Started with the Hamachi Crudo - fresh hamachi with aguachile, avocado, cucumber, serrano, and macerated strawberries. The Momonoki Chicken Wings followed with a crispy 12-hour brined chicken glazed in caramel fish sauce, Thai chili, and scallions. Sweet, savory, crispy... these disappeared quickly. The Dashi Pesto came with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, dashi-infused pesto, blistered cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. Then came the Gochujang Pork Belly over mashed potatoes with mozzarella and scallions. The pork belly was tender and flavorful, but those mashed potatoes deserve their own review. Seriously, the softest and creamiest mashed potatoes ever. Ever. Finished the savory side with the Miso Bacon Carbonara - creamy miso-Calabrian chili carbonara with crispy bacon, Parmesan, and scallions. Rich, comforting, and another dish worth coming back for. Dessert brought strawberry lychee ice cream and sesame creme brulee. Both were pleasant, although the savory dishes were definitely stars of the evening. Signed up for an event and left with a list of reasons to come back. Momonoki understood the assignment and those mashed potatoes the extra credit. Shoutout to the cool and amazing staff!

The restaurant sits right in the hotel lobby with no walls, so you hear everything--hotel guests coming and going, music playing in the lobby, the TV from the bar, and general foot traffic. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dinner, this might feel a little overstimulating. Also, our waiter (who was great, by the way) seemed to be doing the job of about three people. He was taking orders, bringing drinks and food, running payments, and even delivering room service. The poor guy was working like he owed the hotel money. On a Friday night, they could definitely use more staff. That said, the food was good, the service was kind, and I'd still come back--next time probably for brunch.

They were so fresh and delicious that they're definitely up there with my favorite starters now. The three sauces that came with them were all so good, especially paired with the fresh lime. Such a simple dish, but everything together was perfect. For my favorite entrée, it has to be the Cowboy Steak with the cheesy scalloped potatoes. This is technically a dish that can be shared between two people, but honestly, it's more than enough for two! I always get the steak medium rare, and they cook it perfectly every single time. It's juicy, tender, and beautifully pink in the middle. The scalloped potatoes are also SO good and pair perfectly with the steak. My favorite side has always been the cream of corn. If you're a fan of sweeter corn, you have to try it. It's creamy, sweet, and just really comforting. And now, we have a new favorite dessert: the sticky pudding with ice cream. The ahi tuna was one of the specials and it sounded good with the avocado mousse and tangerine slices. It was fresh, zesty, and bright. The crème brûlée' was a nice finish for our meal.
