The service was excellent and well paced. The setting was a little loud but not above average. The bar was quiet but had an odd vibe when you walked through it. We started with the artichoke which was a little water logged. The house made pasta was piping hot, a large serving and a good balance of meat to sauce to pasta. This place looks and feels special as you walk in through their floral arches and twinkle lights. We enjoyed the crispy pork belly with watermelon, beef carpaccio, lamb shank, and short rib, all of which were delicious and the portions were very generous. They were very busy with multiple larger parties (6-8 people) when we were there, so it felt a bit crowded, and at times the service paced felt slow while at other times it felt a little rushed with multiple staff members helping. But everyone was very nice and polite. And the big parties seemed like they were having a blast! They forgot to bring us a side we ordered at one point, but it came after we asked. Nothing was wrong with this dish but it wasn't liking to my tastebuds. Garlic bread (5/5): I believe this was one of the daily specials, but if it is on the menu it is great to get! The bread is was coated with a good amount of cheese/ butter then we got to spread the roasted garlic onto the bread. Pan roasted Alaskan halibut (2/5): The halibut was super bland for me and I had no clue what the orange sauce was but I didn't taste any flavor with it. The presentation of the dish looked nice though. Coq au vin (3/5): chicken wasn't dry which was a good thing but this dish was alright. Nothing too special about this dish. Moroccan Inspired Braised Lamb Shank (4/5): the lamb fell off the bone instantly and the was no gamey taste to the lamb. Pretty good dish in terms of flavor. Asian sticky ribs (5/5): this was honestly the best out of all the main entrees we've tried. The ribs fell off the bone and the sauce coating the ribs were super flavorful! Not pictured: Flash fried Calamari (5/5): A MUST GET!!! The calamari was crispy on the outside, but nice and chewy on the inside with a great Sweet sauce coating the outside of the calamari. Thai coconut mussels (5/5): the only reason why theres no picture for this was because we ate all of it before I could take a picture. This dish had a hint of coconut flavoring and had a nice garlic broth that the mussels was cooked in. The broth is great dipping in some bread! Grilled New York steak (3.5/5): they over cooked our steak a little bit but it was decent. Honestly the appetizers were so much better than the entrees. I'm glad I got to try both though. My pan roasted half chicken was good, with a rich mushroom sauce which honestly was the highlight of the entree. Omg this place is so pretty! Okay ent here recently with a group of ) friends for special bday of a loved one. The food was really good!! It wasn't overly fancy and I like the simplicity of that. Just elevated comfort food! There were no complaints around the table, everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. Desserts were a hit too! Especially the bread pudding and the Creme brûlée. I will say our server was whack! She forgot multiple things. One of my friends after dinner ordered an affogato and told our server it was way too bitter and she offered to bring a straw? What in the world?!! I don't know if it was an off day but she definitely didn't bring her a game. There were at least 4 things missing that never came. I booked a reservation for 1:30pm on a Saturday; however, we were running 30+ minutes late due to traffic and they were happy to still accommodate us when I called in to let them know we'd be late. Our group was very happy that they still held our reservation on such a busy day! - Flash fried calamari 4/5: The sweet chili sauce that is drizzled over this calamari is flavorful and I like how it gives an Asian twist on your traditional calamari. It's definitely more sweet than it is spicy, so don't let the word "chili" scare you. The pickled ginger on top also added interesting Asian flavors. - Pappardelle pasta 3.5/5: I honestly expected more from this pasta. It was cooked perfectly al dente and the roasted pork shoulder was a great addition, but I felt like something was missing from the sauce. It was good, but definitely could have been better for a $28 pasta. My friends who also got this dish agreed. - Asian sticky ribs 4.5/5: This dish exceeded expectations! Celadon gave a generous amount of ribs and it was delicious. The fries paired well with the ribs as well. I wished they had more brunch items to choose from which didnt include pork. So I got the crab cakes and added poached eggs to kinda make it like a crab cake Benedict. Our party was running late so they were nice and accommodating for us since we were late, the workers were very friendly and we sat in the outdoor area. Our server asked us for our drinks and gave us time to order, we had a round of mimosas and asked for a round of shots of hennessy where they unfortunately were out of, so we opted to get some Blanco tequila which was awesome. We were feeling more of brunch as opposed to entree items but I asked what the most popular items were and the waiter said they were the corn beef hash (which I wish I got), Asian sticky ribs, and papperdelle pasta. Since we decided to drink and I wanted brunch, I asked what was a pretty hearty breakfast and he recommended the huevos rancheros which wasn't too different from the chilaquiles. We also started with the calamari and crab cakes which were really good, I enjoyed the different flavors and the papaya that the crab cakes were on. My table also got the pancakes, omelette, and scramble. For brunch I would say it's a very classic place in a nice location, didn't really wow me but was ok for the price, location, and service. If and when I come back I would want to try their pasta and Asian sticky ribs. Bathrooms are located outside with a code. We also asked if we could do something for our friends birthday and they put a candle in vanilla ice cream which was surprisingly really good! Five stars doesn't even seem like enough to fully rate my experience yesterday at Celadon. My partner and I made reservations about a week in advance to celebrate our first year anniversary together in Napa. Coming from out of town, we didn't really know the area but remembered our first visit to Celadon for his birthday the year prior and knew we wanted to return (because the food is delicious!!!). Upon our arrival we were greeted with an anniversary card and warm wishes from the staff. Each staff member we came in contact with made the experience so special. When we were seated, our waitress greeted us with two complementary flutes of champagne! We felt like royalty. Our waitress (who I regretfully cannot remember her name) offered us "off the menu" items-- my partner got the prime rib and I was offered a vegan pasta but stuck with the poached pear salad from the menu. For desert, I was offered an off the menu pear merlot sorbet (vegan) which I gladly accepted and my partner chose the banana creme brûlée-- both incredible!! Our waters were always full. The staff was extremely attentive. All COVID protocols were met. The outdoor seating remained warm with heaters and fires. And most importantly, our food and drinks went above and beyond our expectations. We are already looking forward to celebrating many more anniversaries with Celadon. Been here for brunch and dinner and I have to say their brunch menu is much better. The spot is pretty cool with an industrial feel and a big fireplace in the enclosed outdoor area. The only downside is that the place does get pretty noisy so opt to sit inside if you want a more intimate dining experience. The good: Chilaquiles was delicious. The mole sauce was rich and a perfect accompaniment to the crispy tortilla and the eggs. Hubby liked the Biscuits and gravy dish- soft and fluffy biscuits and rich gravy sauce. Moroccan lamb- the lamb meat was tender, fell off the bone. Overall, great flavor and all the ingredients were in harmony. Stopped by for lunch on our way through Napa. Service and food is definitely 5 star caliber. The Kobe style burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Service - top notch! We made a reservation in advance, I got a call a few days before my reservation to confirm. We had a 7:45pm reservation & the other half of our party was running behind. The restaurant was kind enough to hold our table till 8:15 (Side note - they will not seat you unless your entire party is there. The server said it has something to do with the new Covid rules). Terri was our server, she did a great job explaining the chef special for the night, and she was kind enough to take pictures of us in their iconic flower/garden walkway. First off--WOW! Celadon exceeded any and all expectations I had. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our three year anniversary, and were met at our table with complimentary glasses of champagne, custom menus that read "Happy Anniversary" at the top, and a handwritten card celebrating us! And that was only three minutes into sitting down! Our server was fantastic, and the staff were very courteous (and I have never seen such promptness in refilling our waters, it was a spectacle to watch). Salad with battered shrimp was good. Wonder why the server asked if we wanted pepper on it (and don't know why my wife even said yes to it) The special of the day was halibut on a bed of risotto and the risotto was watery. Wife ordered the lamb which had good smell. She couldn't finish it so asked to box it, but when we got back to our hotel, there was only a tiny piece in the box. The beautiful view of they're green entryway made the experience even more special. For appetizer, the Dungeness crab cakes are a must try. The crab cakes were filled with flavor and the sauce and greens really tied everything together. I wish this was an entree option because I fell in love with this dish and was only dreaming of more after the last bite. For my main course, I ordered the pot pie. I'm not really one to order biscuits and gravy for an entree, but it was still well rounded with potatoes, ham and two slices of bacon on top. If I'm ever in the area again, however, I will choose their feta omelette which really caught my attention but I didn't choose to get because I wanted to explore out of my comfort zone. I've been to Celadon on a couple different occasions but this is the first time I have documented my experience - I've never had a bad experience. Came here with my parents to celebrate Father's day. The staff was very accommodating, and really made the day special. Starters: Calamari - A lot of restaurants serve calamari as an appetizer but few actually nail it. The breading was light and crispy, not too greasy. It was not over cooked and the seasoning was perfect. Main Course: Grilled Pork Chop - Just enough salt. Nice crust and char from the grilling and cooked to a perfect medium. My only criticism of the dish is that they kind of just threw green onions on the top and called it a day. We were visiting Napa and staying at the River Inn. Our room faced the outside of Celadon so we could see dinner service. After reading that it was one of the best hidden restaurants, we decided to try it our last night in town. We called the day of, and they were able to accommodate us with an outside table as we had a pup with us. We had spent the day wine tasting so we brought our own bottle of wine and just paid the corkage fee. We started with the Calamari, and it was so good, the breading was perfect not overly breaded and crispy. For our entrees my sister ordered the Filet medium, and I had the Pan Roasted Half Chicken. The Chicken and salad were on point, but the Filet not so much. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because the Filet was so undercooked. If you are charging $50 for a steak it should be cooked perfectly. It was literally rare inside. We ended up feeding it to the dog, but just asked if they could at least remove the corkage fee which they did. read more
