Took the kids to finally celebrate birthdays and anniversary. Great meal and excellent service. Starters were guac and street corn along with salsa. All great. I had enchiladas verde, others had the Coloraditas, short ribs and duck stuffed prawn. All were very pleased with the service and the food. 3 of four took food home. Recommended for some high class Mexican.
Fives across the board. Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.
I will preface this by saying Mexican food is not a favorite of mine so I don't have many other upscale Mexican restaurants to compare my experience to. Parking: they offer valet and there's a nearby parking deck. The parking deck was full so we opted in for street parking just around the corner from the restaurant but valet may be easiest due to the busyness of that area on the weekends. Ambiance: Nice vibe inside. My friend said this was her first time being able to get a reservation so I recommend reservations. Looked great for solo dining, date nights, or friend night outs. Service: Service was great from the time you arrived to the time you left! I'm very big on this and Casi Cielo is a stand out in this department. From the hostesses to our waitress, Alondra?, who was new were all great. I loved that they took such pride in their menu from their in-house cocktail ingredients, their extensive Mezcal selection, or the culture that went into each of their dishes were all shared with us as we decided between the menu. Cocktail: I got the Raicilla Punch. For $17 I was honestly pretty underwhelmed and would skip it next time. It was sweet, but just nothing special to me. Food: For an appetizer, we had Fundido de Queso which was the highlight of the night for me. I'm a cheese lover and loved the nuttiness and smoothness plus the cheesy crust. I was also a big fan of the freshness of their chips and different salad. For my main course, I got the Enchiladas Verdes. Everything was seasoned well and it paired great with what we had left of the queso. My only feedback is I would've appreciated a little bit more if the sauce. My friend also mentioned that when she had the dish previously, it had more sauce. To conclude, my friend ordered the Capirotada which is like a bread pudding. Their vanilla ice cream was to die for and the dish had a good flavor and was served hot! The verdict is still out as to whether id go back for dinner, but I am curious about their brunch because I like chilaquiles and would like to try their horchata. I took off a star because the fire alarm kept going off which was a tiny bit disruptive.
Wow. I didn't have much expectations coming in but my husband and I were blown away by the food and service! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. Vani was our server and he was awesome, but all the other staff we interacted with was great too. I got to try a bunch of things with our party of 4: Aguachile de pescado - loved the tender fish contrast with the fresh and crunchy onions. Acidity level was perfect. Croquetas de platano - a little sweet, a little savory, soft inside and crispy outside. Nice taste of mole as well with the sauce. Tostada de pork belly - the pork belly itself is the tostada base. Kind of reminded me of candied bacon. It was a bit too sweet for me but others in my group loved it. Cochinillo tacos - didn't get to try this one but my friend said it was good - her second time ordering it! Quesabirria - not your traditional quesabirria. Filled with delicious lobster. It was cooked perfectly with tender meat, stretchy cheese, crispy tortilla but juicy on the inside. The lobster bisque was rich and tasty. Lime and guac was refreshing. One of their newest additions go the menu! Entraña - husband didn't expect much from skirt steak but he said this was perfectly tender and flavored. Cooked to perfection! The salad was refreshing and potatoes tasty with cheese. Volcan de chocolate - mexican twist on a chocolate lava cake. Great for dark chocolate lovers as it is not too sweet and has a little kick from chile powder. Topped with a delicious coconut gelato. De verano - a soursop cream our birthday girl got. Great for those who like acidic desserts like lime or lemon flavored things. Tostada francesa - this was literally the highlight of our night and a wonderful way to end the meal. Hands down best french toast we've ever had!! Definitely more of a dessert than a breakfast item. The toast is sooo soft and custardy on the inside and the refreshing cream and fruit on top is the perfect pair. A must try and favorite of the staff too. Can't wait to come back just for this. While I didn't LOVE everything, the whole meal was generally good so I think this spot deserves 5 stars. A lot of times the customer service is great but the food is just average. But here at Casi Cielo not only is the service great but the food also matches the caliber of the staff. Definitely a must try for elevated Mexican food! I have been to Oaxaca, MX and the food here reminds me of one of the fancy restaurants we went to :)
I love Casi Cielo! It's dimly lit, vibrant, and thoughtfully designed. The service is always amazing and the staff is very friendly. I always get the enchilidas when I come - they are my favorite! So flavorful and I always have leftover to take home after. The queso and guacamole here is also delicious and would recommend as an appetizer to share. I am curious to check out the new location on the Beltline next!
Casa Cielo in ATL did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were on point and the service was top tier. We were lucky enough to be taken care of by Giancarlos and Laura, absolute gems behind the bar. Their energy and attention made the experience even better. Now let's talk food * The plantain cheese balls were next level delicious, crispy on the outside, melty perfection on the inside, all sitting in a rich flavorful sauce * The queso was smooth, savory, and seriously addictive * But the real star was that green sauce. I would drink it straight. It's that good * My husband devoured the pork belly tostada with mango pico and gave it a solid 10 out of 10 Between the beautiful ambiance, elevated flavors, and impeccable service, Casa Cielo is officially a new favorite in ATL. Can't wait to come back!
My absolute fave restaurant in ATL. You can never go wrong. Order anything off the menu and you'll probably enjoy it. Great vibes for a nice brunch or dinner or to bring out of town guests to experience good food, good service, good atmosphere, and good live music. I love the French toast, the bone marrow, the plantains, the special Oaxacan coffee, the squash soup. But above all, they do steak so well here.
We were greeted with live music on a Sunday noon. Our server understood that we were celebrating special occasions and did a wonderful job recommending menu items that we would like. He provided us with an amazing service and even gifted us painted little pots with flowers. The flavored water was refreshing! We had the Tiradito for appetizer and all the flavors complemented each other so well! That was seriously the best appetizer I've tried at a restaurant. My espresso martini was delicious. I think I had two? The dessert we had was called De Verano and it blew my mind. It is soursop mousse with meringue, black berry and lemon zest. I thought I've had it all until I tasted it. It was an unforgettable taste.
Had heard this was a great upscale Mexican spot in Sandy springs. Great location , ample parking in the adjacent parking garage and nice selection of options to choose. We sat at the bar and had 2 great bar tenders who knew the menu, made great recommendations and the food was delish. I had the fried fish tacos and my accompaniment had the chicken tacos . Both had a great flavor profile that was delish. We had 2 cocktails- pineapple margarita with a hint of spice and tahin on the rim. The guac owed fresh and flavorful and we had a blue chip appetizer as well. I would definitely return but is a bit pricey. Not your average Mexican spot but found out they are the sister restaurant to LaParilla which is also great for their food and margaritas.
First time here and this place didn't disappoint. S/o to my waitress Wendy, she was great. She definitely gave some good suggestions. The food was flavorful and overall tasted great. The atmosphere was welcoming and worth a trip back. Also located in a good area, you can walk some calories off after. Lots of options on the menu so try a few small options with your entree.
I came here with my friends for brunch and it was amazing. We were the first reservations so it was a little confusing to get inside since I wasn't sure it was open or not. Once we were seated, the waitress was gracious and asked about dietary restrictions or allergies. Then the group ordered and I got chilaquiles and mexican hot chocolate. The food was delicious and only downside was that I had asked for hot sauce and didn't receive. Despite it the drink and food was absolutely delicious! The amaniance was amazing and they were playing live jazz music which really added to the mood.

I got the chilaquiles and the basket of bread. The chilaquiles were disappointing -- there was so much hype around it but it just lacked flavor (and was weirdly sweet?). The basket of bread is $15 for 3 pieces of bread cut up (it was okay but so not worth it). I also got the cafe de olla but it tasted somewhat old (maybe it's just not my cup of coffee). The service was leaning more towards bad than good but I guess it wasn't terrible. The ambiance is probably the best thing about the place (very lively)! read more
The dishes here are Oaxacan inspired, smoky and saucy in flavor and texture. Oaxaca is considered the gastro capital of Mexico, known for its mezcal, chocolate, and mole. I dived headfirst into my poblano stuffed with cheese, duck, and a buttery mild verde sauce. I ordered salsa on the side to add a bit more spice, but was overall impressed with the dish's presentation. A small prawn was included on my plate as well - I only wish the dish came with more prawns. We washed it all down with a carajillo beverage, a Mexican cocktail mare with espresso and coffee lacquer. It's very similar to Irish coffee, but with more foam. For dessert, we shared a deconstructed cheesecake with hints of a fruit called guanabana, a green fruit with white flesh. It was citrusy and decadent, I was feeling my food baby after just a few bites. read more
We randomly saw this place on IG and decided to give it a try for brunch. The beautiful restaurant design along with live instrumental music created a very relaxing ambiance. The food was amazing! Simple ingredients done very well! We ordered the French toast, chicken tacos, and steak avocado breakfast. The French toast came with a soursop cream that was so delicious without being overly sweet. The steak was so tender. The tacos had a great balance of spicy and savory. The service was excellent! Wow! This place is absolutely delicious. My sister and I, both Mexican, were impressed by the freshness and taste of the food. The portions are generous, so much so that we were full after the appetizers and almost forgot we had ordered two duck moles. Thankfully, they were able to make just one, as we had plenty to take home! From the handmade tortillas to the exceptional mocktails, everything was perfect. If you're looking for great Mexican cuisine, this is the place to go. The dress code is a bit more refined, think sundresses and nice dress shirts, but it made for an amazing experience with my sister. read more
My girl friend and I went to celebrate my birthday. It started out great. We made reservations. Valet parking only and it was $2. The roswell road area gets very crowded. We were seated on time and had a great server. The managers kept coming by every 10 mins to check in on us and I thought that was great the server was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions and accommodated all dietary restrictions with alternatives. We had drinks, guacamole and shared 2 entrees. Very filling. Towards the end of our experience our server forgot to put in the coffee and then forgot to bring us sugar also charged us incorrectly. It seemed as they got busier she was unable to handle the amount of tables she had and mixed our bill up with someone else's and also got our desserts wrong. read more
It was our first time at this restaurant and it will not be our last. First thing's first: the service is superb ( gracias Lulu), we felt welcome as soon as we walked in, even though we didn't make a reservation and they were clearly pretty booked. We were accommodated after a short wait. When it started raining outside the staff kindly brought out umbrellas to walk us in. The food is yummy! We had the croquetas de plátanos, the guacamole and tostadas for an appetizer. Followed by the entraña meal with the most tender steak and delicious enchiladas verdes. The drinks were unique and smoky garnished with black salt and the best was the dessert.. I would never order a strawberry cheesecake but it was amazing! read more

Chilaquiles were da bomb Our waitress was lowk slow though...like mentally. Everything took 2-3 business seconds to process. We were greeted by a blank smile every time we asked her a question. Cool little coat rack situation near our table though. And this guy was playing live music but my boyfriend/side piece (only cuz Randy's off in Utah for a business trip...working hard or hardly working am I right ) who is a professional said it was mid. We came in without a reservation when it was very crowded and we seated immediately outside as a party of 2. It was a bit cold but there were fire heaters that kept us warm. Food: The food was delish! We started off with the pulpo al carbon (octopus with potatoes) and it was AMAZING! It was my first time trying octopus and I was not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection and the portion was enough for 2 people. They gave us 2 tentacles instead of the usual 1 which was so sweet and much appreciated. I got the enchiladas verdes and it was also so yummy. We asked for hot sauce which added the perfect amount of spice to it. Drinks: Paloma Negra - SO good! It was a bit strong but I was not mad about it. The volcanic salt rim added the perfect tang. La Llorona - yummy!! perfect spiciness. Tequila shots - we decided to get a tequila shot (which we never do) and they poured us generous shots which were pretty smooth. I completely forgot the name but it was mezcal. Service: So great!! Literally no complaints. Interior: Absolutely loved the atmosphere & design inside! The background music was also so great. I've been wanting to go back since and will absolutely be going back! Walked in to kill time because Friday traffic was insane. Without reservations I was greeted and seated by a most charming host. The unfamiliar menu was thoroughly explained by my dynamic and very accommodating server, Morgan. The place is packed, deservedly. Don't expect Tex-Mex. It's Oaxaca, indigenous dishes that are sure to please. Make a reservation and enjoy the camaraderie of the staff and of course the delicious food you came for. read more
Met with a couple coworkers for dinner. Alejandro waited on our table. All employees wore masks and tables are adequately spaced apart. They also have patio seating. We started with cocktails. All well made and crafted. The presentation on my smoked old fashioned was spectacular! Check out the pictures Most of us had the bowls for dinner. I had the duck bowl, most of my companions had the steak. Comes with rice, beans, plantains and guacamole. Served on a banana lead on the plate. Good portion, great flavor. If you like spicy ask for the "hot" hot sauce. Some kind of green concoction but yummy!! One of my dining companions did try the vegetable napoleon. Really great tasting food with lots of vegetarian options. Got seated at the bar, so make sure you have a reservation. They are crowded on Sundays as well. Had the nicest server take care of us and gave us a variety of alternatives. Wonderful ambience and vibes and they have live music. read more
We just found a new favorite place! Had brunch here today and what an experience... We made reservations in OpenTable, but at 11 AM Saturday the place was just opening and there was no line like in some other brunch places. We were greeted by their nice staff and walked to our table, with high chair in place. These folks are prepared, even giving us a small coat rack for my wife's purse and the diaper bag. Their "tap" water is infused water, and they change the flavor everyday. The server (Alejandro?) was super friendly and informative. He made some recommendations from the menu that helped us make our mind quick about what we wanted to try. We ordered the chilaquiles, the duck and waffles, and the kids plate (pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs and bacon). We also got Mexican hot chocolates (yummy). The duck and waffles is the best waffles dish I've had in Atlanta, and that is one of my favorites dishes, so I have tried a lot of them. I was surprised by how soft the fried duck was. The waffle is made with corn and the syrup is agave. Just super delicious. The chilaquiles were extremely good too. My wife got the chilaquiles, with a good presentation and portion size. All ingredientes were fresh. She enjoyed the tortilla chips were crunchy in the beginning, even though the bottom got a bit too spicy for her. The kids dish (shared between two) was a good size too. Bacon was crunchy and on the sweet side, which is the right way. Very tasty option for the kids. We will definitely continue to come back here to try most if not all of the menu items. I met a friend here last week for dinner. It was my first visit and upon entering I felt underdressed... having just left the gym. The dining area is well lit and warm and it was decorated with holiday items. Our server was very informative and the food was delivered on time. We ordered queso dip and plantain balls for appetizers... I didn't care too much for the plantains made that way..but the queso dip was amazing. When our main courses came out, my enchilada meal was very bland the chicken tasted boiled with no flavor whatsoever but I was able to switch it out for the bowl and was comp satisfied at how the server handled that situation. However, the manager came out not too long after I sent the enchilada plate out to explain that it is one of the best meals and he seemed disappointed that I disagreed with the taste. I would have preferred a simple "thank you for dining with us and I apologize this dish didn't live up to your expectations..." instead I felt he invalidated my concern with the food. Nonetheless my server had a better response and I would return based on my experience with her. read more

I have been coming to Casi Cielo for years. If you are Atlanta-based, put this on your bucket list. I've come here for date night, meet ups with friends, casual drinks or upscale dining- this meets all needs. I highly recommend making a reservation. This spot specializes in Oaxacan food, so don't come expecting Tex mex. Every time I come, I try something new, but it is a punch in the palette every time (in the best way possible). It's not just food, but the unique approach to putting these ingredients on the plate and plating. One of the desserts we had tasted like clouds- it was like a meringue but lighter and not overly sweet. I'm already excited to come back here again. This place makes my personal top 10 list. read more
Came here for drinks Friday night with my date & we had a great time. The atmosphere is romantic enough for a first date, yet casual enough for a mixer with friends. I really enjoyed the soft lighting & kind wait staff at the hostess stand & the bar. We pretty much just came for drinks, but had an opportunity to try their fresh halibut which was amazing! When I think of fine-dining Mexican, this restaurant nails it on all levels. Ambiance, service, food, drinks, everything. Even the owner/manager was out on the floor chatting with guests and asking how the food was, he made each and every guest (including us) feel special, as if we had attended a dinner party at his very own house. He even walked us to the door when we finished. Classy, I know. Even our waitress was adorable, knowledgeable and smart. Anyway on to the food, everything was delicious. The guacamole with blue corn tortilla appetizer is a must get. Such an explosion of flavors and well thought out, even down to the presentation. The chicken and steak tacos were also incredible with such a sophisticated and delicious flavor. We honestly can't wait to go back! read more

I went here with my husband for a nice date night. For my drink I got the Paloma Negra. It was tart (in a good way!) and a little smoky with the volcanic salt. If you don't like the smoky flavor, which honestly I didn't but that's just me personally, they put it on half of the glass so I just drank around it! It was nice to try something different. The actual drink itself was delicious! For an appetizer we got the Croquetas. They were tasty, not too sweet especially when dipped into the mole sauce. For entrees, I got the Tuetano. It was so delicious! The bone marrow was buttery and the lamb was well cooked and seasoned. I've never had bone marrow before and I loved it! My husband ordered the Mole Enchiladas. They were great, mole sauce had a bit of chocolate flavor and was very good. Overall an amazing experience. Our server was knowledgeable about everything and the ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. This is now one of my favorite restaurants here in Atlanta and I'm so excited to eat here again! read more

Amazing!!! From the moment we walked in we were met with the friendliest, most attentive, and professional staff ever! The hosts were great and the servers even better!! Tessa was the real star of the show!! From the moment she introduced herself she was on it! She knew the menu like the back of her hand, made sure to confirm our orders (we were a party of six), kept our drinks filled, and most importantly our table clear of used plates! She also made great food and drink recommendations!!! Speaking of food and drinks, the food was delicious, fresh, and hot!!! We ordered a little bit of everything but I specifically got the grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos, Guacamole and chips appetizer, and a Chilirita. The fish was super tender and seasoned perfectly. It came with rice and beans that were equally as good. The guacamole was sooo good my friends couldn't stop eating it! Lastly, the Chilirita was super refreshing with a little kick. Three of us ordered it and everyone shared the same sentiments.. Last but not least is the impressive presentation of everything. You could tell that the chef and other kitchen staff really valued their craft! All in all, it was a great experience! Upscale Mexican does properly. They have amazing service through and through. Doors opened for you, purse/bag racks by every table, dishes explained when you order and/or served to you, check ins. The food was divine. The bone marrow tacos are a MUST if you love that beef butter flavor. We got the ribeye and the strip steak, both super tender and flavorful. Salmon is cut open table side which was fun and it was delicious. You absolutely have to save room for dessert here. The deconstructed cheesecake with Mexican ricotta was chef's kiss. Creamy, decadent, but not too sweet. The bread pudding was sticky and sweet in the best sweet. Added to my favorites. read more

This place has so many food options you could come everyday for a week and still not try everything. Everytime I come, I am greeted by their friendly staff and served quickly. The inside has a real grown and sexy vibe. The lights are dimmed low and there's music playing but not too loud. I have never had a dish here I didn't enjoy. Don't walk, run!! ;TLDR - I have nothing negative to say. Ask for Juliana to be your server ! This place is amazing and I randomly stumbled upon it because I was in the area but I've recently seen lots of tik toks reviewing the restaurant. I recommend getting a reservation because they are usually pretty busy.. thankfully the hostess and manager sat our party even though we did not make one. Our server Juliana was absolutely phenomenal. Server of the year status! She was so knowledgeable about every single item on the menu, the history behind it, the ingredients, the flavor profiles. I am a super foodie so I love these kinds of interactions with servers. I could tell that she really put in the effort to learn about the menu so she can inform customers about this style of food. All the food that I ordered was amazing and I cannot wait to come back and try Oaxacan food! Items ordered: Guacamole Charred octopus Fish tacos Duck burrito bowl with eggs The atmosphere was super classy but also appropriate for families with small children . Outstanding dining experience featuring authentic Mexican cuisine and the widest variety of Mezcales in the city. It's a simple menu but every dish I've had is excellent. My best friend Alex took us tonight to eat here on our last evening in Atlanta before returning to Miami & we loved it. Lulu was our server & she was OUTSTANDING, she treated us very professional & made our visit VERY pleasant. The Manager "Hector" was also super attentive, made great suggestions & made us feel very welcomed. We were super pleased with the Food & drinks. Overall 5/5: Mine and my friends first time in; we were celebrating one of my friend's birthday! Drinks 5/5: We all tried different drinks, i had the paloma negra which was great. They were all strong, but tasted good. They all looked super pretty; great presentation. Not really a drink, but they had flavored water as their standard and it was amazing! Can't remember what it was, but our server made sure that none of us were allergic to it as well. Excellent :) Food 5/5: I had the pollo guajillo and it was great! Yummy flavorful and great portions. We were all stuffed. The dish also came with plantains and potatoes, both equally as tasty as the main. Service 5/5: Areli made sure we had a great time! Like I said it was our first time, and she was super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She was also very patient with us and we appreciated that. She also surprised us with a dessert for my friend, great service. Vibe 5/5: Great music being played inside and loved the environment. It was really fun and energetic! We had an amazing valentines dinner at Casi Cielo last night. Our server was the best and I loved the atmosphere. The food here is great- unique combinations of flavors and ingredients that you wouldn't expect. And all this for reasonable prices? I already can't wait to go back. - Croquette plantains: two huge croquettes filled with mashed plaintains and a unique cheese. Make sure to eat each bite with the sauce- it completely changes the flavor. 5/5 - Octopus: I was blown away by the portion size. 2 large pieces of perfectly cooked octopus. Well seasoned with a lot of flavor on a huge bed of potatoes and pork rinds. 5/5 - Bone Marrow: I love bone marrow and the presentation was gorgeous. But each piece had large amounts of bland, chewy lamb- wish it had more tender pieces of beef instead. Served with a side of thin and moist blue corn tortillas. 3/5 - Suckling pork tacos: The best texture and mouth feel pork I've had. But no flavor!! Disappointed on that part- we only had one of the two. 3/5 - Side of plantains: cooked well 4/5 - Horchata: sooo good 5/5 - Dessert: caramelized tres leches bread pudding- I cannot even put into words how good this was. The interior of the restaurant was very pretty, so if you're worried about aesthetics, don't be. They have a full bar, booths, regular tables, high tops. Everything is very tastefully designed. The service was good. I never like to bash waiters and staff unless it's absolutely necessary which it most often isn't. It wasn't above and beyond, but it wasn't bad. I liked our waiter and he was very accommodating. The food, however, was very...mid. The best dish we had was the octopus for sure. So, if you go, get the octopus. We also ordered two tacos, which weren't anything special. I can't cook very well, and I felt I could've made it myself. Plus, some of the ingredients didn't make sense i.e. putting carrots on top of the tacos. It didn't taste right. It didn't flow. If you want to go, then you can. Do I recommend it? Not really. Does Casi Cielo have vegan options or can things on the menu be veganized? I'm hoping to bring my mom for dinner, but she's vegan, and I can't tell if she'd enjoy a meal here (or just me!).
