I took my 2011 Hyundai there because, as a Costco member, I would receive e 15% discount on parts and service. Decided to shop local and had Caliber replace a tire on our X3. Charged me $100 for labor on one tire and an additional $40 for shop parts? I talked to a couple other tire shops and their estimates were 1/2 the price of Caliber. I paid $505 to replace one tire and other shops had estimates at less than $300. Disappointed for sure. I loved that they sent me pictures and sent suggestions of what needed to be done...but maybe before they do that, they should make sure they have the stuff in stock. I told them to go ahead and replace a couple of their suggested repair items- an engine air filter and windshield wipers- and they didn't have them to be able to do it. I had an issue going on two years with a vehicle that was three years old. I live in the west frisco area and used Caliber to do my annual vehicle inspection last year and had only a positive experience. This year, I tried going to two places located closer to me. Both we're a bust! Rude, dirty or unprofessional. It didn't take long for me to get back in my car and drive to Caliber on 423. Their lobby is new and clean, they have complimentary coffee and water and their staff goes above and beyond to help you. Talk about service! At this point my family only has two vehicles but that will grow as our kids become drivers and these state inspections need to be done annually! They are short and simple but must be done. We had our 2013 Mazda towed to Caliber on 10/8/22 because it wouldn't start. We changed out the battery before we had it towed just to make sure. On 10/10/22 we were notified that the car wouldn't start and that the new battery wasn't pulling enough amps. We said we would return the battery we purchased and for them to go ahead and put a new one in at Caliber. I was called that afternoon saying the only battery they could locate was going to be around $450.00. For a 2013 Mazda. Of course I freaked out and he happened to find another one for $226.00, while I was still on the phone. Made me have a very uneasy feeling. I get that inventory changes all the time, but to have me on the phone quoting $450.00 and on the same phone call finding one for $226.00 was unsettling. Of course, the new battery didn't change anything, so we could've left the first battery in the car. So now we are going into more diagnostics, even though the only thing we know so far is the car won't start and it's not the battery. Exactly what we told them when we brought it in. Eventually the problem seemed to be the mass air flow sensor, and we approved for it to be replaced. No guarantees of course. The car did start. But, we then were told the check engine light was on, which it wasn't when we brought it in, which would be another cost for more diagnostics. We decided to pick our car up because we could not afford for different things to arise. We understand that troubleshooting must be involved, but after the weird battery situation and then the check engine light was on, we couldn't continue to leave our car at Caliber. We then drove it to the Mazda dealership and left it with them. And sadly, they told us it was the mass air flow sensor. We were sick. I just wanted someone to know that this has been a very disappointing and upsetting experience with Caliber. We paid $1,027.18 to Caliber and $895.68 to Mazda. Very disturbing. I mailed and emailed the location in Little Elm, and a young lady (sounds like the receptionist when I had called) was the one that called me trying to explain everything. She talked over me and had an answer/reason for everything. Offered me an oil change for my trouble. No thanks. read more
