First time going to happy hour today. The restaurant was empty at 4 pm. We were immediately seated & got a drink order in. No bartender there yet so our waitress made the drinks & they were nothing special. The tempura here is always delicious. The orange chicken was good as well. The crispy spicy chicken was okay. I guess I didn't realize it comes bone dry, no sauce at all. That's my fault for not asking. I'd return for happy hour again simply for that tempura & maybe try another drink, hopefully when the bartender is there. Maybe they don't have a regular bartender?

Great experience. The decor was fitting of its style. The food portions were more than ample. Service was timely and pricing on point. The food was delicious and we found the bathrooms clean with a time chart on the door. The only area of concern: leftover food & fortune cookies beneath two tables. In their defense, it was a packed house and possibly the servers simply didn't have the time to clean beneath the tables before seating us. We ordered an appetizer Fried Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Vegetable fried Rice and Orange Chicken. * Beautiful Chandelier

So we had been to this place a few years ago and it was a small cute place with great food. When we went back we found the place explained and looks very beautiful. Unfortunately our food had some hit and misses. The hot and sour soup was extremely salty. The pot stickers came loaded with seasme seeds which wasn't listed on the menu. We asked for a veggy plate and got a chow mein with a few veggies. The fried rice was good. The Kung po chicken had good flavor but the pieces of chicken were very fatty. The best thing was the Mongolian beef which was well cooked, tender and had a lot of flavor. Staff was friendly. Dinner almost ruined by the earthquake but staff kept on moving. This place can accommodate a large group as there were several large parties. Overall food was decent and we would come back in a large group.

Not best quality. Got food poisoning from easting here. Should have checked the ratings.

Sometimes the food is great and sometimes it is just ok. Not sure if it is different chefs in the kitchen or what but it's hit or miss.

Food was good $31 for lunch is ridiculous. That was for the lunch, "special" and an appetizer of 6 Rangoon.

I've always had good food from here over the years. Enjoy their lunch specials. Service has been good. Get take out from time to time too.

Another great restaurant find in the Coachella Valley, this time in Palm Desert. We discovered…read moreOceana Restaurant on the Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week website -- the Pulpo Chicharrones caught our eye -- so we decided to check it out. Thank goodness we did. Our group started out with the above mentioned Pulpo Chicharrones. Crispy Octopus bites served with fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, and flour tortilla chips. The octopus had a charred crispy exterior that gave way to a buttery-tender interior. None of the rubbery texture that so often turns people off. For entrees, we selected the Whole Fried Huachinango (Red Snapper), 7 Oceanas (think "Spanish Chioppino"), and Pan Seared Halibut which was the special of the day. The halibut special featured a very generous pan seared filet on a bed of white wine risotto with a sesame seed veloute and asparagus. The 7 Oceanas consisted of perfectly cooked octopus, white fish, clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and scallop in a rich broth with tomato, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, and guajillo peppers. Served with housemade telera bread sticks to sop up the amazing broth. The snapper was deep fried to perfection leaving the skin super crispy and fleah moist and flaky. Drizzled with an adobo sauce and served with grilled sliced lemons, chayote squash and baby potatoes. Our only complaint was the snapper was not true red snapper as advertised, but rather porgy (we think). Red snapper is one of the most substituted fish and very few people in the world could tell them apart. My partner Ernie is a connoisseur, and he can. The dish was still excellent, we just wish it wasn't advertised as Huachinango. This hidden gem delivered fresh seafood, tasty cocktails with a nod to tequila and mezcal drinks crafted by owner Marco Castellanos, and friendly attentive service from Gina.
