    My 2025 Mazda !
    Jocelyn S.

The general manager Jon was so helpful with the process of seeking out a new vehicle . Fernando was so helpful and thorough when it came back to the buy back process and Jesus found me the most perfect Mazda within my budget! One happy car buyer !

My recent experience with Capitol Ford began last week when we test drove a used Ford, the car was not ready to be driven as it has been in past experiences with test driving a vehicle. This a pink flag, not quite red yet. Then when we went inside to consider our options, Angelo was going to run my credit with asking and we only knew when my husband asked what he was doing, so my husband immediately said no. Then I found a a car I wanted to purchase and was in touch with Angelo again to come in on Sunday after he told me to come see the car. When we arrived, a completely different salesmen had to tell Angelo that the car was not even on the lot, but that it had been given out as a loaner and had been gone for 4 days, Angelo had no clue. This was extremely disappointing and after reading other reviews, it seems this has been the same experience for many people, it's just BAD BUSINESS. In the mean time sales managers from the dealership had been keeping me updated by texting me, first asking how they can get my business on the Ford Explorer I looked at( didn't look at an Explorer), then corrected to the car I was going to see, then later that day I get another text saying "Hi Peggy....were gonna get the car back tonight" (my name is not Peggy). I let them know they weren't speaking to Peggy, they had a long day. These things may seem insignificant to some but I've been a part of others car buying processes and these are not professional interactions and are somewhat off putting. But I still wanted to buy this used vehicle so I put it out of my mind, hoping for better. Hopes be damned. They got the car back in a day later, washed it and I arranged to come see it . I went fully prepared to buy the car based on the "out the door" price I discussed with Angelo and including a slightly lowered price which he "talked with his boss" about. When we sat down to sign papers we were presented with a completely different price, that they weren't willing to move on even with us showing the the prices that Angelo said he talked with his boss about. When the manager came over he put a paper in front of us in a very matter of fact way that showed other fees (ok, fine) and a fee NOT listed on their website or ever mentioned face to face, a "Dealer Installed equipment Fee" for $795. They couldn't even tell us what they fee was or what they installed on the USED car I was going to buy. It's a vague fee that they said is on every car. It was clear they were not going to work with us even though the price miscommunication was on their end and was due to unprofessional practices and lack of transparency. The photo attached is from their DGDG site that lists other fees that aren't added, no where does it say a possible Dealer Installed equipment fee of almost $800 (not chump change). All in all, I do not plan to do business with Capitol Ford and suggest you don't waste your time either..

I'm always honest and tell it how it is. I wait a few months to see how things go post purchase, to gauge the total experience. Shopped around regionally for a new F150 to replace my Lemoned 2023 Ram 2500. To say I wasn't thrilled to be shopping again is an understatement. I knew the price I wanted to be at, as well as how low other dealers were going on similarly optioned models. Contacted the dealer and started to negotiate via text with Dale (great communication) to see if this dealer would be worth my time. I ended up driving an hour to the dealer a few days earlier than planned and started the process with Edgar (very nice, professional, and a good sense of humor). I recommend everyone start their process with him. MVP! The only part that rubbed me wrong (hence 4 star) was the demeanor and a few things said by another employee while negotiating. That was reflected in my after purchase survey and rectified by their stud of a Sales VP Scott! (I still owe you that tequila). 4 months and 10k miles later I'm mostly satisfied with my purchase. I had 1 "break down" around 3k miles due to software issues (no fault of the dealer) that resulted in a tow and 5 days out of service. Normally I'd understand new cars having quirks, but after my 2023 Cummins needed a new motor at 6,000 miles it definitely struck a nerve. That said, Dale, Edgar, and especially Scott are class acts. When the time comes for another vehicle for myself or co-workers, CapitolFord or another DGDG dealer will be our first stop.

Great experience all around! My husband and I came to this Ford dealership after visiting two others beforehand. We were on the hunt for a specific truck -- a hybrid Ford Maverick -- but the previous dealerships didn't have it and kept trying to push other models. As soon as we arrived here, we were greeted and helped by Dale, who was extremely knowledgeable and clearly knew what he was talking about. We mentioned we were just looking and planned to come back later once we decided, but that didn't change his level of customer service. He still gave us the opportunity to test drive, view different color options in person, and never once made us feel pressured. By the end of our visit, we were so impressed with his professionalism that we decided to make the purchase that same day. The whole process was smooth and easy -- the staff was friendly, personable, and even offered drinks while we waited. We highly recommend this dealership for your next Ford purchase. Thank you, Dale, for making our experience so enjoyable!

Wanted to update our review to give Josh and the crew a big shoutout for a wonderful experience helping us get the specific car we wanted. Josh even drove 6h round trip same day to make sure we got one of only 2 in NorCal. Thanks Josh and team!

I just traded my F-150 for a Maverick at Capitol Ford. It only made sense to do this if the deal was good and the trade-in value was decent, and I'm very happy to have been able to make it work - they beat the trade-in value I got from every other quote! And I got many... Andrew and Gustavo were great to work with, no nonsense, no shenanigans - straight to the numbers and a fair deal all around. Thank you Capitol Ford, very happy with my new Maverick!

We negotiated and agreed on a price and made the deal. I had a unique situation; I live in Stockton and had no way to get the car home that day. He allowed me to keep it on the lot until the next morning. Shane and his team are not stereotypical sleaze bag used car salesmen. Customer service and a welcoming atmosphere are a priority at The Car Store San Jose. They've been in business since '77 for a reason. During the evaluation, they told me they had to deduct $1,000 from the offer because the car was wrapped and they needed to remove the wrap before reselling it. I accepted the reduced offer based on that explanation. Months later, I was contacted by the person who bought my old Tesla. He found me on LinkedIn to ask some questions about the car. To my surprise, he told me the car was sold to him with the full PPF wrap still on it. I immediately called DGDG to understand what happened. Their response was, "You agreed to the final selling price, so there's nothing we can do now." I spent over 90 minutes trying to reach a manager. Everyone I spoke with said, "I'm not responsible; I'll connect you to the manager," and then the line got disconnected. When I tried to call back, I received no response. When I finally got connected with a manager, she said, "The buyer wanted to have the PPF, so we didn't unwrap it." And while I was still talking to her, the phone got disconnected again. I called back, but no one answered. This was a clear case of deception. They reduced the price claiming they had to remove the wrap, then sold the car as-is with the wrap still on, profiting from my loss. Avoid doing business with this DGDG. If they ask to reduce your car's value for any reason, demand clear documentation that explains the breakdown of the final offer and the reasons behind any deductions. Do not rely on verbal explanations. I regret trusting them.

However, about a week later when I went to get an oil change, I realized something that made the process more complicated than it should have been. Because this is a company vehicle, oil changes require approval through the corporate fleet program. I later found out that the dealership never actually called to get the oil change approved, which created unnecessary confusion on my end. Another thing that stood out was that the service advisor repeatedly asked why my company didn't just buy me a brand new car off the lot. Since this is a corporate fleet vehicle, that decision obviously isn't something I control. It felt like an odd question to keep asking and didn't really have anything to do with the service appointment. The recall service itself was completed, but better communication and a clearer understanding of how corporate fleet vehicles work would make the experience smoother for customers in the future.

Within the very first week, the thermostat and temp sensor went out and the RPM meter was jumping. When the mechanic went in to fix it, they discovered the differential had WAY too much play and was already seeping on one side, something I was NOT notified about by the dealership. Even after everything "checked out" before they sold it to me. On top of that, nearing the end of only THE SECOND WEEK, the engine started HEAVILY knocking and threw a check engine light when I was trying to get home. Not to mention the amount of times they made me drive out, only to go home with no solutions. They said that they were going to look at the differential and RPMs, so I had to drive out but they ended up saying they wanted to keep it WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE OR MENTION OF ANY KIND! So when we came back PREPARED, they ended up saying they wanted it for MULTIPLE DAYS INSTEAD! And they didn't even TRY to get me a rental because apparently they "were all given out already". (HUGE red flag!) Then the engine knocking came soon after. I essentially bought a $26k paperweight. When I reached out to management to resolve this, they completely refused to refund my money, get me a tow back home after being STRANDED, OR fix the vehicle! Now they're completely ghosting my calls and messages, even after saying they'll Email me my contract and NEVER DID. They will gladly take your money, but the moment the vehicle they sold you breaks down, they abandon you. Save your money and your sanity, stay FAR AWAY from this place and find a dealership that's actually GOOD. I'd give ZERO STARS if I could.
