I've been to Frida Cantina several times in the last week. The first time was just for drinks and to watch the Dodgers game on the large screen TVs. The drink menu has a lot of interesting options and the bartender is skilled at making craft cocktails to order. They also have a happy hour until 6pm on weekdays, with quite a few food and drink options. We loved the shrimp ceviche and the chicken enchiladas which are significantly discounted. Also, the guacamole is fresh and delicious. It's a very comfortable yet upscale restaurant / bar to go to with a group or for solo dining.

My Beverly Hills friend chose Cantina Frida as the place to meet up again after a long time . She couldn't have picked a better spot. I had not visited before. We both loved everything about it. Our lunch started with the nachos with pico de gallo (generously served). We both chose for our main dish the pork pastor quesadillas. They were fabulous -- hearty but not heavy, filled with tender pork and tasty, substantial cheeses. The serving of three in the order was more than enough for us. But we couldn't pass up splitting the pastel de tres leches for dessert -- luscious! All of this was made even nicer by our wonderful servers, who were patient beyond belief in waiting for us to order, to finish, to decide on dessert. They both said "no worries, you haven't seen each other in six years, take your time." I don't know their names -- this was about noon- 2 p.m. on November 5. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is beautifully appointed, and has a kind of post-modern look.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]and will be just right for any kind of visit, lunch or dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next time I want to try the bar!

Surprised that I never have came to Cantina Frida in Beverly Hills before. When we came, it was packed and luckily we were able to get a table. Though I came her for a meeting, it was too loud to have a conversation. The ambiance was inviting, decor was elegant and service was impeccable. Guacamole- was made on the spot with the freshest ingredients. Avocado was creamy, and just the right amount of lime and spices. Ceviche Cantina- the shrimp was cooked, it was a beautiful presentation and vibrant. The flavors were also incredible. Carne Asada- the beef was well seasoned, and perfectly wrapped I fresh tortilla. Gobernador Taco- The melted cheese was a standout on top of the fresh shrimp. It had a delicate smokey flavor that was very tasteful. I highly recommend Cantina Frida if you are looking for a fine dining Mexican food experience.

Valeria and Jonathan were absolutely the best! They waited on us and were so kind and attentive. The place itself was packed. I'd recommend to call before going as their was a private event and it took some time to get seated. Due to holidays, I anticipate it will only get busier with private parties. The music was a vibe. They were playing Rufus Du Sol and Fisher. After my Maracuya cocktail, nachos, and table side guacamole, I swear I was a kid at Disneyland. Easy parking next door with free city parking. Also Beverly Canon Garden is so beautifully decorated for the holidays that stopping by for dinner and drinks here and walking thru the courtyard was an absolute vibe.

Nice spot to hang out with friend. Staff members were amazing. I was there on a Wednesday night so it wasn't that busy. Next time I'm coming on a weekend.

Upscale Mexican food spot in Beverly Hills. There's a public parking lot next door. Very open space and cute with a bar and TVs which had sports playing which was good. Great service and tasty food. Queso Fundido with chorizo - yum Aquachile - nice kick! Molcajete - delish Dessert was this chocolate layer parfait kinda thing which was sooo good! The only thing that was semi annoying was the constant camera flashing from their in-house camera lady taking photos all night at tables. Travel_lifestyle_chow

came here for a company happy hour and the food was great! my favorite items were the shrimp taco and the chicken nachos. highly recommend! I wish the queso fundido had a burner or something to keep it warm the service was quick and even though we had a large party, our server was on top of it. loved the half outdoor vibe that we reserved, it was perfect! the only thing I didn't love were the prices - I think a lot of the dishes were way too pricey for the amount of food. however, they were delicious!

Super upscale dining experience at the heart of Beverly Hills. Very welcoming staff and environment. I had the Enchiladas Trio and my wife hd the Healthy Bowl and we were very pleased with our meal. The nacho platter was also very delicious. We also both had a margarita which was perfectly made and one of the best Ive ever had. Highly recommend this place if looking for an exquisite Mexican food dining experience.

This place is amazing! The staff is always nice and welcoming. The vibe and food here is amazing. Been back here like 4 times and it's over a 1 hr 45 mins drive for us from our home. So worth it :)

Sad to say, this place has gone downhill. Unsure if it's a change of management or a change in the kitchen. We ordered the Burrito California Wet and the mix fajitas with beef and chicken. The steak in the Burrito was burnt to a crisp and very limited. The red sauce had no flavor. Would highly recommend against ordering this item. The chicken on the fajitas was extremely overcooked and dry. Steak part of the fajitas had no flavor and was definitely not Prime. Margaritas were still on point and the staff is always friendly and makes us feel valued when saying "welcome back". I work in hospitality and know that restaurants are getting squeezed these days, making profit hard to come by. Also don't mind paying a bit more to help support local business. With that said, struggle with the quality vs. price that we paid for today's experience.

Food was stupendous. Would have received a 5 just for the food alone. The reason for the 3 stars is for the service. A friend and I were walk-ins last Tuesday (March 5). It wasn't busy, in fact, the wait staff were off to the side talking amongst themselves to each other which later added to the frustration. We were in the area to attend the Jean-Michel Basquiat showcase exhibit at the Gagosian. The hostess put us in a small booth. (Which wouldn't have been a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that my dinner companion is 6'3, and me being 5'8. Our knees were touching.) The host continued to seat others in the larger tables. (We understood that we were walk-ins but the hostess continued to seat other 2-tops into bigger 4 top tables after us). Our server never approached us and instead attended a table next to us and another walk in. (I know it was a walk in because we had small talk when we were walking in to the restaurant with the other table who was seated in a bigger table than us). We watched as the other table sat after us was given water, had a server approach, them, and was even given an appetitezer. During this entire time we weren't asked if we wanted a drink, appetizer, or entree. I was quietly getting irritated with the lack of any service and during this long period I let my other party know that we should just get something small and maybe eat an entree and get a drink at another restaurant after the JMB show. (I had originally wanted to try the skirt steak and the special margarita). I finally was able to flag the server down who let us know she would be right back. We hungrily waited. When she finally came to our table, which was by the kitchen and close to the servers station, she asked us what we wanted to order. We ordered 2 glasses of water, a coke, the ceviche mixto, and the carnitas. The server seemed annoyed we didn't order cocktails because she repeated "Is that all for drinks?" after telling her "no thankyou" after she already asked us if we wanted a cocktail. The food runners were amazing, in fact the ceviche arrived before our drinks (water and coke). When the ceviche arrived we noticed it only came with four chips (2 each), so we ordered more with the server. The additional order of chips never came until we asked the food runner for chips, after asking the server twice. The chips came near the end of our meal after receiving our entree. The food runners were on point! Refilling our waters, coming out with the food in a timely manner. It was frustrating to see the server pay so much attention to the older couple sitting across from us and the other walk-in table that we had light conversations with earlier. I'm not sure if we were given less attention because we were younger, or that I was wearing "arty" jeans. We just weren't given the time of day. Let's move on from the service. (I'm still contemplating making a tiktok on the experience). The food was spectacular!!! The ceviche wasn't overloaded with too many Ingredients. The recipe is exactly what you expect of a good ceviche. Highly recommend as an appetizer! The actual ceviche serving proportions are extremely generous. (Just order some more tortilla chips on the side when you make the order). The carnitas melted in your mouth. It was slow cooked to perfection. The pork shoulder meat was moist, just the right amount of fattiness and extremely tender with just the right amount of spices. Will go back for this dish alone. We ended up ordering some flour tortillas to enjoy this shared entree that we turned into an appetizer. If we were given the time of day would have definitely ordered more items. Will come back but will be making a reservation in hopes of a better experience.

The ambiance is great at this upscale Mexican restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. We walked in on a Sunday evening without a reservation and were promptly seated. They provided water and took our orders in a timely manner. The queso fundido was excellent -- fresh baked and bubbly with good seasoning and great tortillas to accompany it. I liked my enchiladas fine - they weren't the best I've had but solid. The churros were stuffed with cream and had a good caramel dipping sauce. Service was pretty decent but they did prematurely offer a dessert menu while we were still eating and took a second to refill our water pitcher. Having Sunday football on the many TV screens was a fun touch, but didn't take away from the nice atmosphere.

Are there new owners? If so is the food the same quality under the new owners?

I'm not sure who owns the restaurant or runs it. But the food is delicious and the service is amazing and the prices seemed very reasonable to me.

Does this place have bottomless mimosas and until what time?

I saw your question and happen to know for a fact that there are no bottomless mimosas.

Do you have to be 21 to eat here or at least 21 to get in? I want to eat here but it says cantina so I'm not sure...

It's a restaurant so no you do not have to be over 21 to eat here. There are plenty of families with children here!

I emailed the bar to make a reservation since the online system was down, and they emailed back immediately to confirm -- and even said they would surprise my mom with an extra birthday cake! Now all I had to do was wait 3 weeks until her visit so the experience could finally happen. The day arrived and I got my mom to Maybourne Bar with her none the wiser. From the moment we stepped through the door, the experience was a 1 million out of 10. Every course is unbelievable. This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. We ended up at the Maybourne Bar in the Maybourne hotel, a solid B+ lobby bar that I'd visit again under similar circumstances. The space was attractive but the vibe was strange, if not uncomfortable. Just weirdly bright lighting and a different crowd from the usual L.A. bar scene (hotel, Beverly Hills). It was pretty quiet at 10:00 on a Saturday night, and we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was fast and polite. We ordered a Midas Touch and a Big in Japan, both decent cocktails that cost a full $30 apiece. The Midas Touch was a colorful spicy margarita with El Tesoro Maybourne Edition Reposado, Empirical Ayuuk, Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, saffron, lemon, and honey. Big in Japan was a Gold Rush variation with Hibiki Harmony, sudachi honey, lemon, sansho pepper, and yuzu bitters. There are better, more interesting cocktail bars all over L.A., but I'd recommend the Maybourne Bar if you're staying at the hotel or otherwise looking for an upscale bar in downtown Beverly Hills. You can get food, too, though most of it seems to involve caviar.

When I ordered a Twist cocktail and asked if it could be made with tequila instead, our server said he would check with the bartender. What was frustrating is that he never mentioned happy hour had ended while we were waiting for him to come back. We were then charged $10 for the original drink we never received, and the replacement drink was charged at full price because happy hour had expired. That didn't feel fair since the delay was entirely on the server's end. To make matters worse, a 20% service charge was already added to the bill, yet the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Between the long wait, poor communication, and incorrect charges, the experience didn't match the reputation or prices of this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it based on the service alone. We'll have to come back next time to try more. They also have food but we didn't have time to try any dishes this time.

Please stop it with the gimmicky flare, smoke and song and focus on making better tasting drinks. I ordered a Painkiller and it was stuffed with charred cinnamon sticks and a lime on fire that made my drink taste awful. They staff were nice enough to comp my drink, but to be honest the drinks are never good or balanced. There are much better tiki bars in LA, and I recommend you go elsewhere for a really good cocktail.

MATU WOW. This lil…read morejoint had been on my radar for a while..at least 2 or 3 years. Finally crossed it off the list, and it was quite the joyous and memorable dining experience. I really gotta respect their dedication to red meat and the holy art of cooking a damn good steak. This place is essentially what I'm looking for in a restaurant. Basically hits on all cylinders and checks off all the critical boxes. I don't want to sound all dramatic and such, but I'm dying to go back and try all the other items I didn't have, as well as check out the bar experience. I spoke to some locals outside before they opened, and they weren't just lovely -- they also painted a pretty picture of what the overall vibe is here. It's clear a lot of people in the Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills area love coming here very frequently. Our server, who I assumed is named Nolan because that's what's shown on the receipt, was very accommodating, kind, and easy to talk to. I think he did a fantastic job dealing with my difficult, picky gf. Haha. I can't say anything was less than stellar. The croquettes in that celery purée stuff were phenomenal. Garlic bread was seasoned and baked to perfection. The bone broth sipper was nourishing af. French fries were perhaps the best I've had in years. Broccolini was fresh, high quality, and complimented the steak very well. I'm bummed we only got to try just the ribeye when it came to the cuts, but my gf did not want to order anything under medium or medium rare that night, so that was a bummer. It's her loss! The panna cotta was the creamiest sweet treat in all of LaLa Land. This is a great place, and it's a top-tier steakhouse. SoCal sometimes lacks places of this caliber that NY, Chicago, and SF / Napa have, but this place is a very close contender to some of the top cream-of-the-crop, steak-centered restaurants in the country. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Unfortunately, our initial table was extremely close to a very loud neighboring party, making conversation difficult. To the restaurant's credit, the staff accommodated our request to move, and the new table significantly improved the experience. The food was excellent. We ordered the Dinner for Two, and every component was well executed and enjoyable. The quality of the beef was evident, and it was clear why MATŪ has built such a strong reputation. The cocktails were also well made. Where the experience began to unravel was the service. Wine service took roughly 20 minutes, dessert was noticeably delayed, and our server seemed to disappear for extended periods throughout the evening. The most frustrating part came at the end of the meal when it took more than 25 minutes to receive the check. When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. I left impressed by the meal but disappointed by the overall dining experience, and I'm not sure I would return.
