New management is very kind, I was just a little disappointed since the food tastes a bit different after I'd been coming here for the same dish every couple of weeks for 2 years. It's still good, just different. I think mainly it's the hummus was thicker. I also was missing the garlic spread and tomato in my order -- could have been a simple error but it did impact the flavor of the full dish. I'll still be back, not trying to be hypercritical. An adorable locally-owned shop that offers your typical selection of Mediterranean food. I went with the gyro wrap because I can never resist pita wraps. This one came with extra tzatziki spread on the spice along with pickled veggies which are my favorite. The pita bread they used here was soft, fluffy, and addicting with the hummus. The hummus I mentioned came with the combo plate. For my protein, I ordered the chicken shawarma and beef shawarma that came on a bed of basmati rice. I found it interesting though that the pita bread they provided here was very different from the wrap. It was much more thin and dry so it definitely needed to be dipped to enjoy it. I also got the Mediterranean Chicken Salad, minus the olives, as recommended by the worker which was a fun twist on the usual since it was layered on top of hummus spread and topped with lemon vinaigrette dressing. They have both indoor and outdoor dining but I recommend sitting on the outdoor patio in the back since it's decorated to be like a backyard. It also has a TV if you're interested in watching while you eat. The food came out quickly and it's a good place for a quick bite or a place to hang out with friends. read more

Amazing service with incredibly friendly owners. The chicken shawarma tacos were absolutely delicious, and the mix of sauces was perfectly done, especially the house spicy sauce combined with the garlic spread. The flavor was unique and seriously addictive. I've never tried anything like this before. I also had the banana bread frappe/latte, which tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. This place is fire depending on when you come. They're super inconsistent which is sad because on there good days it's amazing. Got some chicken wasn't cooked all the way so that sucked. Fries were super crispy and fresh tomatoes as grilled to perfection, the hummus was smooth and had allot of flavor! Shawarma tacos are pretty good depending who makes them. First time I came they had so much flavor second time it was lacking flavor. Not coming back sadly not consistent with the flavor & at 5$ bucks a taco it's pretty steep. read more

I was craving a wrap after my morning workout and I found Cela Cafe through Yelp. Cela Cafe is located in the Magnolia Park area and nestled between other local business. On a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't too busy and it was easy to find nearby street parking. The casual cafe has a small storefront, but plenty of menu items and seating in their back patio. The staff was also friendly and attentive, and they have free self-serve filtered water. I ordered online and just had to pick-up at the counter/register. I got the Chicken Shawarma Wrap, which came with a side of pickled veggies and sauce. The pickled veggies leaked in the takeaway container, so its juices got on my wrap as pictured. The chicken was tender, but I think the juice from the pickled veggies overpowered some of the items in the wrap. Overall, it was a small, fresh wrap that packed a flavorful punch. I also tried the Pesto Chicken Wrap (not pictured) that someone in my party had ordered. The wrap had a spinach tortilla, which was thin, yet held the structure of the wrap. The chicken was a little dry in this wrap. The pesto sauce came on the side and it was more grainy than other pestos that I've tried, but still a tasty sauce for the fresh wrap. I might return to Cela Cafe if not for the wraps, then for their other menu items. There were so many options when I was browsing online, and the smoothies stood out to me. We'll see! read more

Hummus was old tasting, the salad was just lettuce thrown on a place, the meat portion was tiny. I ended up with a smoothie too, but it was really watery. Cela Cafe is picking up where Healthy Bites left off. This was my first visit and the place looks wonderful. The interior has the clean fresh look that you would expect from a new business. The Owner (Albert) and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu is similar to Healthy Bites with a few added items. I mentioned to Albert that it would be nice to see daily specials, and he assured me they're going to start specials in the near future. Let's cross our fingers. I ordered the Garlic Herb wrap and it was delicious. The wrap was seasoned to perfection. I gave four stars only because I like to see a little side salad with the wraps to justify the price point. The wraps are over $16 and I'm still hungry. The side salad would help complete the meal. This place is definitely five stars if they add daily specials and a side salad to wraps. read more

We are hashtag blessed to live in a city where great Mediterranean/middle eastern food is a stones throw away from wherever you are. Especially in this part of Burbank, a good kebab or shawarma are easy to find, but they're also easy to miss. Especially when that place in the middle of one of the busiest strips in town. Between the foot and car traffic of Magnolia Park, Cela Cafe is an easy place to blink and miss it. When you do come across the fair colored building and simple lettering over its doors, Cela Cafe is a wonderful place to get some food. The decor is a bit, "live, laugh, love," and the inside is trying to feel cozy, but feels rather cramped. While I did not get to experience it on this first visit, they do have a really nice back patio that's nice to sit and have your meal. The menu is pretty basic and what you'd expect...falafel, chicken or beef kebabs, lule, or shawarma. The latter is rotating on a spit all day, getting nicely charred and roasted as the world spins madly on. Like other mediterranean places, you have your choice of a plate, wrap, salad, and other side orders like tzatziki and hummus. For my first time, I opted for a combo plate (chicken kebab and beef shawarma). The plate comes with hummus, tzatziki, garlic sauce, a cucumber/tomato salad, roasted tomato, rice, and a pita. For around 18 bucks, you get a decent amount of food, but I feel like it's not enough. The food is good though...the chicken kebab is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It has hints of char from the grill and is that bright turmeric yellow you come to expect. The beef shawarma looked really good on social media, but I ended up getting something that could be considered meat shavings. The shawarma was still good, but nothing like the perfectly grilled chunks of meat I saw on instagram. Overall, I was a little disappointed by my meal and I feel that way about most of the "good" Mediterranean places around. While you get the quality and service for your 20 bucks, there are other places in LA that will give you more on your plate, for about the same price, and have been doing so for generations now...but Cela Cafe might have something that tips the scales in their favor. Maybe this is burying the lede, but the garlic sauce here is the best I've ever had. While other places might have a recipe to kill for, the garlic sauce here is to die for. Every garlic sauce I've had is similar, but this packs a zesty zing...not sure if it's more lemon or something else, but it just hits the tongue differently. It makes you want to take more bites and it's delightfully garlicky as the others. If it wasn't for this garlic sauce, I might have given this place a hard three, but between the good service, vibes, and this sauce, it's almost at a 5. While Cela Cafe might be the new kid on the block, definitely buck tradition once in a while and try this place. read more

Honestly I've had better here with the many choices in the valley I would go elsewhere. I saw people reviewing on social media but this just proved to me that not everything is true and they probably pay for reviews. I went with the Tahini wrap, and it was delicious! My only gripe is that I wish the tahini was already in the wrap. On the side was fine, but I wish there was more of it, since I ran out before I could finish my wrap. Still tasty tho! 1st time my bf and I ordered lunch from here the food was delicious even though my bf found a very long hair in his wrap. We didn't trip bc shit happens and we know it wasn't intentional. With that being said I went back today and a young lady and gentleman were working. The girl took my order (garlic chicken wrap) and I ordered a small side of tzaziki ($1.50). While I was waiting for my order I noticed there was a sign that said every wrap got a free side of tzaziki. I didn't say anything bc I already paid and it was less than $2. However I get home and 1. Notice the tzaziki is all spilled in the bag 2. The wrap is soggy as hell. I'm assuming the juice from the chicken saturated the wrap. Which is simply unacceptable. There needs to be better quality control (hair in food), soggy wraps, and poorly packaged to go items. I say all this to bring to their attention for the next guests. They have free 2 hour street parking and a small 2 spot lot in the back of the restaurant, however, it is relatively easy to find parking in the neighborhood, which is also free 2 hour parking. You order at the counter and they have indoor and outdoor seating. They have an outdoor patio in the back that is very pretty with a fountain and comfortable chairs. The people who work there are very kind. We ordered the gyro plate and gyro wrap. They were a bit on the pricier side, but the portion size was good for one meal or even 2 if you're not too hungry. read more
