Cliff Notes Price Range: $$$ Parking: We ubered Perk: Drinks Non-Perk: Paying Ambiance: Classy Dress: Business Casual Noise: low/Med Recommend: 100% Response Time: N/A Professionalism: 100% Dissertation: I walked in for dinner and immediately felt underdressed by my own standards, which is always a promising start. The ambiance is gorgeous, lively, and just dramatic enough to make your cocktail feel important. The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly allergic to being basic. Everything felt polished without being pretentious, which is a delicate little miracle in Las Vegas. Overall, it was delicious, stylish, and fun. I left full, happy, and slightly worried my regular dinner plans may now need professional help.

Service was wonderful. Everyone very attentive. The ambiance was great too. Food was spectacular but little details missing. For example the queso fundido with chorizo was wonderful and tortillas hand made but no salsa provided to add a bit flavor or spice. I ordered a tostado with vegetables and mole but it needed a little something. A sour cream or salsa. But it was good. Same with branzino. Delicious with tortillas but could use a little lemon, cream or salsa if you turn it into a taco. Tres leches was wonderful. Overall great food but could have used a bit more if you are making a taco.

Winner of my latest Vegas trip, this place was absolutely excellent!!! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the flavor concepts. Really top notch service. The ambiance was what I have come to expect from a "New Mexican" joint, but it made for a nice energy and felt lively. The food and drinks were out of this world though! I had myself a nice tiki drink to accompany an array of excellent seafood. The table favorite was the delicious seafood tower, it only closely followed by the calamari which was in this savory and super spicy poblano paste that was to die for. Then I had the Tilefish for my entree, but we all agreed the Branzino was the best entree on the table. All of it was excellent tho! And let's not forget the table side salsa :) Highly recommend especially if you are going to Sphere as it's right there!

In search of a lunch spot that didn't require us to leave the hotel and venture outside into the 100 degree heat, we came across Casa Playa in the lobby of the Wynn where we were attending a conference. While the restaurant appeared to only offer a brunch and dinner menu, we were informed that we could still order off the brunch menu. After putting our names down, we were seated right away. The dining room itself was spacious, and the decor was whimsical and eye catching; vibrant flowers seemed to rain down from the ceiling. Upon being seated, we quickly placed our orders - we shared some chips and guac - and I ordered the frijoles de olla as my main dish. To start off, the chips and guac really hit the spot. The guac was creamy with a slight kick from the sliced peppers, and the chips tasted fresh and homemade. I wasn't as much of a fan of the frijoles de olla; the sauce was too sweet, especially paired with the rich ricotta cheese filling. I think the menu would be strengthened by offering more savory options to cater to the lunch crowd.

I had a great experience at Casa Playa. The table side salsa (medium spice) was the best salsa I've ever had! The fish was creative and flavorful. My favorite dish was the scallops - so flavorful. It's also beautiful inside.

I ate lunch here earlier this week. I am not sure if the experience would have been better at night but I don't think I'll ever chance trying to find out. In town for business as I often am and had lunch at Casa Playa. At one point someone at our table asks if there can be no stars. My response was, this restaurant is beautiful so it will get one star for that. The majority of the negative review is based on the service...and a little on the food. You should be aware that they close the lunch kitchen at 1p. With a noon reservation that meant shortly after ordering our food at 12:45. The waitress asked us if we wanted to order desert because the kitchen was closing. Mind you we just ordered the food and nothing had come to the table yet. During lunch they only have one dessert which is churro. Finally we agreed to order a churro dessert. Of course before our meals came out someone came over to the table with churros. Terrible. They took them back and eventually the food came about 1:15. The food: we had apps of ceviche and salad and guacamole. The salad was fine. It was fine. A few people ordered the Chilaquiles. Everyone said they were spicy the could only stand a few bites. I actually ordered eggs with smashed potatoes and chicken sausage. I liked the sausage. The eggs had no seasoning and the potatoes were overdone and flavorless. But unseasoned food and dessert before the entrees were NOTHING compared to our rude ass waitress that I will not even call out because maybe she had a bad day. From the start everything we asked for was a problem for her and you would know it because if you can eye-roll as had as she was the entire time you would easily make yourself dizzy. We asked for a cocktail menu, tha was net with a sigh and an eye-roll. We asked for just about anything and what we received was an eye-roll. Getting explained about the kitchen closing and why the drinks were taking long. It was a bad day a bad experience. It was all bad. Except for the fact they had Fortaleza. That was great. The rest was not.

Casa Playa (at the Encore) is one of the most standout restaurant experiences we've had in Vegas thus far. I'm not surprised as I just learned the Executive Chef Sarah Thompson received the 2026 James Beard Award for Best Chef. The last time a Las Vegas Chef won in this category was in 2011. What we noticed about Casa Playa is it has more of a youthful scene. We exclusively stay at the Wynn so we're used to more of a mature crowd. That being said the music Casa Playa played was right up my alley (à la Rufus Du Sol) which instantly put me in a good mood. For dinks, we started off with some Perrier-Jouët which is one of my favorite champagnes, but we wanted to expand our palate for our second round of drinks. The sommelier Nicholas was fantastic! He gave us a generous amount of time helping us decide and learn more about the champagne world. I was truly touched by his passion and guidance. For food we had their housemade guacamole, gem lettuce salad and half roasted tamarind chicken. Everything was fantastic but their chicken was some of the best chicken we've ever had and it came with homemade tortillas. My husband and I rarely enjoy chicken and prefer red meat, but this stopped us dead in our tracks. We learned they marinate the chicken which yields incredible flavor and tenderness. We would have stayed longer to experience more of what they offer but had to head out for an event. This is one of those restaurants I must make room to dine at everytime we're in Vegas.

I'm only writing this in hopes that someone in management might consider revisiting the chilaquiles recipe. Unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable chilaquiles dishes I've ever had. The bowl was filled almost entirely with tortilla chips covered in salsa, while eggs, protein, and even avocado were all additional charges. If 80% of the chips were removed and replaced with eggs or a more substantial topping, I think the dish would be much more balanced. I don't mind paying extra for protein, but it felt wasteful to serve such a large quantity of chips. Realistically, who can finish an entire bag of corn chips for breakfast? My favorite chilaquiles are more like a hearty, flavorful stew over lightly crisped chips, where the ingredients come together as a complete dish. This version felt more like chips drenched in green salsa than a thoughtfully prepared breakfast. That said, everything else about our experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, and our servers were attentive, friendly, and delightful. I'm sharing this feedback simply because I believe this dish has the potential to be much better.

Located at the Wynn, Casa Playa is described as 'Coastal Mexican" cuisine. My first visit was back in early 2022 and I wasn't too big of a fan. Now four years later, their menu was revamped (to me) and it was a much better experience. Unfortunately, they were running behind that night. We had our reservation booked for 7pm but didn't get seated until about 7:30pm. Thank goodness for their beautiful entrance. Perfect to take your social media/Instagram content. My husband and I ordered the following: HOUSEMADE GUACAMOLE $19: wish this was made tableside but it was not. Flavoring was alright....could use a bit more salt and spice. Portion was fine, it's good for only two people though. MEXICAN BLUE SHRIMP CEVICHE $29: this was fantastic! I would totally order this as an entree. This dish was refreshing, full of flavor. AMERICAN WAGYU SHORT RIB SUADERO $59: another dish that can be shared between two adults. Wagyu short rib melts in your mouth, meat was so juicy. Come with a side of salsa verde, onions and cilantro as well as shishito peppers. We were able to make about four tacos with plenty of meat left over. Delicious! We also ordered a cocktail and a mocktail. Our server Ricky was attentive throughout the night and he even bought out a little complimentary chocolate dessert since he knew we were celebrating our belated Valentine's Day dinner.

Just tried Casa Playa at the Wynn--new coastal Mexican spot that's straight-up gorgeous. The vibe? Chic, breezy, like Baja met Vegas luxury: think orange flower chandeliers, lush palms, and that massive stone head greeting you at the door. I went for the Surf & Turf--Wagyu carne asada, lobster, jumbo shrimp, short rib suadero, pork belly al pastor, all piled on with serrano kick. Melt-in-your-mouth beef, perfect char on the seafood... honestly, it was ridiculous how good. Mikey our waiter? Total pro knew the menu inside-out, kept things fun without hovering. Made the whole night feel effortless. Definitely heading back. Five stars, no question. [Here are a couple shots of the place and that epic plate makes me hungry just looking!]

Very cute restaurant I loved the little fish motif above the bar. The food here is decent. I expected a little more for the price point but what do you expect from Las Vegas. I was a bit surprised there was no complimentary salsa service, they charge $20 for salsa but they do make it tableside for you. The octopus dish was a 3/5 in my opinion. It could have a nicer char with a more tender bite. I had Pisces octopus the next day and it had the perfect texture. The short rib was delicious but quite small of a portion. It was a cute place to visit but I think if I want high end Mexican food I'd rather go to toca madera or Amaya

Let me start with the amazing service provided by the very friendly amazing Antonio and management. Antonio was amazing very friendly, kind and attentive went above and beyond. He notice that our food took way took long and spoke with management. Management gracefully took care of us. They removed 2 item from our main dishes and gave us two free shots on top of that. (Mind you we did not complain about the food being late). Antonio noticed the problem and solved it with management. Thank you both. We greatly appreciate you guys. We order the following: Oyster on the half dozen. I would give it a 7.5/10 The beans were excellent just a touch too slaty (maybe there just that day) but somehow they were eatable but delicious 10/10 The rice was good (texture) but somehow it needs a bit of flavor 7/10 Brazing sarandiado flavors were very good solid 9.5/10 Lamb was very, very tender and flavorful the dish it self was on another level solid 11/10 Review as May 23, 2026 The ambience was perfect. Music volume was good enough to be able to have a conversation and still enjoy the music played in the background. The decor was different and very well lit. Over all I will definitely recommend Casa Playa and ask for Antonio. Highly recommend making reservations before going there or you will wait about an hour if not more of course depending on the time you're going.

Food is good. Definitely suggest the green cilantro rice, beet salad, and Dorade. However, management sucks. I ate here both in September and November and this past trip my son got sick to the point of having to check out the morning of our reservation. The restaurant wouldn't accept an ER acceptance to return the 50 dollar reservation hold placed online. I found that to be very shady and telling of both theirs and the hotel's policies. Happy to not return. read more

went here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. we had a reservation and checked in with the hosts pretty fast. the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and all the staff is so nice. our server's name is george and he took good care of us. most of the food on the menu is meant to be shared. there were 10 of us and we ordered the perfect amount of food. the drinks are soooo good, too. george always checked in to make sure we were doing okay. the churros are soooo good, crispy on the outside and soft inside. would definitely come back here!! read more

We came to Wynn for my birthday and had dinner at Casa Playa. I wasn't expecting it to be an incredible experience, but ended up being a memorable occasion. We started in the bar as came early where the fantastic bar staff with Rob taking care of us introducing a unique tequila shooter. After a few drinks we relocated to the dining area where Sharon was a fantastic server that made great suggestions to make the meal memorable. The oysters were chilled and shucked to perfection with the oyster juice intact that made them fantastic. But wait, the PRICKLY PEAR MANDARIN MIGNONETTE took them to a new level. We ended up having 2 orders of the oysters. They Hawaiian Snapper and the octopus was equally incredible where we were blown away by the both the food quality, sauces and the service level. read more

We have been looking forward to eating at Casa Playa for some time and it didn't disappoint. We had an excellent dinner and the staff was amazing as well. We were greeted and sat right away. The drinks were delicious and our server was so friendly. The chips and three salsa's were some of the best we've ever had. The chips were hot, crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The shrimp and enchiladas were amazing. The fire dessert was really cool! Overall a great restaurant. read more

Poor service, not reflective of Wynn restaurants. Asked to place the full order within 5 minutes of sitting down. That completely killed the vibe for us. The food that we did order came out fine, hence the extra star. This isn't the place it is made out to be. Skip if you're looking for a classy experience with good food matched with great service. read more

The worst attention. Very disappointing . Had a reservation and I showed up earlier to see if they will seat us because our flight was delayed and we were famished . There was a lot of tables available they told me to wait they were still time before our reservation . People having reservation even later than I start getting a table. I talked to the hostess and ask her if our table was ready and she in a very bad manner replied someone will get you when he's ready. Five minutes past my reservation and they were still not taking us in. They were sitting more clients , but not us. I had to talk to the manager and they got us our table 10 minutes later . The two woman hostess very rude . read more

Made reservations for Sunday night and had a wonderful time. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary all weekend, but this was our favorite dinner of them all. We ordered the little gem salad and the ceviche. Both were delicious. For our mains, we ordered the lamb birria and the branzino. Rice and beans for sides. Delicious. My husband and I couldn't get over how good it was to eat something that felt homemade and so good in our tummies. 10/10. Ricky, our server, was fantastic. He brought us complimentary celebratory shots. He was good vibes all around. Couldn't have asked for better service. Also, the restaurant is beautiful and we enjoyed the music. So fun. Was really excited to eat at this place. Kinda reminds me of the awesome restaurant at Cancun hotel strip. Place is cute inside. Wait staff is attentive. We came here to take out an out of town guest. When we left the restaurant- we all said it was to loud. The DJ was doing his own thing but yes it was loud and hard to have a good conversation during dinner. The food is ok. Octopus had good flavor. Avocado dip is good- helped cool of my mouth after eating Serrano peppers. We got the surf abc turf dish- it was just ok. Place is overprice- yes it's strip pricing well aware. Best part is the desserts and cocktails- great presentation. read more

Casa Playa has stunning interior and decor, which makes it a fun yet upscale atmosphere. I went with a group of friends and we all ordered cocktails, which were cute and aesthetic. Overall, the food was good and my favorite was the branzino, which was tasty and cooked well. However, the lamb was pretty tough and salty. Service was good, but our food did take a long time to come out. We had to ask our server about updates regarding the status of our meals. However, the servers were attentive and friendly during the evening. Despite the minor faults, it was a nice experience that my friends & I enjoyed. read more

Have no idea how this place has 4 stars on Yelp -- it's absolutely baffling. The food is outrageously overpriced for what you get. We ordered the Lamb Birria and Short Rib, and before that, the server casually offered guacamole and salsa -- which is a basic starter at any half-decent Mexican place. But here? They call it "salsa service" and charge $19 for each. That's $38 for glorified sides. Now onto the Lamb Birria -- flavorless, bland, and completely forgettable. It comes with tortillas, but of course, those are extra too -- $6 more for tortillas? Are you kidding me? So we paid $48+$6 for a dish I had to assemble myself, that tasted like nothing and looked not bad actually. There is nothing special about this place. Save your money and skip this restaurant. read more

Unfortunately, the restaurant was not yet open for the night when we had tried to grab a table, however, if the restaurant and the remainder of the staff is like Jackie, than I would eat here anytime. Jackie was so friendly and helpful at the front desk. She was bubbly and approachable and took the time to help us (tourists) without showing even the tiniest amount of impatience. She's the reason we decided to come back and try the restaurant although we had reservations at other places "that came highly recommended". Perfect person for the front desk, matches the immaculate vibes that the front of the restaurant gives off. read more

Executive head chef Sarah Thompson is doing amazing things at Casa Playa!!! Came here to celebrate a dear friend's birthday and the food, service, ambience....everything was perfect! It truly felt like we were transported to a beachside resort in Mexico, eating the most amazing food! Why you need to go to Casa Playa stat: 1. Thoughtful service: We were asked if we were going to a show after dinner. I don't think any Strip place has asked me that before, but makes perfect sense to ask! We were going to see Ali Wong and Casa Playa made sure our courses came out in time for us to laugh our butts off at Ali Wong! 2. The FOOD!!! Everything we had was amazing and knocked our socks off! Some of the absolute standouts were: MAITAKE MUSHROOM - did not know white mole existed! Amazing flavors on fun fungi ;) WHOLE SNAPPPER TEMPURA - heard about this from fellow Yelper, Andrea R., and this was my fave!!! It came out piping hot, lightly battered, tender, and packed with flavor. Comes with a delicious citrus salsa and tortillas! GREEN RICE - made with spinach, cilantro, lime, and good ol' butter...this is a MUST order! CAROLINA'S FLAN - Carolina, you are amazing! Chamoy caramel. Enough said. 3. Amazing service from Susan! She was so personable and sweet! Susan suggested great recommendations and steered us right! Susan brought us birthday mocktail shots since we were doing a no alocohol night, and a fun birthday dessert for my friend! Such a sweet touch! Came here tonight with my family for my husband's birthday. Highly recommend! Eli was our waiter and he gave us THE BEST recommendations. We ordered the octopus, carnitas and frijoles de olla for dinner. Eli had recommended the carnitas and it was AMAZING! Carnitas were slow roasted and tender with crispy skin. It was a table dish enough for 4 people but the three of us DEVOURED IT. Then for dessert we ordered the churros with chocolate and cajeta. Eli also recommended the Obsidian drink (a spicy margarita) which was also delicious! Would definitely return and when I do, I will request Eli because he provided amazing service! I love a waiter/waitress who not only takes care of us but someone who can perfectly recommend the dishes we are looking for. Thank you, Eli! read more

Ok...I ended my boycott last night because we were headed to see Ali Wong (who was amazing, btw!! Check out her new show, Beef - that was also fantastic) and I wanted something close to the theater. Plus, I had a large enough group to finally order the whole fried fish (which is essentially the replacement for the now foregone fish tacos). Ricky, our server, remembered that I have a peanut allergy (which was SO nice) and then talked us through the new menu items - I do REALLY love that the menu isn't stagnant and the chef puts so much thought into her dishes. I also chatted with the GM, who said he appreciated the feedback (though he probably actually wants to murder me...lol) and was very accommodating. We ordered a few of our standards (guac, green rice, octopus, gem salad) and tried a few of the new items: - Squash tamal - WHOA. My mom is from Honduras and I have tried a LOT of tamales in my life. Again, not a huge short rib fan - this blew all the others I've had out of the water. We also had a few desserts - their new flan (same Peruvian style, new chayote sauce), the choco taco and the churros (again, crowd faves). AND of course, we had some pitchers (Obsidian - less sweet, extra spicy, Playa Marg) and more than a couple Carajillos to power us through the night. Some of the best food I've ever had! I ordered the half chicken for my entree and was delighted by every bite I took. Additionally the waitress that was assigned to my girlfriend and I was amazing and even brought out 2 virgin shots on the house for a slightly longer wait time! They literally had the worst guacamole I've ever had in my life. Not salted, the thing was barely even smashed. It was like chunks of avocado. Extremely poor seasoning. No tomato, no onion, some lemon, kind of like what you would expect from someone... I honestly don't even know what to say. I had to tell the waiter respectfully that it takes the cake for the worst walk I've ever had in my life. Wife and kids felt the same. As for the fish, and spinach green rice, nothing particular that stands out. But friends you know wasn't bad. But nothing amazing. The one sauce that was good was the chicken a company sauce, it was almost like a chicken tikka Masala, and I had to mix it with everything else. As far as ambiance is concerned, it's pretty. That's why we stay here. But the food was mediocre at best. I absolutely will not return and I wouldn't ever recommend the restaurant to anyone else read more

Went with friends after going to the Art Of Wild festival so it was convenient that it was nearby. The entrance is beautiful and perfect for a photo op. If you are in one of the best casinos on the planet than you are at the Wynn and Encore ! If on your way to the poker tables or xs nightclub stop by after 10:30 pm and try the steak tacos . Fresh made salsa and chips were very good. Ceviche was underwhelming and a very small portion. Chicken tinga enchiladas had 4 small tortillas with mild ranchero sauce but chicken was very thick and had a mushy texture. Entrees are served a La Carte so beans and rice were extra. Absolutely delicious. Beautiful decor inside with orange flowers hanging from the ceiling. Instagram worth 100%. Highlights for me was the surf & turf, truffle tostada and the scallops. The seafood was fresh -- cooked perfectly so it wasn't dry. Highly recommend the truffle tostada if you're a fan of black truffles! The staff was friendly and attentive. I ate here as a solo traveler based off a insta video. I got the yellowfin tuna tartare and the for the table pork belly al pastor. The tuna tartare was okay but not very flavorful. I have eaten yellowfin tuna sashimi and I find it mild but delicious. It came with an extremely hard tortilla that did not pair well with the tartare. The pork belly al pastor was good but not $105 worth. It was tender and did have good flavor but some bites were overly salty. The accompaniments were very good with the pork and the pineapple helped with digestion. The service was okay. It took about 5 minutes before getting water. Then I did not get any of the free chips and salsa until after my yellowfin tuna tartare was served. Not a criticism but what I experienced. I traveled here specially to try the food and was left disappointed by the experience. I love food and don't mind paying as long as the quality matches. I would not recommend. It's an upscale Mexican restaurant. There is a dress attire. Please check before visiting. read more

Looking at all the tables, I felt that anywhere they sat us would have been comfortable. Beautiful restaurant and the service was ok but the food is bland and overpriced. No wonder it was more than half empty. The tuna tartar had this weird smoky flavor, the guac was so small, and the "for the table" surf and turf one person could eat and it came with zero beans, rice, etc . $400+ later for 2 people and we left hungry. The ambiance was amazing, the service was phenomenal, the food was fresh and yummy! The tableside Surf + Turf was awesome but a bit on the smaller side. Wow, is exactly what I told my wife walking out of Casa Playa. There was not one thing we had that we wouldn't get again. Blake and Jorge our servers made the best recommendations. Every single one was delicious. To start the night off I went with their Mezcal Flight which was served with small bites. When I go back I'm definitely trying the other flights. The Obsidian margarita was also very refreshing and paired up great with all our appetizers. The western oysters in my opinion were some of the best I've had, they were served with a prickly pear mandarin mignonette. The Kampachi was another of my top favorite dishes. All the seafood was very fresh. For our main dishes we had the Branzino and the American Wagyu short rib saudero. Branzino was perfectly cooked and a light meal witch was perfect after the appetizer we had. The short rib was cooked perfectly and great with the freshly made corn tortillas they bring out. To end the night we had a few desserts, my favorite was Carolinas flan. Also a must have is a Carajillo, my first time ever having one. Make sure to ask about it at the end with your desserts. Oh my goodness! This restaurant is out of this world! I absolutely love the interior, the music, the staff and most of all the FOOD! Literally everything was 10/10 and seriously one of my favorite spots! Definitely a must come back! All the food is listed in that menu photo I attached with the description! My favorite had to be the Queso Fundido and NY Steak! The steak was so juicy and flavorful and the Queso had just the right amount of seasoning and salt! I honestly think the fried ice cream was not too good. It did not taste freshly fried, and the coating was very dry and brittle and hard to eat. I prefer the places that serve the fried ice cream warm with a very bubbly crust that is both crunchy outside and a bit soft inside. This was not that. Overall, though, we really enjoyed the dining experience here! We will probably return and try their weekday "Fajitas and Ritas" special! I recommend Hola!

The hostesses were gracious and attentive, seating us promptly and setting the tone for the exceptional service that followed. The decor throughout Casa Playa is rich and immersive, blending traditional Mexican artistry with modern elegance. Marigolds are thoughtfully placed throughout the space, while the bar dazzles with beautifully illuminated bottles and unique fish-inspired art installations suspended above. Aztec influences continue throughout the restaurant with intricate statues and wall pieces. Seating is a comfortable mix of booths and tables, offering an intimate yet lively dining environment. Our server, Haylie, was a true highlight--charming, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating. She guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm and expertise, making great recommendations and enhancing our experience every step of the way. The cocktail menu is inspired and creative. I recently had an amazing experience at Casa Playa, and it's easily a 5-star recommendation from me. The restaurant's ambiance genuinely makes you feel like you're in a cozy beach house. The background music, reminiscent of melodic waves crashing on a Mexican beach, added a delightful touch to the atmosphere. LOVEEEE CASA PLAYA have been coming here for years!!! Super delicious Mexican food and great atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend. Everything is unique flavored and has its own twist. The cocktails, octopus, steaks and guacamole were my favorite. The service is wonderful as always. read more
