This past Saturday, we went to Castle Korean bbq, all you can eat. We have been coming to Castle for the past 10 years Here is the breakdown and the review. Atmosphere is nice. Though I wished it was more Korean. There are 3 different all you can eat menus (AYCE). We typically got the lowest one for $21. But decided to do the $26 (mid grade model). The main difference is that you get more bbq options. Then there is the higher one. The meal came with the typical side dishes: kimchi, marinated fish cake, pickled cucumbers, a salad, marinated bean sprouts, and a couple others. The side dishes were ok. Nothing to yelp out about. We also ordered cheese corn and some miso soup. It was ok. Meats we ordered were the pork bulgogi, intestines (since it drew our attention, beef short ribs, flower steak, and a few others. Our meal was good. Unfortunately. No one item jumped out on us. Meats included mainly beef, chicken and pork. No seafood (bummer). But that was ok Overall, compared to other Korean bbq restaurants: Service 5/5. It was great Atmosphere. 3/5 it was strange to not hear Korean music and the clients seems to not be racially mixed. Locations and parking. 3/5. Koreatown has poor parking taste and quality. 3 / 5. Good food. But just ok on seasoning Pricing. 5/5. Can't beat it compared to Sacramento ca Overall. 3.5/5 I recommend it as 1st timers. This is a safe place to try AYCE Korean bbq without breaking the bank. On a side note, if you are not sure about what you are ordering, do not hesitate to ask for a "small" dish so that you can try it out and not be stuck having to eat something that you end up being disappointed over. It may look very basic, but don't underestimate the food. I went here for the first time with friend. We decided to have early dinner, almost "senior time" at 4:30. Hindsight that was a good decision since it wasn't busy (yet!!) and we enjoyed good food during the 2 hours. One pays $18.99 and is allowed to stay for 2 hours. The meat is well-marinated, pork belly, chicken, beef. We were definitely filling our tummies but couldn't finish all the meat they put out. Not as many side dishes as I have seen in other bbq places, but I liked each of them! Radish kimchi is a new-found favorite for me. Their seemingly basic green salad is so delicious, we ordered three more times. Accompanying sauces (2) are more than enough plus the meat is so well-marinated that it doesn't really need xtra sauce. There is always a lot of people waiting especially if you come during the weekends but compared to other kbbq places that I have been to they seat you in less than 45 minutes. It's cheaper than other kbbq places in koreatown and the meat definitely tastes a lot better. Their sides are delicious serving a wide selection. The waiters are all friendly and make sure to come check on every table making sure you have everything you need and ask if you would like a grill change or if you want to order more meat. I just want kimchi, maybe some daikon radish or bean sprouts w/sesame oil. That's it! Miss the days when I could get a KBBQ fix for $15.99...guess those days are gone. Just have to say Ambience at this location has always been loud. It's loud enough that having a conversation with your fellow diners could be optional. Service is pretty much the same...it's basic and honestly OK. Servers are polite and don't disarm you with any over enthused pleasantries at other places. I did notice that you now have to ask a server for the bottle of sesame oil as opposed to a bottle ready and waiting for you at the table. Used to come here a lot 10 years ago when it was $10.99. It is $20.99 for option A now. The place is newly remodeled and a lot cleaner. I still see one of the same waiters. You have to pay when you enter before you eat. Don't worry about the service as they are quick, attentive and friendly. I usually just eat the brisket. 21.99 for AYCE KBBQ in 2024 has got to be the greatest value deal in Los Angeles. The meat quality was comparable to a $39 AYCE KBBQ place, the service was great, and the interior of the restaurant had plentiful fans to suck out as much KBBQ air as possible so it won't stick too much on your clothes. The only cons are that the restaurant is a bit small, parking lot is small and valet only, and you pay before you get seated which is weird because it puts you in a strange position where you don't know how much to tip because you don't know if your service is going to be good or bad. Despite this, I am giving this place 5 stars simply for the affordable price and really high quality meats. It did not feel cheap at all. Definitely will come back! My boyfriend and I are regulars here, there's a valet out front, plenty of seating and the wait has never really been more than 45 minutes. One really cool feature that they have here is that they have different type of grill options. There's the stainless steel grill and the cast iron grill.
