The chicken pesto sandwich here is really delicious. There are two ways to get to this restaurant. The first is through the Chancery Building lobby on Market street. The second entrance is directly on Sutter. I walked by the Market Street entrance every day, but never knew there was a secret restaurant back there! I only found this place because they were on MealPal, and I'm so glad that I did! Planning to come here more often, for breakfast and lunch. It's a super charming little cafe, all the more so for being tucked away and a little hidden, with little round marble cafe tables & wooden chairs, but also very unpretentious and unfussy. read more

Definitely a 5 star cafe. I wanted to grab a decent breakfast and this place was just perfect. So many good and healthy breakfast options. Loved their oat meal - they did a good job with something as bland as oat meal. The cinnamon flavors really stood out. The tomato Basil soup was simple and delicious. Loved their coffee too. Monday, 9:30am: I can't think of anything bad to say about Caffe Bianco. This is my first visit, prompted by my quest for the ultimate avocado toast in San Francisco. Situated in the Financial District this is the perfect caffeine stop around the corner from BART & MUNI. I think I missed the morning take-out rush. I'm sharing this huge space with a couple bike riding tourists, business man in suit & the requisite laptop camper. There's an abundance of seating, a few really nice upholstered chairs and round marble cafe tables. Classy but casual. Looking around this almost 2 story space with floor to ceiling windows there's a European vibe. Bonus upstairs seating that's currently closed off. I feel like I've entered a grand hotel lobby of yore. Order counter pretty standard no frills. They give you a number then bring your food to the table. Ashley, the owner brought me my breakfast. She's wonderful. Friendly fast service. Unobtrusive soft rock playing overhead. So the main event, avocado toast, forget the capers. Four actually toasted bread wedges artistically arranged in a circle, topped with generous spread of ripe avocado, olive oil, salt, seeds & lemon juice. Not sure what the red bits were, sun dried tomatoes? I was hungry & ordered a side of bacon & eggs. Three strips of yummy bacon, 2 small fried eggs cooked exactly to order. Loved the bergamot tea with steamed milk. I forgot my newspaper & happy to see someone left a newspaper. Oh well, the SF Epoch Times is Chinese language. Love the diversity in this city. Had a delicious Cobb salad - different and better than your standard! Green goddess dressing for the win. Chocolate chip cookie was good and chewy, and the perfect size post salad. Cute little sandwich and salad place in the FiDi. Doesn't feel like a chain because of the nice marble tabletops. Seems to have cut back on the cooked foods like lasagna, perhaps a pandemic staffing shortage issue, but the sandwiches were quite yummy. The Bianco Sandwich: Essentially an Italian combo with salami, coppa, mortadella and provolone. I'm also a fan of Italian combos because I don't like picking just one meat and the meats are usually more exciting than the typical American combos of turkey, roast beef and regular ham. In addition to the yummy meats and cheese, everything else worked really well. The tapenade and arugula helped add a nice bitter contrast to the richness. I'm not normally a fan of arugula by itself, but it gets such a glow up against fatty cold cuts. Prosciutto di Parma Sandwich: A bit simpler with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella, but equally delicious. A very generous amount of pesto alongside the roasted red peppers really liven up the ham and cheese. Also, the firm chew of the ciabatta is a great texture contrast to the softer fillings. Wow, this place is darling! Very clean, spacious and cozy all at the same time. A great place with big tables or small tables and plenty of them! Right in the middle of the city, a great place to go and enjoy some outstanding and healthy food! I ordered a chicken sandwich. It had jalapeño chicken, a little bit of bacon and jalapeño ranch sauce, house made. What a great flavor! This place was recommended to me and I'm recommending it to you! It just so happens I'll be in that neighborhood in May pop in there for dinner tonight if they're open. The staff was very customer service oriented, and knowledgeable, as well as enthusiastic about the menu and the different foods. There are specials of the day, so I tried one of them! Unfussy spot for a grab and go lunch back to the office. Yet also pretty charming if you have the time to sit and eat-in for a little bit. My experiences unfortunately fall in the former but I've always thought what a cute space. Lunch basics like sandwiches, wraps, and salads but also a hearty breakfast menu. Nothing necessarily out of the ordinary but will more than suffice. Not the most efficient of lines but you get to the cashier eventually. The heart of Caffe Bianco is the overall vibe. From the folks that work here to the bright airy space with vaulted ceilings, it's a pretty laid back vibe to escape the hustle a little. One of my coworkers recommended this spot for chai tea so I gave it a try and it was great! Also ordered the caramel latte and both of their sweetness were just right. Their drinks are a little cheaper than the mainstream coffee shops around, Service was pretty good and pretty spacious, I would come back to hang out and try out their food next time! read more

Been here twice so far, both times for to-go orders. While I wouldn't say the service here was ever rude, for both instances, the service always felt really impersonal. No smiles or thank you's, but very efficient in getting the orders prepped and ready to go. My last trip here, I ordered a Chipotle wrap. Honestly when ordering, I figured it was probably not going to be that big. Imagine my surprise when I opened my box and discovered the wrap was bigger than the size of a typical burrito! Filled with chicken, pepper jack cheese, pico de gallo, and romaine lettuce, all ingredients were very fresh and the wrap utterly delicious! Price for the wrap was $10. read more

Caffe Bianco will never be extraordinary, but it's been there on Sutter next to the Flatiron as far as I can remember working in the FiDi. In fact, I recall having one of my first job interviews there back in ...oh never mind. Besides, I didn't get the job, but I don't hold that against Cafe Bianco. No, it's still a great place to get a chicken salad sandwich or some pasta for lunch. The high-ceiling, Continental-style decor is a nice change from the coffee chains and formica-friendly cafes in the area, and seating is rarely an issue at their tiny marble tables. I came in and had one of their $3.50 Egg Sandwiches with Cheese on Sourdough, which you see was quite generous for a supposedly light breakfast (see photo). The cappuccino is also $3.50 and comes in those huge cups just like you was the King o' France living in Versace ...I mean Versailles. Service is very serviceable here, and I do believe it's the only cafe in the city where the server asks, "How's the WiFi workin' for ya?" As you know, most cafes usually have some curt message on the table saying you have a time limit unless you order a succession of meals. Nope, I think they really want you to hang out at Caffe Bianco. I'm so glad that this place has officially reopened! It's under new management, but they've kept almost everything (including some of the employees!) the exact same. This coffee shop is a great place to meet with people (lots of tables) and they've got superb tea, coffee, sandwiches (the BLAT is a must!), and pastries (love the lemon loaf). This is my go to place to hangout, work, and grab a bite to eat. Whether you want a sandwich, soup, dessert, coffee/tea, or drink, they've got a selection. What I like most is the free wi-fi (with a code from the staff) and service. The son of the owner has exceptional customer service. Although the Morning Glory is healthy, the ginger and tumeric might have been a bit strong for my personal taste. Thus, I asked for an avocado smoothie that wasn't on the menu. Not only did he make one, but gave me another experimental one for free given his desire to optimize his recipe. The music fades into the background in a way that allows you to work and talk. Even Toastmasters have conducted training sessions upstairs with the tables reserved. Plus, they offered free cookies, brownies, and treats too! This "white cafe" is full of character to make it not bland at all. I'd come back time and time again just to try every item on their extensive menu. read more

Gluten free sandwiches! Yay!!!! It's surprisingly hard to find gluten free sandwiches and meals in the financial district. This place makes good food, has good quick service and the prices are fair. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to eat for lunch, so I was browsing through Ritual and saw this place was nearby and wanted to try it. I got the Chicken Pesto Sandwich which came with pesto aioli, provolone, roasted peppers, arugula sun dried tomato on a dutch crunch bread. It was really good! The service was quick and very friendly. The decorations seems very cozy and a nice place to just sit. There was a decent amount of people just sitting and either working, reading, or having conversations while eating. It's a toasted ciabatta roll with generous portions of prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, and a great basil pesto. I usually get it with mealpal. I tried their organic arugula salad. It was okay... I wouldn't pay for it if I wasn't on mealpal. It's a mediocre arugula salad with cranberries, chicken, and blue cheese. Not enough chicken and blue cheese in my opinion. Pretty unoriginal. I met a friend here for lunch on a weekday. My first impression walking through the door was a good one. There's lots of natural light and high ceilings. When I ordered I was pleasantly surprised at how kind (and not rushed) the cashier was. I have a few food intolerances and the cashier was not only able to answer my questions (does this salad have gluten or dairy?) but also openly offered to substitute the items I couldn't eat with other items for free. I got the arugula salad and it was amazing! Lightly dressed, flavorful, and filling. I also got an iced latte with almond milk that was well made. I accidentally dropped my fork and the staff at the cafe picked it up and grabbed me a new one before I could do it. I appreciate it when restaurants are accommodating of allergies. Today I came here for my first time, and will definitely be coming back. It has a spacious interior with an airy feel, plenty of seating. There were a few outlets along the walls. The avocado smash is amazing! They serve their lattes in the European style glass mugs, and the coffee is strong. As a 2-3 day a week regular I have the option to alternate between the 3 salad sampler (choice of homemade kale salad, marinated giant white bean salad, brussel sprouts, Russian potato salad, arugula salad, and whatever else they come up with that day along with a side of chicken breast), the prosciutto de parma sandwich (add turkey), as do many others on this thread and lastly they have a vegan hummus wrap (also choice to add chicken) which is unrivaled in the city. In my journey towards a perfect balance between healthy, happy and within budget I haven't found any other lunch spot in the city that compares. From what I've heard the revamped coffee/tea offerings are great as well (not a big coffee guy) and i occasionally dabble in the fresh pastries. read more

After reading all these wonderful reviews on Yelp, I had high hopes for Caffe Bianco. Alas, it was not meant to be. I went in, looked at their sample for the Chix Caesar Wrap and was unimpressed. It looked like a tightly rolled Examiner newspaper. So not worth $5. So I decided to order the Mesquite Chix Sandwich on a ciabalta bun. Well they charged me an extra 30 cents for the fatter bun. So I ended up paying $5.60 for a cold sandwich. Really I could do that myself at home. Anyway, I took it back to the office and threw it into our sad toaster oven to heat up the sandwich (I like hot sammies!). There was nothing special about this sandwich. They just gave me some tomatoes and lettuce. No special dressing nada. Chicken was so flat that it looked like it was steamrolled into submission. Sandwich was blah. Not that great.
