For starters the chips and salsa are the best! The chips are light but not thin and not thick, served warm and perfectly salted. The salsa isn't pico chunky it's the puréed style. These two alone is what I'd come back for ! Gustavo was our server and did not disappoint (based on all of his great reviews) he's very sweet. I chose the caldo de pollo (chicken soup) which is classic Mexican style. Just how I love it. It had a huge chunk of chicken and a drumstick with a chunk of zucchini, chunk of carrot and maybe something else and is served with hot little tortillas, and a generous side of rice. My companion got the snapper,which is beautiful to look at, it's served whole and fried. We thought it was a bit overcooked but still tasty and delicious nonetheless. The ambiance is the only downside for me, it doesn't distract but it's outdated and musty looking. No views due to the location being in an unexciting part of town. Just a basic , low light space. A unique Mexican food place that lives up to the hype! This place is buried in a mall with lots of others place and can be easily missed; but you shouldn't! We strolled into this place to try the food that was hyped up on Yelp. The smell from outside and in was savory! The menu is pretty typical of a Mexican food place but it has lots more variety and very different specials. We went with soup some drinks and a couple enchilada plates. The prices were very reasonable especially for the sized portions. Their service was pretty great, always coming around for refills and keeping us up to date on the food. The food came out pretty quickly too. The food turned out to be fantastic and tasty, the meat was not over cooked and the sauces were spot on. Service was great! Our waiter, Gustavo was very accommodating and consistently checked up on our group. I had the enchilada and taco and it was good. Drinks were good as well. We sat in the back room which accommodated 12 of us easily. The restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. read more

Family oriented eatery in Murrieta. The bar scene is a mix of good drinks and three large TVs with various sports channels. Booths and a separate dining area keep it mellow. Service is outstanding. Went to this location cause the other location on Jefferson don't have customer service like this location . Walked in and was greeted right away and was seated as soon as we walked in . This is a sit down dinner spot. As you enter, there is a friendly, casual bar, to the left. To the right you enter their dining area. During COVID they had outside seating and made it through the storm. You really have to hand it to any business, especially restaurants, who did. Employees are super nice and welcoming. Their menu is extensive, to say the least. From beans and beef to a variety of seafoods. It's extensive. Plan on taking some time to discover all. LIVED UP TO THE HYPE! From San Diego and decided to make a trip to this highly talked about restaurant. First impression, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was fast, seated and given chips/salsa within 5mins. Ambiance is relaxed, moderate noise volume and overall comfortable. Start to finish, our waiter was very patient, helpful and accommodating with all request and questions. This made the experience much better. My birthday just recently passed but they still gave me a complimentary cake and sombrero. Food was AMAZING and was shocked to see how affordable everything was. For $19 is had a whole fried fish with a side of fries, guacamole, rice and beans. My family and I were extremely satisfied and glad we decided to make this trip. I ordered a burrito to go from Casa Jimenez on Cal Oaks, and drove to pick it up. I had ordered it by phone ten minutes earlier. I waited at the restaurant lobby for another 20+ minutes for someone to bring the burrito from the kitchen. It was cold when I got it, so it wasn't prepared late, it just sat around for a while. My wife said it tasted "off" somehow, and didn't finish it. We've ordered these burritos before and they were always hot and tasted fine. Yeah, it's just a burrito, but here's the thing: I can understand how it might accidentally not get carried out to me on time, and I can understand how it might accidentally turned out not tasting right, but I have trouble understanding how both of these accidents accidentally coincided in the same burrito. read more

Family go to place for Mexican food here in Murrieta. The staff is super friendly, the food is good and the drinks keep us happy. The combo plates are a favorite of ours, plenty of food for what you pay. Small bar with about a dozen seats and also an area with 5-6 small tables for outside seating. I've come with a party of 20 people and been here with just my Mom, so good for parties of anywhere in between. Service is usually good.
