respect their customers. Every component was high quality and purposeful. The ultimate test? The clean plate challenge. My plate was completely empty. I savaged that thing. This place is so good, I would honestly have my birthday breakfast here. The vibe is cool, the service was friendly, and the food is a 9.8/10. My only minor wish? I could have used a tiny bit more of that delicious chorizo, but that's just me being greedy. This place is a must for a breakfast stop in Bar Harbor. Don't even think about skipping it. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!! Long waits/lines for TERRIBLE food and even worse service!!!! Came in for Sunday brunch with the family only to have my day ruined all too early!!! We sat at the bar and should have known we were in trouble because the bartender had a strange look on her face and seemed overwhelemd! We already had to wait in line for seating (ended up at the bar still) and it took her another 15 minutes to take our order! Had to ASK for water which also took forever to get to us, and once the food arrived she never gave us silverware until food was cold. Never refilled our water. Just RUDE and unattentive. Eggs were slimy and undercooked anyways. Not even my kids liked it. Bartender was too busy pouring GROCERY STORE Orange Juice to serve her bar!! Didnt even get a thank you or goodbye after she took our money. Overrated tourist trap. Long lines for bad food and service. I'll make this short as I can; We live on the Island and have eaten at the cafe about 10-12 times, never having a meal that wasn't kick-ass! The steaks are cooked perfectly. The Tuna and halibut are moist and flavorful. The pan seared blackened scallops were perfect and that's just a few of the items that we have enjoyed the most. Start off with a Larry, Daryl and Daryl - you can't go wrong there ;) Breakfast? Let me just say this; I send my plate back looking like a dog had licked it clean! Back on or "must visit" dinner list after a bad experience a few years back with overcrowded, noisy dining experience.. Food, both vegetarian and mainstream, very well done. We had a fantastic breakfast at Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor! I had the French toast and my husband tried the Farm Harvest both were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. This spot fills up quickly, so definitely plan to get there early. Highly recommend! read more

We were only in town for 4 days, but we made sure to have 3 meals there. Delicious, fresh breakfast, with great, tasty vegan options. Dinner was also a treat with the good shepard's pie (vegetarian), oh my, Great staff. Loved it. I'll be back. read more
