French fries
Mariam J.

I was so excited to finally try this spot. We ordered a hamburger, cheeseburger, a 3x3 with no cheese, and some fries. We got everything campus style so just with onions and their sauce and it was all really good! Pretty decent for the price (everything altogether was less than $20) but because the patties are so thin since they are smashburgers I suggest at least a double patty. Flavor was good and the service was quick! The french fries were also super yummy thin and crispy and delicious and you can tell theyre made from fresh potatoes not frozen. The restaurant itself was a nice place very open with some garage style doors to let a lot of air and light in. The paintings on the walls were cool too. I would definitely come back, good food for a good price!

What attracted my partner to this place was the prices. But after getting the burger, we realized this place is the definition of "you get what you pay for". I see why students may love it for a quick meal for the low low. And their location is great for that demographic. But if you're visiting and want an actual burger, this ain't it. Nice vibe with the indoor/outdoor feel. You're able to order on a kiosk to minimize interaction if that's your thing. Service was a bit slow, but maybe because it was busy. No table service. It's on a busy street so it's better to park elsewhere and walk here.

Great hangout spot for some of the cheapest eats you can find in Berkeley! The music can get loud and distracting but it's part of the vibes. Ordering was easy with their self-ordering kiosk. Food came out quick. The food itself left me very conflicted though. Honestly this place felt almost like an In-N-Out clone but with smashburgers. Honestly, In-N-Out is extremely hard to beat so not going to ding Campus Burgers for that. However, they missed on the smashburger front too because the patties don't look anything like a smashburger patty. Feeling a little identity crisis here but the price is HARD to beat.

You can't beat the price and it wasn't that bad of a burger~ from what I hear. I don't eat burgers however I did have campus fries without the patty and it was decent; a little too much aïoli but it's cheap and it's kind of like junkie snack food. How can you really complain?? I brought my husband and Son the jalapeño triple and a quad Smashburger and they both enjoyed it The prices are comparable to In-N-Out as well as taste, but I do give them two snaps for the fact that they put grilled onions on all their burgers, which is awesome.

Nice clean spot in Berkeley appealing to students looking for a good deal. It's exactly as advertised - cheap burgers, no frills, gets the job done. The fries are served in a cup so it's easy to carry, and the milkshake was okay. Strangely enough, the water from the soda machine was very crisp (a good thing). Service was kind of a wait, and the place wasn't full. The tables were kept clean and there was a bathroom. Condiments were available on the side of the counter. Overall, no complaints, but also nothing too crazy to report. Simply put - cheap burgers that fulfill its duty of being burgers. Didn't taste super cheap, and got the job done.

The service staff were very friendly and quick. There weren't many others in the restaurant, and the food came out quickly. The tables were clean, the music was pumping (maybe a touch loud, but we can have our conversations elsewhere). What really drew me in were the prices. $3 cheese burgers and $4 fries are a good deal! Overall, the food was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The burger was mostly bun, even considering the price, and the fries lacked flavor. I know some places put little or no salt or seasoning on fries and have packets to add your own. That's not the case here.

I had accidentally messed up my own order but thanks to the wonderful staff everything was perfect after my request. Shout out to the chef Randal Paramo! and the cashier Elizabeth Vargas who were both super friendly and the best of staff !

Campus Burgers opened recently where Champion's Curry was on Channing Way. (The posted address on Telegraph is wrong). New decor & probably seating too. 1 table outside, single seats next to wall & window. Many tables in the center. Loud Afro Hip Hop music blaring in background. Ordered at counter, pd. Got order 12 minutes later. Other orders after me got orders lst. Unknown if ordering on kiosk and/or online gets faster service. Offerings: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fresh cut french fries, drinks.. Bites: hamburger (1.99) single 2oz. Smashed burger. -slight mayo smear. No onions nor other veggies. -self serviced mustard, ketchup packet. -burger patty slightly juicy, salty. 3.5 stars: only burger is worthy. Other items overpriced. Quantity: skimpy, reasonable for price. Quality: unknown-YMMV.

Quick and cheap? Absolutely - 5 stars Services- 5 stars Quality - 3.5 stars Campus Proximity - 4 stars Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's explain these stars. I happened to walk by Campus Burgers in the morning and wanted to check it out for lunch once I realized they served grilled cheese sandwiches. Looked over their website and was surprised at how cheap everything was. $2.99 for a cheeseburger. $1.99 for a grilled cheese. O instead of ordering ahead and picking up since I was getting fries, I walked over and put in my order. I decided on the #2 (cheeseburger, fries and a fountain drink). I added on my grilled cheese and the total came out to $13.46 (including tax and the Berkeley mandated $0.25 disposable cup fee). I was handed my receipt with my order number and my cup for the fountain drink. I filled my cup with ice and root beer and then sat down to wait for my food. Took a sip of the root beer and it was on the flat side which was disappointing. Waited maybe 7 minutes and then my food came out. The fries weren't hot and crisp like others mentioned in their reviews but they were good. Not highly salted which I appreciated but definitely reminded me of in n out fries but in a cup. The cheeseburger is no frills. Meat patty, onions and a slice of cheese. At first look it seemed like a larger McDonald's cheeseburger minus McDonald's diced onions and ketchup. Don't expect it to fill you up. Now the highlight for me was the grilled cheese. Bread and cheese, that's it and that's how I like it so I didn't mind at all. Super cheesy goodness on nicely toasted bread. Heck yeah! I definitely will be back for the grilled cheese but probably would still head to Mel's or Super Duper if I'm in the mood for a burger. For the price point though and proximity to the south side of campus, definitely high stars!!

my partner and i came to check out these super affordable burgers. the concept is brilliant and conveniently located near the university. a single burger is $1.99! wild! we both got double cheeseburgers, and i also got the campus fries which had one patty, cheese, grilled onions and the chipotle mayo on top of fries. the fries are good in general, but could stand to have a bit more salt. the burger itself was very straightforward and simple. absolutely no frills. the patty had an interesting taste to it, not in a bad way. just different. the food came out relatively fast and the spot was busy on a sunny sunday afternoon. it's a good value for the price & i'll def check it out again on a trip out to berkeley.

Campus Burgers is characterized by fast service, friendly staff, and a decent price to quality food ratio. I ordered the campus fries and cheeseburger, priced at $5.99 and $2.99, respectively. My food was out in about 3 minutes, both items hot off the line. The only gripe I have is that the dining room/patio area wasn't the cleanest, leading me to clean off my own table. In terms of the food, it was nothing short of good! The Campus Fries were salted evenly throughout, with it not being overbearing. It was served with a patty on top and a drizzle of their in-house sauce. The fries were hot and still crispy, which came as a pleasant surprise! The burger buns were extremely pillowy and reminded me of a high school cafeteria burger, in all the best ways. It was served with one slice of cheese and a bit of their in-house sauce. It was cooked like any other smashburger, with a bit of a crispy outer edge and soft inside. Campus burger hits all of the marks for a college town staple -- fast service, cheap prices, and feel-good food, making it a place I'll definitely be visiting again.

I was here with my girlfriend and her cousins late at night. We were next door at Purple Cow. We got hungry and made the decision to try Campus Burgers. It gave me In N Out vibes but in a cheaper way. Honestly prices were phenomenal. Gives you a taste what the old life of cheaper meal prices were like. I got the cheeseburger and campus fries. Both were delicious, I ended up with another order of campus fries on the go. The inside seating was pretty cool with a working garage door that can advertise the restaurant with the smell of the delicious burger and fries being cooked. The fries were not soggy or not burnt. It was crispy just right. The campus sauce was a great add on. I will definitely come back and try out their milkshakes one night. The flavors are vanilla, chocolate, or Neapolitan. Had a good meal :)

Went during winter break and there was no one there. It was the most delicious cheesy burger. I live for a cheesy, melty burger. Simple, few modifications, crazy cheap. I fed a family of 4 (small kids) for $27 after tax and tip. Super clean. Friendly server. Fast & easy. Love that they have burger boxes for bigger parties and groups. Limited seating. Will be back!

The only thinking that made it spicy was the homemade spicy mayo, so it wasn't that spicy. I noticed on the menu they have sauces, like Nashville and buffalo. I think next time I'll try one of those sauces to kick up the heat. The cheese I add was not needed, I should have left off. The Fries (4 stars) were coated with potato flour and seasoning, which made a great crispy crust, served hot. Mac N' Cheese (4 Stars $6.49) I ordered the small 8oz, it was corkscrew pasta covered with a cheese sauce that was awesome with some Cajun spices, a like dirt Mac and some extra cheese on top. The burger was fresh and flavorful--you can taste the quality in every bite. The onion rings were on point too: crispy, not greasy, perfectly cooked. Dipping them into the habanero mayo gave it just the right kick. Definitely recommend that combo. The staff was friendly and kept things cool even though there were only two or three people running the place. The spot itself is small, just a few tables and chairs, with a little bit of Latin music playing in the background, which gave it a nice touch. When I first got there, it wasn't too busy, but by the time I finished, it was filling up. Walked around the block to stretch out, came back 15 minutes later, and the place was packed. What's also impressive is that their fried chicken sandwich was voted one of Yelp's Top 50 Fried Chicken Sandwiches in California, ranking #33 in the state. That's what I'm definitely trying next time. Final verdict: Great burger, great onion rings, friendly service, and a spot worth checking out if you're around University Ave in Berkeley. Two thumbs up from me.

I love that you can choose the doneness of the patty. I went with medium, and it came out perfectly cooked. It is a very large burger, though, so be prepared for it to get a little messy. There is a restroom where you can wash your hands, but it requires a key, so bringing hand sanitizer or wet wipes may be helpful. What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

If you plan to BART in, the closest stop is Downtown Berkeley. There's also plenty of garage parking nearby.

The food we ate at 310 Eatery really hit the spot. It's an Asian fusion restaurant that has an…read moreextensive menu! Everything we ordered was flavorful and the ingredients were so fresh. The owner and staff members were so personable. They made sure we were taken cared of. You just don't get that level of customer service very often! It's a casual space with tons of seating. My absolute fav part of the meal was the dessert. WOW. The peach and strawberry cobbler was so fresh. You can even smell the butter before taking a bite. The vanilla ice cream brought everything together. A bit pricey, but definitely worth the splurge!

Beware of the up charges!…read more My boyfriend is vegan, so he asked for vegan options, and the server suggested the Hurry Curry swapped out with impossible meat and a pretzel bun instead of brioche. He also asked if he "wanted onion," as well as asked our friend the same, "would you like onion and cheese?" However, the server neglected to mention that every suggestion he made was an extra charge of $3-4. The burger that started out as $17 ended up costing $27 at the end! It was odd. The check was not itemized when it first came, and he had to ask specifically for an itemized receipt to explain the up charge. It's disappointing! The communication could definitely be better.
