I've never eaten at La Ciccia nor have I ever traveled to Sardinia, but that I am most definitely intrigued. The interior felt very rustic with touches of old European charm. The outdoor patio felt very al-fresco. Pasta and seafood lovers would surely enjoy dining here. Starters: - Roasted Monterey calamari with greens tossed in basil oil. Perfectly tender and the sauce is amazing as a bread dipper. - Spicy tomato stew with baby octopus: the collective thought was that this dish reminded us all of cioppino, and for good reason. The stew was absolutely delicious with perfectly cooked octopus. I could have eaten bowls and bowls of this stew. Not overly spicy with just the perfect kick of heat. We came for pasta: and pasta we did! - Cured fish roe spaghetti with spicy oil: umami rich in flavor with perfectly cooked pasta. I devoured the entire dish. - Fettuccine with sea urchin and tomato cured tuna heart: absolutely wow'd by this dish. Creamy sea urchin and tomato'y tuna heart paired so well with fresh pasta. "We" have a sweet-tooth. Our waiter said never to put a limit on dessert, and so we chose to have two to end our meal. - Chocolate pannacotta with hazelnuts: before spooning into the dessert, like children, we jiggled the bittersweet chocolate jelly sweet concoction. This reminded me of having a creamy hot chocolate from Angelina's in Paris, albeit this dessert being cold instead of hot. Really good. - The nightly special was: basil gelato topped with powdered fish roe. If savory and sweet eats are your thing, you will most definitely enjoy this dish. These guys are from Italy so it's not the American Italian you find in North beach. I went to Italy in 2025 and my brother and his fiance just got back from their honeymoon. So italian food brings back fond memories for all of us. Onto the food. We shared a bottle of wine ($60) and the polenta cakes as an appetizer. The polenta cakes with the squash are really good and I highly recommend. They also have this cheese dish that looks good but since we were getting pasta we didn't want anything heavy to start. I got the crab pasta and another in our party got the sort of white lasagna style pasta. They were both really good. The crab had more spices and was more savory. The other dish was super homey and comforting. My brother got the lamb and he enjoyed it a lot. We did not try dessert this round. But we will be back to try more of the menu.
