Quality homemade mexican food, at a decent price with free chips. What more could you ask for?

Our waitress was good, I wish I remembered her name. However, she went on a break in the middle of our meal, so we received no service for about 20 minutes. Did I mention the restaurant was empty? Very frustrating. Probably won't be coming back. read more

The hostess was very rude! We almost left but decided to give them a try. Our waitress was nice but I explained how I wanted just plain chicken in my flautas and my chicken taco. When I got my food there was stuff mixed in my chicken like peppers which I asked for just plain chicken. So I sent back the flautas and ate my chicken taco with plain chicken so I asked if they could remake my flautas with this plain chicken that was in my taco they said they couldn't because it was already premixed I said but my taco had plain chicken what's the problem? She said no its the same chicken, I said well I'm looking in my taco its plain chicken why can't they remake my flautas? No one had an answer for me, so I didn't order anything else and will definitely not give them my business again! !! read more

I am a regular customer and usually have great food, however today for the first time I ordered a salad. This was not a good choice because all it consisted of was the contents of a bag salad that you would buy in a market. I askd the manager why her restaurant sold bagged salads and all she could say was that it was what they have and that it was fresh and if I wanted something else. I'll go there for their Mexican food, however not if I am in the mood for a salad. read more

I ordered a bean and cheese burrioto and it was super greasy I could hardly eat it. I thought I'd give it a second chance so I got a steak quesadilla and again dripping in grease literally. I will not go back. And anyways Guadalajara's in temecula is delicious and the same price. read more

They have good food, drinks, Taco Tuesdays (eat in or to go), and breakfast/brunches. They always manage to seat us within 15 minutes even with a crowd waiting. The decor and flooring could use an update, and it's not very fancy, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a birthday or family gathering. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch special... I had the chili colorado... It must of been loaded with msg... I'm having a reaction now to it and my day is ruined... This was my first time here and I probably won't be back. It's my first time at a Mexican restaurant where you DONT get chips and salsa before your meal. Our server didn't even offer. I got my tea refill after I was done with my meal. I don't know if you HAVE to ask for it. But I saw other tables getting it. My food was OK. Kinda luke warm. I was given a bottle of hot sauce with about 10 drops in it. I had a coupon, due to the other location being closed. Probably won't give it a second shot. read more

This is our favorite Mexican food in Murrieta. When we go for Taco Tuesday it is packed and service is slow, but any other day the service is excellent. Really good chips and we like the self serve salsa bar. read more

I love this place, go there often, and usually convince someone to gp with me. I dont believe anyone i have taken has been at all unhappy. Service is great, food is yummy and HUGE portions! The service is slow, they overcharge for condiments, they seem to forget its a Mexican restaurant. They seem to think that because they walked into what was decorated for Giovanni's that they are a high class restaurant. Went on a Sunday and had a combination plate of eggs and cheese enchiladas, with rice and refried beans on the side. I really enjoyed the sauce over the enchiladas, between mild and somewhat spicy. My guest had the chile verde which passed her picky flavor and tenderness standards. Coffee very good as is the salsa for the chips. Portions are generous-sized. We have been regulars here for several years. Great food coupled with great service. Good salsa bar and nice atmosphere.

All I can say is be careful of what you order and mentally prepare yourself for the possibility of getting a raging case of diarrhea. From 1$ dollar tacos or something like that. My family got very sick. I called the restaurant. They were apologetic and offered us a 20% discount towards our next order. I have to admit admit that I come here way too often. Carnitas Express has the best Mexican food in the Temecula Valley. They have great breakfast, good lunch specials and outstanding dinners. All at a reasonable price. If you haven't tried it yet, you should stop by. read more

Of the three Carnitas Express, this one is by far the best. Much better atmosphere, same great food.

Against our will due to past experiences, we opted to go to Carnitas Express because we were in the area doing errands and we promised my four year old niece we could eat burritos for dinner. We figured it was Wednesday night, so kids eat free which was an added bonus to give it another shot. Knowing that the kids get impatient, we called ahead to see if we could put in our order. We were told that if we wanted the kids to eat free, we could not order ahead. We continued on and put our names down and were told there would be a 10-15 minutes wait. I have worked in the restaurant industry so I totally understand the seating situation but I also understand that you need to accommodate guests as best as you can. 20 minute later the kids were antsy and starving. We asked if we could get chips while we waited since it was way over our wait time and the kids were getting restless and starving. We were told that they cannot do that, so we asked if we could put in our order so that it would be a shorter wait for the food once we were finally sat. The last time we were there it took 45 minutes for three tacos to come out so we were trying to think ahead. When we were told by the manager that we also could not wait ahead while in the restaurant we finally just walked out. I understand that a lot of times wait times are longer than expected but if you have a promotional night where "Kids eat free" then you are expecting that families are going to go in. That being said, management should aim to accommodate families more if you are marketing straight to them. Needless to say, we won't be returning no matter how convenient the location is. read more

very good food in the idiom of what I would characterize as mexican diner food. I love carnitas and I found this place by accident when waiting for a friend across the street at bestbuy. Since the name of the place is carnitas I thought I had to try it and I loved it. The guacamole is terrific. They use the avocados with the deep bacon flavor. The carnitas are very good as should be expected for a place named Carnitas Express. The enchiladas are standard red sauce fare but with good flavors not the tasteless red sauce you sometime find nowadays. The wet burritos are great as well. The restaurant does so many standards well that I often find it difficult to order from the menu! When I'm in SouthWest Riverside County I always make sure to eat here several times because it is very dependable and I don't end up with heart burn which can happen sometimes for me. I ordered a steak quesadilla (appetizer). It came out literally swimming in grease, and the whole bottom of the tortilla on the plate was saturated.. I tried a bite of it (just to make sure it was as bad as it looked), and it was not very good. The steak was bland, there was no cheese to be seen, the piece fell apart, and the GIANT chunks of bell pepper in it were not cooked. Over all it was nasty looking, bad tasting and when I asked for the manager in order to have the order taken off of my bill, I was informed that my server WAS the manager and she told me that, "this is how the quesadilla is supposed to be, its not grease that is melted cheese". She basically told me that I was wrong, even after I told her it tasted bad. I will NOT be eating here ever again, and I will be actively telling my friends and family not to eat here. I did try a bean/cheese burrito before I left, it was ok. Big but bland, very little cheese, and the cheese that was in it looked to be low quality. I am very disappointed in the food, the service, and the lack of management skills. The "manager" was not very concerned that I basically told her the food she served me was in-edible. I was very polite about the whole thing, but the manager still insisted that that was how the food was supposed to be. I am californian.
