Found this place while driving by after we left Main Place Mall. We were hungry and decided to sit down and eat instead of eating at the mall food court. When we walked in, it looked a lot better than it did on the outside. The waitress told us that they had changed owners and remodeled the whole place. The decor and seats looked really new! The waitress we got was what made our experience so awesome. She was the only one working the front and did everything herself! Serve all tables, answer phone calls for take out orders, and still had time to treat us so well :) We ordered 2 dinner specials, one of them was the red curry combo, and the other was a veggie stirfry. The dinner specials come with soup, eggrolls, fried wontons, and a salad. We substituted all meat with tofu, and we totally forgot that the wontons had meat inside. The waitress was smart and automatically replaced our wontons for fried tofu pieces without us even asking! The red curry is the best curry they have there. The coconut wasn't too strong, and it had a nice kick to it! My stirfry was good as well, and we finished all our food. This restaurant is conveniently located near my bf's work place so whenever I come to have lunch with him on a day that he's craving for thai food, we come here. This establishment is a bit on the small side but there is always enough room to accommodate all customers, even during busy lunch hours. Bf always gets the lunch pad thai that comes with rice and soup. The pad thai here is OK. The flavor is there and it is by all means satisfying, but it's not the best. I've had the spicy fried rice and the drunken noodles. The fried rice was actually spicy and had a nice flavor to it. The drunken noodles were OK. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting it to be. What I have noticed every time I have visited here is that there are always regular patrons visiting this restaurant. The staff here are very friendly and have established relationships with many of their customers. Cute! read more

Haven't had great Thai since moving to Orange, until now! After being sick (head/chest colds) for about a week or so, we were ready to get out of the house. What to eat? Thai food! Something light, tasty, and inexpensive. I've never searched for Thai here in Orange, so I opened Yelp and gave it a shot. Low and behold only a couple of minutes from our house is this quaint and clean restaurant called Cha Thai. Welcomed in by the hostess and seated quickly we began to peruse the menu. So many great dishes! I chose the Pad Thai and the Tom Yum Gah (I believe) spicy, coconut vegetable soup. The food arrived hot and with perfect presentation. Not only did the food look great, but the taste was heavenly! I regret to say that I ate every bit! Stuffed myself for sure. Pros: Clean, Tasty, Inexpensive Cons: None. Give Cha Thai a try! This was my first time trying their food. I ordered through Uber Eats. The delivery service was great. However I ordered Vegetable Pad Thai. It mention Tofu as 1 of the ingrediants and I never found a single tofu. The veggies in the noodles were little. And the flavor of the Pad Thai were also very sour and strong. Best Thai food in Orange! I used to have this delivered to my place, but unfortunately they no longer deliver. Luckily, this place is right down the street from my place so it's definitely worth the drive. I normally get the Pad Se Ew and it's a big portion so it lasts me two meals. Everything is really fresh and prepared to perfection. Service is usually very quick and the servers are all fairly nice. The music is always my favorite! Someone really knows how to put together a playlist and I dig it! I don't ever notice how long the food takes because I am always jamming out! *They have two big tvs on both sides of the restaurant so if you don't like the music (or who you came with), they have other ways to entertain you.* I highly recommend and I will be back for more! read more

First time we try this place. It's clean inside even though it doesn't look like much from the outside. The Pharmacist Thai Noodles were very good. Good flavors and a good amount of chicken. I give the noodles a four out of five. Our server was nice and friendly. She would make sure we were good. Yhe Padka Basel chicken was good. This was the lunch special. So sad to give this review, but I was literally yelled at by one of the workers when I called about my order. On Postmates, their vegetarian spicy noodles says it comes with tofu. Mine hasn't be last two times, so I just wanted to call to let them know they may want to update it cus some people would be bothered. Instead of saying "ah thank you" she started yelling about how I need to specially request it, which isn't an option on the app. I explained this was was further yelled at. I told her I wasn't upset I just wanted to let them know, and she was so rude and said if I order so much I should know! Came here to pick up lunch for my office during a highly stressful day. The workers here worked fast and were so kind. Our food was DELICIOUS and their prices are very reasonable. I got their pad thai, yellow curry, and the orange chicken. My office was so pleased and they told us it would take 20 minutes but it felt much faster than that. We ordered from this place through Uber eats. Pad see ew, the noodles were burned and tasted plain Pad Thai, a little bit sour, but acceptable. Yellow curry, flavor was alright. Similar to other Thai places. Satay chicken, tasted alright, but definitely won't recommend to other people. Pad see ew was the worst. I hope they can improve. I am so sad to write this, but I don't think I'll be coming here any longer. I don't know if they got new management or what, but they did away with the dinner special that included an entree, rice, an eggroll, a wonton, a salad, & miso soup for $9.99 & only have the lunch special (same thing, just smaller portions) on M-F. Now when I want to eat my usual order, it comes out to about $25 just for me alone! The price is just way too much for me to justify eating here weekly, which is what I had been doing before. I am NEVER EVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! If i could give them zero star, I would. I occasionally come here for lunch with my coworkers and my past experiences have been pretty okay. Today, 4 of us came for lunch and we were sitted right away becuz it wasn't busy at all. However, we waited for someone to take our orders, but no one came. We only have 1 hour for lunch and I wanted to hurry up and order. No one came for over 10 minutes!!! When someone finally came, the girl looked like she didn't want to work there. No smile and with a total "what do u want?" attitude. After she got our orders, she blurts out, " lunch portion or dinner portion?", also with an unfriendly tone. We said "lunch please" and she grabbed the menu and left without saying anything. We all looked at each other like... uh.... hello??? What's with the attitude OMG.... Anyways, when the food came, we were so disappointed that the portion was very very small, totally not worth the money. I asked for some pickled pepper and they turned away and brought fresh ones. When i asked for "pickled" ones instead of the fresh ones, they said there were no more. Seriously?? All of a sudden, there were no more pickled peppers??? Hmmm... Their food was yucky. Rice was too sticky and the soup tasted like MSG overload. During the time 4 of us ate, the waitresses didn't even bother to come by to ask if everything was okay. Even after we were done eating, no one came. I had to raise my voice and ask for the bill. I didn't want to leave any tip, but one of my coworkers thought a small tip would be fair because they at least brought our food to the table. I am not so nice... They are lucky I didn't have time to complain!!! All in all, we are not going to that restaurant ever again. There are many other Thai restaurants around here and I'd rather go elsewhere where I get treated with a smile. I hope the owner of this restaurant sees my comment and train their waitresses to be more friendly. Good service and good food is the "key" to any restaurant business. Great Pas Tai! Just ordered Some pad tai from Cha off Uber Eats since it was one of the highest rated places in the area and the pad tai was amazing! I've been going to this place for over 3 years. I've tried pad thai at several different restaurants & none come in comparison to this place. The flavor is delicious! I usually get the beef pad thai number 4 spicy. It's so delicious & their fried wontons are good too. They just brought back the dinner special & you get your money's worth. I've only come here for dinner & it's usually slow, but I believe they get busy during lunch time since they're close to some hospitals. Review based strictly on the Pad Thai. Recently moved to the area and been looking for a good Thai restaurant. Drove by this place around dinner time and decided to check it out. Ordered chicken Pad Thai to go and it was ready in less than 5 minutes. When I got home I saw that it was a good portion size and they give a lot of chicken. I dug in. The abundant chicken (all breast meat) was cooked well and not too dry but flavorless. The flavor of the dish overall tasted as Pad Thai should. But a couple things I noticed. The noodles had a mushy texture indicating that they were either overcooked or had been cooked a while ago and had been sitting out, which might explain why my food was out so quickly. Still edible but I definitely would've preferred freshly cooked al dente noodle texture. Second other than a some shredded carrot there was a noticeable lack of freshness. A side of raw bean sprouts, like other Thai restaurants would normally include, would've helped this dish a lot. Overall I probably won't go back here based on this dish. Overcooked noodles and lack of bean sprouts made this dish a no for me. My search for a good Thai restaurant continues. read more

Ordered red curry and green curry and both were completely watery, very little coconut milk. The Tom Kha Gai soup is supposed to have coconut milk and was also watered down. I came here for lunch with my sister and mom. I really enjoyed it. My favorite dishes were the papaya salad and the chicken basil, which had a kick to it. They have an awesome wonton soup, super simple but full of flavor. My sister really enjoys the yellow curry chicken lunch special which includes a soup and salad. I ordered the Pad Thai of the lunch special. [Lunch Special 7.95 from 11:00-3:00] After ordering the food came out very quick which I am always happy about & as I ate the lady kept coming over to check on me. All around excellent service. Cha Thai- you are saving me from the dismal Thai Food existence I have suffered through as of late! I have been pretty down on my luck with Thai places lately. Ever since my brief stint in Thailand, I've been on The Great Pad Thai search. Sophy's in LB came the closest to matching my memory of the lustful stuff but technically that's a Cambodian place and not so easy for take-out when you work in other cities. Today, I called in an order to Cha Thai for lunch pick-up. Because of my recent Pad Thai luck, I decided to ditch my Pad Thai test and go straight to the recommendations.. Red Curry. Wow what a Red Curry! It was perfect- even on a scorcher of a day such as today! The guy on the phone asked me how spicy I liked it and I said SPICY (with my American white girl voice). He didn't sound convinced so I told him I like it spicier than most. When I got the order the receipt was marked with 2 stars for spiciness which was damn near perfect. Yes, I could have gotten all macho and gone for 4 stars with little repercussion, but this curry was milky and spicy and absolutely delicious. The lunch special was a great deal- even for Thai food. For $7.01 I got a container of red curry, a container of rice and a won ton soup. All of it tasted fresh to order and was very very hot (temperature-wise!) I will definitely return to this place and try to recruit others to join me. Maybe next time I'll try their pad Thai.. or maybe I'll just stick with that addictive red curry.. Alrighty then... So I come to meet a friend for lunch at this joint and almost no one is there at 1:00 pm on a Tuesday. This seems bad and I have a bit of apprehension about eating here... Shouldnt a well rated place be slammed at lunch even if its not exactly noon? Well I go in apprehension and all. Sit down in the quiet environs. As I am looking at the menu, I am further disenfranchised. Thai food this does not entirely seem. Seriously on the lunch menu there are "chicken strips with "thai dipping sauce" hahaha ok... Authentic Thai Food the sign says. For someone who has lived in Thailand I am on the verge of wanting my money back and I havent even ordered. W.T.Heck kunh Thai!! mai cow jai ta mai mai ami Thai? why isnt there Thai much Thai on the menu... ok so I keep scanning the lunch menu, ohhh did I go in the wrong place, beef brocoli, baby corn chicken, chow mein O_O Seriously I am ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh inside but not saying a word to my friend since she likes the joint. I turn to the rest of the menu and lo and behold... what do mine eyes flicker across??? THAI FOOD!!! I start doing mental overjoyous flips of joy! So I am looking at what options are there and end up settling on one of my most favorite, Massaman Beef Curry with rice. So while waiting 10-15 minutes for the food to come out (yeah I know the curry takes a bit longer but it was closer to 15 than it was to 10)... my friend and I are chatting and catching up on life. Usual lunchtime banter about life. so they finally bring out the grub. I look at it and its not the typical orangish color its a darker version and I am like ut ohhh... what is different with this... well I decide I am starved and gotta eat (I hadnt eaten yet that day) and spooned a bunch of it over the rice and dove in. WOW O_O it tasted pretty good and the taste was reasonably authentic. Consequently, I am allowing 4 stars when otherwise this would be a 3 star spot. The beef was tender and would pull apart, the potato's had thoroughly cooked through and soaked up the juices/curry, too bad there were not any carrots. The peanuts were crunchy (not common but i like them so). So the taste saved the ranking here. Still totally put off by the lunch menu, etc. But I may join my friend here becuase the food was good. I was a little surprised at the waitresses as they seemed aloof to the few customers there as well. a hidden locals-only kinda place, this thai spot has all the necessary items to make it successful: the king and queen of thailand faded photo, faux wood laminated wall panels, light bulb fixtures from the 70's, orange chairs, and faded thai tourism posters from the 90's. there are probably a million thai restaurants that look like this, but none can cook better than this place. all the flavors here are a little off, a little more sweet than other places, it's a good change from time to time to switch it up, and places like these keep your thai food palate refreshed from all the mundane and bland spots that are frequently found around so cal. some recomendations: kai kua noodles tom kha kai soup fried tofu yellow/red curries read more
