COWBOY FRIES!!! That's really all you need to order from here. It comes with crispy fries with carne asada, shredded cheese, sour cream, and guac on top. Every time I come to Knotts, I always look forward to getting them.

    Asada fires so good!

5 stars for the food but the cleanliness of the hole in the wall at Knott's Barry Farm was missing as well as friendly service. The older female employee was not so slow and unfriendly. It appeared as if she was angst like my child says. I definitely noticed her attitude something that would never fly at Disneyland. I waited in a long line and was starving so I took the chance of getting sick when I saw the dirty place. I needed to loose a few pounds anyway so why not? The asada fries were great piled high with tender meat, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and salsa. She was slow to make them since everything was precooked you would think she would be hustling with the long line. I shared them with my son! I would order again. Check out my pics to judge for yourself on the dirty run down place.

For the omakase we get a choice of three appetizers, two pasta dishes, chefs choice entree, chefs choice risotto, and a choice of dessert for each person. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's truly enough and you get a variety of choices. This visit we went with beef tataki, salmon burrata, deep fried oysters, shrimp tempura salad, eggplant and mushrooms pasta, Uni pasta, scallops risotto, and the prime steak. Each dish is an 8/10 or better. I would gate keep this place if I could, but many who don't know that good Japanese Cuisine is not just limited to sushi. Dessert? Yep, still solid. But everything else? Let's just say the shrimp tempura salad, beef tataki, tuna tartare, beef tongue stew, and mentai spaghetti formed a perfect little symphony of average. No 'wow,' no fireworks, just... food that exists. Servers were friendly, though! Probably because they had plenty of time to chat with the only two tables in the whole dang dining room. So yeah. Same same but different? Nah. Just same same.

Service was excellent too. Shout out Tai? I'm not sure how to spell it. Cute inside with pretty decor but a little small so make sure to put your name down. We went Sunday around 7:30/8pm and there wasn't a wait for party of 4. Pork jowl is a fav of mine and their ssamjjang tastes pretty authentic but definitely had a little twist to it. It was super tender and well marbled. The crispy chicken was also juicy as it was all thigh meat. It reminded me of takoyaki in terms of taste. I wonder if it's because there's bonito flakes in it or something like takoyaki? Scallop pesto pasta was AMAZING. Scallop is my fav seafood and I never had a creamy pesto before. Udon noodles were cooked perfectly. The skirt steak really surprised me. We asked for medium rare and nice never had a skirt steak that tender. The broccolini tasted very charred and smoky (in a good way). It complimented the meat so well. Miso bacon carbonara was a solid choice and we also got that last time. Can't go wrong with it. The wings though were standard fish sauce wings. The slaw was a bit too vinegary or sour for me. Can't wait to come back the next time!

We went right at opening so there was no wait, the waiters were very nice and on top of everything. Their cocktails are on the sweeter side which I liked. Yuzuni: 7/10 it was good, sweet with yuzu flavor. The part I didn't like that it was the after taste. It was very bitter for some reason. Fries: 10/10 it was delicious. The garlic flavor was strong in a good way and the crispy is on point! Calamari: 10/10 can't really go wrong with that tbh Carbonara: 8/10 the flavor is there but it wasn't that special. The noodle was super al dente that felt a bit undercook (?). There was barely any bacon and the portion size is so small Vongole: 8/10 the flavor was very good. Lots of seafood in the bowl, but there was barely any noodle. The portion is also very small for it to cost $40 Pork Jowl: 7/10 nothing special. Not much flavor to the meat. The sauce that comes with it tastes like the cocktail sauce that I feel like did not go well with the pork. Overall I would give this place a 7/10. The portion size were very small, none of the dishes we ordered were special or stand out enough to wow us. The service was great. The atmosphere was alright.

Everything was really good. The food was solid, and the pricing felt fair for today's world--not cheap, but not outrageous either. Honestly, since it's inside a hotel, my expectations weren't sky-high, but the food pleasantly surprised me. I'd definitely come back, especially to try their brunch. The reason it's four stars instead of five comes down to the atmosphere and staffing. The restaurant sits right in the hotel lobby with no walls, so you hear everything--hotel guests coming and going, music playing in the lobby, the TV from the bar, and general foot traffic. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dinner, this might feel a little overstimulating. Also, our waiter (who was great, by the way) seemed to be doing the job of about three people. He was taking orders, bringing drinks and food, running payments, and even delivering room service. The poor guy was working like he owed the hotel money. On a Friday night, they could definitely use more staff. That said, the food was good, the service was kind, and I'd still come back--next time probably for brunch.

We went early for happy hour, I got an old fashion and my wife got "danger is my middle name", same cocktails we got last time but were war too sweet. We were disappointed in these drinks, they were much better last time. Our bartender Jose was very personable but needs to be better. The table next to us ordered a Rombauer Chardonnay, got the wrong white wine, shows he wasn't paying attention. We started with a Caesar salad, a tad over dressed, too much dressing but we really enjoyed it. I had the whole snapper which was excellent, my wife got the shrimp tacos, she didn't enjoy that, it was over spiced, too hot and not mentioned on the menu ingredients. So many dishes on the menu were spicy, a lot for the small menu. I suggest management add indicators which dishes are spicy. Some were hits, some were misses but overall a disappointing experience
