Came to Cane Rosso for brunch on Saturday and was seated quickly by hostess. Our server came by our table of 4 and said it would be a second and he would bring us waters, it took 15 minutes to get the waters. We decided to try this place for dinner tonight. Parking was easy in the pay by phone lot directly behind the restaurant. We had no reservation, but it wasn't too busy on a Monday night. We were able to be seated right away. The hostess gave us the option of sitting at a table or at the pizza bar, so we decided to sit at the bar. It is a really interesting experience sitting at the bar, because you get to see the pizzas tossed, prepared, and thrown into the wood fire oven. We started with the Jimmy Johnson Dip, which was basically a small pizza with spinach dip as the topping. It was delicious! We followed it up with the Paulie Gee pizza. It was spicy and perfectly cooked. We loved it! The restaurant has a good vibe, and all of the staff were super friendly. This is one restaurant that definitely lives up to the hype! Saturday was my first time seeing this place, as well as visiting. It was a friends birthday and he had heard they had $2 mimosas. You cannot beat that, especially in Dallas. We came late as we weren't that hungry, but upon entering the smell of pizza kinda of made us reconsider. We ended up ordering the honey bastard just based off of what our friends had told us. I kid you not, we ordered it and that pizza was out in less than 5-10mins. Why? Because it goes in their oven which is about 900 degrees and finishes in NINETY SECONDS. Whaaaat? There's no long cook time, wait, nothing, which was impressive to say the least. We dug right in, and although the crust of the pizza looks thick, it was actually really thin. Meaning you could essentially eat more, which was a plus in my book, as I like thinner crusts but I think this one is referred to as Neapolitan pizza. They also do not have your average pizza sauce on the pizza, which deff. made for a difference experience. What I enjoyed the most was the customer service. One of the girls in our party had added a couple extra things on her pizza, which caused it to be soggy. They asked her how she liked it, she stated it was ok and left it at that. The waiteress nicely offered multiple times to redo it for her, with no additional charge. She still kindly declined. Seconds later, what appeared to be the manager came and he too offered to redo the pizza, and they were both really genuine about it which was awesome. Needless to say, the pizza was redone and the toppings that made it soggy were put on the side. Overall, quick & tasty pizza in a great location, with phenomenal customer service. read more

However to really get to enjoy multiple items the price tag can really blow up fast! Check out happy hour for a better price range. I've heard such great things about Cane Rosso, so I was really excited to try it. When we arrived, we were seated quickly and a server came up. When we inquired about the seasonal beers on tap, he had no idea. Then he explained that he was in training and would have to ask someone else. Anytime I have been to a restaurant that has a new server, they are always shadowed by an experienced server until they are "ready." This guy, was not ready. We split a salad which was a great size for 2-3 people to share. I liked the caesar salad. As someone who does not eat pork, there are not many options here for pizza. We opted for a pizza with half meat, half without. The pizza comes out quickly, but its probably because it isn't fully cooked. I guess that is what they are known for, but I didn't realize that the undercrust is seriously undercooked, but the edge crust is perfectly crispy. I guess I was underwhelmed. Nothing less than excellent. I knew it would be a game changer for then to open a location in Lake Highlands, but to experiance this newly established location was phenomenal. I knew it was going to be busy when I went in. Despite the crows, the hostess opened the door, greeting me with a big smile and excited welcome. I was informed of a wait time, but did not really care because I could see how busy they were. The hostess kept me updates and got me to a table in no time. She even informed me of open table, where I can mwke a reservation eaelier on if I knew I was planning to come in. That way we can both plan accordingly within the chaos of popularity. Once I got to the table my server immediately came over, took my drink order and answered anu questions I had. She wasn't over bearing, but made sure i always had a full beverage and cleared dishes. She even recognized that I was full a brought to go boxes without me asking. Not to mention the food is of good portion and great taste. I have no complaints. The complaints i see tend to follow typical trends of people who do not understand how the food industry works. As someone who has worked in many aspects of customer service, to include the food industry, I think they are doing absolutely wonderful and only more good things are to come! Cane Rosso is a solid option for pizza. The thin crust is pretty good, crispy at the edges but pretty flimsy in the middle, so toppings/cheese slide off easily. But everything tastes great! There's a lot of meat on the menu, but most of that is easy to modify. The Lincoln Hawk is fantastic, and the cheesy garlic bread is a great start. Crispy brussel sprouts are good, but I'd recommend mixing it all together to really get the flavor. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Cane Rosso has some great pasta dishes. Their bolognese is great. If you haven't tried the Brussels sprouts appetizer, I would highly recommend. The pizza is also great and the ingredients seem fresh. My friend had the Alfredo and it was very creamy but with a lot of flavor. We went during lunch hour and waited quite a bit for our waitress to take our drink order. One of my friends came a few minutes later and the waitress never came to ask for his drink. We had to flag her down after waiting past 5 minutes. Our food took a LONG time to come out. What was supposed to be a 45 minute lunch ended up being more than an hour because of all of the waiting. The service and desserts make me Wang to give this place a 5-star rating. The pizza (which is the entire point of the restaurant) makes me want to give them 1.5 stars. So I will call it a wash and provide a 3. There's why: Their pizza is supposed to be Neapolitan style which means thin, crispy crust. Their pizzas are cooked in a 900 degree fire pit for flavor and authenticity. This is wonderful in theory, but the bottom of the crust is completely soggy. So soggy, it ruined the pizza. Which is a shame because I had the Ella which has spicy pepperoni. The sauce and strips of long spicy pepperoni were amazing but my pizza was almost inedible cause of the limp, soggy, watery crust. I'm wondering if I would be better ordering a pizza to go and then going home and cooking it longer to get a crispier crust? My friend has a pizza with caramelized bacon that was delicious sans the soggy crust. Pizza is all about crust so if you're a crust snob I want to fully disclose you may be disappointed. Desserts were straight from heaven. My lunch companions and I shared the tiramisu, smores calzone, and doughnuts. I recommend all 3. In order. And don't wimp out. The milk chocolate was freshly melted and amazing. The doughnuts were crispy but soft. Seems like they get the bread consistency better with desserts than the pizza.
