Yes! The menu is slightly different, but the best difference in my opinion is the complimentary mozzarella!

I had reservations for 2pm and was confused as well! Don't worry, they will still seat you and I believe the kitchen just stops taking orders around 2:20pm.

Today is 8/26/25 and the next reservation on Resy is 9/25/25, so I believe 30 days in advance, but I typically call restaurants directly to be sure.

They don't. Its very tiny and they don't have bar space for that.

The best bet is to have Resy up at 9AM and keep hitting refresh every 15 minutes or so. I was able to snag a reservation the day of that way.

I'm not gonna lie, I've never gone to aycd brunch and have not finished my food but I could not finish my entree it was so massive and filling. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Both the carbonara and risotto had some inedible parts to it that were disappointing. The pancetta had small pieces of hard cartilage and the risotto had part of a shrimp shell.

Carbone is one of the best restaurants in the city. We've been multiple times and each has been excellent. Reservations go fast and it's easier to book for lunch than dinner. The lunch menu is a little different from the dinner menu, but all the main hits are there. Carbone is a throwback to the classic NY red sauce Italian restaurants of the past. The food is excellent, on our most recent visit we had; Complimentary Garlic Bread And Salumi - very good, but miss the focaccia bread they used to serve. Caesar alla ZZ - this is prepared table side and is one of the best Caesar salads you will have. You can have the sardines on the side if you'd prefer. Assorted Baked Clams - excellent assortment of baked clams, the version topped with uni was especially delicious. Prosciutto & Melon - I'm not a fan of prosciutto, but the group I was with loved it. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - a must get, one of the stalwart dishes on the menu. I never really think of spicy pasta, but Carbone does it with this dish flawlessly. It has kick, flavor, and is one of the best pasta dishes you will have. Tortellini al Ragu - very good, we only did one serving of this pasta and was only able to get 2 pieces. Mario's Meatballs - another must get, you've heard it before but the only meatballs I've ever had that were better were my Italian grandmothers. Veal Parm - another stand out dish and must get. This is the best veal parm I've had. Cooked to perfection with plenty of cheese and sauce. Good size portion that they cut 4 ways for us. Dover Picatta - delicious, Dover sole is hard to come by these days and it was a treat to be able to have it. Another good size portion that was able to be split multiple ways, which is good as it's market price and very expensive. Pork Chop - good, I was pretty full at this point and only had a few bites. Like the prosciutto & melon the group I was with loved it. Corn Tartufaro - this is basically Italian style creamed corn and it was incredible. This was my favorite dish of the meal. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. Potato's Louie - mediocre, potato's lacked flavor. Only dish I wouldn't recommend. Carrot Cake - totally full by dessert, a generous sized portion and a good ending to an excellent meal. You can approach the menu as family style, however this isn't Carmines sized portions. We were a party of 7 and all felt full afterward. That required quite a bit of dishes as listed above several of which we had to double up on. The meatballs and rigatoni were 2 servings. I would say depending on the size of your group the pasta dishes will need doubling. Service at Carbone in the past has always been super pro and fun. The wait staff can be a bit over the top, that's the charm of Carbone though. On this most recent visit we were a little disappointed with our waiter. We felt our waiter was a bit rude, rushed us, and was not helpful/receptive to a dietary restriction within our party. This shouldn't be acceptable at a Mich star restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter). Being that our previous waiters have been excellent, that the rest of the wait and maitre d staff were wonderful, and that people sometimes have off days we won't hold it against them. If your in NYC looking for a top Italian spot IMO it's Carbone, Babbo, and Rezdora in no particular order. read more

Finally got a chance to get a table at Carbone a week or so ago. LOVED it here! LOVED it! I can't say enough about Carbone. From the ambiance which reflects a time in history when Italian Americans were really growing up in the 1950's. I just love the fun feel of Carbone. The great music, the AMAZING waitstaff who seem like they could be actors, the blue walls...everything is great. While you are reading the menu (and in our case having a glass of Lamberti Prosecco)...you are served complimentary dishes of Foccacia, Prosciutto and chunks of chianti soaked Parmesan cheese. The Prosciutto is nice and thin and wonderful. For Appetizers we ordered: Prosciutto and Figs...I could eat this all day long. Beets Siciliana...I was never a huge fan of beets...until now. Sizzling Pancetta....WONDERFUL. Octopus Pizzaiola...tender, garlicky, tons of flavor. Entrees: Oxtail Cavatelli...SPECTACULAR. Tender, moist. The cavatelli were perfectly prepared. Double Lamb Chops...I think there were two...my friend devoured them so fast I wasn't sure. Zuppa di Pesce...I smelled this dish coming before it even got to the table. Lots of garlic and basil. PACKED with fish. Large portion. Amazing. Cherry Pepper Ribs...FANTASTIC. Tons of flavor. Wonderful combination of cherry peppers and ribs. I would order this again and again. We thought we were full until we saw the dessert cart. I think we got one of everything... Tiramisu...perfectly moist, wonderful. Lemon Cheesecake...tart, tangy, great texture. For years we would go to Lupa and across the street was this mystical place that you never bothered to try because of the hype and difficulty of getting a reservation. Out of curiosity I checked Resy and I saw that there was a reservation at a reasonable time (usually I could only find 11:30pm if anything came up. I booked right away, and as what happens more times than not, the expectation from the hype builds. We enter the restaurant, and instantly deflated. Let's go through this together: 1) The place is darker than a speakeasy. What is the need to have lighting so dim you could probably see the northern lights? You can make that determination. 2) Our bill was around $380. This is up there with Peak, Manhatta, etc. Unless the check was wrong, the Filet Mignon special for a small steak was $185. From a food to money price point, Piccola Cucina, Scarpetta, L'artusi, Babbo, and local restaurants in my Bay Ridge such as Positano and Terina offer better way food at around half the price, maybe 1/3 in some cases. 3) When we were seated, the waitress was quite abrupt in her movements, and broke a wine glass on our table. I know that many owners/managers would comp a drink, dessert etc. They rearranged the table , a small "sorry", and went on with their day. Break glass, on a table, in a dark-lit space, is a pretty big mistake in my book, especially in such a hyped and famed restaurant. 4) The spicy vodka was good. Sort of a saving grace. But not really good enough to warrant a three star rating. A lot of you might be reading this and other reviews, still curious about the hype, as the place is packed solid on Resy 99.7% of the time. I know you might be curious, but if you are a normal restaurant goer in NYC and know the good spots, I would shelve the curiosity and not waste the money. read more

Overall: Dining at Carbone was truly outstanding--an experience I had eagerly anticipated after hearing so much about it. I know they have multiple locations, but this one was certainly worthwhile! I would certainly recommend. I've heard they have the best espresso martini in the city, but I didn't find out this information until after I went unfortunately. Reservation: Securing a reservation proved challenging; fortunately, a connection through a friend managed to secure us a spot, underscoring its popularity and exclusivity. Now, let's delve into the culinary journey. The Caesar salad arrived, but unfortunately, it left me yearning for more. Heavy on the dressing, it missed the mark for my taste. The bread, though, was a saving grace, though I found myself wishing for a more generous portion. Word to the wise: dinner might boast a different bread spread. Our main courses diverged in success. My brave choice, the spicy rigatoni, proved to be a bit too much for my non-spicy palate, leading to a somewhat disappointing experience. Carbone truly lived up to the hype! I was in New York for a short time and really wanted to experience it for myself. Luckily, I was able to use Resy to hop on the waitlist. Despite what I had heard about the difficulty in getting reservations, we found plenty of cancellations and openings during our time (we were looking for a table for two). The atmosphere is cozy and warm with limited seating, creating a fantastic, intimate vibe. While the service was mostly great, it did feel like other tables received more attention than ours at times--possibly because we were a younger group or just a lack of connection there. The food and drinks, however, were out of this world. To start, we were served a bread basket (the focaccia was incredible!), pickled cauliflower, and salami. We also had their Italian beer, which was super refreshing and a great complement to the meal. For the main course, we ordered the duck fat roasted potatoes, the famous spicy rigatoni, and the meatballs. The roasted potatoes were hands down our favorite--crispy on the outside, soft and luscious on the inside, with amazing flavor. The spicy rigatoni lived up to its reputation, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The meatballs were also a great choice, but with everything else, we had some leftovers. For dessert, we had the Nutella cake, which was pretty good, though nothing mind-blowing. We ended the meal with a complimentary rainbow cookie, which was probably my least favorite part--it just felt a bit bland. Overall, I absolutely loved Carbone. It's very hard to get a table so expectations are high when you arrive. And for the most part this place meets them. The meal was terrific and if I can get in, this is where I'm bringing all my out of town guests in the future because it's a lot of fun. WHAT I LIKED THE ROOM - this restaurant is a kick. The rooms are small, they're each different (bright in the front, dark in the back) and while the Little Italy Schtick is schtick, it's a fun one. BAKED CLAMS - all the retro food was good, way better than it probably was back in the day! But the baked clams were really good. Not greasy at all and enormous. VEAL PARMESAN - what I said above goes double ditto here. THE SIDES - the sides were plain, they were simple, and I loved them all. The three of us decided to order all five of them because why not and the creamed escarole was creamy, the steamed asparagus was virtuous, it was all good. WHAT I DIDN'T LOVE CAESAR SALAD - they make a big deal out of this and even prepare it tableside. It was fine but at the end of the day it didn't seem to have the same zest that some of the other reinventions of classic dishes had. Maybe I'm wrong to expect more out of a salad? DESSERTS - we had two and I don't want to pick on them by name, but both were fine but enormous and impossible to finish. Not sure what I can say about Carbone that hasn't already been said, other than if you're debating whether or not to go, just do it! Food, service, vibes - everything was remarkable! I started off with a cappuccino (I went for lunch) and it was perfect pick-me-up to prepare for my meal. They also serve complimentary garlic bread with a rich mozzarella cheese on the side, which is a great start to the meal. Next, I have to mention the dish that lives up to every bit of its hype - the Spicy Rigatoni. If you're like me and had heard endless raves about it, let me assure you, it's worth every penny and every bit of the acclaim it receives. The rigatoni is perfectly cooked in a rich and creamy tomato sauce. We also got a broccolini for the table, which I highly recommend as a side dish! When I stepped out of the cab and saw that the sign of "one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC" was a neon one, I immediately knew i was in for a bad time... We sat down, the table already rocked back and forth. The waiter didn't introduce himself to us, and tried to force us to order more, because their $40 main courses wouldn't be enough to fill us up. I didn't let that bring down my spirit. There's a phrase that optimistic people say that goes: "It can't get any worse". Today I learned that whoever came up with that was either Pinocchio or that scumbag cold caller telling you "this is your last chance to pay us or else we're handing your mythical debt over to collections" The pasta came. I can tell you with experience I eat anything and everything. The pasta was inedible, atrocious, and wreaked of a 2 year old's vomit. I should've read the reviews beforehand, since "Italian-American" is the biggest indicator of misleading food critics who want authentic Italian food. They should probably change it to "Italian Dinner Show & Entertainment" since their waiters wear the most ridiculous looking bow ties. Whoever invented the bow tie probably turned in his grave if he saw what they were wearing. Do yourself a favor, throw the $250 you'd probably end up spending there on your 401k plan instead. PLEASE READ IF YOU BOOKING. So.... I have been to Carbone many times as I visit New York often for work. I am from out of the country and traveled very far because my wife insisted on going to Carbone for Christmas. We booked our whole Christmas trip around this day. Carbone then New York ballet after. Our booking was at 530. We waited over an hour to be seated at around 642. We didn't get our food until around 713-715. We didn't end up leaving until 834 and I tried to get out as quickly as I could. Historically I have had a booking before at this location where I was 25 mins late and they wouldn't seat me. So being over an hour late just makes me laugh at the hypocrisy. Our server was good but he was overwhelmed. I don't blame him. Our experience with the food was absolutely atrocious. It was either overcooked, cold, baby portions or just not pleasant to eat. They even missed serving us some of the items on the set menu. How do you fumble so badly? To make things even worst we missed our booking at the ballet. We spent $1,200 for tickets. I don't drink and my wife barely does. Their solution was to try to give us drinks which we were not interested in. In the end they decided to refunded one of our preset dinners for only one of us which I have yet to receive. I will never be back again. Chef Carbone and Chef Torrisi would be embarrassed. read more

Carbone had been on my list for years, and getting a reservation ended up being one of the hardest parts of the experience. I've been to Carbone Miami, and securing a table there felt much easier. The NYC reservation almost felt like winning a lottery. Since it was my birthday, I went in with pretty high expectations. When I arrived, I was surprised by how small the restaurant felt. Based on the reputation and endless social media hype, I expected something larger and more impressive. The atmosphere was energetic, but it reminded me of a wannabe Craig's West Hollywood, just a less upscale version. The drinks were okay, but nothing particularly memorable. They got the job done, but they weren't a standout. The food was good. Every dish was enjoyable, and I can understand why people love the restaurant. However, if I'm being honest, it didn't blow me away the way I expected it to given how difficult the reservation was to get. The food was solid and well executed, but it didn't quite live up to the level of hype surrounding it. Would I go back? 100% yes. I had a great birthday dinner, enjoyed the experience, and I'm glad I finally checked it off my list. I just wouldn't go crazy obsessing over getting a reservation. If you can get one, definitely go. Just don't expect the reservation hype to automatically translate into the best meal of your life. read more

Carbone was one of those highly sought-after restaurants in New York, and even though it lost its Michelin star, it's still a bit tough to get reservations. However, when an opening popped up, I didn't hesitate to book it. The service at Carbone is truly top-notch, and our waiter was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. We sat in the Amex Patio, thanks to our Resy, and were a bit worried about the heat. But to our surprise, the little shack was cozy and beautifully decorated, and they had ACs to keep us cool. It turned out to be quite comfortable, even cooler than the main restaurant. Being adventurous, we decided to order quite a few items from the menu. The free mozzarella ball was a delightful start, and we wished they kept them coming. As for the dishes we ordered, the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka stood out as a winner, absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the dishes were just average. Considering the prices, we expected mind-blowing flavors, but unfortunately, they didn't quite deliver. I'm glad I got the chance to try Carbone and cross it off my New York foodie list. However, I'm not sure if I'd go back, as there are other Italian restaurants in the city that offer better dishes at a more reasonable price. I embraced the idea of Carbone. After Torrisi Italian specialities did so well in all categories. But Carbone? Carbone is an expensive mildly theatrical experience of what one might have experienced had they been in NYC 30 years ago in an old italian neighborhood. My experience with Carbone was not bad, per se. The food was good, no better than the old-school italian red sauce joints that have been around for years. The problem? You order a lobster fra diavalo at an old school italian restaurant and you get (or I should say "got") a run-of-the mill salad, a side dish (pasta or roasted vegetable) -- INCLUDED in the price. At Carbone? No such luck .Carbone is akin to the "country expositions" in Epcot Center in Disney World in that it seeks to mimic the draws of its predecessors (think dessert cart pushed around the restaurant) but without the quality per unit of price that the true traditional italian restaurants offer(ed). If you are swimming in disposable income and can let go of what you once knew (or maybe never knew) about a real italian red sauce joint, then Carbone won't bother you. But I was sorely disappointed and saddened as many of the old-school red sauce joints who served equal, if not better food, close and this place gets praised as if its some kind of novel idea. I've been trying to get to carbine for years, but I live across town and it never seemed to work out. With the new laws in place due to the pandemic just about every restaurant is offering delivery including carbone I was excited to see that. I ordered their signature dish "spicy rigatoni", plus meatballs, house salad and rainbow cookies I was looking forward to the meal. When it arrived the meatballs were out of stock as well as the cookies? I tried to call but no one answered ? I wasn't charged nor does the cost play a factor here I opened the rigatoni to see literally 4-5 spoon fulls of pasta, salad was no better.. I asked for it to be chopped and it wasn't. To say I was disappointed is an understatement I will give it a pass since it's pandemic times. But come on!! This place has no issue charging $32 for the pasta which I had no issue with. But maybe give a little more? Or at least give the courtesy of a call when my order couldn't be completed. I would have ordered something else or from somewhere else if I would have known. Was too late already.. went to bed hungry. Will say the pasta was very tasty. Probably won't go back read more

My wife and I recently had dinner at Carbone New York during our trip, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Probably one of my most disappointing experiences at a restaurant, especially one with such a good reputation. Our server had an incredibly belligerent/condescending attitude, summed up perfectly by telling one of our party, when asked which of the chicken dishes were better, that he would never order chicken at a restaurant. We found the general attitude and disposition of him very stressful and displeasing. It was like he thought the kids had been let out for the night and needed to be told what happens in 'real' life (for the record our entire party were highly successful business owners all in their early 30s). The food was solid but not mind-blowing, and certainly not up to a standard that could make up for the initial poor service experience. I will say, upon request, our server was changed and the new 'captain' did a fine job of going above and beyond to be attentive and try to make up for the initial experience, but unfortunately there was no way back from it, it was so wildly inappropriate and unnecessary. We got that too. It was fine. However, i don't put much stock into frying a chicken cutlet, putting tomato sauce on top and melting mozz over it. If you cant cook that, close up shop. Thank god Emilio's can at least do that because everything else was trash.

My only complaint was that the pasta portion was pretty small compared to the size of the chicken. The Rigatoni Nonnino was also delicious, but the sausage seasoning overpowered the vodka sauce a bit, so it wasn't as pronounced as it was in the chicken parm. For dessert, we shared the mousse cake, and it was amazing. It seemed to have layers of chocolate, hazelnut, and pistachio mousse over a chocolate cake base, topped with chocolate sauce. It was light, rich without being too heavy, and the perfect portion for two people to share. Overall, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was exceptional. I believe the limone sauce is most comparable to a chicken broth based alfredo, with Parmesan cheese and lots of butter. It is rich but it is not as creamy and (solid? idk how to explain it) as a traditional a Italian American alfredo. The sauce is almost like a Parmesan soup but in a good way. The lemon balances it out and it is very good. Highly highly recommend this dish, especially for a picky eater. Not that I am at all, I was just craving something like this in the moment, and it hit. The tap water is good quality, and the bread is a delicious. A crime they only give two slices per person. I wanted more! I took some home. The pastas were dry pastas out of a bag, not freshly made. They are also served al dente which is what they do, and they clearly indicate this, but I prefer a little softer. That said, the Parmesan cheese sauce and carbonara were very tasty. The steak was pretty rubbery though, and the potato puree was all right, decent amount of butter. I wasn't impressed with the dessert menu, so I asked for the bill. But they were nice enough to bring me a piece of tiramisu anyway. I had a couple bites. It was delicious, like tiramisu ought to be. Not over salted like the one at I Cavallini. I will note it is very loud there in the upstairs area. An expensive meal at roughly $194 including tax and tip, but cheaper than a trip to Rome.
