My hubby and I were visiting from WA. state and stopped in for some lamb and were not disappointed! We both had the lamb shank and it was tender, moist and seasoned perfectly. It comes with homemade hummus, deliciously light buttery rice; it's the first time I've realllly enjoyed hummus. The salad was crisp and refreshing and we got adventurous with a cup of Turkish coffee. Their Baklavah was outstanding. Nutty, honey, flaky. Great prices! Everything was very tasty and the owner visited with us on the deck; he gave us great info on Texas and and displayed that famous Texas hospitality to perfection. Poor, poor, poor restaurant. No good. I blame management. I'll start by saying that I've eaten Mediterranean/Arabic food in many different cities.(including street vendors) By far, this place is the WORST. I kept it simple. Falafel appetizer and gyro plate. Everything is premade, microwaved and served pretty. Quality, sucks. On the falafel appetizer, the tahini sauce was so watery, it looked like skim milk. The falafel, zero flavor. Then the gyro plate, the gyro was precut and reheated, you can tell the rice was not fresh, same for the salad. The hummus was ok but the pita bread wasn't heated up at all!!! You can tell they took it out a bag, cut it and served. The service was courteous but they waited until AFTER they served my appetizer to bring silverware. They NEVER checked on me while I ate. They didn't check on me AT ALL.(I could've walked out and I doubt that they'll notice). When I approached some girl to see how I go about paying, she pointed me to go make a line as if I'm ordering to go. I'm sorry to say that even the franchise Mediterranean food places are far above this place. Whoever owns and/or runs this place needs to get fired and replace. No good. read more

This place not worth the price! Surprised at check out!!For starters they charged more (by a dollar) for each plate than menu prices listed. They served 4-5 ounces of meat for $11.99 & $12.99 plates for what; mainly rice & salad! They had gnats in the fountain drinks, tap water not available since "pipes not cleaned out for a month" so I was charged for Sam's brand bottled water ($1.79 a bottle) when it was their fault tap water not available. Food taste was mediocre at best! Also, Pita bread not served with meals so extra charge for that too. $37.69 later - no thanks -never again! Waiter did not at any time communicate or check on us once. This place won't last maybe that's why receipt has the name "Fusion House Cafe" when signage says "Cedar Mediterranean Grill" read more

First time here. The food was great! Fresh, made to order. I really enjoyed it, the only downfall was that it took FOREVER to get our meal, about an hour. That's pretty ridiculous. Looked like they only had one person cooking and one person serving/bussing. The guy out front hussled though. He didn't have time to bus really though so the same trash that was on the surrounding tables when we got there, was there when we left plus more. Was a little unsettling to be sitting by so much trash, but I'm sure that's not their norm. Like I said, the food was excellent. Worth a try. read more

Such a surprisingly delightful experience! Cedar Mediterranean Grill is now my favorite spot to get a yummy gyro in town. The restaurant is large with plenty of parking. Incredible dining experience! The food here is some of the best Mediterranean cuisine in the area, and this place is a hidden gem! The hummus is authentic, the Greek Salad is delicious, and the chicken kabob (shish tawook) is big and juicy! The flavorful rice is also a nice accompaniment! We love Mexican food, but after a few days of tacos and burritos, it's time for a healthier option. We're staying overnight at the Drury Inn San Antonio, and glad to have discovered Cedar Mediterranean Grill nearby. We ordered the Shish Tawook and Chicken Shwarma. Both were made with high quality chicken breast, and served over a generous helping of rice. However, the best part of the meal might have been the delicious and smoky hummus and babaganoush sides. The service was incredible. I got the beef gyro wrap. I really enjoyed the beef. It was not over salted. It had a really good unique flavor. The portion was very generous. And the fries were surprisingly delicious. The baklava was wonderful. I will definitely be back to this place. A Sunday regular. The only thing I'd change is paying by the iPad. Wow! This place is as authentic as it gets. Great quality, tasty and clean dishes, friendly and professional staff. Mazza is not to be missed. Everything on the plate was delicious. Shish Tawook was perfectly seasoned and the rice cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place when driving through San Antonio or if simply in the neighborhood. I have no idea why the ratings here are so great. It's pretty average. The food is good, but there are a lot of better Mediterranean restaurants in the medical center area, most with lower prices and better service. It's an old fast food restaurant and still looks it. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. There was only one other table there when we came for lunch, and it still took forever. There's no complimentary bread and dipping oil like many of its competitors so we were starving. At the end of our meal, we ordered tea and dessert. Instead of clearing our dirty dishes, they set the tea tray on a table next to us and said we could move over when we were ready for the tea. Maybe they thought we weren't done eating (we were) but I thought that was a little rude. We didn't want to move to the small table so we cleared our own dishes. We won't be back. read more

Service was friendly and the guy even took his time to explain what certain dishes offered. The time and getting our appetizers were a little slow so we waited about 10 minutes. Once they came out we were not disappointed with the fried falafel. Each one of us ordered a different dish and each one of us received our dish at a different time; they all didn't come out at the same time but within about a 3 to 4 minute wait period between four plates. The chicken and the lamb and the beef all were very flavorful and tender. Plenty of leftovers for everyone. I like that my Schwarma chicken had a nice balance of rice with chicken and salad with hummus and olives. read more

I am so glad I found this place, finally halal philly cheese steak and gyro FINALLY! I almost have tears in my eyes while writing this review. The place is neat and clean, the staff is superb and the food was great and reasonably priced. Since it is close to my work I will be visiting this place more often most likely i will be one of the regulars. I am hoping i can find a halal place with fried chicken and double cheese burger etc. that would be totally awesome. Anyway back to Cedar, the philly was nice and cheesy it wasnt greasy like the one in NY on PA, it was a little bit on the light side and really tasty. The gyro has very thin meat which again was very different from what i had on east coast but it tasted great. The vegetables were nice and crunchy and the yogurt sauce was great too. Plenty of parking, they have a huge red board so you cant miss the place and there is a lot of place to sit with family. I would even recommend this place with family since the service is so nice, unlike places like Naara cafe which are disrespectful to there customers. read more

We were in the area and pulled up Yelp since our normal joints weren't appealing to us.... so glad we did. It was midday on a Sunday so it was a bit slow, we were seated the second we walked in and our waitress was super sweet and nice. I had the greek salad with chicken and my partner had the shawarma wrap. We also ordered a side of falafel. The falafel were perfect with lots of cumin. Nice and crunchy on the outside. It came with some sort of yogurt dipping sauce that I had never had before. The sauce was different but good. The salad was LOADED with veggies. I am pretty sure there was a whole cucumber in it as well as tomatoes, green peppers, onion and lettuce. The chicken was seasoned with curry which was crazy good and flavorful. My partner had the wrap which he enjoyed, he felt that pita was grilled slightly which he really liked. The fries were perfect and while I don't go to mediterranean places for the fries, they seem to know what they are doing because they were really good with great seasoning. Had we not ordered the falafel we could have made it out of there for around $20 for the both of us which is a great deal. I should also mention the portions were large and neither of us could finish our meal. We are looking forward to coming back. read more

I love this place! The food is amazing and the owner is so friendly and sweet! He always makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond. Oh and their Tzaziki and Babaganoush is by far the best in town!
