    Single scoop
    Deanna L.

Alot of unique flavors to try and their scoops are decently sized. I dont usually eat too much ice cream so even one scoop of one flavor could be a lot for me. I wished that we get to choose more than one flavor when ordering a single scoop like other gelato shops. The staff were a bit rude like they didn't have a care in the world, but still kind of sweet of him to attempt to turn my scoop into a rose. I ordered the strawberry honey lavender Cardomom and it was light in flavor, with hints of strawberry and honey and not much lavender.

We came here for the gelato and were not disappointed. They have many, many flavors to choose from, and the gelato is excellent quality. My husband and I both got 2 flavors in a cup. My husband got Lemon Cookie and Stracciatella. I got Pistacio and Torrone Nougat. All the flavors were great! There are a couple of tables inside and several more outside. If you want lunch, you can get that here too, but leave room for the gelato!

I veered from my normal gelato order of triple brownie chocolate to try the chocolate caramel crunch - it was not bad but a little more crunch than I like with gelato. The two scoops in a cup run $9.00 but that's Italian ice cream quality for ya.

    Honey Lavender Gelato

Caffe Stellato is such a great spot for gelato! The gelato is thick, creamy and full of flavor. I got the Honey Lavender and it was so good. The shop itself is a cute deli/mini grocery store with a great selection of gelato flavors. The staff were friendly, and I was happy it wasn't busy when I visited. It's located in downtown Burlingame, which is a pretty busy area so parking can be a little tough! but the gelato is definitely worth it!

Have a craving for authentic Italian Gelato? Well, Cafe Stellato is the place to go to. This place brings you back to Italy. It offers many Italian drinks, delicious desserts and snacks. The ambiance is totally European. Service was good, however an extra helper would have helped with the small line. Cafe Stellato is located on Burlingame Ave along with many restaurants and shops. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking.

    Stellato Special Sandwich

Cute gelato and sandwich deli spot! We came here after work on Friday around 7pm. It was packed with students. To order sandwiches, you have to go to the back counter and order there then go to the register to pay. It was a bit confusing when we got there but the employees were helpful. We ordered two sandwiches and gelato: Siciliano with no cheese (3/5): it was a good sandwich. There was a good amount of meat, very flavorful meat. The sandwich could have benefited from more balsamic vinegar and fresher bread. Stellato Special (3/5): decent sandwich Gelato (4/5): gelato was good, we got the pistachio flavor. It was interesting how sticky it was since they don't add air to the gelato. The sandwich guy (who also helped us at the gelato) wasn't fluent in English so we had a hard time asking what gelato flavors were dairy-free. He was a very nice guy though who helped us remake the Siciliano sandwich when he realized he accidentally put cheese in it the first time. Overall, adorable place. We would probably come back during less busy hours to try some of their other sandwiches and gelato flavors. They have a bunch of candy and pasta and ingredients for purchase as well.

    Lychee gelato

Was craving a late sweet treat and came across this place! Arrived 20 minutes before closing and staff were friendly and welcoming. I was surprised that they had lychee flavored gelato so I went with this flavor. LITERALLY SO GOOD. I get why they're rated highly on Yelp. The gelato melts in your mouth and the lychee flavor was *chef's kiss* Tastes exactly how lychee does. This is definitely a new spot I'm adding to my desserts list!!!

Just happened upon this place this past week when out to dinner in downtown Redwood City. I must say..it is just the best. So if you are in the downtown area, feel like getting some nice gelato with many flavors..you need to try this place!! This is a must for those gelato lovers!

Caffé Stellato is one of those places that quietly earns your loyalty. Being open late already makes it a win, but the gelato is what seals the deal. The flavors are consistently delicious and you really cannot miss with any of them. Classic, trending, or something new, every scoop delivers. Add in the wide selection of candies and treats and it feels like there is always something fun waiting for you. The staff truly stands out. They are always kind, welcoming, and generous, which makes every visit feel easy and relaxed. They also offer sandwiches, which we have not had the chance to try yet, but it is definitely something we are looking forward to. The space itself is warm and inviting, with seating both inside and outside. The split doorways make it feel inviting to come inside and stay awhile. Burlingame has plenty to offer, but this spot keeps bringing me back. Great flavors, friendly faces, and a place that simply feels good to walk into.

Caffe Stellato has around 60 gelato flavors and also sells snacks from around the world. I spied some Dubai chocolate bars, Japanese snacks, and Pez dispensers with candy among other things. I sampled 3 flavors but ended up with 1 scoop of coconut for $5. Service was excellent. I will definitely come back!

    Kristi Y.

I recently visited Cafe Stellato for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I decided to try the Dubai strawberry chocolate gelato, thinking it might be a bit overhyped, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing. The gelato was incredibly creamy and had just the right balance of sweetness. Afterward, we had some sandwiches and they didn't disappoint either. The flavors were fresh, and everything was prepared with care. The staff were incredibly kind. There's not a lot of seating inside but there's more tables outside of the place.

The food was just ok. We started with bruschetta and fritto misto. It came with little shrimps, calamari, and some miscellaneous vegetables (artichokes, asparagus?, and a single fried squash blossom). I thought it was pretty oily and not that crispy. The pappardelle alla norcina was inoffensive. It had plenty of mushrooms, but I substituted chicken for shrimp at an extra cost and got a total of 6 tiny shrimps. It normally comes with chicken, but the traditional Umbrian dish is pork sausage so they just wanted a fancy name for especially alfredo sauce with artifical truffle oil. The ambience was pretty lively for a Tuesday night, so I could just barely hear everyone talking. Our server was very attentive throughout the night, but had the general vibe of being irritated we were there. But, the food came relatively fast for a group of 10.

We've since dined here a few times, & are still working our way down their extensive menu. The Baked Garlic Butter Lobster "Escargot Style" is perhaps one of the best ways to start a meal at Stella. The Antipasto Piemontese with its salty cheeses, roasted veggies, & cured meats is another winner. While they've won me over with excellent appetizers, Stella's pastas don't hold a candle to my favorite spots. The Truffle-Stuffed Gnocchi with Brown Butter & Sage tastes like two dishes in one with flavors that don't necessary meld well; it's one of the restaurant's most popular dishes, but for me, the truffle overpowers the delicate brown butter sauce. As for Gianna's Eggplant Parmigiana, the texture of the thinly-sliced eggplant doesn't make for the silkiest bite; I wasn't expecting such a rough mouthfeel from this dish. I'll have to try their meat & seafood dishes on my next visit.

I made reservations for our party of eight for 6:30 PM via OpenTable. Easy peasy. Adding a few extra minutes to our travel time for finding street parking, we arrived just in time. No other tables were occupied, inside nor outside at the front patio. The venue, a warm space with dramatic lighting, was very clean and tidy during our visit. Trapeze's menu offers Italian fare with Mediterranean and Californian nuances. Upon seating, we were served baskets of complimentary bread accompanied with a unique red thick dipping oil which Peter enjoyed so much that he asked for more. The servers happily gave us extra servings. In addition to cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks, below are what we ordered for dinner: Lemon Citrus and Avocado Salad ($13) - I believe that Mom ordered this and found it to be light and refreshing. Ahi Tuna Tartar ($20) - I think that Peter and Mara shared this and ate it all up. I didn't hear any comments on it, though. Beet Salad ($14) - A very nice salad with generous slices of red and yellow beets and goat cheese. For an additional $12, Auntie Marissa added Salmon to her salad and had it as her main dish which filled her up. Grilled Polenta Cake ($12) - Auntie Marissa found this starter to be rich and filling. She said that Pal would really like it. Penne Con Pomodora E Melanzane ($20) - DJ was not very impressed by this bowl of pasta and eggplant, unfortunately. Paella Valencia ($32) - Uncle Danny is not a big seafood eater, but he was very pleased with this Spanish rice dish. Grilled Filet Mignon ($50) - Yum! This was my order and I loved it. Duck Ragu ($26) - Peter did not seem as enthusiastic about this pasta dish as he did with the complimentary red dipping oil for the baskets of bread. Everyone enjoyed sharing it. Bread Pudding ($13) - Ok, according to DJ. Trio of French Mini-Chocolate Beignets ($12) - These round beignets were like light donut holes filled with chocolate. They were nice, especially with the side of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Service was excellently friendly, accommodating, and attentive. For starters, we shared the meat & cheese board which our waitress recommended the off menu combo plate (2 meats & 2 cheeses for ~$40). Solid and straightforward rather than elaborate. The breads and especially the lard were the more interesting part. For entrees, we shared the diavola pizza: Good flavor with the crust being the standout. Worth mentioning that it's a softer, fork-and-knife style pizza rather than a crispy slice. Paired with the pizza was the Red wine mezzi rigatoni. Probably the most interesting savory dish. The pork sausage ragù and crispy sage made it different from a standard rigatoni. Pasta + Pizza was a great shareable combo. Lastly to round off the meal, desserts. The Chocolate trifle was the disappointment. The amount of foam overwhelmed everything else and made it underwhelming. The bomboloni were much better, particularly with the peaches. Tobias Take: Great option for people who want wine, charcuterie/cheese and several dishes for the table to share. Their meat/cheese selection and wine list are major strengths. This place shines when you order several things for the table rather than everyone ordering an individual entrée.
