The ambiance is gorgeous, lively, and just dramatic enough to make your cocktail feel important. The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly allergic to being basic. Everything felt polished without being pretentious, which is a delicate little miracle in Las Vegas. Overall, it was delicious, stylish, and fun. I left full, happy, and slightly worried my regular dinner plans may now need professional help.
Fun Mexican restaurant at the Wynn! Stopped in for a late dinner, booths were super comfortable and the table side salsa was excellent. Ordered the oysters, tuna tartare, and queso dip with chorizo. The server Maria & Ricardo were very helpful and Justin, the manager, was super friendly and stopped by our table to ensure we have everything we needed.
FAB-U-LOUS! It was a girls night out so we splurged and hit the strip. From start to finish, we enjoyed every moment at Casa Playa. First... Chef Sarah Thompson... Is Remarkable! (She's a James Beard Award winner, you know.) She "nose" what people want. Great vibes... ambiance and decor! (There is the most adorable black n white picture of a donkey as you enter the restaurant. She took that picture and you just want to BOOP that snoot. Actually, as I understand it... she took all the pictures that are hung in the restaurant. She really is an artist in lots of ways.) She also KNOWS flavors and textures! I almost licked the dishes. All Of Them. I did not, of course, because this is an upscale dining experience and decorum dictates that I mind my manners. Full disclosure, I did lick my glassware tho... there was salt and seasonings on our drinks so it was acceptable. ha! The drinks are amazing! Careful tho.... while they go down smooth... there is Alcohol in them so imbibe responsibly. I am definitely going back to have another Wild Card.... in the simplest of terms... it's a pineapple margarita with a hint of heat. I loved it and if I wasn't driving, I would have had more than 1. If I had to pick a favorite... I would fail. We really enjoyed everything... my top faves are... I loved the Branzino... if you like Branzino even a little... order this. It's spectacular. The Maitaki mushroom in blanco mole... it's everything you want in mushrooms... "meaty", tender, flavorful, umami-ness... The scallops... The scallops were huge... succulent. Oh and the Green Rice. I don't know what is in this.. I mean... Rice ... yes.. probably garlic, cilantro and other magic... it's Fantastic and a definite must. It's a side and definitely enough for 3 people to share. The Purse Chair... super cute and considerate. Thanks to Chef Thompson and the entire Casa Playa team for a wonderful night out. We will be back!
Winner of my latest Vegas trip, this place was absolutely excellent!!! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the flavor concepts. Really top notch service. The ambiance was what I have come to expect from a "New Mexican" joint, but it made for a nice energy and felt lively. The food and drinks were out of this world though! I had myself a nice tiki drink to accompany an array of excellent seafood. The table favorite was the delicious seafood tower, it only closely followed by the calamari which was in this savory and super spicy poblano paste that was to die for. Then I had the Tilefish for my entree, but we all agreed the Branzino was the best entree on the table. All of it was excellent tho! And let's not forget the table side salsa :) Highly recommend especially if you are going to Sphere as it's right there!
The food here is great. We have eaten here in the past. But they are closed for seasonal maintenance on 76 2026 not sure when they're gonna open back up again.
Service was wonderful. Everyone very attentive. The ambiance was great too. Food was spectacular but little details missing. For example the queso fundido with chorizo was wonderful and tortillas hand made but no salsa provided to add a bit flavor or spice. I ordered a tostado with vegetables and mole but it needed a little something. A sour cream or salsa. But it was good. Same with branzino. Delicious with tortillas but could use a little lemon, cream or salsa if you turn it into a taco. Tres leches was wonderful. Overall great food but could have used a bit more if you are making a taco.
what's great dinner spot and experience. beautiful entrance. interior designs were stunning. there was a dj while we were eating. great for dinner with the girls or a date. the food was spectacular. not a single complaint. service was amazing. very attentive servers. so kind and friendly. I will be back.
In search of a lunch spot that didn't require us to leave the hotel and venture outside into the 100 degree heat, we came across Casa Playa in the lobby of the Wynn where we were attending a conference. While the restaurant appeared to only offer a brunch and dinner menu, we were informed that we could still order off the brunch menu. After putting our names down, we were seated right away. The dining room itself was spacious, and the decor was whimsical and eye catching; vibrant flowers seemed to rain down from the ceiling. Upon being seated, we quickly placed our orders - we shared some chips and guac - and I ordered the frijoles de olla as my main dish. To start off, the chips and guac really hit the spot. The guac was creamy with a slight kick from the sliced peppers, and the chips tasted fresh and homemade. I wasn't as much of a fan of the frijoles de olla; the sauce was too sweet, especially paired with the rich ricotta cheese filling. I think the menu would be strengthened by offering more savory options to cater to the lunch crowd.
Very cute restaurant I loved the little fish motif above the bar. The food here is decent. I expected a little more for the price point but what do you expect from Las Vegas. I was a bit surprised there was no complimentary salsa service, they charge $20 for salsa but they do make it tableside for you. The octopus dish was a 3/5 in my opinion. It could have a nicer char with a more tender bite. I had Pisces octopus the next day and it had the perfect texture. The short rib was delicious but quite small of a portion. It was a cute place to visit but I think if I want high end Mexican food I'd rather go to toca madera or Amaya
I ate lunch here earlier this week. I am not sure if the experience would have been better at night but I don't think I'll ever chance trying to find out. In town for business as I often am and had lunch at Casa Playa. At one point someone at our table asks if there can be no stars. My response was, this restaurant is beautiful so it will get one star for that. The majority of the negative review is based on the service...and a little on the food. You should be aware that they close the lunch kitchen at 1p. With a noon reservation that meant shortly after ordering our food at 12:45. The waitress asked us if we wanted to order desert because the kitchen was closing. Mind you we just ordered the food and nothing had come to the table yet. During lunch they only have one dessert which is churro. Finally we agreed to order a churro dessert. Of course before our meals came out someone came over to the table with churros. Terrible. They took them back and eventually the food came about 1:15. The food: we had apps of ceviche and salad and guacamole. The salad was fine. It was fine. A few people ordered the Chilaquiles. Everyone said they were spicy the could only stand a few bites. I actually ordered eggs with smashed potatoes and chicken sausage. I liked the sausage. The eggs had no seasoning and the potatoes were overdone and flavorless. But unseasoned food and dessert before the entrees were NOTHING compared to our rude ass waitress that I will not even call out because maybe she had a bad day. From the start everything we asked for was a problem for her and you would know it because if you can eye-roll as had as she was the entire time you would easily make yourself dizzy. We asked for a cocktail menu, tha was net with a sigh and an eye-roll. We asked for just about anything and what we received was an eye-roll. Getting explained about the kitchen closing and why the drinks were taking long. It was a bad day a bad experience. It was all bad. Except for the fact they had Fortaleza. That was great. The rest was not.
Casa Playa (at the Encore) is one of the most standout restaurant experiences we've had in Vegas thus far. I'm not surprised as I just learned the Executive Chef Sarah Thompson received the 2026 James Beard Award for Best Chef. The last time a Las Vegas Chef won in this category was in 2011. What we noticed about Casa Playa is it has more of a youthful scene. We exclusively stay at the Wynn so we're used to more of a mature crowd. That being said the music Casa Playa played was right up my alley (à la Rufus Du Sol) which instantly put me in a good mood. For dinks, we started off with some Perrier-Jouët which is one of my favorite champagnes, but we wanted to expand our palate for our second round of drinks. The sommelier Nicholas was fantastic! He gave us a generous amount of time helping us decide and learn more about the champagne world. I was truly touched by his passion and guidance. For food we had their housemade guacamole, gem lettuce salad and half roasted tamarind chicken. Everything was fantastic but their chicken was some of the best chicken we've ever had and it came with homemade tortillas. My husband and I rarely enjoy chicken and prefer red meat, but this stopped us dead in our tracks. We learned they marinate the chicken which yields incredible flavor and tenderness. We would have stayed longer to experience more of what they offer but had to head out for an event. This is one of those restaurants I must make room to dine at everytime we're in Vegas.
Located at the Wynn, Casa Playa is described as 'Coastal Mexican" cuisine. My first visit was back in early 2022 and I wasn't too big of a fan. Now four years later, their menu was revamped (to me) and it was a much better experience. Unfortunately, they were running behind that night. We had our reservation booked for 7pm but didn't get seated until about 7:30pm. Thank goodness for their beautiful entrance. Perfect to take your social media/Instagram content. My husband and I ordered the following: HOUSEMADE GUACAMOLE $19: wish this was made tableside but it was not. Flavoring was alright....could use a bit more salt and spice. Portion was fine, it's good for only two people though. MEXICAN BLUE SHRIMP CEVICHE $29: this was fantastic! I would totally order this as an entree. This dish was refreshing, full of flavor. AMERICAN WAGYU SHORT RIB SUADERO $59: another dish that can be shared between two adults. Wagyu short rib melts in your mouth, meat was so juicy. Come with a side of salsa verde, onions and cilantro as well as shishito peppers. We were able to make about four tacos with plenty of meat left over. Delicious! We also ordered a cocktail and a mocktail. Our server Ricky was attentive throughout the night and he even bought out a little complimentary chocolate dessert since he knew we were celebrating our belated Valentine's Day dinner.
I'm only writing this in hopes that someone in management might consider revisiting the chilaquiles recipe. Unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable chilaquiles dishes I've ever had. The bowl was filled almost entirely with tortilla chips covered in salsa, while eggs, protein, and even avocado were all additional charges. If 80% of the chips were removed and replaced with eggs or a more substantial topping, I think the dish would be much more balanced. I don't mind paying extra for protein, but it felt wasteful to serve such a large quantity of chips. Realistically, who can finish an entire bag of corn chips for breakfast? My favorite chilaquiles are more like a hearty, flavorful stew over lightly crisped chips, where the ingredients come together as a complete dish. This version felt more like chips drenched in green salsa than a thoughtfully prepared breakfast. That said, everything else about our experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, and our servers were attentive, friendly, and delightful. I'm sharing this feedback simply because I believe this dish has the potential to be much better.

Beach house offers that, seafood and a little more. The entrance to this restaurant is impressive with a great Olmeca head as you walk up, to the right is the hostess stand and the bar. With a full bar and of course a full selection of Tequilas. There's regetton music playing, yes love it, give me more! I started off with the Vibras Buenas which was a gin based dragon fruit cocktail it was delicious, in Spanish we call it Pitaya it was refreshing to see it on a menu and refreshingly tasting too. I then decided to try the Obsidian it was a play on a classic it was Tequila and cucumber but it was rimmed with black salt very exotic. I liked it! It was more than just your typical lemon/tequila concoction it was more, it was refreshingly good. For starter I tried the scallop ceviche it was accompanied with tomatoes it needed a bit more salt but the freshness more than compensated for the lack of seasoning. For the main I had the Branzino, it was well seasoned and tender, skin side down, tail attached. The husband had the short rib suadero he said it was buttery tenderness beautifulness lol. His description not mine. I love love love cucumber. So when I saw a cucumber salad on the menu I had to have it. It was a large cucumber salad perfect for sharing it was accompanied by tiny mandarins and sesame, it was crisp and delicious. I can see this place totally thriving and being a signature restaurant here at the Wynn, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Went to Casa playa for drinks recently and I was not disappointed. I will say I didn't have any food while I was here but the vibe was perfect. Nestled in the encore casino, you step into Casa Playa and you feel like you were teleported to Mexico City or Tulum. The cocktails were absolutely amazing and you can tell the mixologist has traveled around Mexico to create a great experience in this restaurant. Highly recommend going for the late night menu after 10:30 pm and sticking strictly with Tequila or Mezcal drinks to get the best experience. read more

Absolutely amazing experience and beyond delicious food. We had reservations, they had us wait about 10 minutes but offered us to sit at the bar and get a drink. The bartender was so sweet and attentive. We both got margaritas, which were delicious. Might I add, the barstools were so comfortable!! I'd sit and have my dinner there if available and I had no reservations. Once seated, our complaint was that it was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. They have a DJ that plays music the entire time. The entire restaurant is dimly lit but it makes for a very nice ambiance. We ordered the recommended chicken enchiladas and the wagyu short ribs. I wouldn't recommended the enchiladas buttttt the short ribs, are to die for!! They were so moist, tender, full of flavor, and just enough crisp on the outside. They were served with fresh made corn tortillas so you could make your own taco. We finished the tres Leche, it was delicious! Had crispy pieces of toasted coconut on top, which made it. Recommend if you love coconut and tres leche. We will make this a regular restaurant on our future visits to Las Vegas. Top notch service and top notch food!! read more

Attire: casual/but elegant (leggings, new sneakers, fancy t-shirt). Ambiance: fun, loud music. It is adjacent to the beach club, therefore there was a bit of a base sound. Food: amazing!!!! Fast delivery to the table. Cutlery: one of the best at the Wynn. Service: amazing!!! Alyssa is the person to look for. She was smart, beautiful, very well mannered as a waitress, and knew how to host us during that busy evening. Her recommendations were much appreciated. That evening the restaurant was at capacity, she made us feel welcomed and as if we were the only table she was hosting. Thank you for the welcome. read more
Dinner on a Saturday for 4. Ambiance is beautiful. The hanging orange flowers made the room pop! Service was exceptional, everyone was very friendly. Our server was wonderful, accommodating and gave us good recommendation on the food. We ordered. Wagu beef - 4/5 Prawns - 4/5 ( prawns were fantastic but the sauce for me was okay I can do without or have it on the side ) Corn & crab - 5/5 Soo good !!! Highly recommend Shrimp Ceviche - 5/5 plump shrimp good seasoning Octopus - 3.5/5 Tender and delicious but a bit salty for me. Highly recommend coming here ! Second time here, first time were in Vegas drunkenly run into it set and the bar and loved it. Had to google all Mexican places before I recollected my memory. Coming to Vegas again we had to come back. Service was little slow this time drinks took more than 15 min however Oysters, and crab legs were on point. Hostesses are super nice sweet and helpful. read more

Very nice classy Mexican restaurant at Encore Hotel Las Vegas. They're have a big menu and have everything you should try if you want to eat Mexican foods. Some of dishes have very nice presentation, that's I love to see specialty drink and dessert. Service is excellent and fast. read more

Saturday Brunch was amazing! If I could give more stars I would. I'm a Vegas local and rarely find restaurants with lots of gluten free options. Honestly the flavors, presentation and service were amazing. If I had to choose my favorite dishes the spicy chorizo shrimp empanadas and chilaquiles were on point. 99% of the menu was gluten free but only because they use fresh corn masa instead of wheat flour for everything. The pancake with pineapple and piloncillo syrup was another must try! Definitely going back to try a few more dishes. Oh and the drinks , don't forget to try the drinks! read more

La mejor comida mexicana de mi vida. Translation: The best Mexican food of my life! So many restaurants on the Strip are overrated. This is a notable exception. The food here is absolutely delicious. This is Mexican food elevated to new heights. While you'll see some familiar descriptions on the menu like "carne asada tacos," they won't taste anything like ones you've had before and moreover, there's lots of dishes here you've never had or even knew existed in the vocabulary of Mexican food. We tried two types of margaritas, the house and the Obsidian. I actually liked the house better. The Obsidian is made with Casamigos Reposado which brings hints of vanilla sweetness to it. Both were outstanding ($19 and $20). We then shared a three course for the two of us. First up was a new dish "seafood cocktail." As delicious as everything else was, this was the star of the night for us. It's loaded with lobster, scallop, shrimp and fish along with tiny squash, cucumber and lots of Serrano peppers. It's intensely spicy and intensely delicious!! Next was "carne asada tacos." So simple but so delicious - charred wagyu flank steak, onion and cilantro on house made blue corn tortillas. The flavor of the steak was left to shine and it did! ($22) Lastly we had the Dorado in banana leaf with green mole, chayote squash and hoja santa. Gorgeous and delicious. One thing Exec. Chef Sarah Thompson has mastered is balance. She allows the ingredients to really shine on their own without over-dressing anything. The squash that accompanied this dish is a good example. The char gave it just the right amount of punch and it was perfectly al dante. ($42) It's pricey - but not obscene like so many Strip restaurants (Almalfi, for example). The dining room is gorgeous and the service deserves six stars. Highly recommended. read more

The energy in the room was fantastic. The servers, sommelier, and staff in general were very friendly and accommodating. The old fashioned cocktail wasn't the best tasting as mine had a residual butane scent after the blow torch uncharacteristically, but the presentation was top tier. As for the food, absolutely delicious. From the homemade salsas and guacamole, to the tender crab and succulent shrimp, I could not have asked for a better culinary experience. read more

First time here and it did not disappoint. It had a really great vibe and ambiance. I really liked the bar setting too! The complimentary chips and three salsas were very good. The verde salsa was too mild for me but I'm sure it appeals to the masses. For starts we had the ceviche and it was excellent. Full of flavor and lots of lime. For my entree I had the chicken mole. I was surprised at the portion size! The mole was super good, rich and full of flavor and spices. My husband and I also shared sides of blisters shishitos and the green rice. I loved the green rice and highly recommend it as a side. For cocktails I tried both the wild card and playas margarita. Both were good but the wild card had the best flavor. Loved the kick of the peppers with the pineapple to balance it out. Both drinks were very heavy on the ice so I did feel it was not a good value. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable and made great recommendations. However our service felt a bit rushed. We ordered multiple courses and were out in less than an hour! It really felt like they were rushing out courses. I would still come back and give it another shot because the food itself was delicious. read more

We loved our experience here from start to finish. We were seated right away and never really had to wait for anything. The staff was great! Very attentive, polite, and personable. The food was also very flavorful. We ordered the queso fundido which my 7 year old son ended up loving, as well as the surf & turf which my husband and I shared. Everything tasted delicious and was cooked perfectly. We also had the churros for dessert, which comes with toppings like peanuts, toasted coconut, & chocolate and caramel sauces. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Vegas. read more

This place is great!!! Fun yet upscale atmosphere. We enjoyed the Smokey chipotle ahi tartare, the chorizo queso fundido (cheesy gooey goodness), and the best fish tacos (crisp outside, fresh fish inside with the best sauce!) the skinny margaritas are the best I've ever had... and the service! Our server was so nice and fun! Birthday shots and dessert were a nice touch! read more
