I've had breakfast at this delightful restaurant a few times and it due for a review. I couldn't be happier with the experience. The first thing that stood out was the coffee it was excellent! Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced without any of that overly sweetened taste that some places rely on. Ive ordered the Eggs Benedict, and they were absolutely amazing. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the whole dish was beautifully presented. This time I went with a breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. My wife went for a selection of sides, as she's a big fan of classic American breakfasts, and she loved everything she tried from the crispy bacon to the golden potatoes. I was surprised by their house salad, which had fresh mango, strawberry, a tasty house made vinaigrette, and an edible flower. Their house potatoes were also a nice surprise, crusted in Parmesan with crispy edges and soft inside. The portions were more than expected, also, which is always such a treat. So my family and I thought we would enjoy a nice French lunch on this Friday afternoon. The only problem is it wasn't enjoyable. They were grinding new tables in the kitchen area where the food was being made. They held up this little piece of wood to try and block the sparks which it did not. Plus the grinding was so loud you couldn't enjoy your food or be at peace. When they brought the food. My whole order was wrong. I declined the offer to remake my order. Found this place when I searched for "Black and Brown-owned Coffee Shops," nearby. My flabbers were surely gasted when my friends and I went to this place after going to a play in Downtown. I live nearby and NEVER even knew of this place. I was truly shocked. Upon entering, I right away noticed the chairs were brand new, I could tell! and they were oh-so comfortable (part of the reason my girls and I were able to chit chat for a while after eating).
