The service was horrible though... drinks and food took forever and the waitress hardly came by. The last drink took 15-20 min to arrive. We would have canceled but we never saw her so we got the bill right away. It was not busy. I got the garlic pasta and added salmon. I was expecting a filet but got chunks. I was a little disappointed but upon eating it... mannn was it good! I wana go back already! The salmon wasn't fishy or dry. It was prefect. Pasta el dente. The guac was ok. It was more like cubes of avocado and needed salt. I got the lavender spritz thing (I think that's what it was called) loved it. I got 3 haha. Food is fresh and made to order. The pizza has a nice crisp to it. You can turn up the heat with spicy marinara. Hubby had the chicken piccata which is creamy with the right amount of tang. Service was good but did get a little busy so I never got refill on water. Ambiance is loud and busy. Secret is to request the left side. CPK is an easy drop in restaurant. We stopped in on a Friday night and we were seated quickly. There were a lot of families doing the same as us and it was a very casual feel for the evening. Their pizzas are tasty and we can't stop in without ordering the classic BBQ chicken pizza. Such a staple. We opted for the cauliflower crust for both pizzas and that was pretty good. I may go back to the regular crust next time. The Mac n cheese was good. It's probably a safe bet for children but there was something missing for an adult's meal. Decided to head over to CPK for an early dinner. We arrived around happy hour and there was plenty of seating. We were greeted quickly and sat in a nice corner booth. Our serve was Josue who was pleasant and checked on us regularly. We ordered the dumplings which were on the happy hour appetizer. Sweet with just a hint of spice it was a good starter. We then split a half order of the Thai crunch salad and a Sicilian. It was plenty for 2. We also order a kids pizza which our son loved. A midscale restaurant with price that you'd expect. I ordered the chicken piccata and the sauce was good but the chicken was a bit rubbery. The pizza is pretty good but I'm still iffy if its worth the price. Prepare to spend a bit more than you would on your regular pickup pizza. First time at the Bakersfield location and was very impressed. One of the nicer locations I've been in. It was really nice inside and kept extremely clean. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter came after a few minutes and apologized for not coming sooner, which was no problem at all for us but showed us he's an accountable guy! So many great items to choose from but we went with the works pizza and the California club pizza! While we were waiting the brought us the delicious bread and oil to snack on, was delicious! Pizzas came out cooked to perfection! Lots of toppings!! I'm a pizza connoisseur and usually chain restaurant pizza is my kryptonite but this pizza is different the crust was high quality pizza dough, with some firm Bite but soft at the same time while holding up against the flop!! Well done CPK! The Cali Club was loaded and so delicious we savored every bite while we kept asking why we don't come here more often, that's gonna change now! This review is a little different than my normal ones. I am reviewing California Pizza Kitchen at Riverwalk, but it is the online ONLY portion for the food. The service and atmosphere I'm reviewing when I went to CPK and talked to the staff. The food I am reviewing is ONLY available through Door Dash. You cannot get it through CPK otherwise. Man vs. Fries. That is the name of the food I'm reviewing. You can find the restaurant in other locations, but not Bakersfield California. Friend of mine ordered us dinner. $26 burrito. Worth every penny. I reviewed a $12 burrito the other day and was disappointed about the price. I will gladly pay the 26 for this one. The only way to describe this burrito is to say it is delicious. It has a multitude of flavor and you can taste each and every ingredient. Get one if you like great tasting food. Next, the service and atmosphere. I went into CPK to ask why I could not find this on their menu. The lady I talked to was very nice. She explained about the Door Dash ordering and was very helpful. I came to California Pizza Kitchen on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was not full, only a few others eating in the afternoon. The place is pretty big, the atmosphere was a good vice to come chill. The service was good as in my server, the hostess that sat us wasn't inviting and she definitely looked like she didn't want to be there. We ordered the strawberry mango cooler which was refreshing. They served us some bread with olive oil. We also ordered the works pizza. The bread didn't taste like bread, idk it just tasted like it was premade. The pizza was soggy and didn't have any flavors, the sauce was not like pizza sauce. It was a disappointment as I been here a long time ago. The restaurant was fairly empty as it was an early dinner for us. As we were leaving, it started to fill up more. It was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The service was excellent! The food was mostly good, the pea soup was not better than I could make it home and needed lots of salt and pepper. It just did not have any depth of flavor. The food is almost always a 10 out of 10. I had the new burnt ends pizza: absolutely delicious. my mom and aunt agreed. My aunt had a chicken piccatta that was brought to the table without chicken. When we finally flagged down Guillermo he quickly remedied the error. My mom tried the new mediterranean pizza. She enjoyed it thoroughly. I shined away from it because I'm not a big fan of Kalamata olives. We shared a butter cake at the end that I found to be quite dry but both my mom and aunt enjoyed it thoroughly. Stopped in to the California pizza kitchen for lunch today and we had the pleasure of meeting MERCY our waitress. MERCY greeted us with a warm welcome, beautiful smile, and the perfect personality. We ordered the California chicken Cobb salad and it was super delicious. My wife and I weren't extremely hungry so we asked if we can split a full order and she said no problem and the order was perfect. We would come back to this California Pizza Kitchen because of the great food and PERFECT service we received by MERCY. Inside was super clean and had a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you MERCY for making our day better, our lunch delicious, and providing perfect service. Pepperoni pizza was ok. The avocado egg roll was ok and enjoyed it because it was different. Aaron our server must have been in training. A dish of fettuccine was brought over without a fork. He didn't come back and check on us soon enough and by the time he comes back and takes our refill orders and missing fork and more napkins dish had been uneaten about 10 minutes. The lunch specials are well priced for the amount of food you get. The Neapolitan was absolutely delicious, with fresh creamy cheese. The pizza was cooked to perfection soft and crispy at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh and delicate the whole lunch special was. The bbq chicken pizza was zesty and filling. The side salad of Thai crunch was a perfect combination to the bbq chicken pizza. The service was excellent, giving us time to look over the menu and checking on us without us having to look for him. Our family decided to use some Christmas gift cards we received and grab dinner at ole CPK. I literally cannot believe they're still there, but there must be a draw if they've outlasted surrounding restaurants. Parking, always atrocious. Interesting layout so be careful. They have coke products, so that's always disappointing to me! The host was kind of cold and weird. He didn't greet us and spoke very quietly. Not the personality of a host/hostess. Thankfully the bartender and manager made up for his awkwardness. We tried the spinach and artichoke dip - it was nothing to get again. It had that film on it when it sits on the warmer for a long time yikes. We also HAD to get the BBQ chicken pizza. This was the exact same as I remember it! I was so impressed. The chicken is soooo tasty and the balance of sauce is good. The bartender kept helping us, which was nice because it took us over an hour for our "quick" meal. First of all I had made an online reservation and I went to check in just for the employee to say that they didn't use online reservations that much, why have online reservations if you won't use it? second just because of that it took 45 minutes just to get to our table, many people who got there before us with the same amount of people got to sit before us, we had already checked in after we found out online reservations were not working. So here's the thing-sometimes the service is really great here and other times it's really bad. You never know what you're going to get. On the plus side, their food is always good and they have a greeting lunch special that is $12.99 and you can pick to items from pizza, to soup, to salad to pasta. I personally love the bolognese spaghetti and my husband loves the pizza. We've also gotten the Italian salad, the Thai salad and the tomato soup and all of them are great. Whenever I'm in Bakersfield for work, I always order CPK's through the Uber app. Using the Uber app is really easy. The food arrived as promised. The small Cesar salad was plain and simple. Romaine letter, slivers of Parmesan cheese and dressing. I asked them to leave the croutons off. A very delicious, simple and filling salad. I love the Thai Chicken Pizza. It's a special treat to order this pizza. The dough is soft, but a little chewy. Tons of chicken, delicious sauce, cheese, fresh bean sprouts and scallions. Cpk does a great job with this pizzas. First time we haven't been happy with our meal at CPK. I wanted a cauliflower pizza and I just wanted to add a few vegetables to it. I guess it doesn't work that way on the computer. I had to order a pizza that they have on the menu and either add or deduct items from there. So I wasn't thrilled and just said give me a cauliflower pizza with barbecue sauce, chicken and pineapples. I ended up receiving a barbecue pizza with regular crust. I did not have time for them to remake it with the cauliflower crust. My hubby got a sandwich and salad combo and said it was just OK. For an appetizer we got the avocado egg rolls. Went to CPK for a pre-Valentine's dinner with my daughter. They're having a Sweet Deal for Two special from 2/9-2/14. You can choose from two menus for either $40 or $50. Both menus have the classics we've all come to love and enjoy from CPK. I think the only deciding factor was that the $40 deal had the red velvet cake option that we wanted to try. As usual, we were seated right away. It was not packed even for Super Bowl Sunday. We jokingly asked, if the pizza was shaped like a heart since their ad displayed it. The waitress said yes it is. Naturally, my daughter was low key excited. We started off with the strawberry lemonade and the bread & olive oil. The bread was actually still warm when it got to the table so you can tell the baguette was baked fresh. For the deal, you get an appetizer to share so we opted for the chips and spinach/artichoke dip. You get a choice of 2 entrées so my daughter chose the signature BBQ chicken pizza. To her dismay, the pizza did not come shaped like a heart. I ordered the BBQ chopped salad. And for dessert, appropriately chose the red velvet cake since this is the only dessert I've not tried here before. Overall, the food was okay. CPK consistently delivers each time we go so nothing out of the ordinary this time around. We were in Bakersfield for a football game and planned on going to Yardhouse, but the wait was too long, so we pivoted here. Honestly I had gone to the one in Fresno a few times that has since closed and wasn't too fond of it but decided to give this a try. I was really impressed with this place. First of all, they seated us really quickly and our server Justin came up and took our drink order rather quickly. We ordered the chips and guacamole along with a side of salsa. The guacamole had a sweet taste to it because of the corn they added. It was unique but really refreshing and light. The salsa is also very good. As for the pizzas, they were both cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Justin our server was awesome, attentive and accessible. The interior design of this place is really cool. Normally California Pizza Kitchen is my favorite place to eat. I just ordered chicken Tequila Fettuccine it came with no Chicken. I had to get up and tell my waiter it has no chicken. The chef did not even apologize he said he was too busy and they made me a piece of chicken cut up. My food was very cold and never offered to heat it up. Th service here was terrible my table was the FIRST to be seated when the restaurant opened. When my daughter and I arrived, we were very surprised that there were hardly any clients. Two employees were leaning by the host area and we walked up to them expectantly. There were a few other people out there. We were seated at 6:54 and given menus and told our server would be with us shortly. We then waited with no beverage until 7:09...15 minutes!! When the server finally showed up, we ordered drinks, appetizer, and main course because I was afraid that we would have to wait again if we didn't. I noticed that the other patrons in our area had empty drinks and kept looking for service as well. The lack of attentiveness on the servers part was inexcusable. There appeared to be plenty of staff and the restaurant was not busy. The mocktails were spot on. I ordered one with pineapple and thyme and lemon spritzer. I don't like overly sweet drinks and this one was crisp and clean. Just perfect. My daughter ordered one with strawberries and mango, I believe? Hers was a bit sweet for my taste but she liked it. We started out with a warm spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious. The waitress also brought out fresh baked bread and oil. The oil and herbs had a really nice flavor and accented the bread perfectly. My daughter ordered a tomato basil spaghetti. She wasn't too crazy about the taste...in her words, "this tastes weird." She offered me a bite but by then I was full and declined. I ordered the cedar plank salmon. The salmon was a bit on the stronger tasting side but it was moist and flaked well. The white corn succotash was my favorite of the night, served with spinach and feta cheese crumbles on top. I usually like CPK because of their vibe and ambiance along with their menu items. This time the ambiance and service was badly lacking and food was just "ok". My drink and the succotash were delicious so I'm giving 3 stars this time.
